Strictly for over 18’s

After months of grieving her dead boyfriend Rin, Lilah agrees to go with her friend Moxy to the fetish club they all used to visit together. Working her way up to the elusive ‘invitation only’ third floor by playing the ‘sub’ Lilah finally finds the pleasure/pain combination she needs…….. that is until her blindfold is removed and the identity of her ‘dominant’ is revealed.

I feel I might be shot for this review as I seem to be alone in my negative response to the read.

I was lead to believe that I would be ‘shocked’ by the bad-ass content, the cutting with razors and drinking blood to gain sexual high’s, but really?? Come on, we live in the age of vampire mania how can this type of thing begin to surprise us? Yes we were told about our protagonist fingering herself and about her throbbing clit but I have read far more graphic erotica with scenes much better described and more detailed than this.

Believe me I am not in the least bit disturbed by the BDSM contained in this book, or by the masturbation, group sex, self harm, blood or any of the other sexual fetishes covered in it, my gripes are all to do with the execution of this mediocre plot.

The writing style is ‘not the best’ for a published piece of work. Written in first-person narrative I quickly began to hate the word ‘I’ and it was not uncommon to find the word ‘and’ FOUR times in one sentence. I really am stuck for words to describe the shockingly bad structuring of this whole novella, and cannot believe it made it through the edit stage without having some of the syntax issues addressed. At the end of the day this book is on the market and readers put their trust in this author and her publisher enough to part with their money and spend their time reading, in return they expect a half decent read.

This is a fairly short story, which is, I assume, why we have star breaks instead of chapters and the only reason I persevered and read to the end, had it been full length I would not have finished it. I am grateful for one thing and that is that I downloaded my copy free from Amazon and the only thing I have wasted is my time.

Hea y'all Anne here and I got to read Razor and I am still sweating and blushing from this book. This book is absolutely adult only book. That being said lets get to it. Rue Volley has taken a subject of hushed conversations and whispered secrets and shined a giant spot light on it, fetishes have always been treated as dirty secrets to be hidden and never discussed. In this time and society people need to get over it and accept that some of us are just different and that's how it is. That being said here goes, Lilah is the main character, a mess of a girl battling depression and grief when her boyfriend dies. She anxiously searches for another lover to fill the void but she is convinced no one can understand her the way "He" did. Lilah has a secret and she covets it like a child but she must release it in order to accept it and herself. After self wallowing and her pity parade Lilah is talked into visiting a club she use to frequent all the time with "him" but now she is alone and being harassed by a man that she outwardly has no interest in but inside she wants to tear his clothes off. While at the club she feels funny, she does things she wouldn't usually do and she is being lead into the tigers den to say. Once there she submits to the agonizing release of being humiliated and subservient to a complete stranger, but it's as though he is reading her mind. He knows exactly how to please her and she is complacent to his twisted will, until... The twist at the end is insane and unexpected and I won't tell you anymore. so it's 5 out of 5 stars for Razor by rue Volley can't wait for the next book in the Saga..

Let’s just assume that anyone reading my review of Rue Volley’s erotic piece, Razor, is okay with profanity. That being said, let’s get to it.

We find Lilah in a club looking for a good fuck to help her forget her dead lover, Rin. She just wants a good lay and there is nothing saccharine about it. She is on a purely carnal mission.

Unsatisfied, she leaves and shortly we are introduced to her best friend and one time lover. The search for blood and pain, Lilah’s ultimate orgasmic combination, lead them to an old haunt-- Razor, an exclusive fetish club that pushes the boundaries of pleasure and pain.

I don’t want to give too much away, so let me say this. Grab a copy and you will not be disappointed. That is, if you love reading something dark, twisted, and sexually charged. And who doesn’t like that?

The ending is a complete mind fuck and it leaves you wanting more. I will anxiously submit myself to the sequel.

Ok, First off this story is strictly for ADULTS…Now, that being said, here we go.
Razor is a crazy ride, truly.
I don’t normally read stuff on the darker side of sex. I guess I just never had the opportunity to do this. Most of what I read is more on the romance side of sexy. But, I picked this up because I enjoyed The Blood and Light Series by Rue Volley (recommended!)

Razor, follows a storyline about a woman who is grieving for a man, the only man who could love her the way she wanted, or needed. This is a short read, and I can’t say much without giving up some of the story, but I will say this…the ending blew me away, I was totally floored. I will definitely be getting the next installment in the Razor series because I want to know what happens with Lilah.

So, if you enjoy hot, sexy reads with bondage and fetishes, then you will enjoy Razor.

Rue Volley's Razor book one in the Razor Saga was an intense read from start to finish. It had me under it's spell and on the edge of my seat within moments. Volley explores the darker side of sexy by sucking you into the hardcore world of BDSM and takes it to a whole new level. In the privacy of the cities most exclusive sex clubs she tells a twisted story of undying love, lust, betrayel and despair between a Dominant and his Submissive. A must read for all who are interested in the lifesyle of Bondage and Fetish. Get prepared to be consumed with smoking hot sex and a thrill that keeps you guessing to the very end!! 5 Stars!

I got this book from Nicola at Fantasy and Vampire book club.

I have to assume this book is considered Eroctica.

What to say? This book was dark, twisted, and very well told. I had no idea where this book would take me, but I never envisioned where I ended up. Do I want to move on with the next book, heck yeah! We were left with a cliffhanger I will be thinking over for days to come.

This was a quick very enjoyable read. I recommend to anyone who is into BDSM or wants a fun read that may take them out of their comfort zone.

I picked up a copy of this novella when it was free on the KDP Select Program because I LOVE vampires. I was impressed by the story and the main character. I found the take on 'vampirism' interesting as it was NOT in a supernatural setting, but what we currently see as a growing subculture in modern day society. The twist at the end didn't surprise me. Maybe I'm jaded, I don't know. For me it was kind of expected. I would have loved to give this story more stars, but there were two things that got to me:

1) The editing of this novella. There are parts in this where it shifts from past tense to present tense and then back again, and the numerous grammar errors. This is the second book I've read published by Vamptasy Publishing, and it is the second book that had substantive errors in it. I don't blame the author in this at all. This is the publisher's issue with their editor, but it does make me triple guess whether or not I'm going to get any more books published by them.

2) There is a scene where a razor is used to slash a person's neck, causing that person to bleed to death and die. Unless it's a straight razor, which is NEVER indicated in the novel, one assumes it's either a disposable razor or a blade insert razor. In either case, you cannot cut deep enough to cause such damage. Again, this is something that Ms. Volley's editor should have caught.

Over all, it's a good story that could have had a better editor.

3.5 STARS

Razor, is an exclusive fetish club that pushes the boundaries of pleasure and pain. Its twisted, dark and contains BDSM and erotic fetishes. Pain for some brings pleasure of all magnatude and this read clearly states this. ADULTS ONLY ! FOR SURE ...

A fast paced read filled with raw and undenied wants, erotic and BDSM pratices Razor will take you mabye to a place you have never been. Open your eyes as a reader to what some people enjoy as there pleasures in life, and to what extent they will go to get it. Its an interesting storyline, but not for the faint hearted.

Sex,bondage , blood , pain .... and an ending you wont see coming. I will keep following this series as Im now curious as to how it pans out. But keep in mind this story relates to a submissive that turns agressor !! A twist you wont see coming !

Pain is inflicted, blood, and alot of dark elements are explored but keep in mind that this is all consensual practices within the read.

A quick read that will certainly have your breathe baited and pulse racing, .... but be sure that your opened minded before reading Razor !!

Its the darker side of BDSM some may never want to explore and a read and others may just enjoy every slice .

The Review
I was not totally convinced I would enjoy this, I am not really a fetish fan, although we all have what we like, lol, but anyway I LOVED it, I really enjoyed the struggles that Lilah went through after losing "Rin" to try and forget him, it broke my heart, the heartache she went through, you could imagine somebody being like that after the death of a loved one has died, I loved how Rue wrote about it all, then the twist, OMG, was not expecting that, This book is HOT HOT HOT little read, I would highly recommend people read this one, Just try it, it will open your eyes to another world of Dominance, revenge and Pain 5/5

Review of “Book one in the Razor Saga” by Rue Volley

Have you ever read a novella and came to the last sentence and said, “That can’t be?” That is how this novella by Rue Volley was for me!

This is an excellent piece of erotica and vampirism mixed novella, I was so interested in the story, I read it in one sitting and wanted to read more. I can’t tell you too much of the action because it might spoil the juicy story. However, suffice it to say, it was sexy, smart, quick, heart wrenching and most of all surprising! Very surprising!

So, if you are a 'Vampire Connoisseur' like me, and like your stories with hot and spicy sides, you will love this novella my Rue Volley!

Just do me a favor, remember I told you so at the end, it will knock your socks off!

Rated X for extra racy and smoldering! Truly a great story like “Razor” deserves 5 out of 5 stars with hot and steamy to go! Great little read by Rue Volley!

I received this book from Rue Volley in exchange for an honest review.

I was promised a twisted tale of love, a tale that would take me deeper into the dark world of fetish, bondage and submission than I have ever gone before, a graphic series with scenes of extreme violence and sexual scenes. One book into the series and I can see that when Rue says this is explicit then that's what you need to expect.

This is an excellent mix of erotica and vampirism and BDSM that I read it in one sitting. Some of the content wasn't quite to my tastes, but it fits with the rest of the story and that's what matters, after all the whole purpose of a book is to lose yourself in someone else's story, not to read about yourself. It has not put me off reading the rest of the series. Not for the faint hearted or those who are easily offended. This book is definitely for the over 18.

I had the opportunity to read this little gem, and OMy what a read it is. NOT A YA READ that is for sure.
WOW WOW WOW This short grabbed me at first sight. I loved it’s twisted storyline.
Razor looks into a twisted love with pleasure and pain, fetishes, bondage and yes, submission too. Lilah is distraught and missing her deceased lover Rin, going and looking for a way to fulfill her needs. But she soon discovers that all is what it seems to be. The final twist threw me for one hellacious loop, I did not even see it coming.
This is the first installment of the short story Razor series. It has strong language and graphic scenes. Quite the good dirty read. Made me blush more than once that is for sure.

I was given this book by the author in return for an honest review.

We follow Lilah as she try's to come to term with the death of her lover Rin, who was an artist that painted in human blood and introduced Lilah to the darker more erotic sex.
She finally decides to return to the club "Razor" that they used to go to together and is quickly selected to go to "Level 3", where she is cuffed and blindfolded for her body to be pleasured and used whilst at the same time having her body delicately sliced to heighten the experience. But when the blindfold come's off Lilah get's a massive shock. The twist at the end is bloody fantastic (no pun intended).
I absolutely LOVE this author's work an look forward to reading more.

I had the pleasure of being given this short story by the author as i needed something different to read between books. I must say i really liked the book, it had a well defined story-line, that was well written and descriptive. The sex scenes were well choreographed and left just enough to the imagination to make them believable. The characters had depth and purpose, with thoughts and feelings that stood out. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read erotica, especially those who want something a bit different involving bdsm and domination.
