Tutto quello che sai è falso è l'edizione italiana della raccolta di saggi, inchieste e testimonianze curata dal sito cult d'informazione alternativa Disinformation.com, diventato negli Stati Uniti un vero e proprio caso editoriale. Howard Zinn, William Blum, Greg Palast, Noreena Hertz e altre firme autorevoli affrontano i temi più controversi, censurati e falsificati dai mass media.
Editor of the website The Memory Hole which publishes and archives hidden US government documents, including scientific studies and reports, civil rights-related reports, intelligence and covert action reports.
He was also editor-at-large for The Disinformation Company, where he had published several books including The Book of Lists and 50 Things You're Not Supposed to Know.
There's a lot of conspiracy theories out there, but this actually shows some truth to a lot of them. Kinda creepy. A real page turner and kept me awake at night.
This book isn't great. It puts exclamation points after things that most intelligent people already know: The U.S. government knew about Sept. 11 before it happened (!). The animals we eat are often abused (!). That said, I found an enlightening and depressing article about the origins of American compulsory schooling that woke this teacher up a little bit. It was fascinating to discover that some of the doubts and problems I've had with ed in the short time I've been a part of it are justifiable and not just my job making me itchy. The problem is that the system appears to be irrevocably broken. It sort of started out that way.
the other day, some guy on my block hit his girlfriend in the leg with a baseball bat. as she screamed in pain for help, i ran across the street and asked her if she wanted me to call the cops. the man walked out of the house (bat in hand, it was aluminum, what a pussy) and as she screamed yes he said "we have a phone" in the coldest way possible.
If you wonder about Globalization, Pharmaceutical testing practices, the European Union, "Watchdog Groups", Serial killers, mad cow disease, controlling children through drugs, or a host of other topics and feel that the mainstream media isn't doing their job to inform you, you need to read this book. If you've never thought twice about any of these topics, besides needing to pull your head out of the sand, you need to read this book.
Still reading this but some great interesting facts and I like that you can pick the subjects instead of reading from cover to cover! It really does barely scratch the surface but at the least will get a few sheeple thinking.
Yes I put it in conspiracy, when really it's not, but it is. Doesn't make sense I know, but it makes perfect sense. This book is chalked full of what is considered conspiracies by many and to the credit of all of the authors in this book, they away from the conspiracy side of the many events in this book. Instead the authors go with fact and leave the choice up to the reader. this is a book i have had on and off for many years. Everytime a I get a copy I wind up loaning it out to someone to read and forget who has it, thus buying a new one every time. I hope others are passing this book around like I often do. A book like this doesn't come around often enough. So many books out there want to tell us what to believe and why we should believe. There is hardly any journalist objectivity anymore these days. If you haven't read this book it is a must. Grab it from the library, book store, online retailer or hell even an e reader. Just dont let something like this pass you up. Knowledge is free all you have to do is ask.
Like any collection of essays, some are great and others are kind of...meh. Good bedside read, as you flip through and read the essays that tickle your fancy.
Meglio lasciar perdere.
A few decent articles, but for the most part, the Lamestream Media is ignoring these stories because they're poorly researched and poorly written, not because the ideas are Too Dangerous To Know!!!!
Mickey Z's article on veganism made me, who is generally in favour of veganism, think that perhaps I should reconsider and go eat kittens. If the pro-vegan movement is *that* awful, maybe I should get further away from it.
Journalism this bad isn't being covered up by the Man. It's not being covered because it's just bad journalism.
The content wasn’t interesting for Arabic readers, most of the parts was related to the author culture which is far away from the Arabic culture. Overall, the book is nice to read in the car or while waiting.. but not more.
Some of the conspiracies written about in this book are right on target. Others are downright laughable. The idea that there were other Columbine shooters is interesting, but complete fantasy. Other parts of the book involve mad cow disease, childhood vaccination conspiracies, wasted tax dollars, and so forth. It is right wing nonsense.
Anthologies are really, really rough to give overall ratings for because there are some phenomenal entries and quite a few WTF-I-have-no-idea-where-the-hell-that-came-from parts.
Waitwaitwait, hahahaha, now I'm laughing about this book! It was saying that you had to go online for the full table of contents, but now here I am looking at it. It lied to me.
That's the name of the game, so that's why I like it.
As a rebellious kid, this was a fun read. Great for middle schoolers who want to feel smug discovering all the ways fun facts they can share where their pre-teen friends about how society is lying to them.
Like all the other Disinformation Guides, this one is dense and best taken in small doses over time. Despite sometimes feeling like a compilation of conspiracy theory, all of the pieces are heavy with outside references and clearly put forth.
This book is ultra-conservative late night talk radio in print format. It full of speculation, untruths, conspiracy theories, and just plain stupid articles. I am sending the book to the recycle bin.
