Book two in the Guardian series.
Hannah’s life has never been easy, despite her strong willed determination and her extra “gifts”, it's still always been hard work keeping an entire world full of the supernatural under control, but having achieved a small semblance of control over most of the custas, Hannah was hoping to be able to slip back into her life of normalcy. Wishful thinking when you're the guardian of all supernatural.
With all the issues she’d had to endure in her past, she'd never had to worry about the mermaids before, so why would they choose now to suddenly start haunting her dreams and her life. Then there are the fairies to contend with as well, just when she manages to get one aspect of the crudelitas under control, the others decide it’s time to start causing problems.
All Hannah wants is some quiet family time and a chance to reflect on her feelings for Gabriel but instead she's thrown back into the thick of the supernatural world, and this time it threatens to invade the quiet family life she has worked so hard to establish. There's no running away this time, she has to front the challenges head on, but forever can be a long time if you can't be with the one you love.

THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!!

I received a free ARC copy of Forever (Guardian #2)for my honest review.

I loved Guardian. I did love it so much. When I love a first book that much, it makes me a little afraid to read the next. I'm always scared I will be let down. BUT THAT DID NOT HAPPEN AT ALL. QUITE THE OPPOSITE

We follow Hannah in her rebirthed life in Australia with her kids and her job as Guardian and her forever longing for the wonderful Gabriel. Yummy, delicious Gabriel. If you've read Guardian you know that Hannah's belief that a relaionship between the Guardian and a vampire is not allowed is always in the way of how they both feel. It continues to be the elephant in the room.

Then there is Jesse, rash, hardheaded Jesse. (Ok, Hannah is too forgiving. I would melt his head right off for what he tried to do).

I don't want to give it away in any specific details, but we see more/different supernatural beings, a surprise visitor from Hannah's past and a very happy ending that left me more than satisfied and yet wanting more. (I was basking in delight at the end)

This is turning out to be one of my most favorite book series EVER.

It is rare for me to find a sequel in trilogy which is even remotely as good as the original book. For the second time this year I found a sequel not only as good but even better than the first book in the trilogy. This makes me very excited to read the third book in the trilogy. Oh and good news, It may not be a trilogy any longer, it might turn out in a series. Goodness knows Hannah has enough to keep us busy for the next three hundred years.
The story begins fast and the pace keeps up throughout the book until it ends in a smashing finalè. Hannah's desperate attempts to keep her children safe is crumbling around her and in an attempt to keep them safe she is pulled into situations she normally would not have engaged in. This lands her into deep trouble and with possibly two more lethal enemies.
Hannah's character is so human and unique that I go, oh my gosh, is that what it sounds like when I pout? Gabriel, Sam, Bernard et al returns to play even more prevalent and pivotal roles in this book. Gabriel is still perfectly perfect but this book will have you sympathize with him more than ever before. Bernard seems to have a new love interest although he would never admit it and Sam is obsessed with Hannah's children. A new character is introduced. Hannah's biological rebirth mother. (No I do not have that part wrong. When you are Hannah, having two biological mothers is only of one those things. Hannah's mother serves to ground the story and brings a warm texture to the story the way cream does to cappuccino. I really learned to love her in this book and can't remember when last I was this invested in a fictional characters return to health.
It is very hard to tell you guys anything more about the actual story line without giving away plot twists. The story is fast, intricate and rich.
I do however feel I need to share two very important issues with you. Firstly, both the second and the first books end with little if any loose ends. I love this aspect since it means until I read the next book I do not walk around with unanswered questions in my head. I find this a very big plus in this and any other book.
Secondly, although the characters from the first book all (if they lived through the first that is) return to the second book, if you as reader should choose to read the second and not the first you will not be left wondering what or who they are, they are introduced naturally and logically back into the story one by one. Aah scrap previous comment I have three and not two things I need to say. The third thing, if you read the second book back to back to the first you will find that very little of the first book is repeated. The little information that is repeated is essential and serves to refresh the readers' memory more than anything else.
So that is what I needed to tell you about the book. Now I can tell you what I want…… THIS IS A MUST READ.
I really enjoyed the book and found myself rooting for the weirdest characters in the book. Once a book has me rooting for some and wishing others would disappear like an aspiring in water, I know I have a great book. So go, read it, I guarantee that if you like paranormal with a hint of intrigue and dash of action and a fair share of romance, then this is the book for you…..
I give this book a 7 ******* review rating, I will recommend it to my best friend to read, I walked through the house reading it and in between chores I made a point of reading one more page. Until close to the end that is, at which point I started to delay the inevitable, I did not want the book to end.

I should start by saying that when I heard that the author was releasing arcs for this book, I was as bad as the little kid in class who always jumped up and down shouting, "Pick Me! Pick Me!". I loved the first book and have been looking forward to this release for a long time. I was so excited when I got to read it a week early. Whenever I get this excited for a book, I worry that it will not come close to living up to my expectations. Actually, that happens quite often :(. Forever, however, was even better than The Guardian. I LOVED IT!!

Here are some things I loved about it:

*The author did not spend the first quarter of the book reexplaining the first book. She actually took off running into the story arc. I loved she just got to the meat of it.

*I just love the characters in this series. You have people/beings who seem to have real authentic actions and relationships. Even when they are being completely dumb (I have some better descriptors I think I will leave out ;)), you understand why.

* This book has all my favorite creatures. It has witches, vamps, mermaids, fairies, and even a werewolf or two.

* One of the main questions I had from the first book was answered and it was answered in a way that made me happy ;). I was glad I was right.

* I loved that when the mermaids' purpose was revealed, I was shocked. I did not see that coming and it was awesome to be so surprised by a turn of events.

* While there is still story to be told, this book does not end in an "I am so mad at the ending" kind of way. I am really looking forward to seeing how the main story arc continues from here. In someways, it is a whole new ball game.

* This book definitely had the "I can not put it down factor".

I am so glad that this book is as wonderful as it is. I truly hope this means another one is in the works. The author's style and creativity just make my reading heart happy. This book is not technically "YA", but I would have no trouble recommending it to a teen. There is nothing sexual or violent in it that would make me think twice about it. I would recommend you read The Guardian by Gillian Joy before reading Forever.

My book review of
Forever by Gillian Joy

First off I have to say I have been a very bad girl.  I have 4 book reviews to write but I just received the book Forever which is the second book in the Guardian Series.  It keep screaming to me cause I feel in love with Hannah in the first book Guardian.  I started and finished it in an hour tell you how FABULOUS it was.  This story flows right from the ending of Guardian we don't miss anything.  Hannah and Gabriel dance with their feelings once again what is your feelings on them being together.  In my heart they are destined soul-mates Hannah needs to get over what she was led to believe.  Hannah gets caught up in a drama involving the fairies and it somewhat distracts her from others trying to get her attention.  She is afraid of what these Crustas want with her, will it cost her, her life or the lives of others?    Are her children in danger should she tell her secrets?  I can't wait for book three to see the story of Hannah and Gabriel continue.  Definitely 10 stars run and get your copy you will not be disappointed.  Gillian is a very talented storyteller who sucks you into the intimate world that she created and leaves you heartbroken in the end cause it is over.

I give this book 7*******s!!
Forever, what can I say, it can be a long time and the title explains it all in that one little word. It's a perfect title for a perfect story. The journey is not over and I am looking foward to reading about Hannah's next adventure. There are some shockers in this book but you will have to purchase the book and read it to find out for yourself. Thank you Gillian for piecing together some of my questions and writing another awesome book.
This book is chalked full of surprises, suspence, and romance.

Gillan gave me the honor again to read the second book in her Guardian Series. I loved Guardian, but I think I love Forever even more. I'm just in love with all her characters. I also think I could fall into Gabriel's arms forever, hee hee. I can also relate to Hannah's character and her personality of being down to earth. She is so likeable and only wants whats best for everyone.
In this book, we start where we left off right after the Custas meeting. Hannah is back in Australia in the story. Hannah deals with fairies, mermaids, family, and emotions. She finds some answers that are left open in Guardian through a surprising source! We also find out more about the evil vampire Phelip who killed Hannah's mother, Susannah. She, of course, makes some new enemies in this book that are making me wonder if they are going to show up in the next book. I had such a hard time putting this book down and I can not wait for the next book in the series to com out.
Gillain, even though there was some missed spelled words and some words missing from a few sentences, I highly enjoyed this read. Thank you for the opportunity!!

If you thought the 1st book was good this 2nd one is amazing! There's action, adventure, mystery and above all, it's a fantastic love story and I am looking forward to the 3rd book in the series. It was hard for me to put this book down, I read until the early morning and I still did not want to put this book down!

Hannah continues on her journey as guardian, but her life is far from easy. Despite her strong willed determination and her extra “gifts” Hannah is having a hard time keeping up with an entire world full of supernaturals. All she wants is a little time to spend with her family.

When she starts having bad dreams she wonders why the mermaids are giving her trouble they never bothered her before, until now… The dreams get worse as Hannah try’s to ignore them, but then the fairies need her. Between the dreams, the fairies and her relationship issues with Gabriel Hannah feels her life is getting out of control and something needs to be done because she needs time with her family also. This fast paced story that will leave you wanting more! Forever is a great book for everyone who likes delving into the supernatural world.

This is the second book in the Guardian Series. I loved this book as much, if not more, than the first one. It was hard for me to put this book down. I read the first few chapters while I was getting a tattoo and the last three chapters as I was sick in bed. Like I said, hard to put down. It still has the characters we fell in love with in Guardian, plus a few new ones. The book has a great flow and a storyline that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. It will truly leave you wanting the next book NOW! Hannah continues on her "gifted" journey of life. Unfortunately for her, it has continued to be filled with ups and downs, and the never ending "calls" of the supernatural. As if she didn't have enough to deal with, she now is having haunting dreams, dreams that seem to real. What does the future have in store for her? Are the dreams more that just bad dreams? If you loved Guardian, you have to read Forever. I am sure you will be forever in love with the series as much as I am. I highly recommend it for everyone that loves a great read.

Forever is amassing, great, awesome. In Forever Hannah has to deal with the fairies and the mermaids.Forever is so detail that I felt like I was there next to Hannah and wanting to use her powers to warm up the Fairy Queen. I also like the fact that we get to know more about her kids, and her mother's, her life in Australia. I love the fact that in this book a lot of my questions where answered. Also in Hannah learns new things about her pass, present and Future! Like in Guardian, Forever if full of twists and turns. I really love this book I couldn't put it down I just had to know what happened next. There was never a dull moment :). I really recommend this book! I know that I will be reading Guardian and Forever more than ones. Can't wait for the third book, hope I don't have to wait to long. Gillian Joy is a great author.

After reading Guardian, the first book in the trilogy, I just HAD to read Forever. I always go into the second book a little leery because sometimes stories are just better left at one book only. Boy does this book contradict my thoughts! It's hard for me to tell you what I like without spoilers so I'm just going to say that Forever just MIGHT be better than Guardian. Maybe ;)
Feisty Hannah is on yet another round of adventures with more of the supernaturals and oh my goodness! This fast paced story will keep you on your toes! There are so many things that happen that I never saw coming! This page-turner is great for everyone who likes delving into the supernatural world...in a not so conventional way :)

This was a much slower paced book than Guardian. There was not a lot of nail-biting action that keeps you wanting to forego everything else and just read but everything seems to be an integral part of the storyline. The relationships between the characters was more fully developed. I was glad to see the relationship between Hannah and her biological father did not suffer when she found out the truth. Hannah had many of her questions answered when she went with the mermaids and spoke with (no I'm not telling you the spoiler). The answers will hopefully make her life much simpler, at least in the relationship area. This was a good addition to the series and I can't wait for the next one. I'm still waiting to hear about Gabriel's life in the 300 years before he was reunited with Hannah.

Well I don't think you could get anymore into one book if you tried..

Phew I need a nap, lol.

No but seriously what an awesome sequel. It was everything you would want in a book 2, it finished off all the unanswered questions from book 1 and started a whole round of others for book 3.

I still think Hannah is the most frustrating character EVER and it's quite different to read a book where the characters are madly in love but never act on it .

I liked Forever better than Guardian and i can't wait for Revenge

Well Done Gillian on a fantastic addition to this series I thoughly enjoyed every single twist and turn in this book and I'm sure everyone else will too

Oh my gosh, this book had me up until the early morning hours. It was amazing! I had to grab a box of tissues with this one. If you want an amazing read with everything supernatural then this sereis is definitely for you. Vampires, Mermaids, Fairies, Witches, werewolves, it's all in there.

This book picks up where Guardian left off. Hannah is torn apart about her feelings for Gabriel. What is it that needs to be done, should she just walk away and end their friendship? Then there is her duty to the crudelitas, the fairies pester her for help and the mermaids pester her for a swim.

I was so happy with the turn of events in this book and cannot wait to read the next book!

My review of Forever book 2 in the Guardian series, by Gillian Joy published by Smashwords.
I was given this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

Gillian Joy has done it again. The second installment to the Guardian series has more than surpassed my expectations for a sequel. To many times I have been disappointed in the past with a sequel that is just a regurgitation of the previous book with some slight variances. This is definitely not the case. There are more than a handful of times that I was completely knocked off my chair. The surprises are unrelenting and truly appreciated.

Hannah is reborn into a life where it kind of resembles mine. Married with two children, a girl and a boy, and having to juggle the everyday responsibilities of a mother. I feel like Hannah has grown since the last book. She is still very driven, determined and unwavering when it comes to her principles, but in book two she seems less self-centered. Almost every moment she makes she is constantly thinking about her children. The love and sacrifice of a mother illuminates throughout the book, which kept me intrigued to the very end. I love it when a main character morphs into a being that I can directly relate too. Granted, she has a vamp as a best friend who helps her take care of the kids and maintain the household. And there are the occasional visits from the neighborly fairies… other than that I would say it can mirror any mother’s lifestyle.

Gillian does an extraordinary job of taking the reader into the world of the fairies. The world that she creates for us definitely does not resemble Pixie Hollow. There is a dark underworld that we are unexpectedly thrust into and have to witness some cruel and harsh laws of the fairies. This is the first time I have ever experienced a dark menacing existence of fairies and I am truly grateful for Gillian to give me something else to obsess over other than vampires and werewolves. There are several things that manifest throughout the book that are added to Hannah’s lists of responsibilities. I am left with the chore of trying to identify who is now a friend or a foe. There are a plethora of scenarios that are swimming in my head. As if I needed another carrot to dangle in front of me while I wait for book 3.

Hannah’s true love, Gabriel is still in the picture… does she continue to push him away? Or does she give into her desires and ignores the” laws “of the Angels? Please read this book to find out. The journey is definitely worth it! Now I am stuck wondering if there is going to be a book three and if so, how quickly can I get it on my Kindle. Another series added to my list of obsessions and I have only Gillian to thank. Love love love this book. Keep writing Gillian!!!

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.

I honestly would give this book more than 5 stars, because it truly deserves it as far as the story line goes. The only problem I had with it was at times there were miss spelled words, and grammar mistakes.
Amazing, I loved book 1 Guardian and then I started Forever and I was just like wow. Neither one of these books disappointed me. In Forever questions were answered, and surprises were revealed. I caught myself going WHAT no way how did I not put two and two together. The story flows perfectly from the Guardian and it does not miss a beat. Gillian Joy I do hope you write a third book because I truly enjoyed reading your books. The stories are amazing, everything flows together, the characters are likable. This is one fan that is truly wanting more of Hannah, Gabriel, Jesse even though he seems a bit cocky at times, Sam, Bernard and the whole rest of the gang. I want to know what happens in the future, and what happens between Hannah and Gabriel. This is another book that I highly recommend and 5 stars does not do it justice.

http://fallenoverbookreviews.blogspot...

So I reviewed this book back in 2012 as well as the first book but my review is no longer on Amazon but it is on Goodreads. I decided to re-read this book to see if it was just as good as when I wrote my review it totally was.
As I started the book I couldn't remember much with this book so for me it was kind of like reading the book for the first time. I can honestly say this book was just amazing. The story line is freaking awesome, the characters are still very well developed and mysterious.

Hannah always tries to keep her family life away from her supernatural life but that kind of takes a turn for the worst when the fairies need her help and her children start learning who they are. It seems that they may have the gift/curse that Hannah has or they may just have been told what the supernatural creatures are, you just have to read that for yourself.
In this story we not only get the fairies but the mermaids as well which is pretty neat and Hannah will finally get the answers to her questions that she has always had running through her head. Surprises will be revealed and make you want to find out more about what goes on in this world of Hannah and her crudelitas.
I highly recommend this book as I am sure those who like the supernatural, clean romance, and action will enjoy this.

The Review
I was given this by the author in exchange for an honest review, the main point being, could you read this without reading Book 1, Guardian, first. Well my answer is a resounding Yes, I loved this book, You could quite easily read this on it’s own, I have not yet read Guardian, but I will do, I just need to read a lot of other books to try and forget the characters in this book, but then that won’t be easy, None of them were very forgetful, I think anyone could read this and not worry about not knowing who is who, as it is explained as you go along in the book, the characters were well formed and laid out, which made this a great book, I loved the plot line, the way Hannah always tried to get on with life, even with all the issues she constantly had to put up with from supernaturals, I won’t say too much about this book on the off chance you want to read book 1 first, as I am sure and I can only assume this of course that a lot of the characters will be the same, as they seem to have a great rapport between them, Thankyou To Gillian Joy for giving me the idea to read the second book first, I may have to do this with a few other series I have my eye on, 5/5

I really loved Guardian by Gillian Joy, so when I found out that its next part, Forever, had been released, I was beyond ecstatic! It got bumped up on my reading list because it was just screaming at me!

We catch up with Hannah in Australia. She's figuring out the whole single parent thing without the help of Sam, who had been her help since her husband died. Sam had decided to go join the vampire custos with Jesse.

Hannah was approached by the fairy prince, who had fallen in love with a human. Fairy-human relationships are against fairy law and his mother was extremely upset about it. Hannah decides to try to help him work the situation out. It was a complicated and heart-wrenching situation for her and everyone involved.

She also has to figure out why the mermaids keep trying to get her to go swimming with them. The idea terrified her, especially with the nightmares she'd been having that always ended in her drowning. She eventually caves, and goes with them to find a most surprising visitor!

I loved the overall story. Like Guardian, it was fantastic and pulled me right in. The characters were colorful and the places we got to see were described so beautifully that I almost felt like I was there.

I found Hannah a bit more annoying than usual, though. For the most part, she was stubborn to the point of obnoxiousness, and I really wanted to reach through the pages and smack her around a bit. I'm not entirely sure it was a bad thing, though, seeing as how just about every other character in the book wanted to do the same. So if that was the goal ... Mission: Accomplished.

We did get to see a pieces of where she wants to go with the situation of the vampire who killed her mother, but it was mainly a few conversations here and there. This is the situation I really am intrigued to watch the resolution. This situation alone is enough to keep me on pins and needles for the next book!

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This was such a great story from the very first pages. The characters we met in the first book continued to grow and come alive so much more in this book. With the continued battle of trying to balance motherhood with a love life, and a career not only as an editor but as the venatorcustos, Hannah becomes so real and truthfully I was tired from all she did - right along with her! We are taken deeper into the underworld as we are introduced into the fairy realm as well as get a fleeting glimpse or two of mermaids. Anyone who read the Guardian will find they have to read this one too and then you will still want more!

Hannah continues with trying to protect her children at all cost from any of the Crudelitas from finding out they exist while facing mortality from a sick mother as well as herself. With the time ticking against her, Hannah must try to overcome her fears and put all else on hold while performing the duties of the Guardian. But the Fairies and a few mermaids are relentless for her attention as they constantly invade not only her home, her mindspeak but also her dreams. With good friends standing by to help, this story shows how one person sometimes can't do it all and that even a super woman can need help. Of course romances are building and in a twist in the end the Author gives all of us fans something to smile about while we wait to see what happens next!

A must read for Paranormal romance fans who need a bit of adventure and some time spent downunder.

Book Review 6 out of 5

Hannah is the Venatorcustos, Guardian of all supernatural beings. She has been reborn and is living in Australia with her family. Being Guardian of the supernatural is hard enough, but trying to raise her family in peace is harder still. The Mermaids and Fairies are requesting her help. Can Hannah help them, and sort out her personal problems before she loses the one man she loves forever?

This is the second book in the Guardian series by Gillian Joy.
Hannah has been reborn and is living in Australia with her small family. She is still a strong character, who loves Gabriel, but because she is the Guardian and he is a vampire, can they ever be together?. Now a mother herself, she is terrified of exposing her children to the supernatural world too soon.
I love how Gillian has brought a new dimension to the story with the addition of the Mermaids and Fairies. These are great characters. However, I love Foster's character; he reminds me of a naughty boy getting caught with his hands in the cookie jar! His sister seems to be more grounded, which comes in handy as she's to be the next Fairy Queen. The Fairy Queen is quite scary! I wouldn't want to cross her! Gillian uses her imagination to great effect in this book, and I particularly enjoyed her description of the cave. It was beautifully written.
This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend you read this book, as it has a lot going for it; There's action, adventure, mystery and above all, it's a fantastic love story. I'm now looking forward to reading anything written by this author.

Forever
By: Author Gillian Joy

A Brilliant and Explosive part 2 in the series!!!

It was 6am in the morning when I finished “Author Gillian Joy’s” first novel in this series “Guardian”. I was so completely captured within this story that I couldn’t even wait to start reading the next book “Forever” in this series. So I purchased and downloaded the 2nd book in this series right then and there and read the very first chapter. I was not disappointed one bit. “Author Gillian Joy’s” brilliant way of storytelling flowed right into book #2. I was totally immersed to the point that I didn’t want to put it down. Let’s just say, going about my day and responsibilities was very hard. Every chance I got I was sneaking a read through a few more chapters. Within 48hrs of purchasing this book I was done reading it. I can’t wait for book 3 “Revenge” of this series!!! It isn’t available yet or believe me I would have purchased and downloaded it just as fast and might have been finished reading it as well.

An Amazing array of vision, creative storytelling and kick ass drama and fantasy!!! An Absolute 5 Stars!!!! {WaAr}

I was given this book in return for an honest review. Venatorcustos Hannah, is the guardian of all things supernatural. She is havering a very rough time though. She left and was reborn in the first book because she needed a break. Now she has a family and children to protect and she strives for normalicy. She still loves vampire Gabriel but where does he fit in her new life, she is torn and its so complicated for her. Sam and Bernard are back as well as Gabriel and I must admit, I missed them. On top of the normal supes she has dealt with, now mermaids and fairies are making appearances as well as requests. She will make new enemies and deal with vamps, weres , witches, fae, and the mermaids. This book is packed with romance and action. You feel so bad for Hannah because everything is so hard for her, she can't seem to just be happy, everything she does must be weighed in her mind because of the consequences. I for one will be waiting, with bated breath, for the next instalment in this series. WaAr

“Forever” by Gillian Joy, Book #2 in the Guardian series, is the first in the series that I have read. It follows Hanna, a guardian of the supernatural in the human world. Like all humans she has her mundane problems such as child care and dating. As supernatural she has to help, guide and protect other species on the planet and try to keep the peace between them: Vampires, Fairies, Werewolves, witches and angels, to name but a few.
I thought the book was wonderfully imaginative and lively, the idea of a single mother - as it were - having to protect her own family and receive telepathic requests for assistance in many ways was a great beginning point and the many trials and challenges Hanna meets in this book were certainly entertaining and refreshing. As a casual visitor to the genre I find it difficult to judge the book in comparison to its peers but to me it was a pleasant way to dive into a different world.

Have to confess I expected a nice read after the first part, but this was even better than I expected. As it was the second part, there were some repetitions of the first part (I understand the need if someone would pick up the second part first and would feel lost otherwise) and lots of things got clearer in here.
The relations between the people get more explained, you get to know some more background, and most important of all, some misunderstandings get cleared away (even if that only happens all the way at the end).
You feel for the characters, felt really sorry for Gabriel at some point, almost hated Hannah at other moments, but that's all part of a great book.

So if you want to have a great read, pick up this book (but do make sure you read the first one (Gardian) before this one as it makes it easier anyway) and just forget everything around you!

ps. I received this book for free from the author, but this has in no way influenced the outcome of this review!

I just finished this book and, like the first one, I thought it was truly amazing. The author has a fantastic way with words and really knows how to draw the attention of a reader. The story line was so touching and beautiful and the ending was unexpected but awesome!! I hope that the author will write a third book to this series and if not I look forward to reading her other stuff. I am so glad I got the chance to know the author and to read her books because they were such a fantastic read. I am still thinking about it and I know I will continue to think about these books in the future... with such an awesome story line how can you not. PLEASE WRITE MORE GILLIAN!! :)and thank you again for these amazing books... I loved every page
