I wasn’t looking to change my “bad boy of baseball” reputation. At least not until my dream girl, Pop Princess Alexis Bodega, stepped foot in my clubhouse to sing for the stadium on opening day.

There’s just one problem, and it’s a big one. Her manager is also her boyfriend, and her father is her agent.

She’s kept on a tight leash with her incredibly busy schedule, and I’m at the start of a new baseball season with a new team.

It’s the worst time to explore this attraction with the wrong girl, but that doesn’t stop me from fighting my way backstage at her surprise performance in Vegas and slipping her my number.

I quickly discover that nothing is what it seems where her manager is concerned. The more I learn about America’s Sweetheart, the more I realize what the world knows of her is the carefully crafted façade of her brand…not the woman behind it all. But I’m getting to know the real Alexis, and I’m falling hard and fast for her.

Her father might be the one holding the ball, but I’m in a scoring position, and I won’t let anything stop me from getting the win.

SCORING POSITION is the first book in the VEGAS HEAT: BASES LOADED series. This series must be read in order.

Technically DNF
Skimmed, went to the end.
I knew better. This author annoys me with 4-5 short books that should be one. I DNF her last one either because it was just a cluster F. This one is even worse IMO. I love drama, but the FMC is a 28 year old child. And the MMC is a manwhore. Hard pass.

Bad boy Danny Brewer has got my attention now, trying to steal me away from the hottest baseball player in Vegas, Cooper Noah!  Watch out Coop, you have some competition for top spot in the Vegas Heat world now. It was fun seeing so much of him and Gabby in this first book in Lisa Suzanne's Bases Loaded sports romance series.

The woman that's been Danny's obsession since he first laid eyes on her is none other than the very unavailable Alexis Bodega. A Beautiful, mega talented and ambitious pop star, actress and all around good girl, one in a long time relationship and off limits in so many ways, especially to a guy him. But fate has other ideas for these two 'star' crossed lovers. Wait until you see how that goes!

I'm enjoying these characters, their story, this world and the angsty situations they find themselves in. The longing for each other is palpable every time they're together- it's electric. On the other side of the story, a big lesson being driven home is that the ones you trust most are sometimes the ones who can hurt you so easily. That crazy ending was a plot twist with an unbelievable, jaw dropping, WTH moment. Book 2, Caught Looking, can't come soon enough for me. All I can think is- what would I do in a situation like this one?

Prepare yourselves for another rollercoaster sports romance series, readers and fans. Lisa Suzanne always has something up her sleeves that will keep you up late, chewing your nails into the night, and Scoring Position proves she's more than ready to do it all over again!

Its me. I just could not get into the story. I'm tired of hearing how much tail he gets...I get it...its a lot. The story seemed pretty good and I am interested in knowing how it plays out. But right now I could not finish it.

Honestly, I am not sure if I am going to finish this series at this point.

I still detest the 5 book /4 cliffhanger format. I know, I bitch about it every time and still read them. But it could so easily be one book, or I guess a case could be made for two. That's not really why I am not feeling this one, though.

So why am I saying I may not finish the series? Well, I don't like female characters who let men rule their lives (talking about fathers/professional agents, and whatever Brooks is supposed to be in this case). No situation is worth being emotionally abused. I am also not really a fan of this type of angst... namely a public "relationship" with one guy (Brooks) while the real love interest (Danny) has to be a secret.

I think I am going to set this aside for now, read something else, then see if I want to finish it.

And Lisa has done it again! She has started the new series with a great banger.
This is Danny's story. We met him in Cooper and Gabby's story.
He is the ultimate playboy that is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Alexis is the All round American sweetheart. Pop princess/actress and dancer.
They birth have a celeb crush on each other. When they meet for a brief introduction their chemistry is so electric, the crush feels like more.
She may have the career she dreamed of but her dad being her agent controls ever inch of her life. It's quite sad and very intimidating, as he is very greedy. She believes him blindly and to keep her brand straight and clean he made a fake relationship with her manager.
Anyway Danny and Alexis manage to meet secretly for brunch. I loved their little brunch dates.
I enjoyed following their relationship and how it grew into a friendship while they were apart for 6 months. They promised to save the space for when they finally meet.
Unfortunately her dad has other plans which will definitely ruin whatever relationship they built 💔. Danny struggles with relationships because of his past discovery and trauma.
My heart was literally racing. It was sad to see all the bravery and spine Alexis manage to muster up was lost within seconds.
Can Danny trust her? Will Alexis ever have the courage to get away from her fathers claws?
I also loved seeing what Cooper was getting upto and im so happy for them two.
Superb start to the series

I really enjoyed this start to the series. Beware that it ends with a cliffy.

Suzanne has established Alexis' life and how dreary it is. Danny's character seems a little rushed for me. Alexis seems to have gradually connected with Danny and soon they are best friends who are waiting to see where things go until the timing is better, but it seems like Danny makes a complete 180 in his personality upon just a single meeting with Alexis. Instalove isn't my favorite and considering this is a slow burn, it can't be confused with instalust.

I do like how because of their schedules it's more of a slow burn. The jumps in time serve to show their deepening connection, but also keeps the slow burn going. I do wish there was more stops along the time jump way and that the time jumps were a little more called out, but that's a me thing I think.

The cliffy that it ends with is a doozy. Not sure how Alexis is going to get out of this unscathed. Her dad is a POS and this kind of family dynamic really just boils my blood. I really can't wait to get to the next one to see how all this unfolds.

Scott Rose and Avery Reid did a wonderful job with the narration. I think they both really bring the characters to life with the laid-back, carefree Danny and oppressed and repressed Alexis.

Thank you, Lisa Suzanne and Valentine PR for the ALC.

The Bad Boy and The Good Girl

I don’t how she does it but Ms. Suzanne is off to another fantastic start to the Vegas Heat series. With baseball just around the corner it couldn’t come at a better time to get fodder for my imagination for some of those players that catch my eye.

Danny is the bad boy of the new expansion team in Vegas. One of the elite first basemen and he parties like he plays. Alexis is America’s Sweetheart at the top of her game in both singing and acting but she is living under her father’s thumb. When they first meet, they both feel that spark that is the beginning of a building relationship even if they be miles apart with Danny starting the season and Alexis heading out on tour.

What a top-of-the-line sports romance with all of the misunderstandings and the underhandedness that comes out trying to keep these two apart. I cannot wait to see what comes next in this amazing series.

Back to Aces Baseball

Our troubled bad boy is none other than the Vegas Heat superstar first baseman Danny Brewer, self proclaimed bad boy of baseball. Our new good girl is pop princess, dancer, and actor Alexis, a triple threat. As we get the introductions out of the way and the secrets start early, I am ready for all the changes that will be happening in Danny's and Alexis’s lives. Does the public persona match the private person?

It is not a secret I am a huge Lisa Suzanne fan, and with Reese Fox making an appearance, I am thrilled to see her. But it is the way she can top herself with each new series that is refreshing. I am ready for what she is about to bring us with the Bases Loaded series.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Lisa is back at it again with the start of a new series in the Vegas Heat saga. I can already tell this one is going to get *messy*! We’ve got Rapunzel vibes going on with the pop princess, triple threat, Alexis Bodega, locked in her castle under her father’s, who is also her agent, thumb. And we’ve got the baseball bad boy, Danny Brewer, who has already started to change his ways for his princess. I’m so excited to see how this one pans out!

Danny Brewer, first baseman for the Vegas Heat expansion team is caught with his pants down taking a whiz. He’s currently on a podcast shooting the breeze when asked who caught him with his pants down.

I loved the twists and turns of the relationship between Alexis and Danny. The relationship between Alexis and her dad is tumultuous and frustrating. Her dad cares more about her “brand” and her relationship with Brooks

The twist in the end was… amazing. I can't wait for Book 2

4⭐️/ 1🌶️

I love reading sports romance books so, when I came across this book that involved a baseball player with a pop star singer, with Rapunzel vibes, he falls first, friends to lovers, and more, I knew I had to read this story! This story followed, Danny Brewer and Alexis Bodega as they met, became friends, and fell for each other. With the added element of having a secret relationship, Danny and Alexis had to keep their romance on the down low in order to keep the public eye from interfering with their relationship, but also with to maintain their public images, namely Alexis’s since she was America’s pop star singer, whereas Danny was the bad boy baseball player. This was my first time reading a story by Lisa Suzanne, and I really liked how they star had a great amount of tropes I love, some that were new to me, as well as keeping me entertained all the way through.

I haven’t read a story that mentioned having, “Rapunzel” vibes, but it definitely piqued my interest among the other tropes in this story. Since Alexis was a famous pop star/ actress/ dancer, she was a triple threat and was always knocking out her goals and going beyond the initial expectations she set for herself. I liked Alexis, I thought she was cool, kind, and an all around boss queen doing everything in her career. I got the sense or more like understanding that Alexis wasn’t exactly happy with the way her life was going especially when her career dominated a big portion of it. For all the success and fame that Alexis had, she missed having a normal life being able to do normal, mundane things like anybody else. Among those normal things, Alexis hoped to be in a relationship with someone she actually cared for and potentially down the way have a family of her own. With the demands of her career and her father micromanaging everything, Alexis didn’t really have much of a say in getting to change her mind when she basically signed her life away at the tender age of sixteen in some ways, Alexis’s dad reminded me of mother Gothel from “Rapunzel”, with the way he kept her “locked” in her career and in some ways isolated from others aside from her manager, Brooks and her bodyguard, Gregory. Alexis wanted more for her life and with Danny, it seemed like the start of something great together.

Danny might have been the bad boy on baseball, but when he met Alexis, his bad boys ways changed. I actually liked that Danny was already off fan of Alexis since it gave him a base of him liking her, but once they started talking it grew into more. Sure, Danny was initially attracted to Alexis’s beauty, but it became more than that. With the way Danny and Alexis were so open with each other, it was natural and I could see the transition from friends to lovers seamlessly. I think the connection Danny and Alexis had was sweet and there was that undercurrent of passion that later became quite apparent. I also loved the “he falls first”, and that was clear with the way Danny became wholeheartedly all about Alexis twenty-four-seven. Even doing little things like making sure to order the donuts Alexis liked and listening to how her day went, and being supportive of her really made an impression on Alexis.

I went into this book expecting it to be short, sweet, little bit spicy, but omg I was not expecting that cliffhanger!!!! Suffice it to say, Alexis and Danny’s story isn’t over by a long shot! Ahhhhh! As a whole, this story was good, for a moment there I thought the story was going to end nicely with a “happily ever after”, but obviously things didn’t turn out the way I hoped. Looking back, the parts of the plot line actually lead perfectly for the continuation of Alexis and Danny’s story. The romance was good, I liked the friends to lovers aspect of the story, I got a little bit of the baseball story, the demands of Alexis’s career, and the added complicated drama that Alexis found herself in especially towards the end. I think if you’re in the mood for a short and quick sports romance then I think you’ll enjoy this book, and by the end you’ll be wanting to read the next book as I’m feeling right now! Definitely want to read the next book!

SCORING POSITION is the first audiobook in the VEGAS HEAT: BASES LOADED series performed by Avery Reid and Scott Rose,
This is Danny and Alexis Story, the beginning of an almost Disney fairytale where the princess is locked in a tower being controlled every day of her life and the bad guy on the other side who is seemingly not good enough for her and just doesn’t fit in her world.

TANGLED

THE BAD BOY AND THE GOOD GIRL!

Danny
✨I wasn't looking to change my "bad boy of baseball" reputation. At least not until my dream girl, Pop Princess Alexis Bodega, stepped foot in my clubhouse to sing for the stadium on opening day.
There's just one problem, and it's a big one. Her manager is also her boyfriend, and her father is her agent.✨

Yeah this guy isn’t what everyone thought he was.. his life was complex because of what we went through and that helped shaped his persona.
But to be honest Danny is a bonafide Princes who met the perfect girl who has been locked away far too long to even decide who she really is and wants to be.
⚾️

Alexis-
She’s always been kept on a tight leash locked away controlled by her father and others, but it’s always been that way so that she can advance in her career.
Almost 30 yrs old and she is now rethinking this choice after meeting someone who gave her tingles someone who may just be the one, someone who gave her a different perspective on life, someone she has been looking for.. except.. he is the bad boy who doesn’t make good choices… but she still can’t seem to help wanting him.

After sneaking away to meet him and several hidden text and conversational messages she found herself wandering if she could find more with DJ.
But her actions could inadvertently end whatever it is between her and Danny before it begins.

✨She's kept on a tight leash with her incredibly busy schedule, and I'm at the start of a new baseball season with a new team.
It's the worst time to explore this attraction with the wrong girl, but that doesn't stop me from fighting my way backstage at her surprise performance in Vegas and slipping her my number.✨

⚾️
Yup pure Angst with this story and Danny is handling it like a champ..so far ..

✨I quickly discover that nothing is what it seems where her manager is concerned. The more I learn about America's Sweetheart, the more I realize what the world knows of her is the carefully crafted façade of her brand...not the woman behind it all.✨

⚾️
Sigh this girl is under heavy pressure and control.. it’s unbelievable.. I’m shocked she has the chance to sneak out to see Danny at all .. but lord knows her father is horribly manipulative and I see big problems coming with this man

✨But I'm getting to know the real Alexis, and I'm falling hard and fast for her.
Her father might be the one holding the ball, but I'm in a scoring position, and I won't let anything stop me from getting the win.✨

⚾️
Oh My God! I knew this was coming .. I knew Lisa Suzanne was coming with a doozy of a story with these two characters!
But I’m left pulling my hair out screaming what the hell girl!!!

The start of this story was narrated by two talented people who are new to me .. they however brought the start of this series together with their great performances!
Im totally looking forward to the next installment in this series!

Scoring Position is the first book in Lisa Suzanne's new series Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded and is Alexis and Danny's story.
Danny Brewer is known as the Bad Boy of Baseball and he wears that title with pride, he is all about the MLB lifestyle, girls every where he turns and who is he to deny them! Danny is the king of casual relationships, after witnessing his Father cheating on his Mom and also his sister being cheated on too, Danny is determined to keep things completely casual and not let anyone close enough to hurt him. So when he meets Alexis Bodega, the extremely beautiful singer and actress who is lovingly known as America's Sweetheart he couldn't be more confused, for some unknown reason he is inexplicably drawn to her and he wants to know more which is a first for Danny, he doesn't chase girls and he definitely doesn't want to know more about them outside of the bedroom. Which is why Danny is feeling so conflicted he hasn't even kissed Alexis but she's already starting to bring him to his knees.
"I want to get to know her. I want to know everything. What makes her laugh. What makes her angry. What makes her come. What it's like to kiss her."
However there is a problem, everyone knows Alexis Bodega is in a loving committed relationship with her manager and Danny knows the heartache involved by cheating and he is not willing to take the chance no matter how he's much he's feeling.
"I want Alexis Bodega.
It's possible I just need to bang her out of my thoughts, but those feelings the day we met were real. Too real. Scary real.
It was instant. It was intense. It was terrifying.
And I want more. I need to be able to explore it to see if it's real or if it's just being starstruck by someone of her caliber.
But I'm still not sure she's mine to have."
So when Danny finds out it's a publicity stunt by her Father who is also her agent, all bets are off, he wants more of Alexis and he is not going to stop until she is in his arms.
But even though Alexis's "boyfriend" is no longer an issue they both lead busy lives, Alexis is about to go on a tour for the next six months and of course it's baseball season for Danny, so there is no room in their schedules to explore this intense connection between them.
"It's not fair to either of us, but right now, with her leaving for tour and my season spread out before me, it's not the right time for us."
So they decide to stay in contact while Alexis is on tour and if they still feel the same and want to explore whatever it is between them when she gets back and Danny's season is over, they will. But Alexis's Dad hasn't spent the last four years selling Alexis and her pseudo boyfriend Brooks to the world for the Bad Boy of Baseball to come strolling in and ruining his plans.
Can Danny and Alexis find a way around all of the obstacles standing in their way? Or will the demands of Alexis's Father be too hard to overcome?
Read Scoring Position now to find out!
I loved Scoring Position, I could not put it down, it gripped me from the very start! Scoring Position is Lisa Suzanne at her finest, the twists and turns and the dreaded cliffhangers all lead to an incredible addictive story that you know she'll make Alexis and Danny work hard for their HEA, if they even get one, I'm hoping they do but if the twists and turns keep coming who knows! Scoring Position has kicked off this new series with a bang and I cannot wait for what's next!
I received an arc of Scoring Position and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

Loved it.!
Book 1 in a brand new sports adventure from Lisa Suzanne and this time The Bad Boy of Baseball meets the squeaky clean pop princess, what could go wrong ?
Danny is a Baseball superstar with a very bad reputation,he is in the headlines all the time with his bad drunken behaviour. But this reputation could jeopardise his chances of getting his Dream girl..and that girl is Alexis Bodega.
Alexis is a wholesome singer/actress her reputation is as pure a snow, she has an image to uphold of being a good girl.It was what she agreed to so she could pursue her career as a singer/actress and obtain the fame she thought she wanted.
But it is all an illusion her life is fake she is being controlled by her father, being made to live with her manager pretending to be in a romantic relationship with him...But it is all for show there is no love there,no romance and I think she is starting to resent the life she is living.
Alexis Bodega is trapped and she wants more, she is sick of having to be perfect and pure, she wants to be herself, make mistakes like women her age do..She wants Love a proper relationship and meeting Danny opens her eyes.
They have a connection straight away and as they become friends Danny wants to teach her the things she has missed out in life.
Alexis discovers she can be herself with Danny and he doesn't expect anything from her like others do.They both have busy schedules so they meet in secret occasionally and spend the majority of the time getting to know one another through phone calls.
Unfortunately her father has other plans for Alexis and her future and that does not include Danny,so he is enraged when her discovers they are friends.
I am not sure how Danny and Alexis will get out of the dilemma they end up in,they seem to have so many obstacles to get over.Everyone is against them trying to be together, they don't want Danny tainting Alexis's image.
This is a slowburn romance you can feel the attraction between them and I found that this story was actually quite sweet, because Danny is besotted with Alexis. He even begins to change his behaviour much to his teammates shock..You see that there is more to Danny he has a softer side and he is not the rogue you believe he is.Danny is both sexy an sweet and Alexis is not immune to his charms...They both change eachother Alexis is more carefree with him and Danny is more responsible when he is around her.
The narration to this story is wonderfully done by Avery Reid and Scott Rose they are delightful at portraying Alexis and Danny..They are so enjoyble to listen to and they are the perfect duet for this book.
Now this book does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared...I am dying to know what will happen after the event that took place at the end of this book.
Lisa Suzanne really knows how to make your jaw drop and want more, because I want more and cannot wait to listen to book 2.
I really loved this story it is a fantastic audiobook.

“We’re opposites. The bad boy and the good girl. And there’s something addicting about him already.”

Scoring Position kicks off the first book from Daniel ‘Danny’ James Brewer and Caroline ‘Carrie’ Alexis Bodega in the brand new series Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded by author Lisa Suzanne.

In this Bad Boy/Good Girl, Pop Star, Sports Romance, we are introduced to Danny and Alexis, through the following of their dual perspective.

Seeing as Scoring Position is only the first book, author Lisa did a good job laying down the foundation that gave us the lay of the land through not only establishing what is the beginning of the plot, which is looking like it won’t be a picnic in the park.
But going hand in hand with the development of the characters Danny and Alexis, that included following their individual journeys, on top of the one that connected them and had them bonding within their budding relationship that is only just the start.
Allowing us to see the slow but sure progress that had the narrative moving forwards which was funny, sweet, cute, yet entertaining to read about.

When it came to Danny and Alexis, through the character development we were able to get an up close and personal look into their lives, showcasing their individual personal lives, that involved living their day to day life, whilst juggling their careers and making time for family, friends and each other. Allowing us to get a real feel for both of them through the beginning of the unravelling of their layers that had us getting a more thoroughly close look.
As for the exploration of their relation which had them going from Strangers to Friends, due to their undeniable longing whenever apart, it wasn’t surprising whenever were in each other’s presence and interacted the sparks would ignite and fly high given the major chemistry they shared.
Resulting in moments of ease and smooth sailing.

However despite similarities shared in the difficulties of their careers that allowed them to connect and bond over, with their worlds being super far apart and 3rd party involvement, it was no surprise it led to a bumpy ride that was filled with hurdles, angsty-ness and drama, considering what ensued from the difficulties they faced and had to try and overcome.
Which definitely won’t be the last of it, seeing as not only is Scoring Position the first book. But with four more to come and taking into consideration the lives Danny and Alexis lead, something tells me it’s going to be one rocky ride that will have you needing to be strapped in tight.

The cliffhanger ending of Scoring Position may have been expected, at least to me.
But nonetheless it still had me wanting more, seeing as how author Lisa Suzanne left us hanging with that twist.
The next book Caught Looking could not come fast enough.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

4 Going to First Base with the First Baseman Stars!!

Bring on a new to me series with new characters written by Ms. Suzanne. I love a good sports romance and with this first book in her Bases Loaded series introduces us to Danny and Alexis. Two people that you’d never imagine being together given their worlds are so far apart. Alexis is a very famous pop princess and actress who’s entire life is controlled by her father and she’s basically not allowed to have any thoughts that are her own. Her life is a business and this business includes a guy named Brooks… I don’t like him at all and I’m sure there’s so much more to this man than what we’ve seen in this book!

And then there’s Danny. The first baseman for the new expansion Vegas Heat team in Las Vegas. He’s very good at his job, but he’s also a little on the wild side and our first introduction to him is a rather outrageous act on his part. He needs to keep himself in check since the baseball world and advertisers are watching his every move. Little does he know that when he meets Alexis at the ballpark that both of their lives are about to change!

The connection between Danny and Alexis is instantaneous and shocks both of them. To say this isn’t the perfect timing for either of them is putting it mildly. What begins as two people getting to know each other, through modern technology becomes something so much more. Danny and the Heat are trying to be the first expansion team to go to the World Series and Alexis is on a world tour but their text messages are HAF!!! Secrets are revealed and two people truly get to know each other without the interference of Agents and Business Managers and the press! I felt somewhat like a voyeur being on the sidelines of their romance. Rooting for them to have it all!

I was lucky enough to listen to this book so the beginnings of this epic romance was brought to life wonderfully by Avery Reid and Scott Rose two new to me narrators. During certain scenes, IYKYK I was definitely wiggling in my seat cuz holy moly!! I love it when an audiobook is brought to life so magnificently it enhances the listening experience to the point that I don’t want the book to end.

As I expected, this book ends on a major cliffie… and when I say major I mean MAJOR!! Once again people are controlling Alexis’ future just when she and Danny were planning to make some of their text messages come to life. Now I’m ready for Caught Looking so I can find out what the repercussions are for the latest machinations of Alexis’ father!

It’s no secret that I love Lisa Suzanne books. Not so much a football fan (although the SuperBowl was a fantastic, nail biting game), but now Ms. Suzanne has started a series with a baseball theme. The Vegas Heat has a superstar Bad Boy, Danny Brewer. More self-centered and callus than her other main characters, Danny is livin’ his best life😊

Alexis Bodega is America’s Pop Princess. Sort of a mix between Taylor Swift and Brittany Spears, although the hype of Taylor this week brings her and Travis to mind along with the Brittany family drama! Alexis’ father, a self-centered, manipulative man who has been profiting from her career since she was 16, is now trying to control her romantically while positioning his next career step. Through a contract he devised when she was a teen, he has control over all aspects of her life while shaming her into maintaining the lifestyle he crafted, which influences all of her decisions and threatens her professionally if she strays off the path he has devised. He has also passively set up her manager as her live-in boyfriend, which negates any social activities, both gaining friendships with her peers as well as romantically.

When Danny, a long-time fan, finally meets Alexis, the attraction flares. They surreptitiously spend time together, as Alexis contractually has obligated herself to her “good girl” reputation, which Danny could negatively impact. As they learn more about each other, they validate their relationship as something meaningful, not sexual. This is very important to Danny, who has never invested himself, and for Alexis, who sees that Danny is committed to her.

I won’t ruin the surprise of the crisis that ended this episode, however I did see something of this nature coming. Her father’s exploitation of her and her career is too strong an influence.

For those readers who follow Lisa Suzanne—this book is different. I thought it had more heart. Whether it was that they didn’t rush into bed, because we got to know the characters better, or that I didn’t feel distracted by the commotion and turmoil which is often in her books. Scoring Position is more romantic. I found myself liking these characters and empathizing with them emotionally, and not just for the crises that they are living through.

Start this series—get into “Position” (yes, that is a pun!) and love Danny and Alexis as I do!

Always like when an author hits a homerun from the start with a new series. And this one had romance galore. Alexis Bodega is a triple threat in acting, singing and dancing but America’s Sweetheart is tired of living in the bubble that her father (agent) and Brandon her manager (fake boyfriend) created for her. She wants to start living her life and not according to their script that her father dictates, but he has never steered her wrong before. Alexis has always had a thing for baseball players, and one has always appealed to her and that is player Danny Brewer for the Vegas Heat. She can’t believe it and fangirls hard when she gets to meet him on opening day as she sings the National Anthem. But she is also nervous as she has always been sheltered and feels very inexperienced when it comes to the opposite sex.

Danny Brewer is labeled as Baseball’s Bad Boy and is living his best life and has earned his bad boy reputation with his teammates, the ladies and the media. But has started to question the lifestyle when one of his best friends settles down. Danny has always had a thing for Alexis Bodega and a chance encounter on opening day flames the attraction for him as he gets to meet her and talk to her in person. He goes to a concert that Alexis is performing at and they reconnect but that only just confirms to both that they want to get to know the other. Danny passes along his number to Alexis with his fingers crossed that he hears from her as he has never felt like this before with any woman.

They start up a friendship just trying to spend time together and getting to know each other but ultimately have to sneak around just to hang out so the paparazzi don’t catch on to either of them or worse Alexis’s father and manager. I love that that they are both trying to build on their relationship before they jump things to the next level even though the chemistry is there between them and it will definitely be hot once they let it burn but for right now they are both focused on their careers with Danny and his season and Alexis with her tour.

But Alexis’s controlling father gets involved with his plans and completely derails the budding relationship that Alexis and Danny have. Will the Good Girl and Bad Boy be able to make it work out in the end. I can not wait to see what happens next in the series.

Scoring Position is the first book in Ms. Suzanne's new baseball series: Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded. The characters were excellently written and the story kept my attention from beginning to end. I hated having to put it down to attend to my normal daily life.

Danny Brewer is known as Baseball's Bad Boy. He is one of the star players brought in to play on the new expansion team in Las Vegas, the Vegas Heat during their inaugural season. Danny is the First Baseman and known as a womanizer. That is until he meets his "dream girl" Alexis Bodega on Opening Day when she is there to sing the National Anthem.

Alexis Bodega is known as America's Sweetheart and the Princess of Pop. She has been since her first record was released when she was just 17. Her father a well known Hollywood Agent had Alexis sign a very restricted contract at just 16 and has kept her very isolated and protected for the past 12 years. She has always been fascinated and interested in Baseball players especially her favorite Dodger Cooper Nash and First Baseman Danny Brewer. She is in total awe and left speechless when she meets both of her idols in the clubhouse of the Vegas Heat before singing on their opening day.

The beginning of their love story is very sweet given that they are the "Bad Boy" and the "Good Girl". Alexis has lived a very sheltered life and is very naive but that does not bother Danny at all, surprising even himself. He is forced to get to know Alexis long distance by text and phone calls as she begins a 6 month cross country tour just as he is beginning his new baseball season.

This is a very sweet story, very interesting and intriguing even without Ms. Suzanne's usual hot sex. I can't wait to see how this goes and to get to Ms. Suzanne's expected steamy scenes that both Alexis and Danny want to explore. Awesome beginning to what will surely be a great series.

“A man who gets me bacon and donuts is a man I can get on board with.”

Scoring Position was a FANTASTIC start to the Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series and I stayed up way too late because I could not put it down once I started. I can already tell that Danny and Alexis are going to be absolute FIRE and I think they are going to be one of my favorite couples from this author.

“Our eyes meet for the first time, and something changes inside me.”

Alexis seemingly has the perfect life, but everything is not always what it seems. Even though she’s a triple threat and is one of the biggest popstars in the world, she’s been sheltered and hasn’t experienced a lot of things in life that people take for granted. When she meets her crush, Danny Brewer, she’s unprepared for the intense attraction that they share and it makes her start to question her life and what she wants out of it.

“I’m used to acting on instinct when it comes to women, and that is how I know Alexis Bodega is something special. With her…I’m acting on feelings. Emotions.”

Danny is the ultimate playboy, but he’s always felt a pull toward Alexis Bodega. When he finally meets her person, he’s determined to get to know her better and the more he gets to know her, the more he’s drawn to her sweet, gentle heart and innocence. She makes him question his choices and makes him want something more for the first time in his life.

“I want the mundane details and the big ones. Her past and her present. What she wants out of her future.”

I loved watching the friendship develop between these two. They both are so open about what they are feeling and their chemistry is unmatched. My heart is already breaking from that ending and I know their journey is going to be complicated, emotional and full of heartbreak, but I absolutely cannot wait to experience it.

Scoring Position
What a perfect time to find a new book by Lisa Suzanne. With Springtime right around the corner we dive into Scoring Position the new Vegas Heat book featuring Danny Brewer the First Baseman. Troy Bodine, the Coach is putting together a new expansion team and is signing the best players he can find. Danny Brewer is a good player on and off the field and considered one of the sports bad boys. At twenty-eight years old he feels that there should be more to life than partying and playing around with various women. His one fantasy woman is ‘America’s Sweetheart”, Alexis Bodega. She is a talented singer, songwriter, and actress.
Alexis Bodega is the ‘Princess of Pop’. Her façade is America’s Sweetheart. She is never caught being naughty, no drinking, no raucous partying and only one man. She is controlled by her father who is also her agent. Brooks Donovan is her manager and goes with her everywhere. Alexis has a carefully crafted reputation with Brooks portraying her boyfriend. They have never had that kind of relationship.
Danny meets Alexis when she comes to sing the National Anthem at their first game. Cooper Noah introduces them and it is magic. Danny wants more from Alexis. Alexis wants more from Danny. They plan to meet up for brunch at Danny’s home. This starts their stolen moments of discovery. They learn about each other and neither is really who them seem publicly. They decide to wait for six months to move into a more intense relationship. In those six months they talk and text.
Edward Bodega has plans for his daughter and client. To cement the future and to keep Alexis under control he decides that she needs to become engaged to Brooks. This is not what she wants.
What will happen when Danny finds out she gets engaged? Will Alexis accept the ring. Danny hates cheaters. Can they find a way besides stolen moments?

Lisa Suzanne you're killing me with these audiobook series! You need to listen to these in order because they end on a CLIFFHANGER!! I swear Lisa is trying to give me a heart attack. I got so into the story I didn't realize how far into it I was then BOOM I hear this is the end of the first book in the Vegas Heat series. My jaw was on the floor because I want to know what is coming next! LOL

Avery Reid and Scott Rose were the narrator for this book and I really enjoyed how they told this story. I felt like their voices held my attention and kept me entertained from the beginning until the end.

Danny Brewer is the first baseman and also self proclaimed bad boy of baseball. Alexis is the pop princess/actress. Danny has always had a thing for Alexis but never thought in his wildest dreams he'd ever stand a chance with her. When they meet for the first time the chemistry was definitely there. But she has a boyfriend or so the media believes. Her father is her agent and is you can tell he is a very bad man. He doesn't care about his daughter. Alexis is blind to see what he's trying to do to her and her career.

There are moments that Alexis makes me mad because she can't see that the people that she thinks she can trust are not looking out for her. Her dads character is rotten and unlikable. Danny is a very lovable character and when Alexis is with Danny she is a lovable character as well.

This book had me laughing, swooning, a little angry, and smiling. I feel like you go on a little ride with you emotions. This is a short audiobook that will leave you wanting more. I would HIGHLY recommend this book and anything Lisa Suzanne writes.

Thank you Valentine PR for allowing me to listen to this ALC for my honest opinion.

Audiobook Review: Scoring Position by: Lisa Suzanne

I really enjoyed the first book in this series! Danny is one perfect MMC he is obsessed with the FMC Alexis who is a gorgeous and super talented singer and actress. The two are very much star crossed and I’m here for it! The lengths her father and manager go is insane and really pisses me off! I know she asked to become famous but they are way too controlling and not enough thinking of her only the revenue she brings in. I was so pissed for her. And Danny that man doing everything he can to show her how to live and let go!

I really love the emotional connection they share almost instantly even though they both are still holding back they are both slowly opening up and being the person the other needs. These characters are charming and complex. I love the plot and story I’m sure it is a lot like that in Hollywood and watching them put it out on the line. Their chemistry is palpable and this is definitely an angsty pining story for sure.

But going back to her dad he is a jerk! And what a jerk move at the end my jaw dropped through the floor and I wanted to throw the phone across the room I was so mad at what he does! I cannot wait to listen to the next installment in their story!

The narrators really did a phenomenal job in bringing these two to life! They brought so much emotion and passion into their performances that I felt like I was in the room with the characters and living it right along with them. It was a beautifully crafted book and a beautifully crafted performance!

Bring on the HEAT! Vegas Heat that is 😉

Scoring Position is the first book in the all new Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series by Lisa Suzanne and baseball's bad boy Danny Brewer is going to fall head over heels for America's Pop Princess Alexis Bodega. But as we all know, Lisa likes to torture us slowly and there is going to be all the twists and turns that will push back this HEA but the journey is always worth it!

4.5 ⭐

I'm so excited for this story- already in book 1 I can see how hard Danny is going to fall and just how much he is willing to change for the right woman... unfortunately for these two things just can't be so simple. The chemistry is so fantastic between these two, I adore how close they have already become in their friendship even though they are obviously destined for more. I'm already feeling extra spicy toward Alexis' dad and her manager Brooks. They are obviously orchestrating things to keep Alexis essentially caged in this life and like there are no other options than to do everything their way. I do find it weird that Alexis is bound by some contract she signed as a minor and that she now, 12 years later, has absolutely zero say in her professional and essentially personal life.

I love that Danny has inspired this spark in her to actually look at her life situation a little more and see that things are probably out of control just as she has inspired a similar spark in him. I hate the cliffhanger that this book left us with even if I saw it coming- but I'm so excited to see how Danny and Alexis' journey plays out especially knowing that there isn't going to be a break to their actual relationship along the way.

I received an ARC of this book. All views are my own.

Oooh here we are at the start of a new Lisa Suzanne series! We're back with the Vegas Heat this time around, and Vegas is HEATING UP. It cranks to scorching for Baseball's Bad Boy Danny Brewer and America's Sweetheart Alexis Bodega. This series opener makes quick work of bringing Danny and Alexis together, but also puts up the stumbling blocks. I felt so badly for Alexis and how she was forced to live her life. But Danny could be just the future she's looking for.

From the previous Heat series, we knew first baseman Danny would use his hall pass for pop princess Alexis. But when Danny is finally able to meet his crush, what happens? Alexis sings the National Anthem at the Heat's opening game, and they cross paths. The sparks that fly are the sparkiest sparks to ever fly.

Alexis is a kept woman - and not just by a significant other. Her image is carefully crafted by her father and her handlers, and part of that image is that she remain so wholesome that she's almost too good to be true. Forced into a fake relationship with someone of her father's choosing, Alexis longs for the day when she can break away from her father and the whole situation. She's so close to having everything she's ever wanted. But then she meets Danny. Maybe what she wants isn't the same anymore?

The Empress of Cliffhangers has us in another chokehold. The ending of this one is going to take so much explaining, and while I know it'll all work out, I hate waiting! One thing I have to keep in mind here is that Lisa always gives us a happy ending, but we have to suffer first. And that's where we end haha
