Lemony Snicket had an unusual education and a perplexing youth and now endures a despondent adulthood. His previous published works include the thirteen volumes in A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Composer is Dead, and 13 Words. His new series is All The Wrong Questions.
This series was one of my favorites in middle school. I loved the author and how he constantly broke the fourth wall. The definitions of words were entertaining for me but actually really helpful to my sister, who struggled to enjoy reading overall but loved these as well. It's a charming little story, although I will say that the ending was incredibly disappointing (I'm still not sure I really understood what happened...), and the narrative started to get a little repetitive around books 7 and 8.
I learned in this book and many other series of unfortunate event books that in life nothing is fair! To me this was a pretty good book I enjoyed it very much and if you havn't read any of these books you are surely missing out, so read one. (: First off, thank goodness for Lemony Snicket without him I would definitely not appreciate the things I own and have in life. This book is about three Baudelaire children, their parents are dead and they are in the middle of no where, being accused of murder. Oh and did I mention while they are being chased around for murder that a evil man named Count Olaf is searching for them, trying to steal their fortune that the three childrens' parents have left behind for them for when Violet comes of age. Okay, so now I would like to tell you about the three Buadelaires. Violet is 14 years old, she loves to invent, and can invent almost anything out of whatever, she is super talented. Claus is 13 years old, he has read thousands of books and surprisingly he can remember about every detail in those books he has read. Sunny is the youngest Baudelaire, she is 4 years old, she doesn't have much of a vocabulary, and she has four teeth that are as about as sharp as any lions teeth, therefore, she enjoys biting on things. These three children are just trying to escape and survive as well as they can until they come up with a plan to do something that will benefit their lives. There you have it that is basically what The Hostile Hospital by Lemony Snicket is all about.
I really enjoyed this book because it was unique. I found this book accidently and I noticed that this book is the one that was made to movie. The book is not like others. Even though it is for children, it doesn't tell chilren hope or coincidental events. Three children in this book lost their parents and all of the sudden they became orphan. If it was like other stories, they would suffer hard time but eventually they will live happily ever after. However, the auther wants to be cruel for these children. They are having hard time every minute and they can't run away from that. After they over come one hard situation, another one happens. Though those three children has their own ability and they are not normal children, they cannot over come it. I just read first book, The bad beginning, so I was curious about how will their destiny will go. If I have a chance I want to read other eight.

" A Series off Unfortunate Events, A Bad Beginning" by was an amazing book. Written by Lemony Snicket, The book had great detail and always kept you on your toes, that's why I rated it 5 stars. It's about the three bouldadare children who lose their gigantic house and parents in a terrible fire and have to stay with their uncle, Count Olaf. Count Olaf's house was very old and run down, and he always made the kids do these horrible, back-breaking chores.
I don't why there are three book cover looks but anyways this first book. Was about I think about two orphans that are taken to a bad orphanage. The man who takes care of them is the person who is bad.He takes good care of them at first. Then he takes care of them badly, anyways this book was very interesting.
I must say that this series dissapointed me. The first few books of it that I read were pretty good, but after the third or fourth one, I really had to push myself to finish them. It isn't that they're hard, but they are quite repetative, and it seems that half the time, Lemony Snicket spent more time telling you to put the book down then he did telling the story. It drove me nuts.
I thought that these books were very interesting. I liked how snickit made a secret little org. and all of that stuff good one!!!!!!!!#@$%#^$&())%%$$#$#^%$&^%%$#
The ending to this series was terrible. It seemed as if the writer was tired of all the plot twists and suspense. The buildup to the end was immensely enormous so I guess he got overwhelmed and wrote an underwhelming ending. I still read it though.
No matter how many times they told me how the ending would go, I still I wanted to read it. I suppose it's because Lemony Snicket had created very memorable characters and like any fan, I just didn't want it to end that way.
I've read all the Series of Unfortunate Events books and I really like them. You'd think they were really depressing and they kind of are, but they're also funny-in a sarcastic, ironic way.
This book has you following the story of the Baudelaire Orphans till beginning to end. It makes you guess what will happen to them and how it will affect their long journeys. Simply amazing!
Really good books out aimed for a younger audience. loved all the.. adventures, you'd call it, i suppose. I remeber strting em wen I was abt 10 years old and I loved them!
I've read about 5 of these books this week. They are particularly interesting because of their integrated vocabulary lessons (perfect for language learners).
