5 stars. A beautifully written fic in which Sam and Dean wake up to a world devoid of humanity. They set off on a roadtrip to see if there is anybody left alive. So many quotes but I went with this one:
'Somewhere in Sam there was still a little boy that looked to Dean to fix everything, and somewhere in Dean – much, much closer to the surface – was a big brother who desperately wanted to. He missed the world, too, already. It wasn’t a chick-flick moment if chick flicks no longer really existed.'

I was unable to write anything about this fic the first time around - I don't know why I thought it would go better if I reread it one year later.
I don't know, guys, it's just one of the best Supernatural fanfics I've ever read. Possibly one of the best fanfics I've ever read, period.
The way this author describes emotion, any sort of emotion, just makes me physically choke on my feelings. Also it's sexy as all get-out, but that's secondary, in a way, because it all stems from a depth of understanding of these two characters and their relationship that blows my mind.
The premise of the story has been done before, but it was new to me personally, so I found that incredibly intriguing. The fact that it's also so puzzling and mysterious adds to the appeal of this fic, because it sort of narrows down the focus to just Sam and Dean and their... everything. And I can work with that. I can totally work with that.
It's intelligent, it's warm, it's panicky, and it's calm. It's just fucking brilliant.

And a strange feeling of a silent satisfaction left at the end...

It had taken him awhile, after the whole thing was over, to realize that it hadn't been the possibility of being alone that had driven him to run from street to street, screaming in terror. It was the possibility of a world without Dean.This was an interesting read, one I'm left not entirely sure how I feel about. Certainly good, although it took a little while for me to get into. There were some great lines
Sooner or later, like always, they only had each other.and I'm glad I read it, but I'm also glad to be done with it.

Bibbidi bobbidi boo now I'm a crying disaster.
I want to build a fucking religion based on this fic. Wait, wait, not just a mere fic, but the fcking Gospel!
I don't even want to praise it because nothing would ever be enough.
The only negative thing about this is the fact that in being the first wincest I've read, it ruins every other ones for me. Skyrocketed my expectations. Oh, and also the tears. That's pretty bad, too.

So it didn't get much better, but I finally finished it. Well, I got to the last page. Can't say I read all that was written up to the last page, though. After the 50% mark, I started mostly skimming. I think I read about 30% of the last 50%. Despite skimming most of it, it was still more of the same, plus a few awkward sex scenes. On the whole I think it could have been so much better. As it was, the entire story could have been wrapped up in 20 pages.

Great writing and world building - I enjoyed this freebie but I am left with some pretty big questions and no answers.

Enjoy the story but these characters don't strike me as Sam and Dean from supernatural.

I have always wanted an actual book of this it is that good.
