Between
As the alkins head back to Crossroads, Claudia leads her normal life; but not for long. Having a special soul, Claudia attracts danger, and she soon finds out who Gamma asked to watch over her. If you found yourself not getting enough of constantly thinking about Crossroads, then hold on to your seats cause for sure, this book will get you high!
Two thumbs up for Mary Ting for a job well-done for having this book creatively written. The plot is good, and the story line itself would make you want read the book during the wee hours of the night wishing that the novel wouldn’t somehow end. The second book had presented more intensity in the gravity of situation-- the dilemma of keeping our girl protagonist Claudia away from the dark forces, especially now that there are two tribes of Angels bickering and always following her heels just to assure her safety.
The settings the author had described have been persistently breath-taking that even just reading about it could make you think you’ve drifted in it too.
The identities of the characters we all loved from the first novel were even more defined, and the other additions to the bunch have also played a sense of importance in their involvement to the fast-paced events. They are one of the reasons why you would fall in love with this book. The deepness of the connection of the characters to each other could make you feel lots of emotions—like loss, friendship, and love.
Of course the romantic scenes had also rocketed sky-high! The moments between Michael and Claudia are getting a lot sexier, plus a mysterious character that had puzzled our minds in the first novel is now extremely hot on his wings for Claudia. The mockeries between Michael and the other guy could surely make the readers laugh and even make their bets!
I must admit that the latter happenings had shattered my heart into pieces. The book has this effect of getting its readers hooked up with it and it’s just superb!
Between is a very enchanting read that would surely get your head stuck in the clouds!

Mary Ting's story telling abilities immediately wraps around you like a blanket and carries you safely through this world of magic and mystery while giving you the most romantic ride of your life. The love between Michael and Claudia is challenged not only by a couple of new characters that are brought into play but by a past that Michael must now explain. The love story is beautiful and the characters are all well defined. I caught myself giggling out loud at some of the comments and saying Oh no, when I was reading in bed at 1 am. The coolest thing happened as I read through Between, I was so caught up in the story that I began to cry when Gamma had a conversation with Claudia. In fact, I bawled like a baby so much that it woke up my fiance and made him ask me if I was ok. There are few writers out there that are able to surprise me and make me go through such a wide variety of emotions. For that I thank you Mary for writing your story. It touched my heart on many levels and became a wonderful world to sink into.

I was pretty pumped getting to read this novel, especially because it came to me in all its beautiful glory as a paperback. Yet this novel also meant the great potential I saw for the series in the first book was also continued here. And I must say it was pretty darn exciting revisiting this old world!
I loved the emotions that literally PERMEATED the novel! It was full of love and passion, but also heaps and heaps and HEAPS of longing. This time I could emotionally connect to our main protagonist and experience this beautiful world alongside her. It really made the story so much more potent as it was an obstacle the author had to overcome in the first novel, 'Crossroads'.
An old character from 'Crossroads' came back in this sequel, and he was not what he seemed. I was pretty surprised and intrigued by the new revelation a few chapters into the novel but also gleefully clapping my hands together for one specific reason. He wanted our dear Claudia Emerson, too! And when I mean wants I mean WANTS! Austin – that’s his name – and Michael were now fighting for her love in this novel and I can't say that I exactly want her to be with Michael. At the beginning of the novel I was SERIOUSLY on the edge of my seat, wondering what the author was going to do.
Character development in this novel was done spectacularly well. I no longer felt as if some characters were a bit weak in their development or personality. Each was a strong and unique individual that played a great part in the story. I loved some characters for their sense of humour and their loyalty in times of hardships. I was unable to truly loathe the villains, however. It seemed to me that the author loved all her characters so much that it came through in her writing. Characters also evolved over time. It was AWESOME because now they ALL felt vital and tangible despite the fact that some were only minor.
'Between' had word-building that really was outstanding. The development and establishment of the world Mary Ting introduced was extraordinarily well continued in this sequel! I learned HEAPS more about the angels and demons that inhabited the Earth, and some important new twists were added that I can't WAIT to read more about in the third novel 'Beyond'.
Plot progression and storyline also showed significant improvement compared to the first in the series, 'Crossroads'. There was just something different about the way the author told her story: like she now had a more concrete idea of where it was going. She skilfully manipulated her characters to create a very gripping plot that made you keep turning the pages, without you knowing it. There was a steady pace to the novel that I thoroughly enjoyed yet at times felt as if it could speed up a little. Battle scenes in my opinion were an area of weakness. I couldn't seem to get into them and feel the adrenaline. They ended all too soon and were over before I had realised they began. I would strongly recommend that the author infuse her writing with more drama during those scenes as it would really help pick up the pace.
The novel's finale was just too good! I loved it and how it rounded everything up so well. There wasn't a cliff-hanger per say, but we are left with a HUGE one emotionally. If you've already read this novel, you'll understand what I mean! I strongly encourage other readers to read this novel! If only JUST for the ending!
The novel was written in first person past tense once again. I found that slightly disappointing as I have learned from experience that first person narration is not the most reliable view when reading a story. I have also found that reading from Claudia Emerson's point of view made it even more so.
Grammar showed itself to be done well, and there were no spelling mistakes that I could spot. I noticed a couple of typos but overall, it was a well formatted novel as a self-pub. Unfortunately, for me there just wasn't that something that would have pushed me towards giving this novel a five star. This was a solid four star and I can't wait to see more from the series!
Congratulations to Mary Tings on publishing a spectacular sequel! I can’t wait for ‘Beyond’!

At times you feel like you might fall but then your back up in the clouds feeling Heavenly again. This sophomore novel delivers everything that makes a book Great: Romance: check, Action: check and even heartache: check plus I can't forget to mention about those swoon-worthy Angels! Between will leave you on a celestial high!"

Claudia has attracted quite a few followers who want her. Demons are on the hunt for Claudia and they are stopping at nothing to find her. Several Claudia Emerson are disappearing, they have yet to truly find the true Claudia though. Once again Claudia dives head first into the world of Angels and their ongoing battles. She learns of new secrets and Venators. Michael and Claudia will come to a seriously big bump in the road that will just just take your breath away when you read it. OK I could go on and on describing parts of the book, but I just can't I feel that it will spoil this book plus some of the 1st in the series for those who haven't read it. I don't think my opinion has steered anyone wrong yet.
This is a love story you don't want to not be reading! Between will teach us what it truly means to love one selflessly. I (Yara) can not wait for the third book in the series. If you like a intense plot line with a pure love story, then look no further!

However long will be too long. That’s what Michael tells Claudia every time he has to leave. It definitely picks up where Crossroads left off. I smiled thru this book, laughed because Devin is just the funniest, cutest Alkin, and cried like a baby towards the end. Claudia has now met a Venator named Austin who is a demon killer. He has been assigned by Claudia’s Gramma as her protector on earth since she has passed on. Michael is not happy about this because he is her guardian angel and feels jealousy over the fact that Austin may not be the one to be around Claudia because he doesn’t trust him. Claudia finds herself at times drawing closer to Austin but telling herself it isn’t right and wants only to be friends with him, although Austin would like more than a friendship. Claudia starts discovering powers she didn’t know she had and has the opportunity to use them. Where ever Claudia is, demons will follow because of how special she is and this book proves to be so worthwhile, I wanted more. I’m not going to be the spoiler so don’t expect it from me, but know you won’t be able to put the book down as I read it in one day. Mary Ting went beyond the call of writing a best seller on this one. She never ceases to amaze me. There has to be a 3rd book and I can’t wait for it. Wonderful story.

Mary Ting has done it again! She has written a beautifully romantic and suspenseful tale of forbidden love. Micheal and Claudia's passion in Between will leave you breathless and wanting more.
Seriously Between blew me away! If you thought Crossroads was a roller coaster of emotions just wait until you read Between. The romance, lust, betrayal, action and heartache that I loved in Crossroads just got bigger and better in Between.
Mary Ting has really stepped up her writing as well, I felt like everything flowed better and the dialogue felt more real. I loved that there were more details in Between as they really helped me as a reader experience the world and lives of the angels. As dreamy as Micheal is I found myself liking Austin more and more. I love how into Claudia Micheal is, but sometimes it feels a little over the top and Austin just seems a bit more real to me. The supporting characters really shine and I can't wait to find out where Ting will take us in the next book. If you loved or even just liked Crossroads you are going to go crazy over Between!

Between introduces you to new characters, new creatures and new dangers. Everything you learned about Claudia, Crossroads, and the World Mary Ting created gets tossed in the air. Love is in question. Trust is debatable. No one is safe. It is an enchanting nail-biter that will leave you breathless from the exquisite cover to the thrilling end.

Mary Ting has done it again!! I loved Crossroads but I think Between was even better...I laughed and cried and it left me wanting more and that is the hallmark of a great book and author. I loved the storyline and the crossover with the vampires and cannot wait to see how everything between Michael and Claudia plays out. Great job Mary!!!!!!

A heart pounding sequel to Crossroads, Between is as perplexing, intense and endearing as the first. Where love is the reason for everything; readers are bound to get sucked into the supernatural world that Mary has created.
Most people know that "angel" books are the last books I'd even choose to pick up- honestly they just never interested me and I always felt as though even if majority of the people loved the book, I didn't. So I chose not to read about angels. But when I read the summary for Crossroads last year I knew that I had to give this book a chance (so so glad I did!!)!! The summary left me wanting to know more... and well, so did the ending of the book. So for the sequel of Crossroads comes Between. And I can assure you that readers (who love Angel books or even those who aren't fond of them...) will love Between!!
Claudia, the main character is not your average teen. She looks, and acts, and thinks like a normal teen except for the fact that she A. hangs out with angels (alkins) and B. she is a daughter of one of The Twelve. I enjoy reading about Claudia in real situations, because it shows that she is still a human... and readers are able to relate to her character. Claudia's personality doesn't change when she is with the Alkins, but I notice that she becomes more brave. I like that about her. She's able to step out of her comfort zone- test her elements and discover news things about herself.
Claudia and Michael are seriously the cutest couple EVER! whether its "legal" or not for an Alkin to fall in love with a human, I would root for their relationship to last a lifetime.
The author, Mary Ting takes a reader on another journey where loyalty, love, and inner strength are the basis to conquering all. There were certain parts in Between where I wasn't sure if the story would end how I wanted it to. I found myself taking sides and then BAM! something happened and I'd change my mind. lol. The roller-coaster of good and evil shines through in Between, and I really liked this about the book. Never once did I think the book slowed down... rather the anticipation to find out more sped up.
If you think Between sounds like a great read, make sure you read Crossroads first!! I promise you will fly (literally!) through them both ;-)

I actually enjoyed this book a lot more than the first! Claudia spends a lot of time with Austin and I love him! All my suspicions about him from the first book were true. We find out his secrets and I won't spoil things but he is a good guy and helps Claudia. I found him hilarious and very charming. Michael is sweet but I just feel like Austin has a more fun and outgoing personality. I really enjoy his scenes. There were still plenty of Michael scenes where he showered Claudia with love and gifts. I also continued to really love Davin. He is trying to learn earthly ways and slang. He spends a lot of time googling which cracks me up but really you can learn everything from google!
The action was more exciting in this one. A demon stuck in the Between is gathering forces to send after Claudia and finally Claudia learns how to defend herself. In the first book she was always hiding in the corner when the danger came but this time she is facing it. The fight scenes were more intense and involved. There were some hostage situations that really had me on the edge. I also liked the extra background into the alkins and how there are different ones on earth. There is a group of venators and they hunt demons. We delve deeper into the 12 original angels and their offspring. The ending was surprising and a bit sad. There are some big obstacles for Claudia and Michael and I'm not sure how they will work through them. Definitely left me extremely curious for the next book.

As much as I enjoyed the first book in the Crossroads saga, I enjoyed this second book even more! It was such a treat meeting up for a second time with my favorite characters from the previous book.
Again, the author didn’t disappoint. Aside from the eye-catching cover and the finer little details on the inside of the book, the reader can also look forward to the continued, heart-achingly sweet romance between Claudia and Michael, unforeseen plot twists, action-packed battle scenes, a host of new characters, and an ending that will leave you breathless and begging the author to hurry up with the next book in this saga. And that is only the proverbial tip of the iceberg.
An exquisitely crafted novel with beautiful settings, romantic tension and memorable characters with personal struggles, that crawls deep into your heart, “Between” is an extraordinary read that will have the reader reluctant to let go before getting to the very last page. Well done Mary Ting, for writing yet another book that I will be highly recommending to others, and which I simply couldn’t put down!

Found on facebook via a 'Twilight' fan page, I decided to give this book a read on my Kindle. Boy am I glad I did! Luckily upon finishing, book 2 of this saga 'Between' became available. Young adult / fantasy genre is something I 'dabble' in and have been pleasantly surprised how each story takes me away. Do you believe in Angels? How about Angels here on Earth? I loved how Mary Ting took a girl from our modern world, and referred to the stories of the Bible (without being a 'religious' book) to provide history of the angels and bring them to modern time. The story is of a secret purpose, or one girl's fate, and the relationships she makes with her guardians as she realizes who she is, what power she holds & why. Forbidden love mimics that of the Twilight saga without feeling like a copycat. There's a triangle, a little innocent romance, and sacrifice. Looking forward to sharing this book with a girlfriend, and my daughter.

Between is the 2nd book in the Crossroads Saga. This fallen angel story captures your attention from the beginning to end, with romance, mystery, betrayal, and battles that will keep you glued to the book. Emotions run wild, and I seriously cried like a baby at certain moments of that book. That makes Mary an incredible author in her story telling.
Claudia learns more about herself and the Fallen angels, she is distraught by keeping secrets from her best friend Patty, and Michael constantly reminds her of his faithful love.
There's so much in this story, man, you just have to read it if you are a Crossroads and Fallen Angel fan.
I love the world that Mary has created, the mannerisms of the charactors, the descriptive story that makes me feel like I'm being drawn into that world.
Claudia learns more about herself and the Fallen angels, she is distraught by keeping secrets from her best friend Patty, and Michael constantly reminds her of his faithful love.
There's so much in this story, man, you just have to read it if you are a Crossroads and Fallen Angel fan.

In a battle of good versus evil, where even the good angels may be tempted by love and power, Mary Ting has done it again! Her newest release, Between, from her Crossroads Saga is fresh, unlike many other angel stories I've ever read. I was drawn in by the beautiful love story between a Claudia and her guardian angel, Michael, in her first book, and the chemistry continued to build between them in this one. This is a powerful, moving story. The mystery of Claudia, who is hunted by dark powers, powers who continue to kill every young woman who carries her name, kept me turning the pages to find out what would happen next. I couldn't put it down! If you love romantic paranormal fantasy, you don't want to miss this one! Between is a must read, and I gave it 5 stars!

This is even better than Crossroads. Mary really knows how to develop her characters. I was really surprised I enjoyed this so much. There have been so many books in this genre, I thought I would feel like "been there, done that" but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You will laugh and cry. Usually in these YA novels, the girls in this story are wussy or are so "poor me" and homely and life is just going along with nothing special. Then comes this amazing guy who is so perfect. I liked that Claudia wasn't that wuss and that the amazing guy(s) showed some weakness and vulnerability. The characters were funny too. Can't wait for the 3rd installment. Get to writing Ms. Ting. So good. Just read the book already!!!

I love reading this book, as i enjoyed reading crossroads, I find the second book better. The story is intense and exhilarating, Ms Ting did an amazing job to this one (between) introducing new characters and creatures, the twist and turn of the story is awesome, just didn't see the last part coming, so theres a third book!?cant wait ;D

This series was getting better and better. Mary Ting never seemed to run out of ideas to make her story enjoyable. This time though, she included Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve, and the Grigori which was fascinating. My question to who's Claudia mysterious protector and whether she would have a special power finally answered in this book. It was heartbreaking what Michael was forced to do, and I hoped I'll get the answer in the next book about the possibility of Claudia remembering Michael as well as if Austin would make a move knowing that Claudia's within his reach.

My review:
Between by Mary Ting is a second book in The Crossroads Saga and it starts out where Crossroads ends. I was delighted by Crossroads and was very happy that I could continue reading Between right after finishing Crossroads. It’s always interesting to see, how the author is developing the story and if the author is capable of living up to the expectations. My expectations were very high because I really loved Crossroads.
Mary Ting met my expectations and I would even say that with Between she exceeded my expectations. Between was not only a very good book, it was also very emotional reading for me. Between is a book about friendship, love, betrayal, making difficult choices – things what most of the people have experienced. Mary gave all these words an uplifted and emotional meaning. I laughed, I cried - I felt everything what she wrote with raw emotions and that means in my book that Between was written with the author’s heart and soul. It was written with feelings.
Regarding the plot:
After the fallen and evil was destroyed in the first book, Claudia starts to explore her powers and is frustrated about feeling so week amongst her friends from the Crossroads. Her friends from Crossroads are coming to visit her again and she sees Michael again.
After Patty’s birthday, something unexpected happens and Claudia is kidnapped by Austin. She is surprised to find out who Austin really is and what his connection to Gamma is. She finds herself on the Island of Eden, where Austin lives together with other venators – demon killers. Austin is following the orders of Divine Elders and is appointed to be Claudia’s guardian angel instead of Michael.
The Royal Council has decided that they will use Claudia as bait to get to Aliah – one the first angels who is fallen and needs Claudia’s soul to regain his powers. Aliah is old, strong and very dangerous.
The relationship between Michael and Claudia is getting more complicated when Austin shows his interest in Claudia and a woman in Michael’s part is brought into the Austin’s team. Michael and Claudia need to learn how to trust each other.
I have to say, that the plot was brilliant. The ending of the book was very emotional for me to read. It was unfair, sad, and I felt heartbroken. I wanted to change it, I wanted to scream! At the same time the author built up tension for the next book, and left a lot of hope to the readers and that made the ending of the book bearable for me. The author knew exactly what she was doing and that’s the pure beauty of it. There were lots of loose ends and questions which remained unanswered. I am sure, that the answers will come in the sequel.
Regarding the characters:
I was little frustrated about Claudia in this book. I truly like her character, but I was annoyed that she had a weakness for Austin. Besides that I wanted her to stand up for the Royal Council and put them to their place. I hope that she will eventually have the strength and powers to do that.
Michael was put into unbearable situation. I felt for him when he had to make a decision about Claudia. I do understand why he did that, but I wished that he would stand up for their love and their rights. I think that in the sequel he will do that when the time is right, he just has to.
I was devastated by the fact, that alkins couldn’t do anything to change the decision of The Royal Council. The only one of them, who expressed his thoughts and anger, was Davin. Davin is truly my hero in this book! I really enjoyed all the scenes with the alkins: Michael, Davin, Vivian and Caleb, but Davin was the only one who firstly spoke up about the unfairness of the situation and secondly supported Michael on his most difficult moments and what is even more important - gave him hope! I would love to have a friend like Davin. He is my favorite character in Between.

Easy to read, you're finishing before you know it
A good continuation of the series, going right into book 3 because I am enjoying how the series is progressing and reading the adventures of Claudia, Michael, Austin and all the rest.

MY REVIEW
WOW I did not expect to say this but this second book of the series is even better than the first!
It is so well written! The relationships with Claudia and the Alkins are becoming even closer, the love between her and Michael is plain to see and beautifully depicted throughout the novel. Claudia is also feeling a strange confused sort of attraction to Austin. I love the Alkins trying to learn the "human" speech and dress sense etc. Davin is as humorous as ever and Caleb is coming to the fore and speaking more within this book than he did in bk1.
This book has humour, suspense, fights,death, joy, sadness, sacrifice and heartbreak
In this book Claudia has to learn to let go of her grief over the death of Gamma and learn to use her "secret" power. Claudia hates the way that other Claudia Emerson's are being killed as they are being mistaken for her. Claudia also realises she will probably end up facing this demon called Aliah before the fight is over. Though as ever she feels safe that she has the Alkins to protect her.
Davin and Michael try do "normal-human" things in this second book more too, like the Valentines School Dance with Claudia and her friend.
Michael also faces a heartbreakingly no win situation, an extremely difficult thing he is ordered to do as part of his duty concerning Claudia. We find out there is a spy within the angels.......not necessarily the one you will immediately jump to the conclusion of it being either.....
I didn't want this book to end... I loved it and was reading it through blurred vision at the part when Michael has to make his heartbreaking choice, that really he doesn't have an actual choice as he is ordered to do it. The book ended by setting the scene, for the next book. Michael has a new mission, as does Davin, and Claudia is also on the brink of starting a new different sector of her life too.
I love all the characters in this series of books, how they interact with each other and all love Claudia in their own ways. All the characters have their own little quirks and personalities and of course their own destinies too.
I have to add that I think the cover goes brilliantly with the book, depicting Claudia and Michael and their deepening relationship on it.
So did I enjoy it? Loved It! Would I recommend it? YES!
Can't wait for Book three in this series!

Claudia is trying to get life back back on track and trying to lead a normal life. However, being a very special soul things don't go to plan. She soon finds herself in danger and is "kidnapped" by the Earth Angels to keep her safe from Aliah who wants her soul! But only Claudia can defeat the evil Aliah. Will she be strong enough to defeat Aliah?
After reading Crossroads and being so excited for the next book. When I got a chance to review it early I was like HELL YEAH!! and it doesn't disappoint.
Between is one of those books that sucks you in. It truely captures your imagination from start to finish. And its the chemistry between all the characters that I feel does this. Claudia, I love. I am mean seriously she is adorable. When faced with dangers she is like "bring it on" even though she is terrified! Her relationship with Michael will make you melt. Michael, oh dear, Michael. It's forbidden for them to be together but he would do just about anything for Claudia. Their romance is quite lovey dovey but not in a omg this is too much kinda way. It's perfect! And then Mary throws another guy into the mix to spice things up and Yeah, I feel, big. Austin. He is smitten with Claudia and they share this weird connection. They care for each other but they annoy each other as well. It's so cute! And of course my fave Davin is back!! And he is better than ever! He is so funny and sweet and I want a Davin.
With Crossroads I found it a little slow to start but Between is fast paced from the start. Introducing you to new characters and dangers start away it get your attention completely. There is never dull moment for the gang. Whether it's spending time in cosy situations or being put in danger and fighting for their lifes. It's nothing sort of amazing!
So overall, did I like it?OMG, Yes, What a ride!!! I adored Crossroads but Between oh lord! It blew it right out the park!! It's bigger and better. Full of danger, excitment, passion, betrayal and above all love! If you haven't started on this series yet, please, I beg you go now because Mary Ting is such a wonderful author who leaves you breathless with each book and begging for more!

A breathtaking sequel that is just as addicting as Crossroads, Between will lure you in and leave you wanting so much more. With new characters, a swoon worthy new love interest, danger, betrayal, romance and plenty of plot twists, I couldn't get enough of Mary's enchanting world or her mesmerizing mythology.
Between is a a fabulous sequel that has everything I had hoped it would be and more. The romance is taken up a notch, the danger and betrayal are fabulous and the plot twists were awesome! I didn't see that betrayal coming, and I couldn't get enough of this well written love triangle. I adore Michael and Claudia, but wow, Austin unexpectedly stole my heart in this story. I love the situations (keeping this spoiler free) that occur between the three of them. There's moments of humor when things heat up between Austin and Michael and moments were both guys had the romantic fan in sighing.
Poor Claudia.... I know where her heart is, but this girl definitely has some tough choices to make and I loved how she held her own through out the entire story. She's definitely a strong character who can hold her own and she proves she can handle more things that she's given credit for. I loved the moments where her humor and stubbornness shine through in the story. It makes her such a lovable character. The thing I wasn't prepared for, and neither was Claudia was the ending. It completely shocked me and ripped my heart out! Now I'm anxious to get my hands on the next book, because now this story can go in any direction and I need to know what's at stake for Claudia.
Mary Ting's writing is fabulous in this sequel. She emotional connected me to her story, and she kept me engaged with all the action, the romance, and her well developed, unpredictable plot twists. How could I not love a classic good vs evil battle, an epic love story and a story that keeps me on my toes? If you're looking for a new paranormal series to fall in love with, I highly recommend picking up Crossroads and Between. Mary's angel lore in unique, exciting and completely addicting.

Between, the sequel to Crossroads (read my review HERE), returns us to the vivid world Mary Ting has created. We find Claudia trying to live her life, trying to be a “normal” teen in a world that she has learned is anything but. (Side note to Claudia... Normal is soooo last year. Embrace your inner uniqueness, young padawan!)
Okay... I have to say this. *mumbles and says really quickly* There were parts of Crossroads that moved a little slow for me. The same cannot be said about Between. This book totally brings it with the intensity and action. The writing is much more fast pace, the dialogue snappier. The wonderful imagery from Crossroads is present once again, making the settings easily visualized. Ting is awesome at painting with words, in my opinion.
The characters also continue to grow, changing as the words flow across the page. *raises hands and makes sing song gestures, encouraging my lovely BtCers to join me in saying* Character development is vital, and is well done in this book. Ting puts Claudia in real life situations, and I think that is the key to her appeal: watching her struggle with these things makes her much more believable and relatable. Ting is also one of the best at writing YA morals books I have come across, and she does it again in Between... the story reflects the author’s morals, and her belief that right will triumph over wrong, and good over evil is reflected in her books.
Filled with endearing characters, a love triangle (and who doesn’t love a face off between hotties), a battle between good and evil and plot twists I never saw coming, the sequel to Crossroads will draw you in and have you turning the pages well into the night.

Between is the second installment of Crossroads Saga by Miss Mary Ting.
If you love the first book then you'll love the second one even more because everything has been upgraded! More Romance, More Action, More Angst!
I'm actually amazed at how Ms. Mary Ting wrote this book. The flow of the story is even better than the last one. It's even more exciting and a lot sexier. In here, we see how Claudia and Michael struggles because of their forbidden love. Knowing that they will be separated someday takes a toll on them and let's add up Austin, the sexy new Guardian Angel of Claudia who is crazy for her, and then there's Trinity, Michael's ex-girlfriend who wants him back and let's not forget the Fallens and Demons who wants Claudia's soul! Yup, this book is full craziness but the good kind of craziness that it won't let you stop reading it until you get to the last period and even then you'd want more!
Claudia and Michaels's love is much more deeper in here. As I said more sexier encounters and more profound love can be felt while reading their interactions. It just makes me root for them more. The second installment would not disappoint the Claudia/Michael believers out there.
This is one epic tale a real book lover wouldn't even dare to miss. I received the ecopy of this book from the author to give an honest review!
Between had me from the first page. When I finished Crossroads (the first book in the series) I could not wait to read Between. I was into this book.
It has action, forbidden love, humor, heartache, suspense all the things that make a good story come to life.
To me there were more details in this book than in book 1. But do not get me wrong, the first book was amazing, but this one took the icing on the cake for a great second book.
Mary Ting, brings back the same characters as in book 1 Crossroads, and adds some new characters into the mix. You get to know a little about each character, and fall in love yourself.
In this book we the readers see the love blossom more between Michael and Claudia only to take its toll on them both, because they both know they can never truly be together. It is forbidden. Throw into the mix Austin who you can tell deeply cares for Claudia and then Trinity (new character) who still has love for Michael. The demons and fallen are still after Claudia's soul, which she can only give freely. This book has everything to make a book a great book. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I surely would.
My favorite character I would have to say is Davin every time he would say something in the book I would just have to chuckle to myself, he is such a funny guy and a sweetheart.
I got a bit teary-eyed reading this book, I could not believe what was happening, even though I knew it had to happen. I felt so sad for both of the main characters, but I do hope there is a third book in this series. Because now I want to know what is going to happen to Claudia, Michael, Austin, Davin. Mary Ting you have me hooked. :D
Between had me from the first page. When I finished Crossroads (the first book in the series) I could not wait to read Between. I was into this book.
It has action, forbidden love, humor, heartache, suspense all the things that make a good story come to life.
To me there were more details in this book than in book 1. But do not get me wrong, the first book was amazing, but this one took the icing on the cake for a great second book.
Mary Ting, brings back the same characters as in book 1 Crossroads, and adds some new characters into the mix. You get to know a little about each character, and fall in love yourself.
In this book we the readers see the love blossom more between Michael and Claudia only to take its toll on them both, because they both know they can never truly be together. It is forbidden. Throw into the mix Austin who you can tell deeply cares for Claudia and then Trinity (new character) who still has love for Michael. The demons and fallen are still after Claudia's soul, which she can only give freely. This book has everything to make a book a great book. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I surely would.

Between was an amazing follow up to Crossroads. I felt such strong feelings with this book. The pain and sadness that Claudia felt with the loss of her Gamma and her love for Michael. Mary Ting has an amazing gift of truly making you feel with her characters.
The romance between Michael and Claudia is so sweet. They are such a cute couple! The story is written in such a way that you can just tell how much they love each other and it is worded so perfectly. And despite what I thought what I would feel when she had very slight feelings for Austin, I still liked him even though I am defiantly cheering for Michael. The secondary characters are superb! Davin is so funny with him trying to learn how to talk like a human. It’s so cute! And Vivian is the perfect friend. I don’t know why but, I really enjoyed Davin this time around. And he was so sweet to Michael during the end of the book.
The ending left me heartbroken on so many levels! I cried for Michael when he was forced into doing probably one of the hardest things in the world aside from killing Claudia. I was like NOOOO!! I won’t tell you what it was you have to actually read the book! Michael’s pain was so evident during that part. The blood seekers should also be an interesting twist. I can honestly say I have no idea what is going to happen. I hope there is a third book and that it comes out FAST! 5 stars!!

The world Mary has created from her dreams has sucked me in and made me feel a part of it! I LOVE the characters. She has made me feel as if they are my best friends! On the outside, Claudia looks and acts like your typical teenage girl, but unknowingly, she is really so much more! This is what you are going to find with many of Mary's characters, that there is so much more to know!
There are the Humans that aren't quite human, the Angels that aren't quite all angel and the Demons that used to be angels! So, once you think you've got it all down, it gets shaken up all over again!
What is nice about Mary's writing is that you don't need a scorecard of who's who to follow along. Each character has been given such a unique personality that let me create a clear picture in my mind of who they are and what they look like. Aside from my "forbidden love" power couple, Michael and Claudia, I think my favorite character is Davin. He is everybody's all-american angel. The first with the quick wit, bright smile and always a funny quip on his lips!

Oh My Wings!!!!! What an awesome follow up to Crossroads. I absolutley LOVED this book. There is so much action and emotion throughout. I enjoyed getting to know some new characters, but really loved getting to hang out with my favorites. WOW!!! I have not felt such intense feelings in a long time for a book. I wanted to yell and scream during some parts and cried like a baby at others. I was sad when I finished it beacause I did not want it to end!! I really miss these people when I'm not reading about them. They are like my friends who I love and want to be around. And Michael, what can I say about him? I adore him!!
Mary is so talented and really makes you feel a part of the world you are reading about. I don't know how she does it but she conveys the emotions so strongly that I feel like I am standing right there next to my favorite angels. And I am so grateful to have this fantastic world to escape to!!!!!

I was hired to proofread this book. The only aspects of the story that I influenced were the spelling and grammar. If you feel that my connection to the book makes my review untrustworthy, so be it, but this is my honest review.
This book got off to a violent and exciting start that had me rather worried for Claudia's welfare. I actually thought that it was a prologue that would then jump back in time in the first chapter to lead up to the events in the prologue (that makes sense right?) for a bit, which also would have been cool. That's not actually what was going on, but it could have been.
