Non- fiction. Surviving Tracy, featuring true stories from survivors of Cyclone Tracy which devastated Darwin in the Northern Territory in 1974.
-This is a very short book. It a book that requires an open mind. It talks about beliefs in God, Angels, spirits, etc. It is done by sharing people stories. Again, an open mind is required.
-I am mad at God. However, I still belief in Him and Holy Mother. I do not feel this book is trying to force anything. It a book to make you reflect. I read this book for I am seeking answers on why in reference to grief. I am looking everywhere for answers.
Lately, I have been interested in reading books on near death experiences. I have always been fascinated by stories told by people who have come close to death and are willing to share what they had seen. When I Believe came up as a free read on Amazon, I decided to give it a try. It is a short read featuring many different experiences by numerous people. While I though I would enjoy hearing their stories, the editing was really horrible in this book. It made it difficult to follow along with each tale when I had to keep overlooking the misspelled words and format issues. Usually, I overlook this type of thing, but it was pretty bad in this case.
Still, while some of the experiences were fascinating, others fell short of what I was hoping. Some of the stories came off as being a made up version just to put it in the book. This was just not one of my favorites in my journey to find near death experience story telling.
This was a very good read -- Patti has a very engaging style and I just wanted to keep reading. One story about a grandmother dying really touched me because I had almost exactly the same experience when my mother died. I was on my way to the hospital when my brother told me she was about to pass. I didn't make it in time but on the way I felt a warmth, a soft light, and a voice-feeling that came over me and said "it's OK." This let me know that the rest of her stories were probably genuine as well.
I found the book to be very compelling and thought provoking. To answer the Author's questions:: Is there a Heaven? I strongly believe there is. Have you ever experienced anything unexplainable? Yes very much so, years after my mother's passing and within hours and days after my husband was killed. Did you know when something bad was about to happen...? Yes, 2 dreams 2 weeks before my husband was killed. Have you ever met someone and taken a great liking or disliking to them straight away.... Like you have known them before? Real People – Real Stories. Yes!!
It's a five star read. If I didn't already believe in God and the afterlife I would after reading this book. It is full of angel sightings, near death experiences, and the spirits of relatives who have passed away and come back for a visit. Amazing!!
The formatting on this book made some of the stories run together, but besides that, the stories were interesting. They weren't great, but they were thought provoking and enjoyable to read.
I love reading books like this. I am a firm believer that there is way more to life than just the life we live now. I find it affirming and believable to read the accounts of others who have had NDE and have experienced things they just cannot explain - other than ascribe them to guardian angels or angels. I find accounts of heaven constantly persistently exactly the same - over hundreds of years. Odd isn’t it? I personally have no fear of death or dying, it’s just another adventure. I just hope I am equipped and up to it.
The only aspect I enjoyed about this book is seeing how the west ( America to be precise) or some Americans perceive and interact with angels, ghosts and spirits ( different naming but to each culture its name) which I find almost close to how we see it. other than only a few stories caught my attention and probably they will remain in my memory for a long time.
Inspirational stories that help us cope with the challenges of daily life. I recommend this book for believers and non believers, as it feeds the souls of the faithful and offers water to those who thirst in the desert. God bless you.
I have always believed that there are more dimensions to this world. We are protected by God's grace and his angels, and many of the stories attested to that.
The book is good for a quick read. It's a reminder that God is still in control even when we are unaware. It wasn't exactly what I expected but was enjoyable.
I had expected this book to be more about near-death experiences and similar stories, but it was just a short and simple collection of inspiring stories shared by different people. It was an OK book, but it wasn't the page-turner I was hoping for. It didn't really capture my attention. It was a rather short book that left me unsatisfied and wanting more. I suppose this book would be good for those in nursing homes or who are incarcerated.
This is great, quick read of stories of hope, inspiration, and the afterlife. I read it in less than an hour. It was do intriguing and inspirational that I did not want to put it down. I just wish there had been more stories. Well worth reading.
