Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4.5) Trope: billionaire, ONS Angst: 😱😱 Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely hilarious - my favorite one of the series! Eve is a super had working lady who had a quickie with a hot guy in a bar to blow off some steam, thinking she'd never see him again. Queue the discomfort when she goes to get a small business loan and the guy with all the decision making capabilities is her ONS. There's literally no way she'd accept money from a man she slept with, so she looks into being a cam girl to keep her business afloat. When Silas finds out, hilarity and shenanigans ensue.
Man Splain was really a super cute and steamy read that will have you literally laughing out loud. Definitely a great example of the "he falls first" trope. Eve has issues when it comes to men in her life trying to control her financially and, unfortunately for Silas, it bleeds into her perception of what any kind of relationship with him looks like. The story is well written, fast paced, and will leave you with a huge smile on your face while you anxiously await Man Scape.
4.5⭐️!! LOVED this!! A SUPER spicy book about a billionaire and a coffee shop owner! Silas and Eve has such fiery chemistry and just loved each other so much!! The mouth on Silas thooo🥵🔥
You definitely have to suspend reality while reading this but it’s great to get out of a book slump. So good!
Vanessa, I just freakin' LOVE the On A Manhunt series! Each book is funny, steamy, and swoony, and the mouths of these men are filthy. I have been devouring these books.
𝒢𝑜𝑜𝒹 🍆 𝒾𝓈 𝓈𝑜 𝓂𝓊𝒸𝒽 𝒷𝑒𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓃 𝒸𝑜𝒻𝒻𝑒𝑒.
Man Splain was a hilarious and steamy read. This is Silas and Eve's story, and I think this just might be my favorite one yet.
Silas James is the billionaire CEO of James Corp., and he meets Eve, a hot lady, at a bar. They hit it off and have a mind-blowing quickie in the bar's back office. Eve never expected to see him again until she goes for her interview at James Corp., where she applied for a small business loan, and she sees Silas Mr. Big 🍆, and is shocked, not wanting another man holding money over her. Oh, but Silas wants so much more because he's had a taste of Eve and knows they can be good together. But Eve wants no part of it. These two have some seriously explosive chemistry, and I loved their story.
After that little sneak peek of Man Scape, I can't wait to read Daniel's book.

Review:
Eve and Silas are such a fun couple! Their chemistry was amazing since the beginning. Eve was getting an eyeful of her neighbor that used to wear nothing while taking business calls. From this for them meeting by chance and all the crazy stuff they get themselves into, it’s sure to make the reader have a nice time! I’m sure I did! Besides, all books in this series are super hot with obsessed heroes who will do everything for the heroine. So if this is your jam, I totally recommend it!
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. ***
Although this is the 4th book of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone. It’s a high steam, small town rom-com, which follows the billionaire James brothers.
This is not my first Vanessa Vale novel, but it is the first I’ve read from this particular new contemporary series of her’s. If you’re like me and are more familiar with her ménage series, I think you’ll love this one too!
Eve is the owner of a Coffee shop in a resort town in Montana, and is in need of funding to keep the shop going; and Silas is a Billionaire CEO of a hotel chain, in the middle of negotiating a major acquisition. A chance encounter in a local bar leads to a steamy and spontaneous one night stand, and the two go their separate ways, knowing nothing more than first names.
Eve’s grandmother left her a large trust from which she can only access funds once she turns 30 or gets married. Turns out, her controlling father decided to make her ex-bf the executor of said trust, in an effort to force her to marry him. Eve will have none of it and instead, decides to apply for a small business loan being offered by none other than the James family.
The last step in acquiring this loan is an interview..but unbeknownst to Eve, her interviewer is none other than Silas James. A whirlwind of events (including online camming and a fake marriage) ensues along the way to their happily ever after.
I found this to be such a fun read, especially as a billionaire romance—which is typically not my favorite; but, Vanessa Vale just writes the type of Romance that you just eat right up! Tons of laugh out loud moments, a sexy and possessive hero who will do anything to make the heroine happy, and a strong and curvy heroine who isn’t afraid to go out and get what she wants..plus off the charts sexual chemistry! 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
This is not a slow burn but the pacing flowed perfectly and there’s still a little angst to keep you invested, so I definitely didn’t mind it. If you’re a fan of Tessa Bailey, love high steam, quick witted female characters, and confident heroes with BDE, then this is the perfect read for you!! Vanessa Vale never misses!
I promise, Silas and Eve will deliver a story you’re 100% not expecting! From the sparks igniting to the deceptions all around to the love that no one seems to admit to feeling, this is the perfect way for Silas to fall, as well as for Eve to find her perfect match.
At first, Silas is just enamored with his mystery woman. Then he’s intrigued. Then he’s absolutely invested, even if she won’t allow the investment his brothers are offering. Then come the secrets that really aren’t, and they’re also quite funny when the truth is shared. Along the way, love grows and I found myself wondering what dirty deeds are at play outside of these two. As it turns out, there’s more than even I thought there would be, but none of it feels OTT or unrealistic. I mean, yeah. He’s a billionaire. But the events around them still don’t feel like they’re outlandish. And the love that these two find definitely isn’t.
I adored the humor in this one just as much as I loved the bit of angst. Are they using each other, or are they just convinced that they’re not really wanted by the other? Are they meant to be, or are they a fling? I promise, you’ll need to know the answers just as much as I did.
This heroine gave me a headache with her negative, childish and stupidity thoughts about the hero when the hero did nothing wrong. Like dammit, communicate! Talk with the hero! Not assuming cruel bad things about him with your thoughts that so out of line! So freakin childish! The heroine really made me want to punch her so hard🥵😅 I can’t stand heroine like her that have many negative thoughts about someone whose trying to do the right thing for her…. I can’t. It’s so freakin annoying! 😓 Especially it happens many times! 💀💀💀💀
I get she had issues with her parents being so freakin rich and wealthy and bad parents for her but that doesn’t mean they are the same with your boyfriend aka the hero. Especially when the hero tries so many times to convince the heroine that he is not like her parents, he is trying to help her because she was definitely needed to be helped… BUT NOPE. The heroine again and again with her stupid brain assumptions about the hero, she always push him away and without even communicating, she thought the worst of him. It’s like watching a damn teenager heroine when she is much older! 😩🙄
So many unnecessary childish drama, YEAH MANY UNNECESSARY CHILDISH DRAMA BECAUSE THE HEROINE WON’T STOP CREATING STUPID DRAMA BECAUSE OF HER STUPID BRAIN 😓😓😓🥵🥵💀💀 TALK ABOUT DRAMATIC 🙄
Damn I’m glad I’m not too dramatic like this heroine. Her POV is annoying, childish, stupid and annoying human being. Many times i was frustrated with her thoughts… FOR EXAMPLE: The hero and heroine was left in a hurry to go to another state, so when they arrived the heroine have no clothes. The hero offer and gave her his black card to go shopping for clothes… In her thought that she was becoming her mother, likes to shopping and to dressed up with her father’s card🙄🙄🙄 Like what the fvck? Just take the damn card and go for it! But nope… She made a huge argument about it 😩😩😩 DAMN WOMAN SHUT UP!!!! AND SO MUCH MORE THAT SHE SAID ITS WRONG WHEN ITS NOT WRONG AT ALL!!!! LIKE IT IS SO HARD FOR HER TO THINK WITH COMMON SENSE!!! IT’S LIKE MOST OF THE TIME SHE DOESN’T USE HER FREAKIN BRAIN😓😓🥵
I didn’t even have fun reading this book because the heroine’s pov is freakin annoying and just ruin all the fun!!!! 🥵💀💀😭😓😓 She ruins and she damaged it all! The romance kind of dry up because of this stupid heroine! Yes dry up! 💀💀💀💀💀
THE HERO ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH HIS FATHER but did the heroine even thought about it and considered his problems is serious? Freakin nope. Because she is also very selfish and only thinks about herself most of the time in this freakin book 🙄🙄🙄🙄
‼️‼️‼️Quick one because I don’t like the heroine and she ruins the whole story and dries the romance on this book that supposed to be a romance novel: Triggers: Bad parents, death, violence. No cheating. Dual pov. No virgins but both are celibate for a while and clean. The hero is amazing, the hero is A CEO WITH AMAZING HOT BODY and the hero is over the top possessive protective billionaire alpha male. The heroine is the most annoying human being ever. Safe romance hot love story but dries (not too romantic) because the heroine ruins it with her appearance and boring ungrateful self. NO EX GIRLFRIEND OR EX FVCK BUDDY ever shows up from the hero side, only from the heroine side but not too annoying and not too much. A lot of pushing away from the heroine because she is very boring person. She’s a barista btw, but that’s the only part of her is great, yes only that! Many of the drama is about themselves especially from the heroine cause she’s very childish and stubbornly stupid with a poor mindset and other drama is about their family and business. Very extremely hot smut scenes😋😋😋 The hero loves to worship and adores and touches the heroine and always admits to it. Many jealous scenes from the hero and little from the annoying heroine… The chemistry is great between them but again it dries down cause the heroine. The hero was great though, his my favorite character here. The hero is extremely OBSESSED AND WANTS THE HEROINE SOOOOO VERY BADLY…. He even go to a plane the next day so he can go to the heroine, like he will do anything to make the stupid heroine his and always pursue her… He always says to the heroine YOU ARE MINE. Mine. Mine. Mine ❤️❤️❤️ AND YES HAPPY ENDING. Married.
The heroine did apologize and realize her own stupid childish error brain of hers in the end though…. BUT IT STILL ANNOYING 😩🙄
PLEASE AUTHOR MAKE A GREAT HEROINE CHARACTER AND WITH A GREAT PLOT TWIST. NOT A STUPID CHILDISH PLOT TWIST WITH A ANNOYING CHILDISH PUSH-AWAY HEROINE🥵🥵🥵 HOW I’M GOING TO ENJOY IT WHEN THE HEROINE IS LIKE THIS HUH? SHE DRIES UP THE ROMANCE AND MAKE IT ALL SUCKS!!!! 💀😭🥵😓 I END UP DID NOT ENJOY IT ALL… I END UP ANNOYED WITH MANY EYE ROLLING 😩😩😩
👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!
The fourth story in this series, On A Manhunt, has some laughing-out-loud scenes that had me loving the two main characters, Eve Hunter, and Silas James. These two quickly became my favorite couple of the James brothers. I enjoyed this story and as it unfolds, we learn more about their past and what drives each of them. If you have read the three previous books in this series, characters from them will have cameo appearances in this one.
Eve Hunter is nothing like her parents and more like her grandparents. She learned early in life that you couldn’t please them, and if you showed any enjoyment in something, especially if they deemed it mundane, they took that away from you. Sending her off to boarding school and then onto college, Eve made plans for herself and her future. She knew she had a trust fund left to her by her grandparents. She starts a coffee shop called Steaming Hotties. While she is doing well, she is needing more money for the business—which her father refuses to allow her to have.
Silas James is the CEO of the James Hotel conglomerate and his life is lived from location to location. He may wake up in one country today and two days later, be on another continent. Getting to go to Hunter Valley, Montana, and see what is happening there is actually a break in his normal hectic routine.
The story’s plot will have Eve and Silas meeting at a bar, having several shots and a hot quickie in a back office. What a shock when Silas fills in for Maverick and Eve walks in for a small business loan. Because they have had a fling, she refuses to accept the money. But, some of the ideas her friend shares with her to earn money quickly add so much humor to this tale. Trust me, things will get heated up without them being together.
I loved the chemistry between these two and what seems like a quick solution to their problems, leads them to new problems. Will they be able to get past their past history with family members and acknowledge that they are great together? In the end, these two discover that they aren’t like their parents and that they really do love each other.

Man Splain was just impossible to put down. it was so addictive I couldn’t stop reading it. it was fun and entertaining while also having amazing spicy scenes 😮💨 this is a billionaire CEO romance with a coffee shop owner with some of my favourite tropes 🫶🏻
Silas and Eve were just amazing and they have a great chemistry and relationship 🫶🏻 did I mentioned the spice is really good? 🥵
can’t wait for the next books in this series.
read this book if you love: ✨ billionaire romance ✨ small town ✨ fake marriages
thank you Valentine PR and Vanessa Vale for the ARC for this book 💗
Man Splain is book four in the on a Manhunt series by Vanessa Vale and it might be one of my favorites yet.
Silas James is the CEO of James Corp he's used to multitasking he's used to A busy life he is used to all of the chaos that comes with running a multi-billion dollar Corporation. He is trying to write the wrongs of his father's business deals and trying to prove that not only he is not like his father but that James Corp can be even better than what it was when their father was running the business. He doesn't have time for relationships he sees his brothers have fallen in love and found their one and only and he's extremely happy for them. He doesn't see it in the future for himself though. Until a beautiful stranger sits next to him in the bar. The one night that he let his inhibitions down and he just let loose and followed his instinct to have fun grab a hold of what he wanted and not be remorseful about it at all changed his life completely. He couldn't get her out of his head. And that is just fantastic for me as a reader seeing the man fall first. It is truly one of my favorite tropes. Eve Hunter is the owner operator of Steamin hotties coffee shop in the small town of Hunter Valley. She knows what hard work and dedication can do. She knows the struggles of running a small business. She has a goal that she has set and she's determined to reach it. Her new backyard neighbor has caught her eye though even though he doesn't know it. When we find out who her neighbor is that she loves watching early morning unknown to him which is comical and hotter than a thousand suns. Eve has her own troubles other than running a small business. Her parents are so controlling, her ex-boyfriend controlling and just downright not a good man. He is an absolute jerk and we are cheering on Eve and her lovely friend June for the payback that they give her ex. It doesn't matter what Eve's last name is, she doesn't want anyone controlling her, or her business. She might be a hunter from Hunter Valley, she might be descendant of the people who founded the town but she is not never has and never will be one of those snooty stuck up holier than thou wealthy people. When she can't take it after finding out her father and ex are still trying to control her life and aren't seeing her dream and her vision of her business that she takes it seriously she needs to just let loose and go somewhere to relax yourself. Ending up in the small bar in town sitting next to a stranger she realizes he's not such a stranger, but her hot neighbor that she sees every morning and oh does she sees the moment. The chemistry is on fire between Silas and Eve. It is phenomenal the way these two characters just go together like it's meant to be. Silas can't get her out of his head, Eve can't get him out of her head. And when push comes to shove they both use that chemistry and their attraction to each other so they can positively gain for their businesses. But it is oh so much more than that as you read the story you can tell there's more. There are complications, messy feelings, misunderstandings and it is fabulous in the end.
I absolutely adore Silas and Eve and Man Splain is probably my favorite one of the entire series. I can't get over this story it lives rent free in my mind and I am perfectly okay with that.
This was my first Vanessa Vale book and I have been wanting to read the “On A Manhunt” series for so long!
I did get this book as an ARC copy for an honest review and that’s what you will ever get from me!
This book was SEEEXXXAAY! 🌶🔥
My absolute favorite thing was the chemistry between Eve the FMC and Silas the MMC. They were so obsessed with each other and gave into that so shamelessly and I loved it!
Eve has a new neighbor who loves to makes his coffee while talking on the phone, NAKED every morning at 5am. Lucky her, she can see him right from her bedroom window. One night they end up at the same bar where she immediately recognizes him, they have a few drinks and things get pretty steamy very quickly. A one night stand, :clears throat: quickie, ends up haunting them for weeks. Silas is busy CEO trying to close a deal, traveling while Eva is trying to save her coffee shop by any means necessary. You see, her funds are drying out, her trust fund is in hands of her ex, yep her ex, who is cornering her by not giving her access until she marries him while she refuses to marry for money (even if its her own) or any guy who wants to suck the life out of her by having her give up on her own dreams. In comes Silas unknowingly, to offer her a business loan granted by his company. Eva denies the loan and the real drama begins. How far will she go to keep her dream alive while not implicating her “relationship” with Silas. Which again, is hotter than hot Georgia on a hot summer day! Even in the conference room where she rejects the offer, Silas has to clear the entire office because they cant keep their hands off each other. LOOOVE. So after declining the offer she turns to a more unconventional method to make money. It involves a spicy reads, minimal clothing, an audience and a web-cam. When Silas gets word, well he turns a little possessive, buys out her chat time and gets more than what he bargained for since this begins a whirlwind of events that lead him to almost lose that deal he’s been trying to close. The real question for me though was why her ex got control of her trust fund and what secrets is her family keeping hush hush. Man Splain was a good, fun, fast and 🔥spicy🔥 read.
I rated this 4 stars because it felt a little too insta- love for me. Although I really enjoyed Eve and Silas I felt like I didn't really get to know them. Silas may have more story that started in the other bookF

Man Splain by Vanessa Vale is the fourth fantastic brother’s book in the On a Manhunt series! They can be read as standalones but I recommend reading the entire series because this idyllic town, this group of families & friends & the love & spice they provide is any romance reader’s dream.
Man Splain revolves around billionaire businessman, Silas James as he crosses paths with a feisty stranger at a bar for one unforgettable night. Shortly thereafter, down on her luck coffee shop owner, Eve, goes in for a meeting on a much needed small business loan only to come face to face with the attractive man from the bar that left a lasting impression. The chemistry & the spice between these two is out of this world. I don’t want to give away anymore specifics but this is one interesting story, which is thankfully unlike anything I’ve read before!
Every book in this series scores with unique story lines, fiery spice, & just the right amount of emotion mixed with humor guaranteed to create a place to get lost in. I loved all the cameos from the brothers & their loved ones from the other books. They are such an entertaining family with their banter & continuous teasing all sealed together with the bond that is made from love of family.
I was ecstatic to learn this isn’t the last one in the series!! I’ve had so much fun reading these books & I cannot wait to read the next one!
For any romance readers that enjoy book series about a family of brothers with each having their own standalone books full of love, heart & spice, I recommend checking out the On a Manhunt series, which is out now!
Massive thanks to the author & Valentine PR for the free arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.
I was so excited to go back to Hunter Valley, and Silas and Eve gave me all the laughs I was expecting. Man Splain gives us Silas James’ story. Silas is the last remaining James brother and he doesn’t disappoint. He falls fast just like this brothers. And he is a a workaholic who is so focused on being better than his dad. Eve is the woman who owns the coffee shop, but we find out that she is rich. However, her parents hold the strings to her trust fund.
Eve has a lot of hang-ups and stubborn streak a mile wide. Which as you read, you can understand. There were definitely times in which that stubborn streak was almost too much. But I could understand why she held on to her convictions as well. She tries so many things to get ahead but there is always an obstacle in her way.
Silas is borderline obsessed with Eve from their first moment. He adjusts his life to find time for her. Then he makes a statement that changes the trajectory of their lives in the best ways.
I loved these two together. They are dynamic on the page and while they both are driven they communicate well… until they don’t. But the reasoning behind the communication break down isn’t a miscommunication. It is Silas moving forward and Eve panicking. I really love their story… but the third act break up and the way in which it goes down I wish had went a little differently. But it doesn’t take away from the story at all. Grab these two and enjoy the gloriousness that is Hunter Valley.
POV: Dual 1st Person Put out percentage: 10% Tropes: Billionaire; Small Town; One Night Stand; Instant Connection; Series: On A Manhunt book 4 Type of Series: Series of Standalones Is there a 3rd act break up: Yes
Oh Vanessa, this series just gets better with each book. Thank you so much.
Eve is our Steaming Hotties coffee shop owner but has a problem, Cheney.. her ex that her parents are set that she is marrying. Her father gives him control of money that was left to her and he has his own opinion on her little coffee shop ‘hobby’ so freezes everything. Eve goes about finding another way of paying her bills and staff wages. After a wild mind blowing romp in the back office of the town bar with her neighbour Silas, Eve realises she cant take a loan from the James brothers so turns to camming. The naughty virgin librarian doesnt know that the person whos watching her is the one person she enjoys to watch too. When they find out each others secrets it is PHENOMENAL. The chemistry these two have is insane. The sex is better. Silas knows how to satisfy!
One marriage of convenience later and lots of spilled truths from every angle and Silas is now trying to convince Eve that what they have is real. They both benefitted from the vows but his feelings arent fake and never were.
This is full of laugh out loud banter & wit. Hotter than hell spice. And even a few swoon worthy moments. Vanessa Vale is a one click author for me, the pages turn themselves and what was a few hundred pages just disappeared. I adore this series (each one could be read as standalone but every single one is well worth a read. You will not be disappointed) only 1 left to go in the series, and the next one isnt a James but im so looking forward to it after reading what its about 👀
Every book in this series keeps getting better and better. Small town romance vibes with the perfect amount of spice and a variety of MMCs to choose from.
In book 4 we meet CEO billionaire, Silas James, and a struggling coffee shop owner, Eve Hunter. Eve has been spending her early mornings watching her neighbor who likes to walk around his house w/nothing on, so she’s shocked to run into him at a bar where things get hot and heavy & they end up having a one-night stand in the back room.
Flash forward a few days & Eve is in desperate need of a loan for her business and when she arrives at the loan meeting who is there…Silas of course.
She can no longer take the loan because she refuses to be given help from a man she’s involved with. Throughout their journey they both struggle with allowing themselves to be loved & believe they deserve that love. But this man is so obsessed with her and I love it. He also calls her kitten, which might be a new fav nickname 😍
Did I mention she becomes cam girl to get the money she needs…and when Silas finds out the story just gets hotter and hotter!
This is probably my favorite of the series so far. If you looking for a fun read I highly recommend!

"Man Splain" is the fourth book of the On a Manhunt series by Vanessa Vale and this volume is about cafe owner Evelyn Hunter and the last James brother Silas.
For me, "Man Splain" is the second novel by Vanessa Vale and the second book in the On a Manhunt series that I have read. However, Silas and Evelyn's story can be read regardless of the order within the series.
When I saw that Evelyn was the protagonist of the newest story I was very excited! We already got to meet her in Manhunt and I really liked her then. She owns the café Steming Hotties where Bridget and Maverick met for the first time. Evelyn's parents are part of the founding families and are very rich and live off their wealth. Evelyn is the complete opposite of her parents and makes her own money. I really like her. What I like about her is not only her independence, but also her sass and how hard she always tries to do the right thing.
Silas is a billionaire CEO and heir to a hotel empire. He tries everything to make up for his father's mistakes and show everyone that he has nothing in common with him. He is a problem solver. When he meets Evelyn he knows for sure that she is the one for him. I really like Silas. Even though he is a workaholic, he is not arrogant or aloof. He is so kind and sweet. I adore him.
If the story was one thing then hot and steamy! The pages were really on fire already! The chemistry between Evelyn and Silas was just 🔥. I also loved the friendship between the girls.
From me, "Man Splain" gets 4 out of 5 stars.
Thank you to author and pr company for providing me with an ARC.
I love the "On a Manhunt" series and Man Splain became my second favourite.
Eve and Silas met at a bar and they had a one-night stand. Without his knowledge, she was actually his neighbour and was admiring him from afar. Fate decided to intervene and they met again. She finds out that Silas is the one person who can help her get her business going, but because of their night together, she can't accept the help. From then on, their journey begins.
I loved them as a couple. Eve was a very nice heroine and Silas was your typical alpha possessive hero...just the way I like it. I could definitely feel the growing love and all the scenes were really good. Oh, the passion...OMG...The passion was heavy, the sparks were flying and the smut was soo soo good 🔥🔥🔥. What I also adored was the meetings with the characters from the previous books. It was fun seeing how their lives are going.
Overall, I loved this book and especially Eve and Silas ♥️♥️♥️.
***I received an ARC from Valentine PR and this is my voluntary review.***
This one was fun! I have to say, as the series goes on, I feel like the smut level is slowly increasing while the plot level is quickly decreasing so maybe don't expect TOO much of the latter 😂
Eve and Silas are horny. SO horny. God. But they were still cute! There's loads of different aspects to their relationship that get explored here and my favourite one was Eve and how she felt about Silas trying to pay for everything. Usually I hate FMCs who are like "nooo sexy billionaire pls don't spend money on me!!" but here she has a good reason for it and Silas and her actually talk about it and work towards a solution.
I know the cam girl thing is the one mainly advertised in the blurb but it came so out of left field 😭 girl was really like "i'll take anything i can get at this point"
We're done with the James brothers (sad) but honestly, these are absolutely addicting to read and I'll be continuing with the next ones.
Sometimes, what starts as a one off fling between strangers in the back office of a bar turns into something far more complicated...
Billionaire CEO Silas James and coffee shop owner turned cam girl Eve Hunter (of Hunter valley) are the MCs of this romance and it was SO much fun to read! The tension, the 🔥, Eve's fierce independance and Silas' fixation on her all tied together perfectly and brought the fourth James brother to his knees. As the series says, its open season on men, and the Author has created such a vibrant community to bring to life these romances whilst still making then feel extremely personal.
I've binged the entire series on KU over the last few days and can't wait for the next book in the series, Man Scape (these titles are genius), which will be the first to star a non-James brother MMC!
This was my first book by Vanessa Vale and it will certainly not be the last!! I was hooked from the very beginning! It was pretty much a one sit read for me! If you like small town, alpha hero, fake marriages then you will love this one! I found myself chuckling throughout this book! The only bummer was that this one had to end! I really enjoyed Silas and Eve!! For all my spice lovers this one won’t disappoint! This is a true standalone! This is the fourth book in this series and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything or that the other books were spoiled! The epilogue made me super excited for the next book in the series! I definitely recommend this one!!
Hunter Valley, Montana, is horny-town USA at this point. How this book was even spicier than first three is bananas. From needing cash because her trust fund is being held hostage by her father and her terrible ex, Eve decides to camming will be the best way to keep her coffee shop (a town staple!) open until she can take control at 30yrs old. Her and Silas are effing fire this whole book... from their quickie in the back of the bar, through the computer screen, and a snowed in lodge. Such a good book!!
This was a quick and steamy read. The plot immediately captured my attention and kept it so much so that I read it in almost one sitting. This book can be read as a stand-alone, however, I fell in love with the James family and everybody in Hunter Valley and I look forward to reading the previous On A Manhunt series.

WOWW ...So this is book number 4 in the Hunt for a Man Series and wow, they did get better and better after the first book with Mav and Bridget's story. Really love how Silas and Eve have found their way into a torrid relationship and again, what a hottt hott hottt meet cute !!! Again a really endearing love story with all the modern day trappings and an amazing happy ever after end.
This is a fun, easy to read series. It's always a little insta-lovey for me, but it gets right to the spice for sure. As usual I hated that these two didn't communicate and had they been open with each other there would have been a lot less problems.
