Luca - a young boy who longs for love and attention from his widower father Roberto who is preoccupied with work and his secret new girlfriend Veronica.

After meeting and getting to accept Veronica while the 3 are on holiday, Luca then persuades his father to go on a skiing holiday with him alone to catch "The Last Snows of Spring".

Whilst skiing Luca collapses and is diagnosed with Leaukemia and only a very short time left to live. His Father is racked with guilt of the neglect of his son and does his best to make it up to Luca before he dies.

This is my all time favourite book. I loved the story. It had me in tears for hours, so much so, I couldn't turn the page from crying. Having said that, it is not a depressing sad book. Just a good story told well.
