CRUZ'S SALVATION by Stacey Kennedy

Together, Kiara and Cruz will have to fight against the rules placed upon them to hold onto their love. But an unwanted visitor creates a complication neither of them planned for. Milo, Kiara’s chosen mate, has come to stake his claim. Now, not only are lives at risk, but hearts are threatened and dreams hang in the balance.

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. Once Bitten, Bound Forever is by two fantastic authors that writes fun and hot stories. Together they bring you two different stories with great storylines and hot sexy characters. Both stories are tied tighter, I have never read anything like it, it felt like one author wrote them both, yep, that’s how this book flowed for me. I devoured both stories in just a few hours.

The first story by Eve is very emotional. The heroine in an abusive relationship and cant seem to find a way out. I felt Eve done fantastic job writing with the story not many authors can write something like this in a novella and still be able to feel the pain and sorrow then felt the connection to the hero so she can have her joy. Eve never goes into the abuse just mentions it, but it still can be hard to read.

The second story by Stacey is smoking. This story is awesome!! What books I have read by Stacey I have always found a connection between her main characters, but this story was even better. I felt the connection between these two right off the bat and it never stopped and the sex is freaking hot. *still fanning self*

Recommend to any fan of Stacey Kennedy and Eve Langlais and for those who loves erotic paranormal romance with a couple of hot male vampires who loves their shape-shifter wolf women.

Stacey's story has no anal or anything taboo in it, but they connection and the heat between the two characters is like none I have felt in a long time. So, I have to give this the book the Scorcher award.

My hat goes off to both ladies!

Brilliant Writing! HOT EROTICA!

Wow, the first anthology I have ever read where I gave each story a 5 star rating. This is one book you will not be able to put down. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I absolutely positively loved it! Both authors’ did an excellent job expressing their meaning of Once Bitten, Forever Burned when it came to the mixture of dealing and choosing a relationship between a were-wolf and a vampire. The erotic scenes were fantastically written and had me squirming in my seat with arousal. The action of violence was all about survival and protection of the loving mate. The characters swept me away with their passion and my heart wept for them through the sadness as well as it raced with excitement with the happy ending. Absolutely Brilliant!

This book was horrible. I gave it a shot because I like most of Eve Langlais' work, but this one was bad. It felt as if the story were thrown together in under an hour. The hero goes to war, gets turned into a vampire, and then returns to the love of his life 10 YEARS LATER! And she accepts him immediately and they act as if they have only been apart for a short period of time. They jump right back in head first talking about how much they love each other etc. Did I mention that when he returns she is now a werewolf??? Ugh. It was just beyond cliché and so very lame. No story or character depth whatsoever. Waste of my time.

Review: Ok im going to start with, Devons Redemption as its the first story in the book. It starts off with Devon going off to war and getting him self killed, or so his love Bethany thinks, but it turns out he getting changed into a vampire, you leave him dieing on the battle fild crying out for his love, asking her not to forgetting. The story then jumps ahead ten years, so we can see what Bethany has made of her self, it turns out she has become a vet but she has a secret, she six years before she was attacked by a man and was turned into a werewolf. He then claims her as his mate and he uses her and rapes her and beats her up, i feel so sorry for Bethany because her life ahas been so hard with nothing in it to make her happy.
while Bethany was putting the rubish out she can feel somthing watching her, she thinks its someone sent by Tyson (her mate) to keep an eye on her, but she then gets the shock of her life to see Devon standing in front of her. Its to much of a shock for her, she ends up passing out. When she comes to they talk it out and find out whats been going on, Devon gets all jealous when he finds out she has someone else and pulls her into a hot kiss, (yummy). She breaks away from Devon and makes her way home to Tyson. When Tyson see's her he knows she's been kissed by someone else he walks round her smelling her and then he flips out on her and beats her up..i feel so sorry for her haveing to put up with this.
Devon has to find somewhere to stay while its day light, so he seeks out an old vampire, we dont learn much about this vampire and i think it would be nice if we had but he gives Devon some place to stay but at the same time he warns him what trouble will come if he goes after Bethany. Devon rescues Bethany the next night and theey make love for hours, i will say that this was really hot and sexy.. (wow). after the great sex they go off to sleep but Bethany is woke up by something she cant put her finger on. she goes to seek out whats causeing the discumfort. only to find Tyson waiting for her. Tyson beats Beathany so much for taking off that he kills her and this then leads to Devon wanting revenge. Right im going to leave it there or ill be telling you the full story, but just know that there is twists to this that you wouldnt think of.

I liked this first story in the book, but it did jump just a little bit and i had to reread little bits twice to see what was going on, other then that i think it was a great story and i loved the way it ended, they is so much detail in this story and i do think its worth the read.

Now on to Cruz's Salvation this is the second story in this book, and its the story of one of Devons close friends who was turned into a vampire at the same time as Devon was. He spent a lifetime fillied with suffering and loneliness and despair, untill one night he found Kiara. Kiara is a werewolf who Cruz is forbidden to love. This is such a sad story but is the better of the two in the book. We start off with a very romantic but sexy scene where Cruz is following Kiara through some woods, he's watching her and carving her, while they are both teaseing each other, its so hot i wish i was her. This goes on to a very sexy scene that made my toes curl but they get disrupted because Kirars father all most catches them, its heart breaking when they have to part, looking into each others eyes, yes the big girl that i am i all most cryed. her father thinks Kiara is missing somthing in her life and finds her a mate, who may i add sounds like an ass. her father is just wanting to do the right thing bye her but doesnt realise its the totaly wrong thing... Kiara ends up taking off and finding Cruz. she begs him to find a way to stop whats happening and they end up in bed.. but things get stopped by milo and a big fight breaks out.... Ok ill stop there because i want you guys to read this for your selves. i loved the second story much more then the first. i think you guys sould check them out.!

Read the original review on Paromantasy

Two talented authors that bring all new meaning to sizzling-hot, action-packed, suspenseful page-turning paranormal romance books. The stories are both brilliantly written with a storyline that blends from one work to the other so that you feel that you are reading part one and two of an amazing series!

DEVON’S REDEMPTION by Eve Langlais completely captivated me from the first page. This is the first Eve Langlais work I have read and I cannot wait to read more from her. This is the story of Devon and Bethanny. They were in love and destined to be together until Devon is killed in a war. The problem is that he wakes up a vampire. He loves Bethanny so much, he vows to never see her again so that she may have a chance at a normal life. Bethanny hasn't been the same since she lost Devon. She was heartbroken, but things get even worse when a werewolf turns her and forces her to be his mate. Every day is a living hell, with only thoughts of revenge to keep her going. Their worlds change when Devon restraint wavers and he realizes he has to see Bethanny. When they see each other again, sparks fly and the love they had lives on, but who they are have changed dramatically. Not only are they on opposing sides of the supernatural world, but she is the mate of an Alpha that will not give up easily. Soon they have to make a decision: stay apart to keep the peace or risk it all to be together: including their lives! This is a truly action-packed, romance-filled, tear-jerker of a read that will take you into their world and keep you there until you read "The End"

CRUZ’S SALVATION by Stacey Kennedy takes place in the same world as Devon's Redemption. As everyone who reads this blog knows, I am a huge Stacey Kennedy fan and she did not disappoint. This is a steamy, action-packed thriller that takes you through a rollercoaster of emotion, danger, and sizzling romance. This is the story of Cruz and Kiara. Cruz is a vampire in love with Kiara, an alpha's daughter. They keep their love a secret because of the war between Vamps and Weres, but that doesn't stop how they feel about each other. Unable to see each other often, Kiara gets depressed and her loving alpha father believes it's because she wants a mate and that is when everything goes from bad to worse. When her father chooses a mate for Kiara, she is forced to make the biggest decision of her life: Accept her appointed mate that her father has chosen, or leave everything behind, including her pack and her adoring father, and the wolf inside to be with Devon forever. This is a captivating, sensual, tear-jerker, heart-racing thriller of a read that will leave you begging for more!

This book is rated 5 fangs by Paromantasy.com!

Short stories are always difficult. Whether it is to write them, or to review them. You have just a few pages to get everything you want across, so in general I'm usually not a big fan of them. However, they can usually be an easy read. Overall, this was a fun, sexy short read!

DEVON'S REDEMPTION

If you like stories of lovers reunited, then you'll love this one. Devon and Bethany were in a relationship 10 years ago, when he had to go to war, hoping to come back and marry her. Except destiny had different plans for them. He dies in a battle field, but is...lucky?... to get another chance at life... or is it death?

Fast forward 10 years, and now Bethany is in a bit of a bind. She was turned into a werewolf against her will, and is now forced to be the Alpha mate, who just happens to be an abusive prick. She was physically abused and raped constantly. However, the author does an excellent job making you feel ok with this situation, if not comfortable with it.

And after 10 years apart, Devon is now finally back for her. Now he just has to protect her from her husband and get her away. Their relationship works well for me, specially considering that in a short story there's not a lot of space to develop a true relationship, so the fact that they had a past together made the whole story work.

And the sex scenes were pretty hot! They already knew each other, and what they liked, and I liked the small reference of "we had just started experimenting with this...".

CRUZ'S SALVATION

Cruz was also a soldier alongside Devon, and he died as well 10 years and was given another chance.

His story is completely different, even though it still manages to incorporate the previous one, and it does take place after Devon and Bethany are together.

Cruz is a lone vampire. He had met a girl and fallen in love, except she just happened to be the daughter of a werewolf Alpha. And their species hate each other.

This story was sweeter and had a bit of a "Romeo & Juliet" feel to it, add into that her father has brought in a candidate to be her mate (and when I mean candidate, it's not optional) and things get rushed to happen.

Of course this is still a pretty sexy story, even though Kiara is a virgin, they still manage to be quite creative in their short sexual encounters.

Wow, 2 amazing authors in one book. Both these stories where great! I couldn't put it down. Both books offer forbidden love, were wolfs and vampires, and totally hot sexy scenes!!

Both women really pull you in. You feel so sad for them and want to help them out. The men in the story are amazingly kind and there for them. You get totally sucked in with the emotional factor. And with Devon's story you really wanted to make someone HURT!

If you love paranormal romances then this is the book for you! I know this review is short and all but I really think the stories speak for themselves and it is totally worth picking it up! I give you my guarantee!!

I read the first short story, then I DNF'ed the freebie. Whatever this ss wanted me to understand, I clearly failed. I can't accept abuse and a "plot" in which the saving came from outside. Life might be like this, but I don't read PNR (nor fantasy) because I want normal. :O
Believable, yes, normal, no.

This is a smoldering anthology featuring two of today's exciting young authors and features two friends, made vampire on the battlefield, searching for redemption. Through the love of two women forbidden to them through prejudice and fate, they find the happiness they've been searching for by committing the ultimate sacrifice.

This first story in this collection is Devon's Redemption by Eve Langlais and is probably my more favorite of the two. Devon and Bethany had a love they thought would last forever, but after his change on the battlefield and her being violently claimed by and changed into a Lycan they now appear to be lost to each other forever. This is an intensely emotional read with Bethany going through much more trauma than Devon. She's been mentally, physically, and sexually assaulted by her Lycan mate Tyson and seeing that brutality makes you ache for her. She refuses to give up and I applaud the strength she showed in getting away from Tyson. She's a worthy heroine. Devon is strong and sexy and is very accepting of his vampirism. There's no bemoaning his situation like some vampires do and it's refreshing to see. With some short stories you feel cheated when it comes to the relationship. Sometimes the word count doesn't allow for a relationship to be fully explored, but because these two have a past I could easily understand them coming back together so quickly. Their sexual interludes are steamy and perfectly spaced throughout the story so that the storyline flows smoothly. The ending definitely makes you feel that there's more to this story with an intriguing world full of stories still to be told. My individual grade for this is an A.

The other story in this collection is Cruz's Salvation by Stacey Kennedy and involves a Romeo and Juliet kind of storyline where Cruz the vampire is forbidden to claim the only woman he loves because she's a Lycan. Kiara is that Lycan and at times seems very immature. She keeps expecting Cruz to fix everything and doesn't have the backbone to stand up to her father about what she truly wants. In that respect she's a much weaker heroine than Bethany. She's had an easy life which encourages her immaturity. Cruz is honorable and strong and willing to sacrifice much for Kiara's safety and happiness. He's a carbon copy of Devon and it's easy to see why they're friends. Having Devon show up in the story is a nice way to tie the two stories together and the ending leaves possibilities for the future. The relationship doesn't feel as strong as the previous couples. And I think it is because of Kiara's immaturity that their relationship doesn't ring true. There's no equality between the two and I don't feel as strong of a connection. My individual grade for this is a B+.

This was an entertaining anthology and I can't help but think that the world these characters inhabit would make a great series. The battle between the Vampires and Lycans would make a great foundation to a series and if that happens then I'll definitely be in line for more stories.

Once Bitten, Forever Burned was a very sensual and romantic anthology that made a quick little read by two great authors.

In Devon’s Redemption by Eve Langlais we meet Devon, a former soldier who died overseas leaving the only woman he’s ever loved behind. Miraculously he doesn’t perish there though; instead he is reborn into a vampire. Fearing he may put her in danger, Devon stays away from his love for ten long years until he can stand it no more and goes to visit her. The woman he finds though is a drastically different one then the one he left.
Forced into being a lycan and the mate of an alpha, Bethany has been beaten and abused for the last six years. When her one true love shows up, back from the dead, Beth thinks that she can finally have the revenge she has been seeking on her mate and a new start in life; but if he can’t have her, no one can.

The second story, Cruz’s Salvation by Stacey Kennedy, feature’s Devon’s best friend and brother-in-arms, Cruz. Roaming the world alone Cruz has never experienced love until he meets Kiara. But a relationship between a wolf and a vampire is forbidden so they meet secretly for months. When Kiara begs for him to finally take her though Cruz realizes that he must make a decision, either take Kiara away from everything she knows to be with him or leave her all together so that she may go on with her life.
Being the alpha’s daughter, Kiara knows that falling for a vampire would be considered treason but she can’t help how her heart feels. Having to sneak around and hide her feelings for Cruz begins to take their toll on her however and thinking Kiara’s sadness comes from the lack of a mate, her father arranges her to bond with another alpha. Unable to even contemplate being with any other male besides Cruz, Kiara runs to him begging him to take her away. When they’re found together though things turn deadly and Kiara must choose between the two men she loves most in this world.

I went back and forth between a 3.5 and 4 with this one but I’m sticking with the 4 because both stories flowed so well together. Each was full of romance, action and desire with plenty of smexy scenes heating up the pages. They were both great reads but I really loved Cruz’s, it was much more amorous while most of Devon’s story was heart breaking, I liked how they both tied into each other so well though. The characters and relationship were well developed and the suspense had me eagerly turning the pages.
A great bite of erotic paranormal romance!

After reading YA books for the last month, I was starving for some romance. I felt like an addict having withdrawals and this book served as a quick injection. I finished the book in one night before going to bed! I’ve never read any books by either of these authors before, but I can say I thoroughly enjoyed these short stories. Both authors managed to make the characters alive and special in such a short novella.

In Devon’s Redemption, Bethany, despite being in an abusive relationship for the last six years, is a strong heroine. She never gave up and held out hope for escaping. Eve Langlais didn’t really hold back in describing Bethany’s situation. I admired Bethany for standing up for herself. Her story is very emotional for such a short novella. I’m a fan of second chance love stories and vampires, so I really liked this one, especially when Devon refused to let her go. There’s not a lot of world-building since it’s such a short story, just basic vampire versus werewolves, but there’s enough background that readers wouldn’t be lost.

In the second story, Cruz loves Kiara, but werewolves and vampires are enemies never meant to be together. The characters weren’t as well developed for this one, I thought. Kiara and Cruz had already fallen in love and it’s mostly about them overcoming the obstacle that separates them. I liked how the author handled the conflict and you can really see Cruz trying to do what’s best for Kiara, but I didn’t really understand why Kiara loves Cruz so much other than that you’re just told so. For such a short novella, it’s still pretty good and I enjoyed the interactions between Kiara and Cruz.

Both authors are really good at the smexy scenes! With so few pages, they still made the sex scenes smoking hot and used them to form connections between the characters! I’d recommend this book if you’re looking for something quick and romantic with vampires and werewolves.

What a wonderful anthology! This is a quick paced novella containing 2 paranormal stories. Even though the stories are by different authors, they share some similarities. Both are about forbidden love between werewolves and vampires, and the heroes in both stories are friends. I love how the stories are linked, and these authors have a similar writing style.

The first story, written by Eve Langlais, is a little more emotional in the fact that it deals with abuse and rape. These issues don't take away from the sweet romance this couple shares though. I really liked the hero's protectiveness and the need to avenge the wrongs that have been done to his one true love.

The second story, written by Stacey Kennedy, is a sweet tale of forbidden love that stems from prejudices. The couple in this story is so cute. They already knew each other when this story started, but I would have liked to have read about when they first met. Of course with being a short story, I realize there was no time for that.

Both of these stories are not only romantic, but also very steamy - as in don't read while your kids are in the same room because you will just feel plain weird! So yeah - a lot of passion, and also some heartache too. Both authors do a wonderful job at making you feel the character's emotions. Also, the characters are extremely likeable. I would love to see these stories in a series, with different characters in each book (but linked like they are in this anthology). I love the pairing of vampires and werewolves - there isn't really too much of that out there (not that I have read anyway). I would also like to read more about Kiara's dad (featured in Stacey's story). He is such a nice, caring man that deserves to find another love. In Eve's story, I'd like to read more about the vampires. I really liked the head vampire in this story, and I think it would be interesting to find out more about the other vampires that live in his home.

This dualogy written by two different authors and tied together by the theme and the connection between the two heroes offered up two superb reads. Both also addressed the forbidden romance theme by making the h/h from two separate warring species- vampires and werewolves. They were both tender and steamy love stories that tugged at my heart because I enjoyed the characters too.

The first story tells of Devon and Bethany. Devon left home and his girl to fight in the military only to take a hit, die on the battlefield and rise to become a monster from his own nightmares. He stays away from home as long as he can before he finally goes back needing to see how Bethany gets on, but dreading that she is with someone else.
Ten years of Bethany's life have gone by since Devon died, but so much has changed. She lives each day in dread and misery since one fateful night six years before. She is no longer what she once was and she is with a possessive abusive creature who won't let her go.
Devon learns of the situation and resolves that he will protect and love Bethany like he should have done before. Things are not simple and the male who had her once her back.

The second story is about Cruz and Kiara. Cruz is a vampire and Kiara the alpha wolf's daughter. Their love must be kept secret and they must meet in the shadows. Kiara's father notices her melancholy and misinterprets it. He thinks her wolf nature pines for a mate (which is true, but not fully true) so he finds her a worthy mate and insists she complete the bonding. Kiara's situation has now become desperate so she runs to Cruz. This leads to the confrontation they were dreading when their love is discovered.

This is probably one of the few times that I can say both are well worth the read and I enjoyed both equally.
These stories would appeal to most Paranormal Romance fans and definitely to those who like these writers.

*WARNING*
Do NOT attempt to read while cooking.

I completely love this book. Why? You may ask . . Well, because you get a story told by two amazing women.

To start the story off we discover that something terrible has happened, Brittany who lost her one true love has gone on to suffer even greater at the hands of a very ugly man. Deciding to fight on and hope for her own revenge one day, Brittany tries to maintain somewhat of a normal life for herself. Hard to do when things have changed so much in just ten short years. Going about her "normal" day to day routine didn't include seeing a *ghost*. (Ok, so maybe not REALLY a ghost, but . . ) Now Brittany wonders . . if she may just have a chance at that slice of happiness she was sure had withered away.

Rolling into the second part of this book . . We meet Kiara. The daughter of an Alpha, she shouldn't "want" for anything . . and she doesn't, not really. Kiara believes she has found the one, her true love. That thought in itself should make her happy, but it doesn't. Her alpha father would never approve. Seeing his daughter becoming more unhappy with each passing day, daddy dearest decides to do something about it . . . arrange a mate for her. This doesn't go over very well, and becomes a scramble to figure out a way to be with the one she loves and not her intended.

Both of the stories just pour off the pages. Emotions take over and it's hard to NOT feel what each woman is going through. You may even find yourself wanting to reach out and give a knowing squeeze.

Like a good recipe, this book has all the required ingredients and has them in the right amounts. Starting with the emotionally pull right down to the heat factor.

Perfect for a lazy afternoon, in your favorite reading spot . . sipping a tall glass of iced tea.

Once Bitten, Forever Burned is an anthology involving two stories by two different authors. These two stories deals with forbidden love between a vampire and a werewolf and their struggles to be together. The first of the anthology is Devon's Redemption by Eve Langlais and the second story is Cruz's Salvation by Stacey Kennedy. As you read these short stories you can see a connection between the two, but they can very well be stand alone reads. Goodreads provided a thorough summary description for both stories so I won't regurgitate it.

Devon's Redemption was a very emotional read, yet it had its sexy moments. This story is darker compared to Cruz's Salvation as it deals with physical abuse and mentions of rape. My heart just broke for Bethany throughout the story; she was truly a tortured heroine as her life was made into a living hell by her maker. But rest assured she does get her revenge and a HEA with her man, Devon. The second short story, Cruz's Salvation was probably my favorite out of the two. It was hot, action-packed, and well-written. Cruz and Kiara's story was truly a paranormal spin of the classic Romeo and Juliet tale. Cruz is the Vampire and Kiara is the daughter of the Alpha. Both are fiercely in love, but are forbidden to be together and so their secret love affair begins. However, rest assured that these two lovers did not have a tragic ending except for a happily ever after.

Overall, I applaud both of these authors on two stories well-written. The characters were well-developed in both stories as well as the plot and storyline. The pace for both was good the the stories flowed smoothly. They were both entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed reading each of them. With that said, I would highly recommend this anthology for those looking for a good and sexy read to occupy their time.

Devon's Redemption

As a general rule, I love love love Eve Langlais' writing and this story was right up there with her longer books for me. Ultimately, this was Bethany's story, though. Her harrowing experience at the hands of her "mate" was what propelled it into eye-popping territory. Devon's reappearance in her life after she'd thought him dead and gone gives her a dash of hope. The fact that he thinks it's best to walk away because of what he is (not knowing about her situation with the pack) was heartbreaking and had me shaking my head. Frankly, it worked for me on a lot of levels. I liked Bethany. I like Devon. I liked the vampire master. I just liked the story.

Cruz's Salvation

I'm almost ashamed to admit that this is my first foray into Stacey Kennedy's work. The good news is that it won't be my last. It was naughty enough to make me smile plus I'm a sucker for the star-crossed lovers who are willing to give up everything to keep their significant other happy. I loved the crossover between the characters from the first story and I liked the ending because everything didn't turn out peachy-keen fine between the vampires and the werewolves. I like a little darkness with my books and this one hit the spot. Actually, both stories hit the spot in that regard.

Well, this was a nice mix of vampires and werewolves. As the descriptions indicate, this is actually two novellas in one book. Although they are separate stories by two different authors, the characters are connected. It made for quite a unique reading experience.

Devon’s Redemption was probably my favorite of the two. Devon and Bethany were young lovers before Devon left to go to war and never returned. Bethany ended up going through her own traumatic experience beyond thinking Devon was killed. This story is about their journey back to each other. It was also about their denial and final acceptance of what they had become. It was a total different take on the paranormal romance and I liked it.

In Cruz’s Salvation, Kiara and Cruz were caught up in forbidden love. They had to fight – literally – to be together. I liked their story too, but the way they ended up finally together was almost tragic.

The stories are tied together by the relationship between Cruz and Devon. They were turned vampires at the same time and had remained friends. These stories just give you a taste at both of these authors’ writing. Just enough to make me want to see what else they’ve been up to. :)

This book contained two stories by two separate authors. They both were good although much too short to really build a story. I gave this a try becdause I love the author Eve Langlais. In her story I thought the bad guy died way too quickly after all the years of abuse and torture of the Heroine. Reader beware in Eve Langlais story there is discussion about the Heroine being raped repeatedly by the bad guy and she spends most of the first chapter getting the crap beaten out of her. There ended up being a "Happy Ending" for all the couples but the topics of domestic abuse were pretty heavy on my heart and I think the story needed to be longer to work out all the Heroine's issues.

This was a great short read! Devon goes off to war leaving behing his true love Bethany. While over seas they think they are winning a battle and then are attacked by vampires. They tell Bethany he is dead and no body was found, so she has to bury an empty casket. She goes on with her life and 4 years later she is working at her vet clinic when she hears someone at the door, he as major wounds and she tries to save him. While she is working on stitching him up he comes to and attacks her. She wakes in Tyson's home and tells her she belongs to him now, his mate. For years he abuses her and sleeps with all kinds of women while keeping her on a short leash.

Its been 10 years since she saw Devon, of course she thought he was dead. He couldn't stay away from the one he loved anymore. When he returns to her he finds what all she has been through and that she is still being abuses. He knows something is different about her but can't place it. He tells her that he loves her and never should have allowed her to think he was dead. He leaves so she can go home but he isn't leaving for good without her. As soon as Bethany comes in Tyson smells another man on her and beats her, he is about to rape her when other pack members come in with 2 blonde bimbos for him to screw. Bethany is thankful and goes and gets cleaned up all the while trying to figure out how to leave and be with Devon again.

The next day at the clinic she is very distracted by Devon never shows. Thinking he abandoned her again she sits outside and starts to cry. As the sun goes down she senses Devon. After her story of what happened she senses Tyson close by but Devon picks her up and runs with her to the masters house. They make love for the first time in years. When he goes to sleep she feels something is wrong. Tyson is there and is threatening to burn the house down with them in it if she doesn't come out. He has killed 2 gaurds and she knows she will be next. She comes out and he attacks her.

When Devon wakes he smells blood Bethany's blood. The master tells him what has happened and he thinks Bethany is dead and he vows to kill Tyson and all his pack. The other vamps go with him and they haved killed several when they close in on Tyson. But Bethany appears and Devon is so happy to see her he lets her have the revenge she deserves. They kill Tyson together..

Fast paced story full of good sex scenes.

When u purchase this you also get Cruz's Salvation by Stacey Kennedy

Cruz is Devon's friend in Once Bitten, Forever Burned. Cruz and Devon were in the war together and were changed at the sametime. He was his mortal friend and now they are both vampires.

Cruz and some other vampires came together to help the werewolves with a problem and he meets the Alpha's daughter Kiara. They fall in love but have to meet in secret because they are suppose to be enemies. Kiara is also a virgin and wants Cruz to be her first, but he refuses to go that far with her until they can be together for good. That isn't good enough for Kiara everytime they meet she teases him and wants him and he is losing all control. He tells her he will leave her with a climax so she will have that to remember him by when they are apart. Just as they finish their fun she senses her dad the Alpha of the pack coming to find her. Adric tells her he knows something is wrong, that she's lonely. He thinks she is lonely for her wolf mate. She can't bring herself to tell him the truth. He takes her home and has Milo waiting to meet her. He is the Alpha of another pack and who she is to bond with. She gets upset and runs out of the house and shifts to wolf. She goes straight to Cruz's cabin to tell him the news.

He can't handle the thought of someone else claiming her, touching her, because they are suppose to be together. He tries to talk her into going home that if they do this it will be the last time she can see her pack, her father. She thinks he was leading her on that he doesn't love her enough and when she tells him so he loses control. Tells her he loves her more than life, he dreams of her constantly and wants her. Since she is a virgin he tells her the pain is going to be a lot to endure but he will be gently. He tells her they have to do this now before they come looking for her that this way she will belong to him. After several orgasims she can barely move and he tells her they have a visitor. Milo is standing in the bedroom door and goes crazy because Kiara gave her gift to a fucking bloodsucker. A fight breaks out and Cruz know he must kill Milo to keep Kiara safe. As soon as he kills him someone else grabs him by the neck, Adric...

When Kiara comes out of the bedroom to see if Cruz is alive all she sees is a dead Milo. She calls for Cruz and instead of him answering her father does. He tells her to go to a safe place and she refuses. She explains that she has loved him for months and kept it a secret. That she knew what it meant for her and the pack, but she loves him and is happy with him.

Adric tells her he understands but that Cruz must change her right away to take her wolf sent so the pack can't track her. He tells him to leave enough blood in with Milo's for the pack to think she is dead. This way the pack want look for her and it will explain Milo's death. Then they flea to be together.

This was a fast paced book, great read and eventful for the length.

Both stories were nice.
Good for a couple of hours relaxation, but not much more.
I also wasn’t that thrilled about the feeding/sex connection. It became a sort of an unwilling threesome...

Cruz's salvation by Stacey Kennedy
Ever since being turned in to a vampire, Cruz has found little to rejoice in, that all changed the day he met Kiara. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever known and the most unavailable. With the were-wolves and the vampires at war with each other for centuries their love seemed doomed. What could be worse for Kiara than exile from her pack and the father who raised her? She soon finds out, when her loving father assumes she is lonely and finds her a suitable mate in a neighboring pack.
This was a cute story. Cruz was sexy sweet and just a yummy package. The story was short and sweet, but it packed a little .heartfelt story inside. You felt felt for the Romeo and Juliet stricken couple and couldn't help but fall in to the story.
Devon's redemption by Eve Langlais
After leaving the woman he loved to fight a war he cared nothing about Devon winds up not only losing the love of his life but his life too. Figuring Bethany would never accept him for the monster he became, the vampire he is, he never returned to her. Only too then find himself outside her vet clinic ten years later. Devon knows he should walk away but the pull of her is stronger than his will. But can she except him for what he has become?
Bethany can't believe her eyes, Devon is here in front of her in living flesh. She know she should make him leave for his safety as well as his own but she kisses him anyway. She must not get carried away because she never wants Devon to found out that she is the mate of an awful ware-wolf who bit her and changed her six years ago. Even now she lives in fear of him wondering daily if today he will beat or rape her? If Devon ever knew that she was soiled he'd surly turn his back on her.
This was a cute little story. I liked the deep connection the main characters have. I also loved how bad ass and helpful the head vampire was for them. The ending was perfect.
I think both story's were good. I liked how each story had characters that crossed over in each.story. This was a nice quick novella.

This is a short anthology consisting of two stories both set in the same world. The first story is Devil’s Redemption by Eve Langlais. Ten years ago Devon left to fight in a war that took his life and gave him an unlife. Scared of how his love Bethany would feel about the monster that he became he stayed away from her. Bethany’s life has gone downhill ever since Devon left. The only bright spot is that she became a veterinary doctor with her own practice. She’s in a severely abusive relationship with a man who is more than human who has taken away more than she thought she ever had to give. One night while locking up her office she can’t believe what she sees stepping out of the shadows.

Stacey Kennedy is the author of the second story, Cruz’s Salvation. Cruz was turned into a vampire on the same battlefield that Devon was. They have remained friends over the past ten years. Cruz has found himself in a situation that he sees no happily ever after coming to him. He has fallen in love with an Alpha werewolf’s daughter. Kiara wants to be with Cruz, but the longtime vampire/werewolf feud is keeping them apart. Her father also expects her to become the mate of another Alpha. Her bloodline dictates only the best for her. In her father opinion a bloodsucking bottom feeder will never do.

Both of these stories are great. I really enjoy they two authors writing. This anthology is novella sized. I was amazed that due to the length of both stories I was given so much. There was romance, scorching hot sex scenes, strong relationship development and great action. The characters fleshed out extremely well. I couldn’t stop the page turning. Both stories are presented with situations that appear to have no way towards to a happy outcome. This book is an AWESOME buy at just $0.99!

Poignant and bittersweet short stories about soldiers whose ultimate sacrifice forces them into an unlife they never imagined and for one pushes the woman he loves into a hellish life for the other takes her from an expected life into a life of forbidden love. Like all short stories their shortness bugs me. I don't think there is a vampire/werewolf/lovestory simple enough to thrive within the confines of a short story. But these writers make the best of the format.

The fact that an educated person falls victim to domestic abuse in Once Bitten brings to life the pervasiveness of domestic violence and rape. While in fantasy the victim may be were but in reality anyone of any station in life can end up in the grip of this terror. And in Cruz's Salvation we see how parental love is unconditional and in this case self-sacrificing.

Devon's Redemption

This story had quite a twist. Soldiers, Veterinarians, Werewolves & Vampires. I'm kind of weak when it comes to Abusive Werewolf Alphas. I like my werewolves good & sexy, not evil and ugly. So I didn't enjoy this part of the story. But I did like Devon & Bethany. The tenderness and love he felt for her radiated off the page. The yummy sexy times weren't too shabby either.

Cruz's Salvation
Werewolf meets Vampire. Life is never the same. No werewolf can live up to what Kiara envisions life would be like with Cruz. But there is no way that will happen easily. Cruz won me over immediately. He refused to take Kiara's virginity till he could have her forever. This set up some yummy giving moments by our sensitive vampire.

I picked this book up from the free kindle books on amazon.
I really wasn't impressed with it at all. I couldn't even finish it. At first, I was interested to find out what would happen within the book, but every transition and action scene happened way too fast for me. One minute she a wolf, and then all of a sudden she is turned into a vampire. The story could have been drawn out and more detailed instead of just rushing into the action and transformation. I expected more of an "on the run" type of situation to happen, but instead the vampires are on their way to fight all of a sudden and the major transformation has already happened. I guess I just didn't like the structure of this book...It was too frustrating.
