I liked this book. The stories of the 3 women kept me interested although sometimes I got them confused. I wasn't sold on their friendship with each other though. It didn't seem like they were that close because of all the cattiness they kept going with each other even when they had serious issues. Or maybe they're friends but just don't like each other, idk how that works. I would've liked to see their bond more intact and not fake-forced. Overall it was ok.
This is the first time I've read an Angela Winters book. I enjoyed it. It started off a little slow but, was easy to get into once things got rolling. The story of three best friends and their dramas, it was at times a little over the top. But, I look forward to reading the prequel and hoping there is another.
It was a good book. I didn't care for the ending. Not sure if there's another to follow, but there were a lot of open endings that needs more closure ( to me). Did justin and sherise get back together, Did Tara ever come back. Did Erica and her father make it and did her brother Nate give up drugs.
I wanted more action & drama at a faster pace. There were a couple of story lines left untied - What was the story behind Ricky? Who did Jennifer cheat with? Would Billie lose her job? Is Tara having sex? You get my point...one thing was certainly clear Almost Doesn't Count.
The back and forth of all the drama made my head spin...but this was a better read than Back on Top by Winters, which also features Sherise, Erica and Billie.
