About the author

Jane Struthers fell in love with astrology, palmistry, tarot reading and reading tea leaves in her teens, and shes never looked back. She is a professional, full-time writer and astrologer, who has appeared on television and radio many times. She is currently the astrologer for Bella, the best-selling weekly womens magazine, and before that she was the astrologer for The Sun, writing as Gemini Jane.

Jane has written over twenty books on a wide variety of subjects, but she specializes in mind, body and spirit topics. She trained as a healer at the College of Psychic Studies in London and has completed the first stage of the Bach Flower Remedies training. She teaches astrology at the London School of Astrology, and has also lectured abroad on astrology and tarot.

This book takes the time to explore several of the most common forms of divination and gives a strong start with each method from Tarot, Cartomancy, Numerology, Astrology-East, and West, and Palmistry. Each chapter gives a thorough over-view of the standard meanings, how to modify with experience, and a few examples of readings. I appreciate the addition of Cartomancy as many volumes neglect to include, if they do, it is sparse. It also featured the Astro Mythological deck that is a personal favorite; visually stunning, and multi-faceted beyond the better known playing cards.

I especially liked the compatibility charts in the Astrology section that demonstrated Eastern, and Western zodiacs.
This serves as an excellent introduction to these methods.

Very pleasant book. Presents the basic rules of five kinds of divination in a simple yet well delievered way. It's neat, practical and rich with fundamental knowledge. A really good starting point for those interested in predicting the future or just willing to know a little more about themselves.

Oh, and on the contrary to the most books on the subject, palm reading in this one is explained really clearly.

Definitely worth recommending.
