Undone by the Undead

Rate this book
An Ellora's Cave Naughty Nooner story.

The Boston Public Library is lonely in the middle of a snow storm, but Hayden isn’t going anywhere until he gets what he wants - information he can use for a tabloid newspaper article he’s writing. A book on zombie sex rituals promises exactly what he needs to please his boss, who’s convinced the undead are roaming the streets.

Hayden’s been buried in research for so long, he can’t resist the urgent, sexual advances of the smudgy-eyed girl in tattered tights who climbs in through the library window. But is she human, something conjured by his imagination...or a zombie in need of human flesh?

Undone by the Undead is a short erotic story by Isabelle Drake.
This story is about Hayden, an aspiring newspaper reporter, currently writing for a tabloid.
Hayden is researching zombies at the Boston Public Library, during a snow storm. He stumbles upon zombie sex rituals, learning that zombies need to eat flesh or have sex to live. He laughs at the idea, but the book is detailed and includes photos. Hayden decides this is the angle he needs to take and starts making photocopies before heading out into the storm. A young woman crawls in through a window, wearing a tight top, short skirt, and stockings. She’s not wearing a jacket and doesn’t appear to be cold. She appears uninterested in Hayden until she discovers he’s the only person, other than security, in the library. She asks about his research and he explains the story idea and how he needs something new or will lose his job. Hayden emails his boss with the story angle, just as the lights go out. The girl seduces Hayden, on the table and next to his laptop and research. In the heat of the moment, her eyes glow neon green. When they’re finished, she thanks him and sneaks back out the window. The next morning, Hayden wakes up realizing he didn’t write the story and forgot to call his girlfriend. When he calls his boss, he’s surprised to hear that he got a bonus for his hard work and is commended on his photoshop skills. He goes online to find the girl posted their sexual encounter and the glowing green eyes are front and centre, making it look like he cracked the zombie sex story. He calls his girlfriend, who is thrilled that he has a freaky side and is on her way over to play.
The story was okay, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The writing was good, the story line was original, but the plot and sex scenes were just okay.

This short story had atmosphere galore and what every kitchy-horror fan wants from a romance -- two sensitive souls connecting but there's that 'uh-oh' feeling of something bad about to shatter their brief little cocoon. I think this is the beginning of her longer zombie novel. Luff Drake's writing!

THis was a little different than what I am used to. But I actually found myself liking it.

I will say though that I wanted a different ending. I don't want to spoil it for anyone...but yeah that would be my only complaint.

Yeah, this was more of a disappointing freebie. I didn't really like the characters or the main basis of the story. Not my type of thing morally, and the whole thing kinda reminded me of a cheesy grade movie. Low class feeling. Good luck
