They're back! John Murphy is famous for his weird and wacky sock creatures. In this follow-up to Stupid Sock Creatures, John shares the spotlight with guest designers in 20 projects that push the boundaries of stupid with crazy-cute quadrupeds, two-headed beasts, pop-eyed monsters, and more. The wide range of difficulty--from a simple one-sock monster to a four-sock extravaganza--means this book will attract all levels and types of crafter. And thanks to John's clear and humorous instructions, absolutely nothing is intimidating. Well, except for Piethagorus. But don't worry, he only eats pie (we think)!
Truly a masterpiece, on par with the original "Stupid Sock Creatures" and building upon its' originality and creativity with each new design. Heartily recommended for artists and craftspeople, old and young!
Read this directly after reading the author's first book, Stupid Sock Creatures, and it is as good as the first. The author is the curator of other's who have contributed new creatures for this book and some are quite creative, indeed! This book contains more detailed tips for things like fashioning eyes and lips. The writing is clear and clever, the illustrations both instructive and interesting. Pure fun.
Creatively hilarious. Everyone needs at least one of these sock monsters. I intend to make several, since I have two drawers full of mismatched socks to empty out. This sequel to Murphy's first book includes two headed critters as well as some with fins for swimming. Despite the skillet on the front cover, though, the author has not provided any cooking advice or recipes for fried or stewed sock critters.🤭
