I write books. I've always been a writer. I know it's cliche but I started writing almost as soon as I learned to read. I wrote a play for school--in the third grade--that they put on for Christmas that year. I've never quite forgiven my sister for getting married that night. I missed my own production!

I've worked in various fields throughout my career. I was a cop, EMT, photographer, journalist, high school English teacher for special education, and most recently, a published author.

I enjoy using the skills I've learned in those jobs in my writing. A little less research is needed when I write books with police or medical information.

I love to hear from readers and other writers. I can be reached on Twitter at @HopeWelsh and my blog at http://hopewelsh.blogspot.com or my website at http://hopewelsh.com

Authors write because they have a story to tell. They publish to tell you their story. Please be sure to leave a review when you read a book you enjoy. We do appreciate it, I promise.

R2R for honest opinion.(LoP)
Updated on 28th June.

I decided to change my review due to being informed by the author, that the wrong copy of the book was sent out for the R2R. The original (older) copy had me confused and distracted as to I know that pointing these things out might seem petty to others, but seriously things like that distract me from the point of the scene. Especially if it happens again but in another situation. But having read the new copy I see that anything that annoyed or confused me in the older version, have been corrected in the new in such an excellent way :)

Anyway onto a positive note, I think Cole and Lana were AWESOME and highly enjoyable to read about.

Cole~ Hell, leave it to me to be at the wrong place at the right time.

description

Cole is a private detective and was at the wrong place but perfect time when he met Lana, who at the time was in BIG trouble. They were really cute together throughout the book. Cole starting off as the perfect gentleman calling her 'ma'am' and Lana being sarcastic and finding humor in the worst circumstances.

Lana~ The last thing she needed in her life right now was another complication. Especially one in the form of tall, dark and dreamy.

description

Something about him called to her, pulled at her, screamed that she should trust him. And she wasn't someone to trust easy.

Even though this was a quick read and quick love shared between them, it was also beautiful and felt genuine. Cole was alpha male and protective towards Lana when needed. And Lana was sweet but feisty when Cole was out of line.

"Are you always hungry?"
His eyes darkened. His smile slow, sly and a little feral as he pulled her to him and kissed her hard and deep. "Always."

description

"I love you. Know that, remember it, always."

One dislike that can be considered a personal choice...

Overall, I did enjoy this book and hope others will give it a chance too :)

I have this little quirk when it comes to reading … I love evil. Evil bad boys, evil masterminds and in the case of LINKED, the all seeing evil presence. When I was approached to read Hope Welsh’s recent release, I took one look at the blurb and smiled and when I then saw the cover with the evil eyes staring back at me, I almost cackled with delight. I’m new to the author’s writing so I wondered if she’d provided me a story to appease my quirk and boy did she ever. Evil comes in all forms and as I began reading, I loved the characters I met, the unique storyline and I was especially happy to find one of my favorite kinds of evil – the indignant.

LINKED begins with the mutterings of the Evil One, a menacing presence who’d be cursed by Druids and trapped in a prison for over two millennia. While there, he’d learned of a prophecy speaking of two pieces that held the ultimate power of his destruction and with nothing but time, he plotted and schemed. Enter into the story Lana, the daughter of a psychic mother who was murdered months earlier and a woman who desperately wants nothing to do with anything paranormal. Whether through her own emerging gifts or a message from beyond, she’s awoken one night to the sound of someone in her home and as she escapes with the intruder close behind, she crosses paths with Cole, a private detective who is more than just an incredibly sexy man. As Cole’s protective instincts kick in and an instant connection is forged, Cole teams with Tara to get to the bottom of who her mysterious stalker is, only to find more questions than answers. How was Tara’s mother involved? What is this legend/prophecy that people are talking about? And what do Cole and Tara have to do with the two pieces mention? Despite the danger that is constantly present as the time from the ultimate confrontation approaches, Tara and Cole find solace and passion with one another as their rapidly developing attraction grows and blossoms. In each other they find love but will it be enough to overcome the Evil One’s threat and will they lose it, even as they begin to explore it? A great storyline with just the right amount of suspenseful flavor to keep me hooked until the end.

I really liked the characters of the story – Lana and Cole and loved the chemistry they had almost instantly. I loved that there was a real sense of humor between them, a sassy playfulness and that Lana was willing to put herself out there just a little so Cole could do his “manly duty” and help her. That said though, I had no doubt that Lana could care for herself and they made a great team as they tried to figure out exactly what was happening. They really had nothing to go on but they had faith and tried anyway, finding necessary clues along the way. I will say that I love a woman who can have a hunky man completely shift in front of her and it not even faze her. I understood the feeling of being lied to but me, I’m feeling all lusty towards a man and he busts out into a tiger? I’d be shocked stupid and unable to move but not Lana she was able to do what she needed. I really admired the way that Lana looked at the situation – she sweated over what she could and accepted what she couldn’t. She’s being stalked by the ultimate evil, the man she’s attracted to is a shape shifter, she has “powers” she doesn’t like surfacing while dealing with the fact that Cole very much is the one. She took a lot in her stride and I would have loved to know more of her thought processes because you just know there HAD to be a lot going on inside. Great character!

I loved the protectiveness of Cole. I loved that he was the kind of man who when he sees a woman in the middle of the night being chased by a stranger, doesn’t turn the other way but rushes to save her. That speaks of chivalry and honor and his willingness to get involved with something that he doesn’t think involve him because he feels he needs to was amazing. I loved how he interacted with Lana, talked with her, soothed and comforted her and of course, got down and loving with her. He’s the type of man you want in your life, the man you know you can count on to be bigger than the problem and if he isn’t, he shows no fear, oozes confidence and walks at the situation head on like he owns it. He was the first to acknowledge that the feelings he had for Lana were love, that they were different from what he’d experienced before and I loved that he wasn’t ashamed to say it. Most of all I loved that he acknowledged they were too soon and vowed to give Lana more time. He was sensible, not embarrassed to state the obvious but to me still incredibly sexy to be open with how he felt and not hide from it. I definitely enjoyed getting to know what I could about him.

I have to say I loved the Evil One in the story and it was this character that had me laughing and smiling the most. In my mind I had this image of this big bad power that everyone is afraid of and had to be cursed into a prison by Druids because he was dangerous. He warrants his own prophecy, which in my mind makes him a force to be reckoned with and those opening scenes as I met him, I could feel his malice for everything. The man reeked of revenge and gloated about how he was going to destroy all in his path because ultimately. he’s the big bad!! As the story went on though, my image of him started to change. Oh he was still the big bad. Coming in the shape of a wolf with evil filled eyes, giving messages capable of curdling blood, he definitely had the goods but as he began to notice he wasn’t so infamous… that his foes didn’t see him as he saw himself, I began to get the image of a dark figure in robes stomping his feet and pouting. “It’s not fair.. I’m the Evil One. You all must cower before me” LOL The way Lana and Cole reacted to him through ignorance infuriated him and undermined his grand schemes for domination which must have truly sucked for his over sized meglamanic ego. I can’t stress enough how much I LOVED this and of being able to see his reactions and the way he dealt with the blow.

This truly was a great book to read. I loved the unique take Hope used in explaining the origins of shape shifters and I had never heard it before. It was believable and I wish I could have learned a little more. I guess that’s the one thing I would add. This is a great book in and of itself but I honestly feel, with extra character insight and detail, this book could be so much better. I was able to see everything the author was trying to describe and with the little extras added, the scenes could literally jump off the page. Having said that, I would definitely recommend this to people to read. I loved it and was able to relate to the characters. It left me with a good feeling in my heart and for me, that’s why I read. Happy reading!!

This book started out very strong. I was hooked from the first scene where the heroine jumps out of the second story window to escape an intruder and runs straight into the arms of the hero. The mystery of it all was good. What was after them? What did it want? Why were they so linked? But, I thought the last half was a little rushed. The questions were answered a little too simply (I came away feeling that it would have been better suited for youth, except it had a couple sex scenes). It wasn't complex enough for my tastes. I would have liked for them to have to ferret out the answers themselves over time. I also wanted the Evil One to be a little more scary and, well, evil. There were scenes showing its thoughts to keep it in the storyline but its motivations weren't clear, its need for action wasn't immediate. I am hoping the second book has more of what I want. I think it will. I look forward to it.

Evil is watching and time is running out. Lana Summers wants an ordinary life--and nothing to do with anything paranormal. She shuns her own paranormal abilities. When her home is broken into, Cole Williams comes to the rescue--and he's much more than he seems. Will they be able to stop the evil or is their joining going to be the cause of the ultimate destruction of humanity?

Of course, I wrote the book--so I must give it five stars. Let me know what YOU think of it, too!

Books like “Linked” are difficult for me to review. It’s not a matter of length or even quality, it’s more a matter of genre. Paranormal erotica (and I use the term “erotica” loosely with Linked – it only skirted the edge) is a big seller these days. Where women used to bury their heads in Harlequins; they now turn to books like “Blood Lust” by Zoe Winters or the “Riley Jensen” series by Keri Arthur. Ladies like “juicy bits” and there are more than enough authors willing to provide it for them.

I’m not saying I dislike this genre. Hell, I like the “Oh, God…Take me NOW!” just as much as the next girl, I just have a problem talking about it. Give me sword fights or even decapitated heads and I’m golden. Hand me a plate of yummy and ask me to break it down? I panic. So, instead of focusing on the obvious (sex) I’ve decided to venture into the “unknown”…aka “the rest of the story.”

Tara has had a bad couple of months, and while yes… the “suicide” of her mother was sad, and unexpected, nothing could prepare her for what was about to happen. Awoken (quite frightfully) from a dream she quickly discovers she’s not alone. Gathering her wits (and forcing herself to keep it together) Tara does the only thing she can think of; she jumps out the window. Hauling ass with her intruder only steps behind she finally sees her out… another man. Can Cole help keep her safe when it’s so damn obvious someone is after her? Why does all of this seems so eerily familiar, and will the real Cole scare or excite Tara?

All “lust-fest” qualities aside, “Linked” was…well… surprisingly action packed. The handful of fights, and glimpses into both of the main characters background added depth to a read that under normal circumstances could have been pawned off as fluff, and Welsh (although quick to throw her characters into bed) managed to form a pretty decent plot.

Is this read for everyone? Well no, of course not. Even though it was executed well for its genre; the fact remains that it was a quick read, with little character development, and a whole bunch of snuggly time. 50 more pages and a little more push/pull could have done this little ditty a world of good, but if you like books that (uh hum) get to the point, with a dash of suspended reality then knock your lights out. It IS only $.99.

Happy Reading my fellow Kindle-ites and remember: Furry friends need love too.

*I received this book for free in return of an honest review*

I immediately fell in love with this book, and was hooked from the first sentence. The main characters were easily related to, and their relationship was the things fairytales are made of. In this story we meet a girl who has yet to embrace her psychic abilities and who lost her mother to a "suicide". Then meeting a shape shifter after the "evil one" comes into the picture trying to find the pieces of two. A whirlwind of a romance, with evil trying to kill humans splashed in. I recommend this book to everyone, and I can't wait to read more.

I LOVED this book. It was a classic "written in the stars" romance with a little paranormal shape shifting thrown in. The book started off with a bang and kept my interest though out! Though my mind kept telling me it was too soon for the couple to fall in love, I couldn't maintain the skepticism because the story just felt right. I have always been a huge fan of romantic mystery. Its only recently that I have become interested in paranormal and urban fantasy. This book managed to have it all for me. All in all for my first read by this author, I was very pleased and plan on reading more.

I am always a little cautious about paranormal romances, probably because of the Twilight effect – namely, that after the success of Twilight the market was flooded with teen paranormal romance titles, often of dubious quality. As a result, anything with vampires, especially, usually has me running for the hills. On that note, Linked was a pleasant surprise, with not a vampire to be seen. Evil spirits and shapeshifters, yes, but not vampires.

The book is short, and this is both a curse and a blessing. A blessing because it’s refreshing to have a well thought-out story expressed with so few superfluous words and scenes; a curse because I felt that some aspects of it should have been fleshed out more. The romance aspect, without giving too much away, felt a little rushed – while a connection like that in the short space of time in which the story takes place doesn’t bother me in itself, I didn’t really feel the relationship. Perhaps if more space was allocated to the feelings of the characters, their yearnings, confusion, maybe even fighting against the surprising strength of their attachment, it would have felt more convincing.

In addition, I would have liked more exposition about the evil spirit that is stalking the heroine, because that also felt underdone. Perhaps more elaboration on the spirit’s history and why it took the prophecy so seriously might have helped. I quite liked the lack of information at the start because it felt more mysterious and made me want to read more, but by the end I still felt that spelling it out more would have been useful. As this is the first book in a series, though, it’s likely that I just need to read more books to find out what I thought was missing. :)

That said, though, it was an entertaining read – easy, engrossing and well written. The story was well thought out and had enough suspense for me to keep turning the pages (or hitting the “next page” button on my kindle – but you know what I mean) to find out what happened next. The characters were solid and believable and the premise well thought out. If you are looking for a decent, quick read with a bit of suspense and paranormal themes, I can recommend this book wholeheartedly.

Linked proved to be a short, but entertaining, read. This story has a great deal of romance, suspense and supernatural elements that hold your attention the whole way through! One thing I really appreciated about this book was that the story and characters flowed well, and nothing felt too forced--although things did progress rather quickly between the characters romantically, but there is a valid reason for it.

Lana and Cole are the main characters in this story who start off as strangers but become so much more. They both have secrets and special abilities, and when they cross paths they find themselves up against an ancient evil that can only be stopped by them. Lana and Cole have really great chemistry, and I enjoyed reading about them as they fell in love and discovered more about one another. Plus, they have some very steamy moments in this book that prove just how hot they are together, so prepare to fan yourself while reading this! I also really like Cole's personality, his confidence and sureness really helped balance Lana's cautious demeanor.

The villain in this novel is easy to hate, just as Lana and Cole are so easy to like. At times I found myself laughing at this malevolent being, who is referred to as "The Evil One". For me, he was a mixture of creepy, evil and a little amusing. He's the kind of guy you'd picture in a dark, dank cave somewhere, rubbing his hands together and laughing his evil laugh in an almost comical way. Overall, the paranormal aspects surrounding him and the other characters were pretty interesting.

There's closure at the end of the book, but it's the kind where you have just enough to picture in your mind how the future of the characters could play out. I was definitely happy with the path that Lana and Cole ended up on!

I was given a free copy in exchange of an honest review.

I don't know how to put into words my thoughts and feelings about this book.
It could have been a much better reading if the story were longer and the author had given us more time and many more details about everything. The characters, the evil lurking out there, anything useful to make us understand better the evil one's intentions and motivations. It wasn't very clear why he went after Lana in the frst place. It was like I started reading the book by the middle of the story and not from the beginnning.
It also felt too rushed. How the story unfolded, how Cole and Lana's relationship developed. I didn't even had time to really connect to the characters. And I was annoyed by how easily they both got angry when things didn't go how they wanted. Like spoiled children.
I started to like them toward the end. Actually, I kind of already liked Cole from the beginning, but he still annoyed me a little at times. I started to like Lana toward the end mostly.
The story would have been very good if better developed. The plot was interesting and intriguing. I also admit that I enjoyed some parts, and especially some HOT parts of the book. And I kind of liked how passionate and "hungry" Cole was with Lana. But it lacked some things that would make me rate a book 3 or more stars.
It only reached 2.5 stars in my opinion. And I'm not even sure I'd read the next books in this series. I'll have to think of it.

Fated For Each Other?

This series must her read in order. This is the first book. I can't wait to read Holding The Link!

I was disappointed when this book was finished. I wanted more... The characters were real and totally likable. The action was fast paced and had good flow. The sex scenes were so well integrated into the plot the story could not have done without them. I can't see this book as erotica but that is not a bad thing. I guess if you wanted to it could be classed as tame erotica but personally I don't see it. Overall I would class this book as exceptional paranormal romance or maybe urban fantasy. Every true writer has their own voice and i truly enjoy Hopes! This book is for adults and as an adult I highly recommend it :)

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy paranormal romance with a dash of Fate and a bit of horror :)

What would it be like to discover you're being hunted, your love interest is a shifter... And your unwanted psychic powers are growing?

An apartment break-in turns into something much darker for Lana Summers. Fortunately, she's got help - a good Samaritan who's also a shifter. Whether that will be enough to defeat the evil that pursues her... Well, heck, this is a romance so you can probably guess the ending.

Nicely handled sensuality - erotic but not a blow-by-blow account. The author found a good middle ground with her sex scenes.

This is a quick read, and people who enjoy paranormal romance (heavy on the romance) will enjoy this book.

Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review (LOP).

I'm going back and forth in my mind debating between 2 and 3 stars, maybe 2.5 stars is more accurate. I thought this book had a lot of potential, I liked Lana and Cole's characters. I thought the plot was interesting and I'm all about a were "insta-love" soul mate type relationship. The Evil One was creepy and I could almost hear that classic creepy/stocker/evil villain voice in my mind. Mostly the low stars is I felt the book wasn't long enough. It seemed rushed. I would have liked to get to know the characters better and have more time to really lose myself in the plot.

I really enjoyed this this book and was sad when it was over....I can't wait to read the next one! I wouldn't classify it as erotica but more paranormal romance. There is no gratuitous sex, it was definitely integral to the story line. Its fast paced and the story draws you in so that you don't want to put it down. I can't wait to see what else Hope has in store for these characters!

Lana wakes up to hear someone in her apartment. She runs into Cole trying to get away from her attacker. Cole sees the attacker but he disappears. There is something strange happening and he is determined to keep Lana safe. Legends, psychics, shape-shifters abound in this book.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a relatively quick read that paranormal lovers are sure to enjoy.

I enjoyed this supernatural romance. Without giving too much away, you do need to suspend some disbelief regarding how quickly the romance comes together, but that's part of the premise. The plot moves quickly, and the main action is exciting. Looking forward to more from this author!

very monotonous.

While not a horrible plot, the story lacked any emotion. The monotony of the pages simply bored me to no end. In fact, I think it's one of the only times I've ever read about sex as if we're the ingredient list on the cereal box.

Neither of the main characters interested me. Whatshername was whiney, childish, boring. I'm still having a hard time believing she was supposedly near 25 years old. As I'm a year younger, I can honestly say that if I suddenly found myself the main interest of a freaky red eyed demon shifter, I would not act like this. And by this I mean ignorant, stupid and childish. She has this psychic ability and while I won't lie and say it wouldn't bother me at all to suddenly have them, I wouldn't throw a fit if they were my bet weapon to stay alive. Sure, I understand her unwillingness to too see tragedies while knowing she can't prevent them. But that's not what happens. She reads his mind. He offers to help her learn her limits. She freaks. Throws a temper and yes I did imagine stomping her foot and pouting much like my 4 year old does. "I don't wanna. Don't wanna. No. Wah hah. Boo hoo." This is the point right before they have sex for the first time. One minute she's behaving like a child and the next she's getting naked. ??? If I were a guy(which would totally be bad as I'd be one of the ass while drummer ladies hate to love *wink wink) I just wouldn't want to be with a woman so heinously immature and petty. Your mom dies and you don't want to go through her thighs because the memories hurt. I get that. But you also want to find clues so you know you don't end up getting wacked by a crazy immortal evil wolf. Or maybe that's just my opinion.

I'm ranting and I apologize. I simply dislike this chick so much. Ugh. If she were a real person id probably end up glowering at her or sending one raised brow frowns in her direction. I mean come the h. E. Double hockey sticks on.

And the evil one? Is this shiiii for real? He didn't seem evil at all to me. He sounded like a mentally screwed up immortally young kid who had lived millennia and had too much money and time in his hands. Evil? Hmm. Not really. I mean he sounded like a bored billionaire trying to take over a tea party or something. These weak opponents? I will win. I will win. I will give them the means to fight me. Ohhhhkay. Whatever.

I've ranted long enough. This book bored me. Annoyed me. And now I'm out.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP).

I really liked the beginning of Linked. There was action, mystery, and intrigue. I was thrown right into the story, and I loved that. I was excited to read a shifter story because I haven’t read one in a while, but sadly after the great opening, things started to go downhill for me.

There were a few things that bothered me. I’ll list the main ones below.

1. I’m a huge fan of insta-love, but in this case it was way too insta. The entire story happened in just over 48 hours.

2. A good chunk of the middle of the book was Lana and Cole having sex. I’m all for a good love scene, but this was a bit explicit for me, but that’s just my taste. I admit I wasn’t expecting it at all. Given the story happens in such a short time frame, I thought maybe they’d be a little more concerned about the evil lurking in the shadows, and I didn’t feel any of these scenes added to the progression of the plot.

3. The Evil One was not all that evil. He talked a lot about being evil, but he never really did anything evil. The fight scene at the end was a bit disappointing. I was all prepared for a great battle, and it was over in a few paragraphs.

4. I like free excerpts of the next book, but in this instance I felt a little ripped off, and here’s why. I got to around 70% on my iPad and I thought I had a good 30% of story to go. Then everything was over by 78%. It ended so suddenly I was a bit annoyed. The other 28% was a preview for the next book, and another book. I thought I was getting more story than I actually got, and I personally would have preferred a link to the preview for the next book so I could choose to read it if I wanted to.

Over all I enjoyed Linked. It was written relatively well with only a few minor spelling and grammar mistakes (that I noticed), but I think it was way too short. There is so much room for more details, character building and plot advancement.

Despite all my misgivings, I’m interested to find out what happens in the next book.

REVIEWED FOR SWOON WORTHY BOOKS

There is such a fine line between critiquing and reviewing and since I am an author I tend to lean more towards critiquing, so I’ll try to stick to the things a reader would want to know.

This author is fabulous with her words! She knows how to write dialogue that makes her characters come alive and the flow of her scenes is flawless. At times the wording can be too obvious and over stated, but that’s my only complaint with the writing because I really think she is a natural with her words.

This is more of a short story, which is a shame because the story is rushed and the relationship between Cole and Lana develops so quickly and intensely the reader doesn’t have a real emotional investment in it. Lana is a psychic who is just discovering her powers and Cole is a shape shifter. I like the POV of The Evil One, but this is where the wording/thinking of the character becomes very obvious and unrealistic. I think hearing less from his POV would actually be more in this case. The plot is interesting and has really great potential, but not fully developed because of the lack of length. There is a lot of sex in such a short story which took away from the plot, but again, if it was longer this may not be an issue.

Technical issues would be the formatting and some spelling errors that can be properly addressed by a professional editor. I am not one to harp on things like this unless the grammar and spelling errors are constant which they aren’t.

Since this is a quick read and the author knows how to work with words I would recommend this because it is a series and I have high hopes for the next book. I love paranormal romance and this is right up my alley. I am not one to waste my time on stories if they aren’t worth it, but I really like this author’s talent and am looking forward to seeing how her writing has developed. I would rate the writing a 4, the plot a 3.5, and the story/character development a 3. My final rating is a 3.5 because with the book as it stands I would say it’s ok, but worth it for someone looking for a good quick read.

Linked had such great potential. As an avid fan of the fantasy/paranormal genre, a book about a psychic, a shapeshifter and an epic evil being sounded right up my alley. And with only 130 pages, I was also anticipating a fast paced story with some good action. Unfortunately, I was disappointed on all fronts.

Linked is the story of Lana, a reluctant psychic who is being pursued by an evil being intent on her destruction due to a prophecy that foretells she is one key to ending his immortality. While being pursued, she runs into the arms of Cole, a private detective and shapeshifter who is immediately intent on protecting Lana and solving the mystery of her pursuer.

Sounds like the setup to a pretty interesting storyline, doesn't it? I thought so too. Where this book goes wrong is that it takes place over a 48-hour period. Not only do we have insta-love, we also get insta-acceptance of newly discover paranormal powers, insta-acceptance that her boyfriend is a tiger, insta-deciphering of a very cryptic and vague prophecy, insta-destruction of a millennia old being, and yes, even insta-pregnancy. That's quite a doozy of two days.

I think any author would be challenged to develop sufficient depth and complexity into a story line that ends so quickly after it begins. There is a lack of character development and evolution of their relationship, so it's difficult to feel emotionally vested in the outcome. There were leaps of logic made to drive the plot along that didn't make much sense. Like how does a prophecy that says "When two become one" connect to Lana and Cole, and how do Cole's parents deduce this connection just because Cole can shift into different animals?

This story feels a bit shallow and incomplete. I think if the author invested more pages to fully develop this interesting premise, and extended the timeframe so we could explore the depth and complexity of the characters and the evolution of their relationship, it could be a good story.

Linked by Hope Welsh
Paperback: 222 pages
Publisher: Rom On Line (February 13, 2012)
18+ Adult readers
I was given this book as a gift from a friend through amazon.

Cover~ I love the cover. It is quite interesting! You have the evil one at the top in his wolf form and red eyes. Then at the bottom you have Lana and Cole and on the right you have a clock which is representing a race against time to find out about the murder and the prophecy.

My Review~
I can't wait to read the next book in this series! This book was an amazing fast paced read. I loved it and couldn't put it down, although I do wish it was longer and more filled out. It was a great read that I enjoyed. I love the characters and they were interesting. I loved the banter between them. I was expecting more of a battle between the main characters and the evil in the story that lent to the climax of the book. What the author wrote is great, just feel a little let down from a good fight. The fight between them is great. Wish the part where they had to be linked for her to heal was a little more explained. It felt like one minute celebrating the demise and the next in her bed and her suffering. I'm all for paranormal wolf type stories they are my favorite genre!. This is a great book! I give it a 5 star review. I couldn't put it down.

Read the preview...really good so far....

Okay...after finally downloading the book...I read this is pretty much one sitting b/c is was so SHORT!!!
Hello-the bad guy-talks a big game, but get's it in the end really fast.

This book started off really good, I was really looking forward to reading it, and it was a HUGE disappointment.

Things that went wrong:
1. In less than 3 days they have fallen in love and are basically living together.
2. In less than 3 days they pronounce their undying love for each other.
3. In less than 3 days they have figured out to kill the "evil one" on the fly and get it done.
4. The "Evil One" talks a big game..and talks a bigger game...and then does does little more than stalk the happy in profoundly in love couple.
5. The chick not only get's over being psychic but is also okay that he is a shifter, that shifters are possible, that she shifted b/c she has a bun in the oven (who get this...is also a shifter), etc
6. The story line/characterization, etc just died. It was like Hope Welsh had a really good idea, really got into writing the first 2 chapters, then got bored and loosely tied up all the end and said...that's good enough.

In a nut shell, this is the story..

1. scary bad thing awakens
2. scary bad thing is going to get revenge
3. Girl is psychic-senses scary bad thing
4. boy sees girl trying to excape scary bad thing, and helps
5. boy falls in love with girl & vows to have sex & help her
6. turns out boy is shifter
7. boy and girl have sex
8. girls dead mom's ghost tells her she is preggo
9. scary bad thing shows up, but dies quickly
10. boy and girl live happily ever after.

Enjoy!

Linked was a fantastically written book, full of adventure and a hearty helping of hot, steamy romance. Truth be told, I don't usually care for your run-of-the-mill romance, but this book was one heck of an exception. The love scenes were hot, without being corny or cliche, and they blended in exquisitely with the main story itself. Hope Welsh is a very talented and skilled writer, who portrays her characters in a very realistic, very vivid light, and who spins a story like a spider does a web- meaning, that she traps you into obsessive reading right from the start. I won't give away too many details, but I will say that the ending was fantastic. It was unexpected, to say the least, and it gives me great hopes for the second book- which I am about to go devour much as I did this one. In fact, I devoured Linked in a matter of hours. I simply couldn't put it down. I loved the way that the story mixed a strong element of fantasy into our modern day world. It makes you rethink things, because the story could so very easily be true. There are, after all, so many things that we don't know about the world around us, and I love stories that make me wonder. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance or fantasy. I mean, I don't usually like romance and I loved this one, although I'll totally admit to being an avid fantasy reader. The graphic sex scenes (which were amazingly hot, by the way-or did I already say that?) makes this a book that is not suited towards anyone under the age of eighteen, however.

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange for an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank Hope Welsh, author of Linked for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this fabulous book.

I really enjoyed the fresh concept of this book. Though this book is a Werewolf Genre book but the way the author twisted the known and used plot and story-line really gave this book a totally new taste and new outlook.

The characters are great and well developed and I liked Lana’s character a lot. She has paranormal powers but she is against them, she is witty and her dialogues are crisp and well thought out. I liked Cole as well, he is the sexy Alpha male for whom the girls will go all crazy and he is definitely swoon-worthy. Even the villain is well portrayed!!!

The passionate romance between the main leads brought out new flavors in the story and made it an intriguing read. The sex scenes are so professionally written that they didn't seem all gory and didn't made me puke my guts (that’s a good compliment, I guess). Moreover their chemistry ignited sparks and I loved the pair a lot, made for each other pair!!!

The action scenes are great and I enjoyed them a lot. There is mystery and suspense as well which kept me hooked in the story. The plot is well planned out and the twists made the read more interesting. Over all a great read that surely the Werewolf fans will enjoy!!! Happy reading!!!
