Livia Quinn Oh my. . . well if you've read my books, many of the weird events are reflected in them, like the crazy ex. Then there's how I got red hair when everyone except my cousin and I had black, lol.
Livia Quinn My most recent book was Take These Broken Wings, book 5 in the Destiny Paramortals. The series originally started with my fear of storms and my job as a mail carrier in rural Louisiana and Mississippi. There were so many interesting people and situations on the route and scenes bombarded me as I drove the streets. The storm aspect just naturally became a big feature in the world with Tempe becoming a Storm "witch".
Livia Quinn When I get stuck I grab my pen and notebook and either take a long soak in the tub or take an hour drive. My characters always follow me to these two locations, if I settle down and place myself there to listen. It hardly ever fails.
Livia Quinn Right now, it's Matthew Clairmont and Diana Bishop from the All Souls Trilogy. They hang with me like two old friends. I've re-read or listened to the series three times and each time I get new insight into their world and their relationships with each other and others. The series reminds me of the Outlander series by Gabaldon in many ways (my previous favorite couple of all time.)
Livia Quinn Ha! Exactly what other authors told me when I started. "Just write." I'm so glad I took that to heart since it gave me the basis for many of my Storm Lake books. Handwrite, record, type, pc, however you can get the words down. Just Do It and often.
Livia Quinn Finishing up the edits on Cry Me a River, number two in the Destiny Paramortals and number three in the overall Storm Lake series to be released in September. Also, Eve of Chaos which comes after Cry Me a River for October/November release.
Livia Quinn Sometimes I get insights and new scenes as I awaken around 4-5am. I keep a notebook by the bed (if I can just make myself turn over and write it down. If I don't they are gone forever). These are the freebies. The rest come from observations, life experiences and off-the-wall imagination, or listening to some great lyrics.
