From a bold and imaginative new star of erotic romance comes a wildly sexy Cinderella story--with a paranormal twist.
When Dreams Of Desire… Twenty-three-year-old Alyssa Moss has lived her whole life in the shadow of her beautiful family. Voluptuous where they are lean, brunette where they are blonde, Alyssa is convinced she is an ugly duckling who will never become a swan. The only thing that sustains her is a recurring dream in which a seductive stranger named Stone worships and pleasures every inch of her. But maddeningly, Stone always disappears just as Alyssa is on the edge of dizzying ecstasy—with a puzzling promise that one day he will find her. That day has come…. Become Reality… For years, Stone has searched for the kidnapped first princess of his people—an other-worldly clan whose life-force is sexual energy. Alyssa is that princess, stolen by a rival faction and banished to live on Earth. But now Stone has found her and will return her to her rightful home, one in which she will own the curvaceous body she was born with—and the passionate desire that throbs within it as she learns an endless variety of delicious pleasures and discovers the infinite power she feels when all her cravings are satisfied…
Cassie Ryan (a.k.a. Tina Gerow) started her published writing career writing steamy paranormal romance under another pen name. However, when one of her critique partners, Brit Blaise, suggested she try her hand at erotic romance, she gave it a shot! After all, shes not a girl to turn down a challenge of any type. So, she pulled out all the stops and wrote the first several chapters of what would become CEREMONY OF SEDUCTION.
After hearing Audrey LaFehr from Kensington speak on a new erotic romance line shed started called Aphrodisia, at RWA Nationals, Cassie sent in her partial and went back to writing. So, when Audrey fished her partial out of the slush pile and offered her a three book deal, Cassie Ryan was officially born.
Cassie lives in Phoenix, Arizona and besides being a write-a-holic, is a frequent speaker on several writing and motivational topics. "
I really wanted to like this book. An erotic fantasy romance with a curvier heroine? Brilliant. I have no problems with erotic romances which have more smut than plot. Unfortunately, this was full of porn-y cliches like the handmaiden rubbing in a beauty lotion which just happened to be an aphrodisiac. At the point at which I gave up, there seemed to have been far more sex scenes between the heroine and random others than between her and the hero. Overall, I didn't find this book romantic at all. The nation of bad guys is known as the 'Cunts' (or a variation thereon). I think this was supposed to be a quirky joke, but it just came across as tasteless and rather ridiculous in a published novel.

An unusual erotic/fantasy novel. It had lots of diverse action - the hero and heroine must channel energy to the planet, Klatch. The name for the bad guys was meant to be clever and maybe funny but I just found myself vaguely disturbed. The story was mildly interesting. The ending leaves the story open for further novels, but does bring this story to a close. But I doubt that I'll be reading the next one.
Reading this was like secretly watching someone’s underdeveloped lame ass sexual fantasy. :::shudder::: Can’t even tell you how much I don't recommend this childish novel- and calling it a novel is giving it more credit than it deserves.
This is a very silly book. While some of the silliness is intentional - the villains, known as "C**ts, are all lean, blond and slutty while the heroes, known as the Klatch, are brunette, voluptuous and "free minded." - much of it is just, well, kind of dumb.
The heroine has spent her life living in the shadow of her beautiful family who constantly tear her down for being fat and ugly. Shortly before her 24th birthday she discovers she is the long lost princess from another world who was stolen away by the C**ts when she was a baby. Unlike earth, in her home world the heroine is the epitome of beauty as well as being the most powerful one of her kind. I found her to be a big old bore. The hero is your standard romance cover beefcake type who's defining personality trait is his desire to sex it up with the heroine.
The plot is not terrible but the writing is amateurish at best and the characters are flat and one dimensional. There are many graphic sex scenes - M/F and F/F but they come off as gratuitous and not very sexy, IMO. I found myself skimming through them. Bad writing, shallow characters, and unexciting sex scenes kept me from being engaged by this book.
I was pleasantly surprised about this book. If you're looking for some (alot) of erotic scenes, this is the book for you. It is apart of a trilogy so be prepared for an ending that isn't completely resolved. I found myself enjoying the characters very much. However, I did find the dramatic scenes sometimes hard to take too seriously due to the name of their enemies. I will be reading the sequel and keep a glass of ice nearby. Make no mistake ~ this is a erotic driven plotline. If you're looking for an intricate plot this is not a series for you. That being said, it is a readable series if you're looking to stay warm this winter.
Wow! Was this book full of sex or what? Almost immediately there's an "erotic" scene. This book did have a plot and one that was able to not fall apart. Alyssa's home planet is being destroyed and the only way for her to save it is to go back home and complete her coming of age ceremony with Stone so she can heal the planet. Now, in order for her to be able to heal the planet means she needs to have loads and loads of sex. Once that happens her sexual energy feeds into the planet and starts healing. This book is in a trilogy and I am definately going to be reading the other books.

Very Good story that starts this Seduction series with a bang!
The description of the book I am listing below is from the back jacket of the book. I'm adding it because I believe the one on the Goodreads page does not depict this story.

I want to make clear that I'm giving this two stars not because I thought it was stupid or I didn't like that it was mostly sex. I thought it was fun and silly and I liked the characters and what there was of plot. I'm giving it two stars because it was so repetitive with its wording, not just during the sex scenes (which was to be expected, there are only so many words to describe the acts and they do it like 20 times) but in the descriptions of characters, their thoughts, their actions. Everyone lifts their chin up in defiance. The energy howls. Lavender eyes and brown hair and "curves" (I don't believe this girl is more than a size 8, no matter how much the book wants me to think she's fat). Etc. There was also a lot of slut-shaming and internalized misogyny in describing the villains, and I know they are bad guys and clearly emotionally abused the heroine for years (I wish that had been explored a little more--they convince she's too dumb to read anything other than magazines. This fact is repeated multiple times. what??) but they're constantly calling each other skanks and bitches and whores and the name of their tribe is just. A lot. Could have used a tiny bit more emotional grounding in this wild sex fantasy I guess.
In paperback. I recently decided to repurchase it in kindle form because I couldn’t forget about it. I am rereading the serious and I find that still enjoy this story. It’s creative and a new twist on witches.
I do have a bit of a hard time understanding how the klatch don’t treat each other disrespectfully, like the rival faction the Cnuts do. I mean the Cnuts are just a diluted version of them.
Still it’s a well written story. I’m glad I came back to it. I wish the author had written more books.
This may have been erotica with a lot of sex, sex and more sex but it had a good story and romance to go with it. I liked that they jumped right into the story and didn't bog you down with a lot of back story but worked it in as you read. I loved that the bad race is called the c*nts...it's funny. I look forward to reading the rest of the trilogy.
I really liked the book. The steamy sex was everywhere and i loved that. This is definitely an erotic novel I am keeping on my shelf. The author told the story well, and I understood everything. I can't wait to start the next volume in her series.
Very good beginning book in Seduction Series. Definite fantasy. Cassie Ryan's writing style is very fluid. Plot is good. Look forward to next book in series.
not bad a good read and story telling. i thought Stone's best friends were yummy!!!!!! and i can't wait for the second book. the ceremony that took place one word WOW!! and that was a good wow.
This is one of the worst retellings of Sleeping Beauty that I have ever read. I had to stick with the book to the end but just think of reading A. N. Roquelaure's Sleeping Beauty and Shannon K. Butcher's Sentinel Wars combined in the worst sexual fantasy. I will not reread this book.
Most reviewers did not like the focus on sex in this book. I found the sex to be the main character in the book. This is planet who's only source of energy is sex. I found it very believable in a fantasy like tis and not at all overdone.
This. Was. Good. The plot was good (the crumbs of plot that was there), the drama, the hot group sex,…. Everything. I hated the name of the villains tho. Je pouvais pas les prendre au sérieux. Almost got three stars because of it. Clearly the best out of all three
Want to read an odd book? Here ya go. Ok romance, sex, slight mystery, this book has those. But.. I can't quite describe it. It was just odd. I guess it also lacked detail. Slightly rounded tummy? Is she curvey in a healthy way? What do the men look like other than dark with lavender eyes and well hung. And having an ascention, their essence can't touch any female yet the men have experience. It didn't make much sense. It was an ok read but wasnt that great and I have the next two books sitting on my shelf.
