Hannah is a new mommy and she’s struggling with her new life. I loved her personality in the beginning she’s quirky, funny, and is a great friend. She’s a HOT MESS like many of us but at times it was overly done. She started seeming over the top and it didn’t feel authentic at times.

And this is why we love fiction ladies and gentleman because our wildest fantasies we never even dreamed of can come true..

The hot, blond muscled hippie neighbor lives in a TREEHOUSE..and not just any treehouse this is some HGTV type of fucking treehouse 🤭 He’s kind, sweet and super laidback. Did I mention he also does yoga? And has a man bun? Seriously who wouldn’t want this guy to be our baby’s step daddy? 🤭🤭

Things I Did Not Like
🔶the romance…this would have been better as women’s fiction
🔶how she called her mom and dad G-Ma and Big Daddy 🥴 it was cringey

Spice Rating
1.5/5 🌶️
This surprised me but it was actually a lil spicy 🥵

Overall thoughts:The writing was hilarious 😆 and I found myself laughing out loud. MMC was giving knockoff Tarzan vibes but he was super sweet. Eeehhhh idk If I would recommend to someone but I wouldn’t not recommend 🤭 if you love HGTV, mountain cabins, small town romances it will be super enjoyable. Sometimes contemporary romances feel too much like real life and I find myself stressing out for the characters 🤣 so maybe that’s why it didn’t work for me.

A perfect fall-vibed-small-town romance set against the gorgeous mountainside of Northern Georgia, USA! As I am a Southern gal, I'll always love romances set in sweet as molasses small Southern towns - but Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair feels so near and dear to my heart! So many great themes throughout - and our heroine Hannah Tate is a girl you definitely want to be friends with!

THOUGHTS:
- I've always loved a single-mom romance because I think these women are so strong! But to find a partner willing to jump in and be there? To me is the ultimate display of true love. So stinking sweet.

- If you've never traveled the North Georgia mountains, I'm telling you it's one of the prettiest areas of the South. I was so happy to see that wineries were mentioned because this really is an incredible wine region that most people don't know about! My husband and I took a vacation there years ago, and it was so lovely. We think about going back all the time.

- As for the plot itself -- if you've ever been the type of person who wants to rise above their circumstances and create the life you deserve - this is the romance for you this fall!! (I can always tell when I really liked a book because my fingers can't fly across the keys fast enough -- there are just so many good things to say about this one, and I'm so glad I got the opportunity to read it!)

NOTES:
- 🌶️🌶️/5 - Some spice - but really felt overall sweet. Just what I needed while sipping my PSL in the carwash line this week!
- Audiobook: I would definitely consider this for an audiobook if you're a commuter! The story flowed so easily!

**Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group & NetGalley for the advanced reader copy. I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR 🖤

A fun read!

Hannah Tate is a new mother who is struggling to keep it together. She's sleep-deprived from taking care of her baby and dealing with the exhaustion that comes with being a new parent. To make matters worse, she's just been dumped by her boyfriend, who she thought was going to propose to her. Imagine her excitement when she found a ring in his shoes! With high hopes for their dinner date, she got all dressed up. But to her dismay, he ended up breaking up with her instead.

To add insult to injury, she was recently fired from her job, leaving her with no source of income. Feeling lost and defeated, she decided to move back home with her mom and stepdad to regroup and figure out her next move. There, she started an AirBnB business to make ends meet and maybe even find a new love.

The writing was humorous, witty, and at times, a bit cheesy and predictable, but still charming overall. It was a lighthearted and fun escape from my usual dark and heavy reads. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun contemporary romance.

***Thank you to NetGalley, Laura Piper Lee, and Dreamscape Media for graciously sending me the audiobook to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.***

AHHHH I don't even know where to start the gushing! I started this book yesterday afternoon and ended up staying up late to finish it. It has everything I never knew I needed in a romance: a new mom MC whose life feels totally out of control, an MC + LI FIXING UP AN ADORABLE AIR B&B TOGETHER, a lovely friend group that is not only supportive of the MC but needs support at times, a complex and well-developed family dynamic, and many, many laugh-out-loud moments (okay, I did know I need that last thing in a romance, and Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair totally delivered)!

As mother to two kids under 5 (4yo & 1.5yo), I really, really appreciated that a new mom in her 30's (and who is still breastfeeding) got to be the star of a romance. That alone brought tears to my eyes, and it's just one of the many things I loved about the story.

I absolutely adored this book. It's out Feb 13, 2024, and I highly recommend it for fans of Rachel Lynn Solomon and Emily Henry. Am immediately adding Laura Piper Lee to my list of romance author faves. Will read anything and everything she writes!!

Hannah Tate, Beyond repair it's a second chance romance, but above all, a story about finding your place again and prioritizing your happiness and well being.
This book has a great emphasis on character development, which I always appreciate on romance novels, and a great set of secondary characters.

Why only the 3 starts? Although this book clicked with most moms, it just didn't click with my post-partum brain. I've felt the author made a great effort to make Hannah relatable to moms, but I was at the exact same point in life as Hannah (in terms of the baby age) and I didn't feel seen at all. I wish I did though.

This is a great story for contemporary romance readers who enjoy single parent, small town and found family tropes.

I would like to thank to Union Square & Co and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This one didn’t work as a rom-com for me! I’m convinced if it was marketed as general fiction, I would’ve enjoyed it more. The romance fell flat, and it felt like the hero was just added to check the romance box off. Overall, this wasn’t my cup of tea.

There were some elements of this contemporary rom-com / adult coming of age story that I liked -- a bi breastfeeding new mom main character, for one! -- but overall it just didn't hold my interest very well and I found some of the writing pretty cliché.

If you're looking for a solid genre romance, this isn't it; other plotlines (Hannah breaking up/forming a new relationship with her kid's dad, starting an AirBnB business) take up just as much space as the romance. Speaking of the romance, these two didn't excite me much. I found River, the love interest, pretty bland.

I think this book has an audience, but it's not me! Also, I still can't get over this book trying to get me on board with Hannah's parents being referred to as "G-ma" and "Big Daddy." I could not suspend my belief enough to see *other adults* calling them that.

Don’t let this cover fool you. This isn’t just a normal meet cute romance. It’s a spicy, second Chance romcom about finding yourself and setting boundaries. It does have some spicy scenes and thank god they don’t fade to black.
Hannah Tate has had it. She gets fired while on maternity leave and a boyfriend who doesn’t appreciate her and wants to just be friends results in her moving back home to her train wreck family. While there she meets River the hot off the grid neighbor who always seems to catch her in her worst moments.

The narrator, Kelli Tager, was excellent and humorous.

I really enjoyed this romance debut about a bisexual single mom who returns to her small town Georgia home to help her parents renovate their property to start a new air bnb. Funny, heartfelt and steamy, this was grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract perfection with tons of relatable mom moments. I'm excited to read whatever the author writes next. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital and audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

The underlying political tones of this book made me not like it quite as much. The plot was good but around every corner the author tossed in what I can only assume is her view on politics, which is her right, but I don’t have to like it and I didn’t.

🌀Synopsis
Hannah finds and an engagement ring and is sure her baby daddy, Killian, is going to propose. When he takes her for a fancy dinner and tells her he wants to co-parent their child she leaves. She packs up and moves back in with her mom and stepdad.
Her mom and stepdad have moved to the mountains and want to open up their cabin as an AirBnB. So Hannah takes on the project with the help of her handsome neighbor, River. Throughout the experience she learns so much about friends, family, and what she truly wants in life. She’s not the only one learning though, River and Killian had a lot to learn too!

This was a really fun read for me, mainly because I am a mom and so I could heavily relate to the main character and her having to be a mom and do it all. While a few things were definitely different, I really could understand her frustrations with basically being a single mom, raising her child on her own, so I was damn proud of her for ditching him and finding a new path that better suited her and her needs. There are definitely some spicy scenes in here which added to the fun, and the author has a ton of great one liners that had me cracking up! Overall, a fun but enlightening romcom!

Well, it took me a month to finish so I think that’s probably all I need to say. It didn’t start off fine but I simply couldn’t connect to the hero. Like once the romance started I simply stopped caring. As for the audiobook, the narrator was great and did her best to keep me engaged.

I was lucky enough to read an early copy of this one and if you want a romcom that's BOTH hot hot steam and laugh-out-loud funny, don't miss this book!

The entire cast is full of thoroughly complex and lovable characters--from Hannah, to the sexy River, to Hannah's no-nonsense lesbian couple friends, even Hannah's initially crappy baby daddy (seriously! he may surprise you).

If you want a romcom that's the FULL PACKAGE (hehe?), do yourself a favor and pick this up.

So good! I had the pleasure of reading this before its official release. Laura has a unique voice that's funny as hell. Her characters are loveable and infuriating. Their relationships are real (and real messy). You will read this in two days. Go read it in two days!

I absolutely loved the writing in this book! Also, I was obsessed with most of the characters (expect for the hero, who was traumatized by technology and refused to get a phone, which, get over yourself), and the writing was so witty and funny and sweet that it kept me engaged the whole way through.

I'm very excited to read more by this author!

This book is a story about a messy down-on-her-luck Mama who's just trying it figure it out. Aren't we all, though? 😂 I laughed, I cried, and I laughed some more while reading this.
When I tell you this book had me laughing out loud as my toddler rolled around next to me, I'm not lying. Hannah Tate was so relatable, not only as a mother, but as an adult woman as well. You'll love her complicated relationship with her Mom, Step-Dad, and Ex because it's so realistic.
Hannah and River's relationship was also a great slow-burn. River was such a gentle soul that took care of Hannah's heart, and I loved watching him swoon over her interior design skills.
I'd say my only issue with the book was that it could have had a little more moments with Hannah and River to really sell their relationship. The timeline moved quickly once they acknowledged their feelings, and I found myself wanting a bit more. But honestly, they were so cute it didn't bother me much.

Read if you love:

-Witty Banter
-Starting-Over Stories
-Wild but Lovable Family members
-Queer Characters

This book caught me off guard. I didn’t know what to expect, but I certainly didn’t expect these constant waves of feelings. First and foremost, I would say this is women’s fiction with a (big) side of romance. River and Hannah’s relationship is a strong point in the story, but the main point is Hannah’s journey through heartbreak, healing, maternity and rediscovery. I truly enjoyed it. Since the beginning, I wanted Hannah to work on her happiness first because she deserves it more than anything, but also for her baby. After growing up with an emotionally absent mother, she knew exactly what not to do with her son, but it’s not an easy thing to practice.

I also enjoyed the dramatic relationships. Everyone in this book is a mess at some level and messy relationships provide great drama. Killian and Hannah’s coparenting situation felt so real. Hannah’s struggle with her relationship with her mom and stepdad was sad but very rewarding in the end and the romance between River and Hannah was amazing. Truly recommended!

After being rejected by the father of her newborn baby, Hannah Tate needs a new plan. Left with little choice but to return to the mountain town she left behind, she moves back in with her mother (G-ma) and stepfather (Big Daddy) with baby Bowie in tow. Though their role as attentive and loving grandparents proves helpful, Hannah can't help but feel conflicted after all the times they disappointed her as a child. Thanks to a design project and an unexpected connection with the handsome neighbor, Hannah's journey home continues to surprise.

3.5 ★ — release date: February 13, 2024

Though the romance did take a bit of a backseat in comparison to the emphasis on Hannah's family dynamics and growth, Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair ended up being a sweet story that emphasizes the importance of community and prioritizing your happiness. The side characters added such substance to the plot as each supported her progress in their own way. From faithful friends to new loves, Hannah found herself surrounded by support and kindness that allowed her to prosper and shine. I would certainly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a single parent, small town romance and value character development.

Laura Piper Lee's debut novel, Hanna Tate, Beyond Repair, delivers a heart-wrenching punch from start to end.

At some point in our lives, we can all relate to Hannah Tate's desire to rise above our circumstances and achieve the life we deserve, whether in motherhood or our romantic lives.

If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be "relatable". The author did an excellent job creating an emotional bond between the reader and the characters throughout their journey. Their struggles evoked strong emotions in me, which made me feel like embracing and punching them at the same time.

If you're looking for a heartwarming women's fiction book with a touch of romance, I recommend reading Hanna Tate, Beyond Repair by Laura Piper Lee. Follow Hanna Tate as she navigates new motherhood, heartbreak, healing, and unexpected romance.

Gosh the prose in this book - witty, sharp, sarcastic. it just sucks you in and just lends to the most enjoyable reading experience. This book is messy in the best way, because life is messy. You realize your parents are mere mortals, that life may not be a perfect fairytale, but also you're capable of much more than you give yourself credit for and maybe the guy on paper might not be perfect for you really is.

This was a gorgeous look at being a single mother. Hannah Tate thinks she has her entire life figured out and then ends up not engaged, broken up, fired, and moving back home. I just adored Hannah and her story navigating shifting from not just taking care of everyone around her but also taking care of herself and getting what she wants out of life. I loved the parallel of fixing up her parents basement. The secondary characters in this book are just chef's kiss (we all need a Big Daddy). The queer rep, gosh if you can't tell I adored this one.

And of course there's River. Big bearded mountain man, who's just soft on Hannah's son and her. I loved how he advocated and helped Hannah rather than trying to come in and save her. This was such a beautiful look at family (found and blood), home, and trusting in love. Just a gorgeous book and I cannot wait to see what Laura writes next.

Holy heartbreak! Grab the tissues, find a cozy place to settle in, fill up your drink and get ready for an emotional ride! The narration of the audiobook is so very good! The narrator really does an excellent job of bringing the hilarity, joy, sorrow, frustration and a gamut of other emotions to the surface so that you feel them all the way to your bones! The witty banter is on point, but the emotional angst will have you sniffling through the words. While it is a cute rom com, it is also a story of finding your own voice, loving yourself and standing for what you believe rather than settling to be someone else's second best choice. It is so easy to let the opinions of others get you to accept a job you hate, stay with a significant other even though they dismiss your feelings or importance or simply just keep being the one to step up for your friends when no one bothers to step up for you. Falling in love can be exhilarating, but is it really love if the other person only wants to spend time with you when it is convenient for them and not be around or reachable when you might want or need them? This book is such a wonderful entertaining read that also makes you think about how you treat others and they treat you. The characters are unique and quirky while being completely believable. I can't wait to read more books from this author or listen to them as I tend to prefer at this point.
