A woman without a past…

After a tragic accident left her with no memory, Kate Alexander struggled to fit in with a husband and world that didn’t feel right. She’s had no reason to question what friends and family have told her, not until her husband is suddenly killed and she finds a photo of a young girl in his office. A girl who can’t be anyone but a daughter Kate didn’t know she had.

A man desperate for a reason to live…

Ryan Harrison lost his wife in a plane crash five years ago. To cope with the pain of her loss, he dedicated himself to his job and to raising their daughter. Now a successful pharmaceutical executive, Ryan has everything a man could want—money, fame and power—but he’d give it all up in a heartbeat for just one more day with the woman he still loves.

Two lives about to converge.

As Kate begins to dig into a past she doesn’t remember, evidence leads her to San Francisco and puts her on the path toward Ryan, a man who sees in her the woman he loved and lost. Kate feels a draw to Ryan, one she can’t explain, but is that feeling enough to convince her this is where she’s supposed to be? As Ryan and Kate search for answers, they uncover lies long buried, a passion hotter than either expected and a danger that threatens…even now…when the second chance they’ve both been searching for is finally within reach.

I'm not sure why I'm rating so high, I pretty much felt horrible for the majority of this book.

This had a premise I was desperately craving: Hero lives in agony thinking the heroine is dead but she is actually alive with memory loss. I was hoping for something deeply satisfying. Reading about men in pain is my therapy, but all it ended up doing was giving ME pain.

🛑MINOR SPOILERS. bigger one hidden in a tag🛑

◉ I skimmed a lot of parts. Like Mitch and Simone bits. Who cares?

◉ Hated some of the characters so much. Julia, that 9 year old little shit. No, I do not care that she is a traumatised, confused child. I fucking hate her. Ryan needs to learn how to use a belt soon or istg....

I don’t care what those stupid test results say. You’re not my mother. My mother died five years ago.”
“I realize this is hard for you, Julia. It’s hard for all of us. But I assure you, I am your mother.”
“That’s just biology.” Julia folded her arms across her chest. “Lots of women have kids. That doesn’t make them mothers.

bitch she was literally assumed dead by everyone who knew her and lost her whole memory💀💀💀 did you want her to send you christmas cards
description

“He’s over you, you know,” Julia went on. “He dates lots of women, has since just after you left. I think he stays with them when he goes on trips. One time, I called his hotel, and a girl answered.”

FYI she is lying. He is 100% not over her and never was. Altho he wasn't celibate after he thought the heroine died

Conclusion: beat your kids.

Her behaviour was made worse by the awful relationship development she had with Katie. She went from being super hostile to suddenly calling her 'mom'?? The accident was just a quick fix to their broken relationship, instead of actually putting effort into their development.

◉ It felt like some important bits were avoided all together and they all, once again, had to do with relationship dynamics. Katie and her whole family are basically an after thought to the mediocre mystery. I'd much rather read about her mending relationships (not through lazy devices) instead of all that half ass thriller bullshit.

◉ The way Katie was treated sometimes (by Ryan and Julia) really pissed me off. I had to read about all his mooning over dead Annie (Katie's old name), how much he misses her and bla bla bla, only for him to later treat her like shit after she literally turns up on his doorstep. He did start treating her LIKE SHE DESERVES (like what I fucking payed to see) later though, so that soothed the anger.

BUT.........

the angst of it all tho💀 I was living for it in a very masochistic way. I kid you not, this book made me Kim Kardashian ugly cry from frustration, but I also love playing the victim so it worked in my favour😌

4 Fabulous Freebie Stars!!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this story, and what I initially thought to be an unrealistic plot, turned out to be almost believable! Everything had an explanation. Okay, is it likely this could happen in real life? Maybe, it's a bit over the top, but I've seen stranger things happen. The author did a great job of allowing the reader into the lives of the characters, and giving us what we needed to put the pieces of the puzzle together. There was mystery, suspense, angst, and nice chemistry, between not one, but two couples, although only one couple was showcased when it came to the sexual encounters.

There was one scene in particular that was only hinted at, and the reader was left out almost entirely, which bothered me, because it was a huge moment for one of the characters. However, I don't want to ruin this for anyone, so I can't really express my thoughts on this. Also, considering the circumstances surrounding the plot and the characters, the book should have had an epilogue. It felt a bit rushed in the end, but overall I have to say...well done!

A love that never dies. A love story that survives anything!!!!
 photo tumblr_m1hm6tRMdb1qdfokzo1_500_zpskx8jwzhp.jpg

An almost unbelievable story but so compelling that it becomes somehow believable! Okay, maybe I am not making sense here…but let’s take a look at the storyline of this book.

Kate Alexander’s life began when she woke up from a coma a year ago. She remembers nothing before that time.
Her husband is killed in an air crash and her life is turned upside down when she discovers documents and a foto of a small child that looks exactly like her, that he had kept locked in his study. This has her going on a mission to discover what else had been kept hidden from her.

Ryan Harrison, handsome and charismatic CEO of a huge pharmaceutical company had lost his wife, Annie, in an air crash 5 years previously. He has never got over her death, which caused him to become a hard and emotionless man.

A twist of fate, kismet…whatever one calls it… the two meet and Ryan is adamant that she’s his missing wife. Kate is not sure, even though she feels some connection to him and his daughter, Julia.

This is a fast paced story, filled with suspense, great dialogue, mystery, secret and dangerous doings in drug testing by companies, lies, deceit, family, love, humor and characters that you can sympathies with .

I certainly did not expect the twist at the end…..total surprise!!!!

I liked Kate Alexander and at first I thought Ryan Harrison was a bit of a dolt…make that an asshole. His reaction and behavior towards Kate was OTT most of the time but in the end I did warm up to him. Almost understood his pain and loss and how hard it was for him to find his lost love who remembers nothing about their life together.

Adored Julia– let’s just say that at times the things she did and say were a bit…like is this kid just 10 years old!!!! But seeing her pain at thinking that she may lose her mother again was pretty heartbreaking.

The other secondary character I loved was Kate’s brother, Mitch. He was a totally endearing character and I am eagerly waiting to read his story in the next book, Hold on to Me.

My favourite quote:

Hell to the NO! I didn't sign up for this!

I hated the heroine. She ruined the book. I already tried to put myself in her shoes, yet I couldn’t warm up to her no matter how hard I tried. She was a cold woman. Too cold for my liking.

I didn't enjoy the romance aspect of this one. And unfortunately, even though the plot was compelling, the writing was good, and the suspense part was brilliant, the rest was terrible.

So, nope. Not for me.

Me gustó.

This novel started out with the prospect of being a good thriller, however I soon became disappointed when I added up the cliches, repetitions and unbelievable aspects.

The heroine, Kate, does not deeply question her circumstances and we hear little about her life after her air crash or initially about the injury resulting from that. The unsympathetic hero Ryan, and "his" daughter are obnoxious to say the least. Nine years old and as nasty as that already, with no censure from her father? The mind boggles.

I liked the brother and the lawyer, but couldn't understand why Kate's meeting with her parents, after being presumed dead for five years, was not shown after the initial phone call telling them she is alive. It appeared as though the author forgot all about it.

I didn't like the unnecessarily explicit sexual bouts, as I thought they really had nothing to do with the plot. The time when the couple should have been hesitant and awkward with each other - bearing in mind that she doesn't KNOW him or any of them for that matter - they were busy leaping on each other. This had the effect of turning Wait For Me into a pretty normal romance novel in that respect.

In my opinion, the author missed a great opportunity to turn this novel into a terrific, fast-paced thriller which could have thrived on the unusual and intricate plot alone.

Very disappointing and left me feeling cheated because I actually purchased this book

¡Espectacular! ¡Lo DE-VO-RÉ! ❤️

The story was sooo intriguing that I couldn't resist reading this book! Who wouldn't? *wink*

A woman, without memory of her prior life; a man (rich, gorgeous... bla, bla, bla), crazy in love with his dead wife...

What do you think? Who is the woman?

Misteryyyyyyy....

The story is interesting and it should have made a very, very good thriller, but... to me it dragged a little. To much time was spent in inner, Kate's or Ryan's, musing about what is happening and why.

At the beginning, Kate's perplexity about what is happening is interesting and very true. What whould you do if the man who you thought was your husband is not your husband at all? What is all the life you're able to remember is just a bunch of lies? And on top of it: you don't remember anything two years prior...

So she start searching for the truth... and discovers that, not only there's another TRUE husband, but there's also a daughter! And a brother! And in-laws, and friends she never remembered...

Frightening, no?

But... after this moment the story starts loosing its shine...

Her reasoning, so very true before, becomes a stereotypical romance. Like: Ohhh.. I'm sooo attracted to him... But I don't want to be hurt... Ohhh... I wouldn't survive if he leaves me... so I have to leave him... No, I don't want to leave him... But I must... - you know the drivel, no?

While all this musing goes on, they're investigating the why of her resurrection, because she was supposedly dead in an airplane crash. So how she survived, why she was in a coma, who her dead husband really is, and so on.

There should have been a ton of things to investigate thoroughly, but instead they were just slightly touched. Much more time was dedicated to musings, broken hearts, emotions... There were also some TSTL actions, both done by Kate and Simone (her councelor friend):

Than there's the issue of her new-found daughter: Julia. I had the feeling she was 16, insead we're told she's 9... I don't know, but I wouldn't think a 9 years old girl could reason like she did.

Obviously, the chemistry between Kate and Ryan is sizzling and the sex scene are good, but I must admit I liked better the side-romance between Mitch and Simone.

Summing it all, the character I liked most was the brother: Mitch! He was funny, not overly complicated, straitforward, obviously gorgeous (but, hey, it's a romace novel!)... His actions make sense!

Well, now you'll ask yourself why the 4 stars... well, it was interesting and the writing was good. I think it could have been much better if it was longer and more time dedicated to the thrilling/mistery part and less on inner dialogues!

This is a pretty good story. Not my first book by Elisabeth Naughton, I’ve read a book in her other series, but I think I liked this more.

The plot is really good. And, let’s be honest, for a book in this genre, it’s something to say. What's even stranger, I really liked it although I usually do not like the idea of amnesia in my books. They are rarely well-introduced and the cause of amnesia is even less likely to make any sense.

But in this case it is completely different. We meet Kate when her husband dies in an plane accident. Kate suffers from amnesia and can not remember anything that happened before two years ago when she came out of a coma. Searching through the documents of her late husband, she discovers that her life before the accident may not have looked the way her husband said. Kate decides to discover the truth.

The picture of problems related to amnesia that Kate is suffering from is done very well. I am very glad that this problem has not been treated sketchily and the emphasis is not even on the mere loss of memories but on the attempt to adapt to a new life and find your place in a new situation.

As for the suspense, it could be a little more thought-out and less detached from reality. Then when it comes to romance, the feelings between Ryan and Kate change in the blink of an eye, however for some reason they are real. I do not have the impression that everything has happened too fast and I believe in the depth of feelings between Ryan and Kate, especially considering their past that affects their current relationship.

One thing I definitely don’t like is the last chapter. It is quite sappy and somehow does not fit the rest of the book that is not so much melodramatic.

All in all, this is a very good story, I totally recommend.

Really liked this one. First time reading this author. OK, we might have to suspend the disbelief a bit with the storyline but that's what fiction is all about. Loved the main characters, the cheeky 9 year old daughter, even the little we saw of the mother in law. Great secondary characters in the brother and the lawyer. Have never read this author before but the storyline flowed and of course we got our HEA. Not sure what her other stuff is like - is it contemporary? Some of you got it as a Freebie but I paid for it - and it was worth it. What to read next is the question!

One of these days I'm going to learn that freebies are all too frequently not worth the price. If you can overlook the technical errors such as grammar, improper word usage ("alone" when the word is "along," "sinking suspicion" when the popular phrase is "sneaking suspicion"), and 48 uses of variations of the phrase "eyes slid shut," there's still the matter of a hero who is an angry jerk utterly uninterested in comprehending, much less empathizing with, the agony the heroine must be experiencing. She, for her part, is not particularly interested in either standing up for herself or feeling any sense of loss over her life prior to 18 months ago, or, indeed, in soliciting any understanding of her abduction at all, so I suppose it works for them.

My understanding of the plot prior to reading this novel was led astray by the description. It would have been enough to show me differently just to know that the title "Wait For Me" was taken in substance from this demand, "Wait for me so we can "arrive" at the same time." That would have clued me in that this is not the psychological thriller it could have been, but instead was basically a trashy novel cloaked in the cliched trimmings of a dime store mystery. And I wouldn't have wasted energy being aggravated that she could just tell her 4-year-old son, off screen as it were, that, "Oh, hey, your daddy that just died in a plane crash was not your daddy. Here's your real daddy, deal with it on your own." By the time the author avoided the scene where Kate meets her parents I had given up looking for any sense, which is good because that's where it turned into the trashy novel the author was really writing.

Not that there's anything wrong with trashy novels! (When they're well written and you know what you're getting into from the start.)

But even after I gave up on the idea of this being anything other than smut, I still had to laugh at Kate's declarations that she "never thought she'd ever have a love like this" or statements to that effect. Yeah, never? When your life started 18 months ago? You never thought you'd have a relationship like this? The kind where the only thing in life that matters is that man you're lusting? Not your kids with that man? Just the "love"? Yeah, okay.

SPOILERS.. not that there is anything new then what you read in the synopsis.

The mystery, the passion, the heartache, the joy...

THIS BOOK. This book had me gripped till the very end.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What would you do if you couldn't remember anything in your past? Everything you knew about yourself was gone and all that is an empty mind. What if you had to be told who you were, where you grew up, who your friends and family were. What if you found out you had a son and a husband who had been waiting for you to wake up from a coma that you had been in for months. What if everything they had told you was a lie.

This book made me think long and hard, about what it must have felt for Kate to lose every memory she had of herself. I can't even begin to think of how scared and frightened you would be. The frustration she had in the book when she just wished she had her memory back.

I sincerely loved how we felt everything she did. How we felt her hurt, feelings of betrayal, shock and anger towards the man she had thought she was in love with, who had lied to her from the start. The confused feelings about the man she finds out is her true husband, and the daughter she left behind..

What a story. I loved witnessing the tentative love between Ryan and Kate aka. Annie. The absolute heartache Ryan felt when he realised the love of his life could not remember a single thing about him and his daughter cut into my heart. The shock and happiness he felt when he realised both Annie and his son were alive after all this time... well let's just say it is worth the read to watch how their love story grows.

I give this book a 4.5/5!

It's not that this is bad, it's interesting enuf in the sample and I like the premise. But I'm just not in the mood to read about 2 people who are supposed to be together, love of each other's lives and all that, start off right after scenes (for him anyway) of having sex with someone else. I get it, I do, but just not in the mood to read that.

THE STORY

Kate Alexander has the perfect life…. She thinks… Well her friends and husband tell her she does.
Married to a successful Doctor for 7 years. Has a beautiful son Reed. A great job.
She just wishes she could remember it... and fit into it….

Kate had a car accident a year and a half ago and now has amnesia. The problem is she can’t remember anything from before she woke up after 4 days in a coma. She is ridiculously smart and does well in her profession, the part of the brain that has been affected is the memory, she knows things but she doesn’t remember where she was when she learned it. No childhood memories. No College memories. No memories of her marriage to Jake. No memories of Reed’s birth.

Ryan Harrison is a filthy rich pharmaceutical executive millionaire.
He has more money than he could want.
A beautiful daughter that means the world to him
And a bevy of beautiful women.
He is so unhappy. He misses his wife Annie.
She was his soul mate.

She was killed in a plane crash 5 years ago. She’s never coming back.
He would give it all up just to have her back.

There is another plane crash….
Kate’s husband Jake was on that plane.

While clearing out his things after the wake from his office, she finds documents that just don’t add up with the life she has been led to believe she was living…

The thing that freaks her out the most…..
.....................
.....................

A photo of a young girl…
A girl that is without a doubt is her daughter… that she doesn’t remember or know she had…
Why hasn’t Jake mentioned to her?

The trails of clues she keeps finding leads her to San Francisco, and straight to Ryan.

Ryan seems to hate her….
but they do say that there is a thin line between Love and Hate

MY HONEST OPINION

From the summary it sounds like it’s going to be girl meets boy – they have sex- fight break up then get back together HEA light and fluffy read right?

hahahaha no

This book was throwing punches left right and center!

Just when I thought I had it figured it out

BAM

Wow, this book took me by surprise. I don't read a lot of romantic suspense, but it’s been sitting on my kindle forever and I randomly started reading it today and couldn’t put it down. What an amazing story!

I can’t really say much about the storyline, because a big part of this book is the mystery, with twists and turns all over the place, and my inner conspiracy theorist was going crazy! But it’s also a story about family and, of course, there is a beautiful love story, and that was something incredibly special!

After a tragic accident, Kate woke from a coma 18 months ago unable to remember anything of her life before that time. She is married with a young son, she has friends, but she is living a life that is less than satisfying. Her world comes crashing around her when her husband is killed and while going through his paperwork she discovers that her life, and all that she had been told since waking up, is a lie.

Ryan is rich, handsome, wildly successful, and a single father to a precociously adorable daughter. But he, too, is living a less than satisfying life, having never recovered from the death of his wife and the love of his life, Annie, five years ago.

When Kate’s search for answers forces her to cross paths with Ryan, their chemistry-laden encounter will change their lives in ways they never imagined possible.

I love this story. Seriously love it! There were things that I expected, and others that were a big surprise, but I was mesmerised the whole way through. My heart was pounding through a huge portion of this book, and the big emotional scenes are beautifully played out. OMG, the feeeeels! I think I actually stopped breathing a few times during this book I was so caught up in the awesome. But as intense as the interactions are, they’re realistic. Kate and Ryan have both been through so much, and their coming together isn’t easy, but the way it’s done, and the emotions they experience along the way are completely, heartachingly, understandable.

The story is told in dual POV, so we know what they’re both experiencing and where they are both at, and I thought that Ryan’s story, particularly, was told really well. He is angry, hurt and full of fear, but from the moment the connection between he and Kate is made, he becomes a different man. Warm, compassionate, freer, he is committed to helping Kate find the answers she is looking for. He is also hotter than all hell, and totally swoony.

“Tell me, baby. Tell me you don’t feel anything when you’re with me. Tell me I don’t matter. We both know you can’t, because this…you and me…this is all that matters.”

Kate and Ryan’s families play a huge part of the story, the dynamics are sensational! Their children, parents, and especially Mitch, are all fantastic – and I loved that Mitch got his own little love story in there too! I thought the kids were pushed off to the side a bit too much by their parents (on the positive side, this allowed for a heaps of UST and some sexy time), but their contributions were gorgeous.

“You gotta go after the things you want, because they might not be there when you finally pull your head out of your ass and realize they’re important.”

The mystery element is full on! It’s a major part of the book and leads to thrills, betrayals and danger, but it’s all tied in really well with the rest of the story. It became heavier towards the end which, naturally, took away from the love story a little bit. That’s not necessarily negative, but as a die-hard romance fan, I prefer my focus elsewhere :P

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I am really impressed. She does a great job of mixing drama, romance, humour, mystery and suspense, and I’ll definitely be reading more of her books in the future.

I loved it – 4 stars.

I honestly do not undestand why readers gave this book 4 and 5 star ratings. I agree with other low reviews - It started out great and could have been a strong book because of the plot. I truly wanted to love this book, however, it became too rushed and chopped up. This is not a series so it was really disappointing that more time wasn't put into the story as the reader is left with alot of unanswered questions. It was also annoying that the lead female character was in a constant battle of not knowing what the heck she wanted all the way until the end. I mean at first, yes, I undertand that is sometimes the thought process when one dives into love and has a lot of messed up life stuff going on but COME ON; the author wore this issue out big time. I love Comtemporary Romance novels so what also killed it for me was how the auhtor had this original story but opted for cheesy, borderline generic dialogue once the love scenes started. Especially when you have to wait until you're more than half way through the book before any romance related parts actually happen!

This book had a very convoluted plot when it starts of the heroine is in her doctor's office getting her check-up done and wondering about her husband and how it doesn't feel like she is living her life and that her marriage doesn't seem right and then she gets the news the plane her husband was on crashed and he's dead and when people are trying to console her, she just wants them to leave and leave the city. While going through her husband's papers she finds disturbing information, instead of a few weeks she was in a coma for three years and in a different city and she finds a picture of a girl who seems to her daughter, so she moves with her son.

While trying to find information from the nursing home she was in she finds herself stone-walled and finds a lawyer who seems to think she is her friend Annie, who everyone thought died in a plane crash five years ago and who was married to Ryan, a big shot and had a daughter Julia.

Ryan was shattered when he lost Annie, he loved her and the years since she is gone changed him, now he only lives for his job and Julia and is ruthless, no-one has managed to touch his heart and then he runs across Kate and his world changes again, he is angry over finding out that the wife he adores looks at him like he is stranger and his daughter doesn't want Kate in his life.

Kate is meanwhile finding out her life was a lie, everyone expects something from her, her brother Mitch, her parents Ryan while she is finding out that her son Reed is Ryan's. In one word complicated. The world is a scary place for Kate and her daughter doesn't seem to like her while Ryan is hostile at first and she just can't reconcile that she could be deceived for so long.

I didn't like Ryan's behaviour at first, he was a jerk but then he was going through a lot of turmoil but then he changes and become better. Kate too doesn't know if Ryan is seeing her or Annie and then there is finding out what happened to her, all threads lead to someone dead and it seems it may all be connected to Ryan.

The moment when Ryan finally called her Kate was great because it showed her that he knew who she was and was falling for who she was and not who she used to be.

I enjoyed the book once it got going and the romance came into play.

Spoiler-free review. (And there's a lot to spoil.) Wait For Me is so seriously implausible, you might want to think of it as science fiction rather than romantic suspense. (I was, in fact, strongly reminded of a particular episode of "Star Trek: Voyager.") Once the premise is accepted however, it does an excellent job of showing what it might be like if this bizarre event actually happened, with results that had my heart breaking and my hands glued to my ereader. What happened is so awful, and the characters are in so much pain, torn between fear and hope.

Towards the end I was somewhat impatient with Kate; her confusion and fear were understandable, but she reacts in typical TSTL heroine fashion by refusing to consider that she's likely in danger, and then jeopardizes her relationship with her child in a way I found hard to forgive. Still, the story was utterly riviting.

Holy Sh*t! Why didn't I knew that this book existed? It is THE BEST!

Wait for Me was a coincidental read for me, usually I plan every week what I'm going to read, but few days ago I was surfing through Amazon freebies list, and this one in particular caught my eye. Maybe it was the catchy name or the synopsis indicating an a second chance relationship with a little bit of amnesia twist, whatever it was I'm so glad I found this book. It was so unexpected, and everything from the storyline to the writing to the character development blew my mind. I LOVED IT!

Kate had a memory loss after her car accident 18 months ago, and everything she learned after that about her previous life was through her husband Jake. After his sudden death, she searched through his stuff, and discovers a picture of a girl who looks exactly like her. And that girls father is Ryan Harrison, who lost his wife in a plane crash 5 years ago. The years are mixed up, but what are the chances. I mean, we know what is going to happen, but watching it unravel was so exciting, and nerve-racking at the same time, and not the forget very emotional, thought I never once felt that it was a tear-jerker read. You feel very strong emotions towards the character, and for some reason it was very easy to empathize with their situation, and the credit for that goes to the author for writing it so beautifully.

I'm one of those people who can catch a culprit within the first 30% of the book because they usually have a scene or reference in the beginning, but I literally had no clue who the bad guy was. It's safe to say that I was shocked with the discovery, therefore, suspense part gets a thumbs up from me. As for romance, I felt it. It took time for things to get in the right direction, and that is what I expected. There were some highs & lows in the relationship, and the ending made everything perfect. I love the power of fates!

If I say anymore, I'll sound like an infomercial, so my advice to you is to BUY the book right now. Reasons? First, it's free on Amazon; Second, it is a full length 266 pages book, not a novella; Third, the story is very touching and believable; Fourth, it has great romance in it; Five, it has hot steamy sex in it, more than once, and Six, it is my unforgettable read.

Liking the sound of this one!

BLURB: A woman without a past…

This book had serious potential. The story was captivating at first, but about halfway through, it turned into smut which I didn't care for. Didn't care for the language either. I did feel the need to finish it just to see how it ended. Not impressed.

Well the premise of Wait For Me sure had me intrigued and eager to start this latest contemporary romance from Elisabeth Naughton.

How horrifying must it be to awake from a coma, not remembering anything about your past life and having to rely on and believe everything you are being told by someone you trust, someone who claims to be your husband. Kate Alexander finds out one day when her whole world as it’s existed for the past 18 months since she woke up from a coma has been a lie. But how does she find who she really is when she has no memory?

Ryan Harrison was devastated when the love of his life and mother of his child Annie died in a plane crash. Basically caring for his young daughter Julia and growing his business into a multi-million dollar company has occupied his every waking thought. Now five years, he gets the shock of his life when he finds a living reincarnation of his dead wife standing on the street in front of his house. Shocker alert!

Wait for Me is choke full of emotion. Disbelief, anger, betrayal, shock, and awe as lives of mothers and fathers, siblings and children are in total upheaval once the results are conclusive that Kate Alexander is indeed Annie Harrison. How is it all possible? What happened to a pregnant Annie Harrison the day she was supposed to have boarded a plane that crashed, her personal effects found in the rubble of the plane? Someone went to a lot of effort and trouble to make it appear as if Annie Harrison had died.

Kate Alexander is physically Annie, but emotionally she’s Kate and that causes a lot of issues for her brother Mitch, her daughter Julia who is distant, hostile and refuses to believe Kate is really her mom. And then there’s Ryan – her husband...a man she can’t remember. He’s angry and wants his wife back, but really even though she didn’t technically die in a plane crash – Annie Harrison as she existed 5 years ago has ceased to exist and it's a bitter pill for Ryan to swallow. He still loves Kate/Annie no matter what she is calling herself these days.

There were lots of emotional moments, both heart-wrenching and hopeful in Wait For Me as Ryan and Kate try to rebuild. Not what they once had since that relationship vanished along with Annie’s memory, but a new relationship based on the people they’ve become 5 years after the tragic event. And Kate’s got a mountain to clime trying to win back the love and trust of her 9 year old daughter Julia. So much angst and emotion.

I didn’t want to put this book down. I wanted to find out right along with Kate and Ryan who the heck had ruined their lives. The rebuilding of the relationship between Ryan and Katie, their special connection was what made Wait For Me a great read. There were times I wanted to shake both of them. Each of them so overwhelmed by the situation couldn’t see what the other was going through. Ryan only saw his beloved wife every time he looked at Kate while she knew the woman Ryan wanted as his wife was gone forever and could only hope he could love and accept her as the woman she had become.

A really high-intensity romantic suspense centered around cancer pharmaceutical-testing. This book has a fantastic cast of characters, two great romances for the price of one, and just a really good book by Naughton, whose "Stolen" series is one of my favorites.

★★★★½ Loved this one. Near perfection for me, especially with my amnesia obsession. LOL!

I did do the Whispersync combo of Kindle and audio and enjoyed the narrator, too.

Great spontaneous “buddy read,” too. Thanks for twisting my arm, ShoSho. LOL!
