What can I say; I fell in love with Veronica Blade writing after reading “A Bite’s Tale” and “Blind Date, Checkmate”. Blade has the ability to put her imagination to paper in a way that completely draws the reader in and “From Fame to Shame” is no different.

“From Fame to Shame” happens to be Veronica Blade’s first attempt at writing at weaving a story together. It comes even before her other successful books such as the before mentions titles and her first published full length novel “Something Witchy This Way Comes”.

As for being her first attempt it doesn’t show. She manages to take hold of the characters and develop them the Veronica way. The way she writes her characters effortless and breathes life into them; you can’t help but feel the instant connection.

Blade’s writing never ceases to amaze me. My next vacation spot… A trip inside Veronica imagination. What it must be like to have such a creative imagination she can seemingly effortless write such a captivating story that will always leave you want more from her.

If you haven’t already downloaded your copy of “From Fame to Shame” what are you waiting for. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I have a huge issue with this book!
It is far too addictive. I stayed up until 3 in the morning just to finish it because it had some kind of addictive quality that compelled me to continue reading until the very end!
Agh!
Other than that I have no complaints about the book whatsoever. It’s not the kind of book that you can go into expecting it to be this amazing piece of literary genius; it’s the kind of book you pick up for some light-hearted fun and good times.
From Fame to Shame is really sweet and I just couldn’t help but love Maddie and Jackie. I will admit that at first I was a little suspicious of Dallas but I warmed up to him eventually.
I feel like I could go on forever about how amazing this book is but I’m just going to leave it with this. If you are looking for a light, fun read that will only take a couple of hours to get through then you should totally check this one out because it is amazing!

This lighthearted and fun novella tells the story of Maddie's adventures in Hollywood, where she's standing in as her teen starlet sister, Jackie. It seems like a fairly easy task... a couple red carpet events, a few photographs, no big deal, right? What no one reckoned on was Jackie's sexy ex and next door neighbor, Dallas. Would Maddie be able to keep up the pretense of being her sister, even as she falls for the hot (and totally swoon-worthy) Dallas or would she slip up and reveal the truth? Veronica Blade does a wonderful job of drawing the reader in and keeping them hooked until the very last word. This is a great book for romance lovers and YA addicts alike. Keep up the great work, Ms. Blade!

E-Book: From Fame To Shame by Veronica Blade
Pages: 153
Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary
Source: Sent from Crush Publishing

Short Synopsis: Maddie is reluctant to switch places with her movie star twin, Jackie. But when Jackie convinces Maddie it's what she needs, there's no turning back once Maddie makes it to Hollywood.

My Thoughts: I loved this cute, entertaining read! So much fun packed into one awesome book!

Maddie is a small town goodie two shoes, whose happy with her life. But her life is suddenly turned upside down when Jackie is in a crisis, as paparazzi are constantly hounding Jackie, and she needs to escape. Jackie convinces her twin to switch places with her.
Almost as soon as Maddie switches places, Maddie is immediately thrust into the movie star world, as she walks the red carpet, chats with famous celebs, especially the yummy Dallas Bines, who happens to be Jackie's ex.
But when fate brings Maddie and Dallas together time and time again, Maddie finds it rather hard to keep her secret that she is not who Dallas thinks she is. And as the two continue to see each other, the paparazzi throw them into an even wilder twist. Can Maddie survive in Jackie's world long enough for Jackie to find herself, and can Maddie control her emotions when it comes to Dallas?

A very cute fast paced, orifinal read. I enjoyed reading all about the characters. I completely fell in love with Maddie, and it was so entertaining to read what she had to go through. Maddie isn't always sure of herself, but always tries to stay true and loyal to those she cares about.
I loved her relationship with Dallas, and the two had great chemistry. The two are immediately pushed into the media world, and the stories get crazier and crazier. It was interesting to read how the media spins certain stories, and how the celebrity side of things can get out of hand.
I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't much of a relationship build up between the two sisters, Jackie and Maddie. It would have been more interesting if the readers were able to read more about the differences and similarities between the two twins. The story itself was a bit short, but I was pretty satisfied with how things turned out. In general, a great, fun, cute read, and I wouldn't mind reading a continuance with this story.

Would I recommend this book: Yes

Rating: I give this book a 4/5.

There is nothing shameful about Veronica Blade's FROM FAME TO SHAME. This feel-good romance had me rooting for the heroine all the way to the very end!

When Maddie's starlet twin sister Jackie calls her up on the edge of a nervous breakdown and begs her to save her from insanity, Maddie drops everything to rescue her. When Maddie shows up to whisk her sister away, she learns that Jackie intends for them to switch places for a while so she can get her head straight, but Maddie is a self-proclaimed "country girl" and wants no part of the glitzy and glamorous lifestyle Jackie lives. With the help of Jackie's trusty assistant, Stella, Maddie is transformed into her bad-girl twin overnight. There is just one problem: Jackie's hunky, movie star ex, Dallas, who live right next door! Distancing herself from the man proves to be a lot more difficult than she expected - he seems to be around every corner she turns and appears to have his sights set on Maddie.

This quick read, FROM FAME TO SHAME, was funny and sweet and sometimes made me cringe a little when Maddie found herself in awkward situations while impersonating her "bad-girl" twin. Though I really enjoyed the book, I found that I wanted to know more about Jackie. I really hope the author has a follow-up book in mind so we can get a taste of this bad-girl in Hollywood.

If you are looking for a fun quickie, this one should do the trick for you!

From Fame to Shame by Veronica Blade was a quick read with a fun premise and an adorable romance. I flew through it at lightning speed. It was a good read to just take my mind off of things.

Maddie and her twin sister do the ol' switcheroo and suddenly she's living this life of fame and glory. It has been done before, but it was still cute. I would have loved to see more fame drama. Sure, Maddie has to deal with some gross tabloids, and she has to walk the red carpet, but there's no major repercussions. Maddie's sister doesn't even get mad at her, really.

The characters were cute, but I didn't really connect to any of them. Maddie wasn't annoying, but she wasn't particularly appealing either. Dallas, on the other hand, was a total sweetie pie. AND HOTTIE. Who says chivalry is dead? Dallas will give you his coat when he's cold, and he'll cook you a scrumptious meal, and he'll do anything for his family. He may be a celebrity, but he's a seriously great guy. I also adored Stella. Even though she didn't appear a whole lot, she was still an interesting presence, helping Maddie pull off the switch and making sure she doesn't get into too much trouble. I couldn't get a very good grasp on Jackie. She's a main character, and yet she's not. She's always there, and yet she barely is. She seems nice enough, and pretty down to earth, though the way the other characters talked about her made her seem kind of bitchy and a complete party girl.

Overall, this is a quick contemporary with a light, yet steamy romancer and a satisfying ending. I wasn't a huge fan of the way the characters knew each other for about two days and were head over heels for each other, and I do wish there would have been just a bit more tension, but this is a book I would recommend to contemporary lovers.

This novel is a one shot really fast to read and fresh. Once again, Veronica Blade wins me over with her writing style so fluid and alive and her characters so easy to picture.

I have to thank the author who gave me a free e-copy of this novel.

One thing that I've got usually a hard time with is insta-love. Curiously, the chemistry between Maddie and Dallas works perfectly here. It's like it's believable between these two in this Hollywood atmosphere as crazy as we can imagine.

Speaking of the atmosphere, it's like everything is alive before my eyes when I read this novel. It's well-described and never takes over the real plot. The author never loses the hold of her characters and the plot and it's really important when the timeline in the story is so short - just a few days.

Maddie and Dallas sound real from their personality to their chemistry cute and totally hot even if not out of hands considering it's a YA book. I really loved to discover their little moments and to read how Veronica Blade conveys feelings and emotions through the descriptions.

In fact, I was so caught in this novel that I read it in a couple of hours. How can I resist to a fresh, light, cute and kind of hot read? It's just impossible.

Even if the end is too "fast" in the resolution and maybe lacks of some conflicts, I highly recommand this novel not long to read and that'll bring a smile to your face.

Now, I can't wait to discover what Veronica Blade will write about. Winches? Check. Vampires? Check. Werewolves? Check. Movie stars? Check. This author has an endless universe I love to delve into.

Veronica Blade is, hands down, one of the Queens of Sensually Sweet YA Romance. What does that mean? Ms. Blade has an enormous talent for weaving tales of innocent romance that is clean, sweet and not at all offensive in any way, shape or form. On the flip side, the way she creates the scenes and chemistry between her characters never fails to raise goosebumps of yearning upon my skin and make my heart ache at the beauty of great love.

From Fame to Shame is the delightful story of twin sisters. One, Jackie, a famous and well-known celebrity and the other, Maddie, a down-to-earth, people-shy girl. When things become overwhelming for Jackie, she begs Maddie to take her place for a couple of weeks - enough time to get out of the limelight and put her life back into perspective. Maddie has absolutely no desire to do this, but for the love of her sister, she caves and agrees, for her sister's sake.

Needless to say, Maddie is completely out of her element in this new life - from her elegant home to the media hungry press. Then, when things couldn't seem to get much crazier, she meets her major crush (and her sister's ex-boyfriend) Dallas. Will Dallas figure out what is going on? Or will things spiral out of control leaving broken hearts behind?

First, I have to say that Dallas is HOT! He is every woman's fantasy - gorgeous, sensitive, down-to-earth, fun, intelligent and he can sing (be still my pulsating heart). Maddy is endearing, sweet and a great match for Dallas. Together their chemistry steams from the pages. With added humor and smooth writing, From Fame to Shame is pure, entertaining delight. I truly cannot wait for more from Veronica Blade - she is one of my favorite authors and never ceases to wrap me tightly within her tales.

Maddie is the complete opposite of her twin sister, Jackie Bloom. Maddie rather would stay home and read while her, famous, actress sister would rather go out and party. When Maddie's sister begs her to come out to visit her, Maddie is somewhat suspicious. Jackie has always been fiercely independent and even became emancipated at sixteen. She only asks her parents for something if she desperately needs it.

Jackie confides in Maddie that she wants to get out of the spotlight. Dallas, her ex-boyfriend, broke up with her; she unknowingly dated a married man, and is being ridiculed in the tabloids. Jackie wants some R&R, especially since she is neighbors with her ex. Maddie agrees to switch places with Jackie, especially since Jackie has done that for her.

Maddie has to go to several events and photo shoots, but doesn't expect to run into her crush and sister's ex, Dallas. She's afraid that he'll be able to tell she is not her sister, but she can't stay away from him. It seems like he likes her, well her sister. Can she pretend to be with her sister and have her heart remain intact?

I'm always on the lookout for some good contemporary romances, but hardly find any that I actually want to pick up. I'm so glad I got this one. I loved Maddie's "relationship" with Dallas.

Dallas is definitely one of my fave guys in the contemporary books that I've read. He's sweet and saves "Jackie" from being embarrassed by steadying her before she falls after posing for cameras. I understood that Maddie was hesitant about not wanting to go out with him because of her sister.

This is definitely worth the read, especially when you need a little pick-me up. I definitely wish this was longer!

When Maddie gets a surprise phone call from her twin sister, Jackie (a teen star in Hollywood), her quiet life suddenly explodes. Turns out Jackie is having an emotional crisis and needs a break from tinseltown. Problem is, Jackie's under contract to do specific promotions for her latest movie and she can't get out of them or her career is ruined. Solution? A switcheroo with her identical twin, Maddie -- something they haven't done since they were kids. I mean, a few appearances, a movie premiere, how hard can that be? :)

Maddie is a small town girl and the thought of pretending to be a Hollywood glamour girl gives her heart palpitations. But her sister's not the kind of girl to ask for help. If Jackie needs Mads, of course she'll be there.

I loved the close and loyal relationship between the sisters. Even though the girls are opposites in many ways, they're tight and total family girls. Without giving too much away, I'll just say it was hilarious watching country-girl Mads try her best to strut the red carpet in five-inch heels while reporters thrust microphones in her face, asking for the latest gossip from bad-girl Jackie Bloom. And when Mads is around all the hot movie star studs? Well, even a good, down-to-earth girl has her fantasies. . . and her best dreams include Jackie's neighbor and ex, Dallas Bines, who is even more faint-worthy in person.

What's a small-town girl to do when she's suddenly thrust into a life in Hollyweird? Find out when you read From Fame to Shame by Veronica Blade. This book was so much fun, I didn't want it to end. Thank goodness there will be a sequel.

My review of Fame to Shame by
Veronica Blade

Rating 5*****

This novel was provided by the author free in exchange of honest literary review.

Jackie and Maddie are identical twins with bipolar opposite lives. Jackie lives in the world of Hollywood, under the scrutiny of the tabloids and news headlines. As one of the country's hottest starlets she lives a live little girls only dream of. Maddie on the other hand still lives at home with her parents. She prefers books to television, and enjoys her job as bookkeeper in the family jewelry store. At 18, both girls are just starting out in the world.
As Jackie enlist Maddie's help to switch lives for a few weeks, neither imagined the implications that arise....

My views ....
I fell in love with this story. I think every girl on some level wants to be like Jackie but in actuality is more like Maddie. I love Maddie's quirkiness, and shy awkward behavior! She can't walk in stilettos, and has a hard time talking to the press. The storyline is beautifully written and gives you a smile and sense of hope at the end. I loved it! Also, it's a quick and easy read that tells the story without skimping on details. I would highly recommend this book it's just pure fun!!!

I was given this book from the author in exchange for a honest review.
I loved this book was such a sweet and cute short read. I loved the plot of how twins switch places and one gets to experience what its like to be famous, and really gets to feel what it means to be in another persons shoes. Also you as the reader get to experience the big change it is from that of an average person experiencing the fame. In Maddie case its a big change because she is the totally opposite of her twin Jackie, who loves this life style that fame brings and the attention. So as Maddie acts as being Jackie to keep appearances for her; she kind of glad, she gets to experience what her twin does as an actress and even meets some of her celebrities, and even gets to meet her crush that happens to live right next door at her sister apartment.
I gave this book five stars because it was such a sweet cute read that made you experience what fame would be like through an average person and their is even a love story to tie it all together that made it so cute, that will read again and again.

Can we say great book? I do think so! Veronica Blade has again made me fall in love with a book, she never ceseases to amaze me when it comes to her writing and stories. This was not a paranormal book, which is my normal reading, but i fell in love with it just the same. An amazing story of the bonds of sisters and what lengths we will go to, to help them. The characters in this story, and please note it is a novella/short story length book, are very likable, the story very addicting, and it kept me up til about 4-5am reading it, because i just couldn't put it down. And i just have 2 words: Dallas = YUM!. I mean seriously, where can i get one of him? This book is just another example of why i love to read, and i look forward in anticipation with what Veronica will throw my way next! I recommend this book to basically anyone (girls mostly as it is a girly book) because i know you will love it as much as i did.

This is my first read from Veronica Blade and will not be my last! I always like the idea of twins switching places and Ms. Blade did an exceptional job with this story. I was hooked within the first chapter and refused to put this down till it was completed. I like Maddie right off the bat. She goes around al natural and in tennis shoes. Maddie is fun, sweet, kind and is trying not to like her sister's ex-boyfriend Dallas. It is fun to watch her help Jackie. Jackie is Maddie's complete opposite. Complete with five inch heals, makeup and the wardrobe to boot. Well sparks fly and you will have to see how things turn out for Dallas, Maddie and Jackie! I finished reading this well written story with a smile on my face. If you like Susan Hatler you will like Veronica Blade. I will be reading more from her because I loved this read. I would like Ms. Blade to write the other twin's story! This is a clean no sex read. It does contain a handful of swear words.

I always love when I stumble upon a good romance and this one totally did it for me!

After being begged by her twin sister, Maddie reluctantly fills in her sister's shoes as a famous star so Jackie can relax and get away from being in the lime light.

Of course, delicious Dallas, Jackie's ex and Maddie's crush, lives across the hall and he has taken a new liking to "Jackie." Maddie really struggles to keep her place as Jackie and in doing so, realizes just how hard it is to be famous (I totally wouldn't want to be famous).

I thought the romance between the two characters was wonderful. I will say that I wish the story had been longer. There's so many more places that the author could have taken this book.

That being said, overall I thought it was a great read and one that I definitely jumped into and had no problem staying engrossed in!

Two eighteen year old twins, one who is a homebody and one who is an actress. When Jackie needs a break from the limelight for a little while, she asks her sister Maddie to step in. Maddie isn't used to being in the spotlight, but she does it for her sister. What she doesn't plan on, is living across from the boy she's had a mega crush on for years, Jacki's ex-boyfriend, Dallas. He wants to re-kindle the flame he had with Jacki and Maddie's connecting on a level with him that her sister never did. But what will happen if she tells Dallas the truth?

A short story, only about a hundred and sixty-five pages or so, From Fame to Shame is a a great way to spend an evening or afternoon! With engaging characters, a sweet romance and well-written dialogue, From Fame to Shame is a great summer read for young adults or older! I devoured it in one sitting - it's just that good!

I absolutely loved this book!! I was already a huge fan of Veronica's books to begin with, but this book topped them all! The pacing was perfect, the characters were likable and relatable, and the story was fun and romantic. It's a novella, so it's not really long, and I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I don't read a lot of contemporary romance, so that's saying a lot!

In summary, in case you couldn't tell, I loved this book and I highly recommend it to fans of cute, contemporary romances :)

This was a fun, lighthearted, love and Hollywood adventure story. It surprised me how quickly I finished it, but reading on the kindle makes it hard to judge how long a book is when you first start it. I enjoyed how smoothly it was written and the fun situation of the twins changing places in a Cinderella type story, without the sister being wicked. There was nothing particularly new or surprising in the story, but when you are reading Cinderella love stories, new isn't what you are looking for anyway. The characters were interesting and believable and the story was a good, entertaining escape from daily life. Well done.

I loved the sarcasm and the romance! It really heated up with Maddie (disguised as Jackie) and Dallas. The most steamy story yet! Reminded me a lot of The Lying Game, but in a good way. I liked the whole switching it up twin thing. Not to mention the happy ending that followed :) I'm glad Jackie didn't live up to the selfish person I thought her to be. That would have rained on Maddie's parade. Yay for happy endings! :)

What a wonderful light romantic read. It has been years, and I mean years since the last time I’ve read a pure romance book. It is not my new favourite genre but I really enjoyed this book. Partly because it is like an old friend and partly because it has been such a long time since I last read a romance. What can I tell you about the story? It is well written, fun and predictable, in short the perfect romance book.
Thus the 5 * review rating.

While I was skeptical because this story sounded like one of those stories that are overdone, I was happy suprised with it. This story is fresh and fun. While it is very short, it leaves you wanting more. The characters are awesome and with only 116 pages, there is a relaistic love formed. Great read!
