Rancher and mountain climber Josh Conway has never backed down from a challenge. So when a photographer disappears in the wilderness during a blizzard, Josh answers the emergency call and leaps into action. Yet he's soon shocked to find the person in "distress" is doing fine-and she's a gorgeous blond spitfire who's as brave and bold as he is.

Sierra Moore will stop at nothing to capture the perfect picture, even if it means braving a snowstorm in the mountains. She's not used to being rescued, especially by a ruggedly handsome cowboy who makes her heart skip a beat. Sierra can't turn down Josh's invitation to ride out the storm at the Conway family ranch-and she can't resist his slow, steamy kisses, either. But this mysterious beauty is hiding a deadly secret. Now as a dangerous force closes in on her, Sierra fears it will destroy everyone she cares about . . . starting with Josh.

This is the story of the second Conway brother Josh, who’s not just a rancher but also knows the mountains enough to look for missing people. He encounters Sierra when he is asked to rescue her from the mountains. And, while I enjoyed their love story more than Quinn and Cheyenne’s, the mystery encircling a stalker and the entire scene involving it near the end seemed to be a stretch to me.

Very good book with a good blend of romance and suspense. Josh is very much at home in the mountains and when the rangers ask him to find a missing hiker, he heads right out. Finding Sierra wasn't hard, she wasn't lost at all. She is a photographer and had simply gotten involved in what she was doing and forgotten to check in. She's a bit wary of Josh when he shows up but it isn't long before she comes to trust him. She's glad to have him on her side when a stalker shows up.

I really liked both Sierra and Josh. Sierra has grown up as a loner. Her parents never married and were more interested in their own lives. She spent her childhood in boarding schools, never quite fitting in. Thanks to her parents and a couple bad relationships, she doesn't believe in love at all, that men will say whatever they need to in order to get what they want. She has decided to concentrate on her career as a photographer and has come to the Tetons to get some nature shots. She is also trying to get away from a man who became too intense in his pursuit of her. She got so involved in her photography she never thought about notifying the rangers until Josh showed up to "rescue" her. Once she got over the fright of a strange man invading her space, she couldn't help but notice his good looks and the attraction zinging between them. I liked the immediate connection they had. It made it much easier for Sierra to go to the ranch with Josh when she found that threatening note in her car. I loved seeing Sierra's surprise at how easily she was welcomed at the ranch and how quickly she felt part of them. I really loved seeing her excitement at all the things she was being exposed to. She had such a great time taking photos of the cattle roundup I could almost see the pictures myself as she described the scenes. When she and Josh went back up on the mountain to take more pictures I loved her reaction to the sights and her joy in everything she saw. She felt herself falling for Josh but she was afraid to trust those feelings. And when her stalker showed up and put everyone in danger, she couldn't deal with the guilt. She felt that because of the mistakes in her past and what had happened that she didn't deserve to have a good life. It takes some work for Josh to convince Sierra but the result was worth it.

Josh is the middle brother and a bit of a loner himself. He loves his family, but sometimes he has a need to escape. Josh has always felt at peace on the mountain. Because he knows it so well, the rangers call on him when they need help finding missing hikers. I loved seeing him head right out, his concern evident. His surprise when he found Sierra perfectly well and unaware that she was "missing" was great. Once he convinced her that he wasn't a threat, they got along very well. Josh was drawn to her beauty and her joy in what she was doing. When they started their hike off the mountain he was quickly impressed by her skills. He didn't really want to part ways with her once they got to the ranger station and was happy when she finally accepted his invitation to stay at the ranch. I loved seeing him draw her into their circle and make her feel at home. He had never felt anything before like what he was feeling now and he wants a chance to explore it. When he found out about Sierra's stalker his protective side came out and he was determined that she stay where it was safe. I had a great time seeing him try to get closer to Sierra and getting delayed by his dad. When Josh and Sierra went on their hiking trip I loved the way that he told her so much about his past and plans for the future. He wanted her to be part of it but he didn't want to rush her either. His fears for her when they were attacked brought home to him how much he cared. When it was all over, the scene when she tried to leave was so moving, as Josh showed her just how much he understood her and wanted her in his life.

The suspense part of the book, seeing Sierra has she tried to escape her stalker was well done. It started with just a hint of what was going on, and then expanded to include things from his point of view. As the book went on and his obsession grew I got very invested in seeing how it would turn out.

I loved the whole Conway family. They were such an important part of the whole story, from their first welcoming of Sierra to the ranch to Big Jim's machinations to keep her from leaving. The love they have for each other is obvious. Their teasing was hilarious, but never mean. I loved the way that they took right to Sierra, making her part of them without any trouble. I also loved the way she fit in with them so well, right from her first comment to Big Jim about her being the "fool hiker" who got lost. I want to read Quinn's and Jake's stories as soon as I can get to them.

Josh is book 2 in the Wyoming Sky series by R.C. Ryan. I loved it! Honestly, I read a couple of not so friendly reviews about this book and was really less than enthusiastic about reading even though book 1 showed a lot of promise. I am so glad that I didn't let those reviews stop me from picking this one up. It was so much better than the first book.

Josh Conway is the middle son in the Conway family. He makes his living contributing to the very profitable family ranch. He is also the man that they call in when someone is lost in the mountains and no one else can find them. He spent his whole childhood roaming those mountains and knows them like no other. When called to rescue a young woman who has not checked in at the station he expects to find a scared woman holing up and just waiting to be rescued. What he finds is nothing he expects and something he didn't realize he was missing.

Sierra Moore is on the run from a stalker. Fearing for her life she left her life abroad and found herself in Wyoming photographing the beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Thinking he would never follow her she finally feels safe to dedicate her life to her career. And she's learned a valuable lesson. She has never believed in love and forever after, but she now has given up on casual dating. Look what happened after just a couple of dates. She doesn't expect a rescue attempt from Josh Conway, that she didn't need, to change her entire life.

Honor those who gave you life, but choose your own path. Remember this: There is no one else quite like you. So, as you journey, make wise choices, for each road leads you closer to your goal."

I really loved the story of Sierra and Josh. I love the entire Conway family. It's so refreshing to read about a family who truly likes each other, are hard workers and great family values.

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads in exchange for a review.

I believe I might have found a new favorite Western/Romance writer! R.C. Ryan's tale was witty, exciting, heart-warming, dangerous, and sexy! I fell in love with rancher/rescuer hero Josh Conway. His character as a capable rancher and a smart fearless mountain rescuer was very appealing. His family was very lovable and I quickly was smitten by all the wonderful family scenes featured.

Female love interest, photographer Sierra, I had a little more trouble warming to mostly because I spent half the novel wondering if she was just a little too good to be true. Nope she was really that good, which is why Josh and his family were so interested in her.

The romance between Sierra and Josh started and halted several times mostly because his loving family would get in the way which made those scenes comical and realistic. But once they acted on their attraction the scenes were both steamy and romantic.

The only complaint that I had was the the bad guy, Sierra's stalker, Sebastian wasn't featured more. His anger and conceit I thought were fascinating aspects that while mentioned, weren't really delved into until later. Which for me, didn't make him such of a evil threat until later.

However overall the novel was very fun to read and I will definitely be reading all about brothers Quinn and Jake in their books. I recommend this wonderful western romance story!

Josh by R.C. Ryan
ISBN: 9781455502431
Josh Conway lives on the ranch with his brothers, father, and grandfather and they have 2 females who do the domestic for them. He is also a top notch climber and has been known to help the officials by going up into the mountain to help rescue people who are lost.
His mother had disappeared when he was younger, with no clues. He finds calm on the mountain on his ledge. He gets summoned and is able to find the woman photographer, Sierra Moore and ends up bringing her back to the house. Things occur that made her stay a bit longer and the cops are called in.
She stays even longer and capture ranch life with her camera. Even witnessed the roundup and was able to help the women on the ranch to a girls only day out on the town at the salon.
With the threats no longer a problem Josh and Sierra plan to spend some time on the mountain getting to know one another better and she wants to again capture the snowfall with her camera.
The wildlife are extraordinary and I loved hearing about the different colors of the sun rises and sets and the descriptions of the flowers, plant life, etc
Things don't go as planned for their trip and others have to come to the mountain to help...
Loved how the family life is portrayed as hard working and caring people.
Love that this is a series with the other brothers having their own books.

This is the book that every reviewer dreads. In fact, it is the book that every reviewer at The Window Seat REALLY dreads. It is the book that takes you WAAAY out of your comfort zone. As fate would have it, none of us are into contemporary westerns. Set the western back a few hundred years, and I might be tempted, but the three of us generally avoid these books like the plague. But when you have to review them, you have to remember that the book by its nature is unappealing and look beyond it to the book itself. I tried very hard to do that this time around.

Josh Conway lives with his father and brothers on a ranch in the mountains. That aspect I liked. I can never turn down a band of brothers yearning for a HEA. And the Conway boys are no exception. Josh helps people by finding them if they get lost on the mountain. As fate would have it, when Sierra Moore is deemed missing, Josh is the one to set out to help.

Good, not great. What is appearing to be a theme for this author (twice now) is the lack of any type of contraception talk before (or during) the sexy times (that are fairly mild). Just once, since this is a contemporary.
Overall, I liked Sierra and Josh, both individually and together. I enjoyed the family and how close knit there were.
The big question is, are we going to get an answer in regards to Seraphine and what happened to her in the last book? She (their mother who just disappeared- no trace) was mentioned multiple times in Quinn and this one. I'm gonna be disappointed if that plot point doesn't have some sort of resolution.

Josh loves being a rancher, living on the homestead with his close knit family. As a child his get away was the mountains around his home. Now he's the go to guy when hikers get lost in those mountains. With a storm closing in Josh is called in to find a hiker who hasn't checked in, can't be reached, and may be in trouble from the storm.

Budding photographer Sierra is looking forward to getting wonderful shots of the storm from the middle of it. She's got food, her tent and she's ready. She gets a big surprise when the rugged cowboy shows up.

Josh is glad to see Sierra safe. Part of doing his job is seeing her off the mountain, despite her objections. With the storm bearing down. Josh brings her back to the family home. Snowed in with them, Sierra has no choice but to accept their hospitality.

But Sierra is hiding a secret. And on a quick run into town, she realizes the danger she's been running from has caught up to her. She needs to decide, does she accept the safety and security Josh offers or go it on her own to keep him safe.

I've been on a western reading kick lately. I don't have a lot in my library, and just by chance many of the books I've picked up have been authored by Ms. Ryan. I really enjoy her characterizations and the way she writes close family ties. I really enjoyed Josh's story. Now, having read the teaser for his brother Jake's story I've ordered the book and can't wait to read what sounds like a truly intriguing and emotional story.

Josh

Appears to be a too common title. Book one in the series seemed all too familiar and it was, I’ve read it. There are just so many possible scenarios and by now I’ve encountered most of them. Ranch life is hard on women and the mother of this clan ditched the scene.

Josh is the second son of the Conway clan and a renowned mountain rescue climber. He meets his future love interest while sharing a tent on a mountain top in the Grand Tetons during an intense storm. The gal has other issues. She has attracted the attention of an obsessive, controlling, and abusive suitor she is attempting to avoid.

The book evokes a feel-good family vibe. These people like one another. Josh is a rescue climber in love with high places and here he gets to make love in high places. The pair have a life-threatening adventure but the biggest challenge for Josh is persuading his love that all men aren’t lyin, cheatin, commitment phobic scum.

This is a good story about the second of the Conway brothers. Josh was called to help locate a missing hiking during a snow storm in the Tetons but apparently Sierra Moore felt like she did not need saving. Josh offered his family’s home to Sierra when she needed somewhere to go after her rescue and she accepted because she knew someone was following her. During her visit with the Conway family, she learned that there were three generations living on the ranch with Big Jim as the Grandfather and her family was nothing like this one. The mystery comes when Sierra receives a note and a gift from someone she had run away from. I enjoyed this story very much.

Another good book of the Conway family in Paintbrush Wyoming. Josh meets Sierra Moore when he is sent by the rangers to find a lost hiker...turns out she wasn't lost. Sierra is a photographer and is written so we really get the wonderment of her photos and her joy in nature. Definitely recommend this book

Josh is the second book in the Wyoming Sky series, and I have to say this series is making me a fan of RC Ryan!! I will be looking into her backlist! These are strong loyal men with true hearts of gold!!

Josh Conway is the one the rangers call when a climber gets lost on the mountains, and they can’t find them. Josh grew up sneaking out of the house to climb more so after his mother’s disappearance. He is all set to help his brothers on their family ranch, when he gets a call that a hiker is lost and they are having issues finding her. He packs his gear and heads out. But he isn’t prepared for the sexy hiker he finds. He expected to find her upset and lost, but what he found was her lost in her work.

Sierra Moore thought she had hidden herself well on the mountain and his surprised as hell when Josh walks into her tent, so she grabs the only thing she can to protect herself, a plastic spoon. LOL .. She didn’t think of checking in with the ranger station when the big storm hit, because she was so excited about the pictures she is getting of it. When Josh calls in to tell the head ranger he found her, it is strongly suggested that she come down the mountain with him. But when she gets to her car there is a note from someone she running from. When she decides the last thing she wants to do is get back in that car, Josh offers for her to come to his family ranch and spend the night.

The Conway family plays a big part in this story as well. Sierra’s childhood wasn’t one with a loving family but of pure loneliness, so she is beyond enchanted with this wonderful loving family. One night turns into many nights due to a storm bringing in too much snow for them to leave the ranch, when her troubles are brought on their doorstep they insist she stay with them for protection. But can she resist falling in love with not just Josh, but his family as well??

I absolutely love these types of books that center around big families. I come from a huge family, and it is nice to see a family not portrayed as a group of backstabbing crazies. Not every family is constantly fighting; there are many out there that just plain like each other. I absolutely adore Big Jim he is that ruff and tough type of grandfather that you just want to sit and chat with, and I absolutely love that he still goes out to his wife’s grave to tell her about his day and at times share his dessert with her. This book will play with your heart and your nerves!! I hope y’all enjoy it as much as I have.

This is book 2 in the Wyoming Sky series. Josh is the middle son. As a young boy after the disappearance of his mother he used to hike the Teton mountains on his families property. It was his way of finding peace. He had special places on the mountain he would go and just think and be. As a grown up he's the one they call when the professionals can't find missing hikers. This is what he thinks he's doing when he finds photographer Sierra Moore in a tent in the middle of a blizzard. Thing is she's not lost and she's loving the storm and the photos she's been able take while it's been raging on. Sierra's had a rough up bringing. Love is not something she really knows about her experiences have taught her how to depend on only herself. Josh might have lost him mom at a young age when she disappeared but he's always had other close family and friends. He's always felt love. He takes to Sierra right away. She's different than any woman he's ever known. Problem is she's got a secret. Josh can tell somethings up but he doesn't want to pry so he lets it go. Sierra has a stalker. A rich man who thinks he can have whatever he wants has followed Sierra from Paris. He promised to help her with her career but what he really wanted to control her and make her do what he wanted. She thought she had escaped him when she left Paris but he finds her in Wyoming and is playing for keeps. Bringing danger to the whole Conway ranch and family.

I liked book 2 much more than book 1 for some reason. I struggled with book one some when i was reading it but was pulled right along through book 2. I loved Sierra. She's a tough cookie who learned long ago to stand on her own. Josh is great though too. He sees her for who she is and she's not perfect and that's fine with him. They compliment each other nicely and the family takes to Sierra from the first meeting. 4 out of 5 Modokker Book Pick stars for Josh by RC Ryan. Look forward to the youngest brother Jake. A excerpt can be found at the back of Josh's book for that book.

Sweet romance with some drama and a sometimes dumb heroine. Fell a little flat on occasion and rather rushed through the romance part.

The male MC (Josh) in this story was nicely developed, as was the female MC (Sienna). The book centers around the Conway family, who lives on a large ranch in Wyoming. Josh is a rancher who is also very familiar with the surrounding mountains, so when the rangers call him about a missing female hiker, Josh sets out to find her.

What he doesn't know is that Sienna is not really lost. A photographer, she's in the mountains to run away from a sinister pursuer. She's got a good backbone, but makes a couple of dumb decisions that almost cost her dearly.

There's some humor in this book, and a lot of great family interactions. It was fun to watch the Conway boys fall all over their women, and while the romance between Josh and Sienna felt a bit rushed, I enjoyed this book for the most part. The sudden leap from sexual attraction to everlasting true love was too sudden to feel realistic.

What also bothered me is that much attention was giving to the mysterious disappearance of Josh's mother, a fact that was repeated a few times, and plays a key role for the development of his character, yet nothing was resolved. This was a subplot that seemed to take up too much space for not actually fully addressing it. I also found out after requesting this book that it's part of a series, so perhaps this will be addressed in a future release.

I really liked the vivid descriptions of the Wyoming landscape. Albeit, it wasn't enough to push this book to four star level. It's a nice read for blustery day, but overall not a book that will stay in my mind for very long.

I received a free ARC from the publisher via Netgalley. A positive review was not promised in return.

Funny little anecdote: I found out about this series at the local bookstore because a copy of Josh was for sale. The other brothers were nowhere to be found. I've been wanting to read Josh for ages now, so it seems only right that he's my favorite brother so far.

I really liked Josh and Sierra's love story much more than the first book in this series, Quinn (which follows the title character and his now-wife Cheyenne). Josh and Sierra feel like a much more compatible match and theirs is a love story that I was drawn to from page 1. They meet on a mountaintop when he is called as an emergency rescuer, sent to save a "crazy hiker" from a blizzard. Turns out the crazy hiker will become the love of his life.

Where this story docked points with me is the whole Sebastien Delray storyline. I was never a fan of the stalker storyline to begin with and the climactic ending was just too unrealistic. A helicopter landing in a landing strip that's too small, without anyone getting hurt? Josh getting shot multiple times but being able to walk and also carry a rifle and protect Sierra? And beyond that, only having to spend a couple of nights in the hospital post-GSW? I can appreciate a lot of creative freedom but this was the really outlandish, unbelievable, too unrealistic scene in an otherwise realistic romance novel.

Not realizing that Josh was 2nd in a series, it is the first book I have read by this author. I enjoyed it, and am getting ready to go back and read the book that comes first, Quinn. I enjoyed the main characters in this book, Josh Conway and Sierra Moore, and I thought the secondary characters were likeable. I look forward to reading more about this group of characters.

Josh Conway is often called upon for mountain rescues in his area, and he is asked to check on a hiker who is late returning from the mountains in bad weather. When Josh finds Sierra Moore, she is hunkered down and doing fine. He ends up taking her home to his ranch and family. It soon becomes apparent that Sierra is running from something or someone. When the Conway family learns her secrets, they come together to try to protect her and remove the danger from her life. While keeping her safe, Josh develops strong feelings for Sierra.

I really liked Josh and Sierra, and I thought the storyline was good. The man who was after Sierra was a character who seemed truly evil. I enjoyed the action and suspense in the book. I received this book as an ARC through Netgalley.

2.5 stars:

I don't know why this didn't move me more than it did. I liked the main pair and loved the family but something just didn't work for me.

Josh is a great guy. A loner most of his life he is called out to rescue a missing climber. He ends up meeting an amazing woman who he is instantly attracted to both from a physical perspective and from his glimpse of her personality. What starts as a rescue ends up becoming more than he expected and it was nice to see.

Sierra has issues.. major issues... this isn't helped by her upbringing or the stalker who is out to get her. She's not easy to warm up to but I did like her willingness to live life and try things. She's a good person but I found the stalker story a little off.. Not that it was bad but something just wasn't there with that portion of the story.

There is a bit of heat but nothing major and the family was wonderful to watch. I might read more just to see more of them. As for this main pair... it was nice but something just didn't click with the full story.

Thanks to NetGalley.com and Grand Central Publishing for the chance to read this in exchange for my honest review.

After reading the first one in the trilogy, I wasn't sure I wanted to read the next book. Well I'm glad I decided to do it after all. I became very fond of this three generation family that live and work together and have so much fun doing it. You have the grandfather, the father, and his three grown men sons, as well as the cook and housekeeper who's also a surrogate mother to the boys since their mom disappeared when they were young. I look forward and hope we'll learn in the last book what happened to her. And I want the father to find peace of mind and why not love too.

I thought this novel was a great tribute to the cowboy life style. And it was sweet to see the curiosity and interest Sierra demonstrated in Josh's life as a rancher. I liked how she automatically mingle with his family.

It's beautifully described how Josh the loner is intrigued and captivated by the heroine and I liked her spontaneity and enthusiasm.

There was still a villain. This time it's a stalker and I found this part more interesting than with Quinn's story. It helped develop stronger ties between Sierra and Josh's family and between them as well.

This second story in the Wyom ing Sky series is just as good as the first one. This is brother Josh's story as he saves a woman off of the mountain in a blizzard. He finds a beautiful woman who loves the storms and loves to take great pictures in the wilderness. She has had a very solitary life and finds the happenings in the Conway family very heartwarming and eye-opening to see how a family works. Of course getting to her climbing buddy and finding a clamness to her life when he is around makes her leary of her feelings. When she is threatened by her stalker up on the mountain Josh has to help her and the family coming together to save her and him find that Sierra is indeed a very strong woman. I loved this story and can't wait for the third brother's story that will come out next year. If you like Linds Lael Miller's contemporary cowboy stories then you will love these as well.

This is the 2nd book in the Wyoming Sky serires. I really like Josh and enjoyed revisiting the characters from the first book, Quinn. Sierra is a different story. There were parts of her personality that I likeed and other parts that I didn't. She was outgoing, but made stupid decisions. When she first came to the ranch and had to confess her background, it just wasn't that big of a deal. She made it seem that she committed a crime. Her quick thoughtless decisions turned me against her sometimes. I would have given this 4 stars if Sierra's character was better. I love the way RC write, but some scenes seemed to be forced and not thought out enough. It was more of a means to an end instead of following the flow of the story. I will definitely continue with the series. I hope Big Jim and Cole are able to have HEA also.

Josh was a real fun book to read. I liked him and his attitude. I esecially liked his relationship with Big Jim, his grandfather. When Josh is called up to search for a photographer who never checked in while hiking in the Tetons, he has no idea how much his life is about to change. You gotta love their first interaction in the tent with plastic cutlery. I like Sierra's spunk. Sebastian sure was a piece of work. This story moved ahead quickly, but smoothly, for me. I'd love to see the pics from the round-up. Another Conroy bites the dust with a smile on his face. You'll love the animals they see on his mountain.

This was a wonderful follow up to "Quinn", the first book in the trilogy.

I really enjoyed the love story between Josh and Sierra. I enjoyed the big Conway family with all the wonderful characters and I also like the thrill in the story. Everything fitted together and left me with a happy feeling after reading.

I really enjoy reading such love stories without much drama. The thriller story was a bit predictable but that didn't make the book any less good or fun for me.

Looking forward for the third book about the youngest brother Jake.

Josh was a fantastic romantic story involving a good ol' romantic, gentlemen of a cowboy! The story had light suspense and mystery which was good. However, it was the family values of 3 generations living together with all their love and hard work that really impressed me. Thank you R.C. Ryan for a fantastic story!! My ONLY disappointment to the book was that I was hoping the father, Cole, and their housekeeper, Phoebe, would end up together. Maybe in the future??? Thank you Goodreads for the free book.

This has turned out to be a wonderful series. I enjoyed Quinn and I loved Josh. R. C. Ryan writes sweet, sexy and suspenseful romance books that will keep you on the edge of your seat at times and make you sigh at other times. Sierra was a strong and loving person even though she was basically left to raise herself and felling life was full of lies. Josh was always surrounded by the people he loved and he shows Sierra what love and family means.
I highly recommend this series to everyone. Oh and there are a lot of hot sexy cowboys. What more could you ask for.

This second book in the Wyoming Sky series is as good, if not better, than the first. Josh, a very strong, family oriented, cowboy meets Sierra, a free spirited photographer with non-traditional parents. Their backgrounds are are totally different but they are very much attracted to one another. This is a heart-grabbing story with great emphasis on family. I highly recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a really good romance.

Josh by R.C.Ryan

I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did the other two book in the series: "Quinn" and "Jake". "Josh" had a little more cheesy dialog in a few spots and the female lead was annoying at times. Sierra is my least favorite type of female character - wishy-washy instead of standing up to a cruel person.

These characters were the weakest of the bunch. Still, R.C. Ryan writes interesting stories and they are worth a read.
