I have just finished it and WOW. I don't know whether to cry or jump up and down. There will be another book, but now I have to wait and find out what happens and the suspense is already killing me.

For those of you who haven't read it, I would suggest putting an evening on hold and sitting down to read it, because it is just that good!

Thank you Jessica Shirvington for writing such an addictive and clever series. Can't wait to read the next one :)

Oh. My. God. I said this over and over and OVER again every time I turned the page!! From the elevator shaft to the church, from the lillies and the cabin the the arrows!!!! I was crying so hard at the end. I was so upset about the choice Violet made. I just dont understand why..? Why didn't she rebond with Lincoln, why did she say it was for the best?? From my personal opinion I thought Linc and Vi would be okay. She'd found his soul her eyes were back and everything was going to work out... But I guess not :''( There has to be a fifth!! It can't end like this!! It can't!!!!!! ;( other than the ending I enjoyed it. But I REALLY wanted them to be together!!!!!! Forever!!!!!!! I wasn't in love with Lincoln or Vi, I was in love with THEM!!!! :( I just have to have another dose of it!!! It can't be!! It can't BE!!!! But like Vi said... There are no fairytale endings. ;(

‘Everything is about to end, isn’t it?’ I asked
Lincoln stroked my hair and ran his hands down my arms before kissing me – just a light kiss on my lips, but one heavy with his love and I soaked it up.
‘Not us, Vi. Everything else may end, but not us. What we have ... We’re endless.’

With a title such as ‘Endless’ you would expect that this would be the final stop for Violet, but as Jessica has informed me many times before, there will be another two books in the Violet Eden Chapters... because after the concluding pages of Endless, how can there not be more books to come? Why would Jessica shatter your already broken heart and leave you to mend it all by yourself after the effort she has put in to make you, the reader, emotionally involved and invested in Violet’s story, her struggles, and her triumphs through four books. Why? Sure, Jessica might like torturing us, but she will never leave us with an ending such as that; anyway, if that was the ending – and if I hadn’t known there were more books to come – I would have been content based upon the character growth I saw in Violet through the duration of this book, even within those final pages. It showed her with a maturity beyond her years. Violet Eden is a heroine that I believe teenage girls should strive to embody – embody her decisions and the way she conducts herself as a person for others.

This fourth instalment continues on from the third, Emblaze. Endless felt like a part two and resolution for the events in Emblaze; the events in and plot of Endless had me completely immersed from beginning to end. There was not a moment when I questioned anything that happened; I had no time to. And besides, why would I? Endless captivated me. That is all that matters, right? Violet is accused of confiding in and conspiring with Phoenix in summoning Lilith by the Grigori Academy, most notably Josephine, the Head, who in Emblaze had a negative perception of Violet from the get go. Violet and co. journey to the Academy in New York to attempt to abolish these allegations and to prove that Violet is a Grigori – one of them.

Enter the kidnapping and disappearance of young children. This presents an opportunity for Violet to prove herself as a “Grigori” on top of the training and tests she must undergo at the Academy to satisfy the Grigori Elders. The choices Violet makes don’t sit well with Lincoln and the Academy, but it is what she believes in and what she must do. Violet decides to discover who is kidnapping these children and to try and save them – this becomes her greatest priority. But her affinity with Lincoln creates some of its own problems, as does that particular bond she has with Phoenix. Endless is perfect and Violet is what makes it such.

There was a moment in Endless where I thought, ‘How much more can Jess harness upon Violet? That girl is indestructible. That girl is extraordinary. That girl is a machine. I want to call her mine. And mine only.’ It was a moment where Violet’s identity as the heroine of this series jumped from black and white to living colour; I realised Violet’s worth, her purpose and everything she stands for. It was an inspiring moment for me personally. Book five and six have got to hold instant death in order to defeat what occurred at this said moment. I’m not sure anything can beat it. And then you get to some of the final moments of the book, and although your heart is ripped and crippled and burned many times over, you continue to appreciate and admire Violet’s character throughout everything that happens.

This series, especially Endless, makes me wonder why I haven’t found that special someone yet. Darn you Jess for these horrible and haunting thoughts! Give me Violet and I will finally feel satisfied.

Endless is a trap for all you hopeless romantics. But a perfect book is one that has you emotionally involved and invested in the characters, and Jessica Shirvington has written an instalment that makes it just that: a perfect book. Books five and six have some tough competition.

Nothing is endless.
I know that now.
Let me go.

"Everything else may end, but not us. What we have ... We're endless."

You hear that? It's the sound of me ugly crying in the corner of my room because I have so many feels. This is my favourite book in the Embrace series and it was my favourite book up until I read A Court of Mist and Fury. There's just so many feels in this book and I'm so so in love with this story, this world and these characters.

This book ends on a very very evil cliffhanger. One of the worst I've ever read actually. To make matters worse, there was no mention of a 5th book. The first page had no mention of a future book like the first 3 had had. Online all that was mentioned was that it was supposed to be a 4 book series, but there was still so many questions left unanswered. This book didn't feel like the end to me and I just had to hold out hope that there was going to be a future book. I reread the last page over and over again for months trying to understand what the hell was going on. Luckily, there was a final 5th book. Thank god because I don't think I would have been able to live if this was the last book.

I love this book. That is all.

It was very hard to shut off this audiobook. I listened with a two hour break for 8 hours today. There’s 4 hours left and it’s about 9:25 pm. I’m very tempted to stay up and finish it tonight. I will finish tomorrow.

Wow! Loved it!

Oh dear lord, why do I read these books? The fact that I have read three angel books in the last two weeks is going to require me to add an "angel" category to my shelves, which will throw them all off....all I can say for myself is that this blasted series kind of snuck up on me and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying it.

Before I go further, I should mention that there are several "things" about this series that would make more discerning readers want to toss these books into the recycle bin. The heroine is beyond dense. She has her moments, and sometimes I even like her if for no other reason than for the fact that she tries to do the right thing. However, character motivations remain elusive to her until they smack in the face, often quite literally. The plot points are often entirely too convienient and the world is so ambiguous that it allows for anything and everything, though I kind of admire that last one. Can't call fowl on what is undefined, right? Overall, there isn't much that makes this series any more special than the thousands of other titles within this genre, which may be in part why it appealed to me.

For me, I read books within this genre to be exposed to a new realm, where the comforts of our reality are present, but paired with a fantastical element. I read them to meet characters that I can love, hate, swoon over, laugh with, mourn, cheer for, or all of the above. Lastly, I read these type stories to go on an adventure that allows for youthful characters to save the world, or complete equally heroic tasks. Its oddly empowering. There are dozens of series that achieve these goals, and I enjoy this one because it does as well.

I don't like Violet. I don't feel that she has done anything to earn such devoted adoration from nearly all her fellow characters, and I have already made my thoughts on her intellect clear. I don't swoon over Lincoln because he is entirely too calm and essentially wooden. But I do love these two together. There scenes are tension filled, and sometimes entirely steamy. I'm not angel obsessed, in fact I often shy away from angel lore as it often comes across as preachy and/or hokey. Yet I love the concept of there being no such thing as a good side or bad side, just warring purpose and points of view. And this series possesses my most favorite of elements within this genre...morally ambiguous characters that outshine their alleged hero counterparts. For those of who share my love, you will find your heart's delight in Phoenix, Onyx and Nox.

There is nothing special about this series, but it contains everything I want when hungering for this genre. It may not be the best of the best, but it did make me serial read every book currently available to me and consent to reorganizing my bookshelves. For me, that's something.

P.S. the cliffhanger ending is bullshit. I'm not happy about having to wait to get my ending that I know is coming.

This fourth book in the Embrace series (aka. The Violet Eden Chapters) will leave you happy, breathless, frightened, unfathomably heartbroken and dying for the next book to come out! It may also leave you wondering how much pain and suffering one person can overcome, but you won't be able to stop yourself from finding out.

Can and will Violet make the ultimate sacrifice to save as many others as possible and destroy Lilith? Will she and Linc finally get to complete their bond? You'll have to read it to find out, because to tell you would ruin everything. (If you haven't read the first books to this series, you should read them in order. It'll make a big difference!) -Jen K.

I am probably going to be in the minority with this book.. BUT, I have to say after reading the books in a 4 day time span because I was totally HOOKED into the story and these characters.. That while I did LOVE the ending for Phoenix,(PERFECT!!) I HATE the ending for Violet and Linc.. and really all of the rest of the characters except her parents! OMG, REALLY!!??? I hope there is another book because if not, I may have to come back and change my stars.. :( Am I the only one that thought Violet's decision to leave was NOT for Linc(as she was telling herself she was protecting him) but reeked of being selfish? Does she really think Linc will be ok that way?? She is not only breaking one of the cardinal rules she lives her life by, she is taking Linc's choice away as well.. I just can't believe I spent my weekend lost in a serious where the main characters our "Soul Mates" "or "Twin Souls" and not expect a HEA, especially when the premise is such as it is in The Violet Eden books... If Jessica is indeed writing another book, I will probably come back and give "Endless" more stars, if not I have to say this series had the second worst ending of any book I read this year next to "Delirum" by Lauren Oliver. But we knew Ms. Oliver had more books coming... I'm sorry, I did LOVE the series up until the ending and I will be more than happy to come back and upgrade my review if I find out Jessica is writing more books..

Seriously???? SERIOUSLY!!!! I cried REAL tears when I finished this book. Had to come and review it immediately! I am still shaking...still have the "I could cry any minute" feeling in the back of my throat. Oh don't worry peeps, it's not a spoiler - it's just because I have finished "Endless" which quite frankly wasn't endless... because I have finished it in under 2 days! Sheesh! Anyway, I am now sad as I have a l-o-n-g wait for the next book and the of course, Jessica Shirvington has left us with a holy mother of a cliffhanger... I mean, my teenaged... ok... my thirty something heart cannot cope!

Right... this book has action - lots of it! I love Violet...I think she is gutsy, brave and a fantastic partner to Lincoln (whom I adore!!!!). This book sees Violet coping with the fact that her Mother is back from the dead (didn't see that one coming in the last book!!!!) We see more of the academy in this book and the evil josephine (manic cackle) - or is she?????

Anyway...Jessica Shirvington - hats off to you woman, this is ONE FANTASTIC BOOK!!!! PLEASE NEVER END THIS STORY! If you do, I may become one of those people that starts writing fan fic and sending it to you to read! (be warned!) :-)

AFTER:
Really loved it! But, the ending! Can't wait for the next book!!!

BEFORE:

October. Really? I mean, REALLY??? That's like... a life time away!!! -.-
Can't wait for more action, and bad ass exile butt whippin'. I need it now!!! ;)

Let's hope Vi and Lincoln can fiiiinnnnallly get together. Their frustrating dilemma is leaving me tearing out my hair. By the time it comes out, I'll probably be bald.

Well, now that's out of my system, I need to find another series to get addicted to!

Review originally posted in: http://forget8me8not.blogspot.com.au/...

Cover:
I like how the girl in the cover really represents Violet! Violet often ties her hair in ponytail and wears black shirt like the girl in the cover. Plus, I like the blue colour theme of the cover too!

Story:

Is love endless?

Endless is one beautiful and exhilarating ride. While I really enjoyed Embrace, Entice and Emblazed, the first 3 books in the series, Endless is the strongest book out of the whole series. I can ensure myself that even though I have to wait a year for the next book, I can never forget the events that happened in Endless. They are truly unforgettable.

Endless is named one of the 50 books you can't put down as a part of the Get Reading campaign in Australia and I absolutely agree. From the very first page, my hands are glued and I have to keep reading until the end. The story directly picks up from the ending of Emblaze and Violet's life is filled with risks. Lilith is hunting her and her mother, her relationship with Lincoln is fragile and her powers continue to increase. Besides Jessica's unique take on angels, there are so many things happening in the book and I love that constant shift from sweet romantic scenes between Violet and Lincoln to full-on action. Things are unpredictable in Endless. I try to guess how the story is going to go but Jessica manages to surprise me most of the time. What breaks my heart completely is the ending. I understand why Jessica chooses to end it that way but wow, I hope I can patiently wait for the next book!

Characters:
Violet has grown from the first book and I really enjoyed reading her character development throughout the series. My favourite Violet moments are definitely in Endless. She continues to prove herself as a strong heroine who fights for what she believes and care for. While I can feel Violet's uncertainty between Phoenix and Lincoln in the first 3 books, Violet is absolutely certain with who she chooses in this book. Her certainty of her choice makes me appreciate her more. This 'love triangle' is more than just a love triangle. It's not just love but bond courses through Violet's relationship with Phoenix and Lincoln. I still adored Phoenix but I loved Lincoln more, knowing that Violet and his relationship are progressing better and better. I manage to keep my hopes up for them but Jessica surprised me with the ending! But the character that breaks my heart completely is definitely Phoenix. Underneath his façade is a guy who is confused and torn between love and loyalty. As for other characters, I really enjoyed reading about them too such as Griffin, Spence, Onyx and also Violet's parents. However, Vi, Linc and Phoenix definitely stand out from the other characters. Their moments and scenes are all I'm waiting for because they are beautiful, sad yet breath-taking.

Overall:
Is nothing endless? Endless is the fourth breath-taking installment in the Violet Eden Chapters. Jessica's writing brings you a beautiful and heart-breaking story of love, fighting for those you care for and the power of someone's will. With constant shifts between action and romance, Endless is the strongest book out of the series! While Vi might believe that nothing is endless, I believe that her love for Linc is and I really can't wait for the next book in the series. Now, I shall return to collect the pieces of my heart that has been broken after reading Endless!

Thank you Hachette Australia for the review copy!

This book is second best out of the series- Empower is the best. The way Violet and Lincoln end up in the end was excruciating to read. It cut me in half to feel Violet's pain. It's the most intense book I've ever read. I actually cried!

Agonizing isn't a word that does it justice. Every time I read it, there's a ripping pain that just doesn't go away. It's hard to explain, but this series is so painful and innately good.

It's always so hard to read the last book. I've read this series countless times and this is the most painful one. I felt every inch of Violet's torture and I'm going to need strength and willpower to read book five.

What just happened??? Ok, I'm in again. I said in the last book that if Violet and Lincoln didn't end up together that I would boycott. Welp-EVERYTHING happened in this book (and not what you are thinking). This plot got tricky! My throat still hurts from swallowing my heart multiple times along the way. It was so action packed and heart-warming, and heart-breaking that I don't know what to do with myself now. These characters are such a family now, and Spence...buddy. Phoenix...mannn. Lincoln..ARGH!! That's all I have to say about that.

[2.75 stars]

in my opinion, the book was objectively not really well-written, and yet i still found myself addicted to it. i started the series when my coworker lent me the first book, raving about it, and continued out of obligation and a series of cliffhangers, but, bro, i don’t think it’s a joke anymore.

this probably would’ve been a five star series for me if i had discovered it when i was in middle school. as it is, the writing is often very cheesy for me, and i don’t feel all that connected to the characters, who are pretty one-dimensional. (apart from phoenix, who is one quite literally lilith’s spawn and meant to be evil, but draws the line at harming children. good for him, i guess.) the side characters are fun, but we got very little of them in this installment (# justice for spence.) after the slowest burn in history, violet and lincoln’s relationship reached its inevitable climax - just for it to be destroyed in an ending that made me want to scream.

some other complaints: the stakes appear to be pretty high, with lives always on the line, including those of our main characters. but they feel considerably lower when nearly everyone who dies is brought back to life. i mean, seriously. complaint #2: one of my favorite part of reading is the feelings attached to it, experiencing exactly what this fictional character is going through and finding words to describe experiences i have never been able to explain. well, we certainly don’t get that here: lucky for her, violet is, quite literally, able to turn off her emotions when they get too extreme for her liking. 😐

i don’t know what it is about this series that keeps me going. against the odds, it really is a page turner, and i guess that i’m in it until the end now.

Okay, I love that Phoenix got his redemption in the end, the fact that they've ridden of Lilith for good, also Violet's parent are okay now, but I hate that Violet didn't even give Lincoln a chance!

BUT...........
I have a theory about the exile that took Violet's blood that there might be a chance that the author must have an idea of creating another series? I don't know maybe it's just wishful thinking that the author would continue the series and maybe Violet and Lincoln would have a happy ending there.

So to summarize I'm not contented with the ending so just for the sake of my sanity I'm pretending that they had their happy ending. And I'll just keep my fingers crossed that someday in the future there'll be a continuation of the series. But even though I'm not happy with the ending there can't always be a happy ending right?

4.5 SOBBING STARS. Having read this book for 5 hours straight and sobbed and cried like a baby for the last hour I can safely say that I NEED the last book. HOLY MOTHER OF PHOENIX. I don't even know where to begin. It's a bloody brilliant read, gripping, intense, plot twists, love and the fate of loved ones in peril. Phoenix, baby, what are you doing to me? Violet! STOP IT YOURE KILLING ME. Lincoln! Omg I don't think this will be a coherent review but the emotions and feels are just too much. I need answers and omg if shit doesn't happen in Empower I WILL be going to Shirvington's house and demanding answers. Thank-you and don't mind me sobbing in the corner

violet was a girlboss in this book and my newest toxic trait is thinking i can go through all the same things she has and turn out fine.

i’m just at a loss for words, this was an experience that will make me feel very numb every time i think about it
