Ms. Felthouse gives the reader a very satisfying vampire tale of a serendipitous meeting between Meg, a lesbian vampire, and Grace, a young woman alone and out of place in a seedy part of Paris. Meg is a vigilante of sorts drawn to hunt not only to feed but to protect the women of Paris from abduction or much worse from the criminal element skulking its streets. While on a nightly prowl Meg is drawn to Grace and befriends the young woman. Meg learns that Grace has been dumped by her boyfriend amidst claims Grace is boring and sexually unsatisfying in the bedroom.
During this emotional revelation, Meg becomes aware that Grace is the lover she ’s been waiting for. What’s a 193 year old vampire to do? Meg sets about to open the eyes of this young woman to the possibility that she’s not as straight as she thinks and her lack of passion in the bedroom and sexual frustration is because she hasn’t been with the right person.
In quick order, Grace discovers Meg’s true nature and her passion for Meg and the loving she quickly offers. This story line is played out among the exciting backdrop of Paris. Images of the Eiffel tower and the Sacre Coeur on a moonlit nite adds to the emotional depth of the story
On my website I gave it a 4.5. I couldn't do that here. Dark Haven Maven For the complete review go to www.darkhavenbookreviews.com
Very cute, sexy, short vampire story and humorous paranormal romance.
Meg, a vampire, has taken it upon herself to clean out the criminal element in the Pigalle area of Paris.
Grace looks as if she definitely doesn't belong in this part of town. Meg is attracted to how beautiful she is as she sits all alone outside the Starbucks.
After talking together for a while, Grace admits that the boyfriend she moved to Paris with dumped her, telling her she was boring in the sack.
After a walk, Meg shows Grace her fangs. Grace asks her "So you're like a vigilante vampire? Like Blade?!" Priceless! {grin}
Sex in the dome on the top of the Sacré-Coeur building in Paris — can it get any more romantic? A few kisses and some quick F/F oral sex with a vampire bite is all there is time for in this short, 22 page eNovella.
The only thing I didn't like about this story? It was way too short. I think Ms. Felthouse could use this as the basis for a full length novel. As soon as I was finished reading the story, all these questions about the characters came to mind. That's how I know it would make a great novel.
A lesbian vampire with romantic taste in architecture falls for a het chick on the rebound. Meg is a modern day vampire living in Paris who struts her stuff down the Boulevard de Clichy. She preys on the evil and depraved. She’s fueled by anger towards men who are mean or abusive to women. She’s a strong, no-nonsense lady with a good heart and deep sense of compassion. Grace is unsure, hurt badly by a recent break up and feeling lonely, unwanted and unfulfilled.
Meg sees Grace and decides that she likes what she sees and she goes after it. Grace seems mesmerized instantly by the sophisticated, confident Meg. Meg shares her great love of Sacré-Coeur basilica with Grace. They grow closer over coffee and girl-talk. They really click. There’s no significant interpersonal conflict between the lovers as they come together. Most of the conflict is intrapersonal for Grace. She’s feeling poorly about her break up and the fact that her boyfriend didn’t turn her on in bed. She never reached orgasm with him. She worries that she is boring. She’s so confused now.
Meg is all sympathy and Grace is a grateful sponge soaking up the attention. Once the ice is broken about Meg being a lesbian-vampire and having lesbian-vampire desires for Grace, Grace responds eagerly. She didn’t know until right this moment, but this is what she’s always wanted and waited for her whole life, sharing sex with a gorgeous female vampire. The sex is hot and sexily written. Through Meg’s protective and rather dominant lovemaking and their sharing, Grace finds her true strength. The strength to love and be loved.
I really enjoyed this short, sexy story with lots of girl-talk, coffee with a vampire twist in the shadow of Sacré-Coeur. I’d gladly recommend it to others who enjoy paranormal and F/F Romance. If you’re in the mood for an uncomplicated, quick satisfying read with F/F romance, don’t miss Bite With Height.
Pros: The action and pace in this story move quickly, but Lucy Felthouse demonstrates an economy with her language that puts the reader in the moment without lingering on the details. She has a rare ability to trust the reader's imagination to fill in the finer details and thus move the story along. The chemistry between Meg and Grace sizzles, and their interaction flows smoothly from peak to peak.
Cons: Although it was a perfectly realized short, it left me wanting more. A LOT more. This could easily spin out into a full-length novel, or at least a couple more shorts. The end just came too quickly.
Other Thoughts: Forget angsty, whiny vampires: Meg is perfectly comfortable in her skin, and has made a reasonable compromise with her darker nature. Although the story ended on a cliffhanger, I suspect that a sequel's in the offing. Please? With a cherry on top?!
This is an erotic romance between lonely vampire Meg and a confused young human woman called Grace. The story is set in Paris, moving between the seedy Pigalle district and nearby Montmartre, and it has some nice touches.
It's actually a sweet story, but I really wish it had taken more time to develop and deepen the relationship between the two characters. Rather than a hasty evolution, from strangers to lovers, that never feels quite real, a gradual and more intimate interaction would have allowed also for exploration of Meg's history and nature.
That is my principal dissatisfaction with the story. I was also irritated by frequent erroneous paragraph breaks. I'm also unhappy with some of the vampire aspects.
Lesbian vampire trying not to scare an innocent young woman who has been dumped by her boyfriend. I liked these women. Quite a contrast with the innocent youth and the age-old vampire. I also liked the play on words with the title, could go two ways. It was fun watching Meg ramping down her personality and hunger so she wouldn't scare Grace. It was also enjoyable watching Grace grab what she wanted by the end.
super hot, quick read...Miss Felthouse is totally on my autobuy list after this smoking book! My first f/f...and totally not my last if this story is anything to go by.
I have to say, this is so fast. Like vampire-ran-for-miles-in-seconds fast. It left my head whirring.
It could have been better if it's longer enough for them to really trust each other somehow, develop feelings, for Meg to reveal her identity, and then the vampire-turning. This is like a brief outline of how the story would have gone, except being set on a single night.

Against the backdrop of romantic Paris, an unusual love story unfolds. Vampire Meg usually uses the nights to slake her thirst by knocking off the undesirable human predators of Montparnasse. But when she meets Grace, she finds another thirst. My only complaint about this story is that it's waaaay too short! I wanted to know a lot more about both Meg and Grace -- and let's face it, spend more time in the beauties of the City of Lights.

This book was the first book that I read in the genre Fantasy Erotica. And I liked it, even though I wouldn't have thought that!
I think that they are both looking for something new, and fround it with each other.
I have to be honest, it has been since Twilight that I've read about vampires. It took a while to get used to it! 3 star, but good enough to keep reading this genre.
No. Just no. Boring, too fast, unrealistic (it's fiction, i know), just no. Read if u don't have anything else to do, but u could do better without this one.
