But now that he’d seen the determination to go in Nuri’s eyes, Silver knew he was out of time. It was either this or release him, and letting Nuri leave was not an option.
If Nuri kept insisting?
Silver would take away the choice.
”Don’t worry, he’s under strict instructions not to touch anything else. It’s not like you’ll need any of it anyway, everything you could want will be provided for here, at home.”
-“Stop saying that,” Nuri snapped. This wasn’t his damn home.
-“You’re losing hold of your temper again, Narek,” Silver warned. “What did we just discuss?”
The guards stepped forward and before Silver would wave them off, Nuri saw and reacted.
He shoved Nate to the side with more force than expected, so that Nate practically fell against the end table, and then he dropped to his knees on the ground, bowing low to Silver. His panic was palpable, his gaze swinging between Silver and the guards. “Majesty, please forgive him, he’s worried about me that’s all! He didn’t mean it!”
“Did I say you could leave?” Silver asked in a rough tone.
Acting on instinct, Nuri shook his head.
“Once a day?” He sputtered, sure he’d misheard. “You want to—”
“Fuck you,” Silver confirmed, “daily. Yes.”
“I’d really prefer if we left business speech out of our intimate relationship,” Silver said, recalling he’d made that statement before.
“And I’d really prefer that you hadn’t lied all—”
“Okay! Never mind. Talk however you want. I love the way you talk. I love the sound of your voice. No matter what you’re saying.”
