Fifteen-year-old Willow Mosby's life, as she knows it, ends the moment she walks through the shelter's door. Willow has to quickly adapt to the new challenges that shelter life demands, the least of which includes making new friends and working a full time job.

Soon after making an interesting discovery, Willow and her friends start exhibiting strange abilities. Seeking answers, they embark on a mission to find out what these new abilities mean and whether they are a gift or a curse.

This new adventure can send her world crashing down around her. The question is: Can Willow survive the fall?

I thought this book showed a lot of promise in the beginning.

Unfortunately that promise disappeared after a few pages.

Willow (main character)-
At first I thought her emotions were right on target. She seemed very real and believable in the start. However after a few pages it was evident that she was very superficial. . She seemed much more interested in boys and the moments when she would get 'teary eyed' were laughable. It was always, 'I began to think about my mom and brother but then I toughened up and went on with my day'. That was the extent of her concern for them.

Willow's dad-
He kind of disappears when they enter the shelter. However, he does seem to be there providing all the answers as Willow asks them. All of a sudden Willow would ask a question about Project ELE or the virus and her dad would know everything about it and explain it to her. How did he know all of this? It seemed a really poor way to provide the reader with information.

What really got me was the lack of conflict. In the beginning it was really dramatic. After that though, the story consisted of making out with boys and Willow's photographic memory. This story had no depth. The characters were annoying and fake. I kept saying, 'Okay, now they're going to get to a part that brings a conflict that needs to be solved'. It never happened.

Perhaps I could have finished the book even with the lack of plot, but I couldn't because the characters were just horrible.

I only recommend this book to people wanting a teenage make-out story, with no real plot, and annoying and fake characters.

WARNING- CONTAINS SPOILERS UP TO PAGE 88

I absolutely despised this book (or at least the part I tortured myself by reading). I couldn't finish it, but what I did read was probably the epitome of horrible self-publishing (it WAS self-published, right? =0 ). For starters, the punctuation was kinda random, like the authors were sitting in a room somewhere, twiddling their thumbs and saying, "Oh, hey! I haven't seen my old buddy semicolon in a while! Let's just stick him in here!" or "Ugh, commas are SO last season. This sentence deserves better!". I mean, I know what I read was a digital copy and sometimes there are mistakes, but errors of this level are just unacceptable to esteemed readers like ourselves. Even if I am making a mountain out of a mole hill (I can be, shall we say, a grammar cop of sorts...), I still don't quite know if I was reading the same book as some other reviewers. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but mine seems to vary. A LOT. I guess that's what I get for downloading a free young adult novel. I've never met one I liked. This one, I have to admit, had a good idea behind it. I mean, wacky virus taking out most of the dystopian world? Freaky patches put up to fix the devastated ozone layer? AWESOME! But sadly, no. Good idea, horrible execution. Wordbuilding was practically nonexistent, the characters were flat, and the main character doesn't have a unique voice. Unless annoying counts. Which it doesn't. But this isn't even the worst part (I know, shocking!). I stopped reading (Gasp! What a concept!) on page 88 because of something completely atrocious. According to the authors, your Achilles heel is now in your armpit. I kid you not. I understand poetic license, and I'm actually quite a big fan myself. But renaming my body parts? There's honestly not a toddler in the world who could make an anatomic mistake that large. And thank you very much, but I like my heel, well... not in my armpit. There's something called a line, peoples. And crossing it can't be a good idea.

Farewell for now, fellow Goodreaders,

~Lexie

*I later came to the conclusion that I shouldn't write reviews on no sleep. I failed to comprehend that what I believed to be an atrocity of human anatomy was, in fact, a metaphor. (Face-palm). But I still refuse to finish the book.

Cover looks good.. :)

I definitely prefer this series to the Nightmarcher series.

I would like to thank the authors for offering me a copy of this.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is very original and unique. It is not something I generally read about which made the plot more intriguing,

Willow is your average teen trying to survive in a world where there is known to be a deadly virus. After her family is called to be tested before entering the 'Dome' where safety is promised, her Brother sebastian fails the test and is said to be affected by the mysterious virus. Her mother and brother leave and her dad and Willow enter the dome.
But not everything is as it seems. Willow makes new friends Connor, Claire and Alec-her boss and her first boyfriend and soon their world begins to change as they each develop a power or in Willow's case powers and nothing will remain the same again.

I LOVED ALEC, HE WAS SO CUTE.

I’m curious too so I begin to break the seal on the envelope. Inside is a small index-type card. Scrawled in black pen it says:
Willow, will you be my girlfriend? Check one:
⧠yes
⧠no
⧠maybe
Love, Alec

I however, was thinking more along the lines of..

This definitley had my attention and was I admit, better than I though it would be, the description does not do it justice it is better than you think.
It surprised me in a good way, I suppose it is faire to say I kinda loved it.

The ending sure had me begging for the next installment.
But I wished it ended with the group strolling the 'outside' venturing into the unknown and plotting their next steps. But this ending does kinda have that cliffhanger edginess ensuring you look out for the next book.

I was given this book in return for an honest review. The basic overview is that a virus is killing everyone, over half the planet has perished. The government has built shelters, you have to pass inspection and get an imunization before entering. The government plans on heating up the earth to kill the virus and anyone outside of the shelters will most likely die. Willow and her family are on their way in, infortunately her baby brother tests positive for the virus and will have to stay outside along with her mother. Willow and her father go on alone. Inside is everything to meet your basic needs, the kids work part time and go to school part time and the adults work full time. All communication from the leaders to the people, appts, work schedules, free days, etc)are on tablets that everyone has to carry with them at all times. Willow makes friends with Conner, Claire and Alec. They all soon discover that the rich rule the roost. Zack and his crew of rich brats don't have to work, have fantastic quarters and are mean as can be. Willow and her friends find a secret cavern while exploring and make it their special hangout. Everyone has settled into a routine when the kids start exhibiting special abilities, Willow more so than the others. Zack knows and he has them too. Pretty soon there is double crossing and the kids will find out that there is more going on in the shelter than could ever imagine and their only hope is to escape or become lab rats. The ending is a fantastic suprise and leaves the book open for a sequel. I loved this book. I started reading and couldn't put the book down. The characters are well developed and the story has a great flow. There are no dull moments in the book, even when it is desdribing day to day activities, the author has made everything interesting. Fantastic job. I want more and can't wait for the next book that I am sure will be coming. WaAr

I’m not sure how I feel about this book. It feels incredibly juvenile. Yes, it is written from the POV of a sheltered 16 year old girl, but other YA books have managed to do the same thing while coming off more… I don’t know.. polished I guess?

I think that if I didn't read as much as I do, I would have enjoyed this book more. Let me explain… because I read so much (several books a week) I know what it feels like to have a really good book suck you in and make you feel part of it. A book that, if you manage to put down, you do nothing but think about the characters until you can pick it back up again. While the story did keep me mildly entertained,(there were some parts where I had to force myself to keep reading rather than giving up on the book completely) it did not grab my attention and allow my mind to escape into that world.

I do like the premise, but everything else felt a bit lacking. There isn't much character depth, the world building leaves a lot to be desired and the dialog is stiff.

It kills me to start a series and not finish it, even when they are bad. I’m giving this series one more book to win me over before I call it quits on the ELE Series.

Have you ever read a book that at the end you go "Damn that was awesome"? Well this is one of those books. It is like Hunger Games meets Resident evil, just minus all the killing. :) This is only the second book like this that I have read. I haven't read too many books that are in the Dystopian/Apocalyptic genre. When I read the plot I thought that this will be interesting. Once I dived into the book, What I noticed about the writing was that you can't tell that two people wrote this book. I have read a few books in the past where you could instantly tell when the writing style changes. In this book the authors are is such sync that the writing flows seamlessly.

Like most Apocalyptic stories this one is about a virus that is killing people and only select few get to go to the shelters. There is more to it. Not only do you have to make sure you don't get sick but something else is happening. Willow and her friends start to exhibit strange abilities. Where do this abilities come from? It could be the water that they all swam in. It also could be vaccines that they had to get before entering the shelter. You wonder what is really causing this especially when someone high up in the anarchy wants to get their hands on Willow. Out of all the kids with abilities she is different. I think that she is the key to what ever experiment they have going on. For those who didn't make it into the shelter because they didn't pass the test, they have to go through what I call the Matrix choice. They have to choose Yellow or Red. One will let the person live but the other will be instant death. The shot that lets them live has effects on them as well.

Life in the shelter isn't all bad. I mean you are inside where it is cool and you don't have to worry about contracting the virus. Willow makes some friends with Conner and Claire. They get jobs together as Runners. She even falls in love for the first time. With all that she still seems unhappy at times. I know her life hasn't gone quite like she wanted but if it were me I would be happy just to be out of the 100 degree scorching Sun. I have to admit I like Willow. She is not a meek character. She doesn't wallow in self pity even though she is unhappy about the current situation. She takes charge and tends to jump before really thinking. I like this about her, she makes everything interesting.

The authors do a great job with teasing you in this book. You aren't given all the info up front. You learn bits and pieces as you go along. This is a great way to keep the reader entertained. Leaves you wanting more. I was pulled into the story from the beginning and found that I had to force myself to put it down. The book isn't sunshine and rainbows. It has a sad side to it. That is evident in Chapter 2 of the book. That is all I will say. The story does end in a cliffhanger. It's a good one that will leave you going "WTH?". Now I can't wait till the next one is released. I'm not a patient woman. :)

My overall thought of this book was that I will be adding more books like this one to my reading list. It seems that Dystopian/Apocalyptic books are taking over and I can see why. I truly enjoyed reading this one and look forward to more like it in the future.

I received this book courtesy of the authors in exchange for an honest review.

Twenty-six pages into this book I was already crying my heart out. Thanks to the authors’ remarkable writing, I got attached to Willow and her family in a span of only a few pages. You’re probably wondering why I cried while reading the second chapter of this book, right? Well, all I can tell you is that no parent should be expected to make such a choice as the one Willow’s parents had to make.

I’m still new to post-apocalyptic novels, but this book smacked my reader curiosity spot on. “Project ELE” fits perfectly into the end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it category, and the plot intrigued me from the start. Reading about our world in a time where the sun is burning the earth to a crisp through the holes in the ozone layer, isn’t too far from the truth, and it forces you to consider the horrific possibility of trying to survive in such a devastating climate. The authors took this scenario and put a few interesting twists on it, creating the F.E.M.A shelter in a dying world, but with a plethora of new possibilities within the safety of the shelter where Willow and her friends attempt to adjust to a new way of life as well as their newfound powers.

The shelter Willow and her friends had to move to in order to survive, really captured my imagination. Living inside a mountain for months on end, with only a few of the amenities found in today’s world, secret underground locations discovered by her and her posse, and their developing paranormal abilities, kept my interest throughout the book. A bunch of twists leading up to a shocking, cliffhanger ending, has me excited to read the next book in this series.

“Project ELE” is an intensely unique and enjoyable read. It captures the imagination and invites the reader to explore a post-apocalyptic setting with a multitude of secrets, discoveries and a good dose of betrayal. Think scientific experiments, mostly likeable but also some creepy characters, paranormal abilities, hidden passageways and caverns deep inside a mountain; and then throw into the mix a fat helping of action, suspense, and romance, and you’re onto a winner. A must-read for paranormal romance fans of all ages!

Major cliff-hanger.

In order to kill the virus that's been affecting the people in the world, it has been decided to remove the patches in the atmosphere that would lead to the heating of the Earth. People had to move to shelters. But not everyone could gain access to the F.E.M.A. shelters. Willow Mosby's life changed when she walked through its doors. Having entered together with her father, with her mother and brother behind and outside the protection of the shelter, she then started her new life. She eventually found new friends and a boy that made her feel butterflies in her stomach.

However, to their surprise, Willow and her friends learned that they had abilities out of the natural. They embarked on the mission of finding how, when, and why they started exhibiting these powers and came up with mysteries about the implementation of Project ELE and faced people who were more than willing to break them.

What actually made me like this book enough that I gave it 4 stars was the ending but I'm going to talk about that later. For now, let's talk about the characters. Willow isn't that impressive of a heroine that she would outshine all those kick-ass heroines out there. Nonetheless, I have to give her credit for her awesome ability or abilities (I have a guess as to what the real deal is regarding her powers), how she felt real enough for me, how brave she was, and how she was with Alec.

She felt real enough because she wasn't perfect all the way. There were times when she was acting stupid, made the wrong decisions, kept secret that we all know would bite her in the ass in the end, felt frustrated, fell in love, among others. To add, she was also very brave and determined and those characteristics were manifested on how she made her way to her friends in order to help them after being captured.

Now, on to Alec. Can he ask me to be his girlfriend instead? Haha. Anyways, I love him. Enough said.

I liked how Willow and Alec didn't immediately jump each other's bones. There was this tension between the two of them that they decided to explore and I'm happy that they did. I just really hope they do end up together.

The other characters, like Connor and Claire, were an interesting mix into the story.

As to the pace of the story, I felt like most of it was spent in telling how Willow was adapting and adjusting to her new settlement. It showed us the progress of her relationship with her friends and with Alec. It was okay but it would have been also nice if the thrill didn't come so late. When they discovered their powers, it was already past halfway through the story. But, good thing was the authors were able to compensate as they made the succeeding events really tension-packed and exciting.

So, about the ending: For the love of all that's holy, I want Book Two because trust me, the ending would put you on edge. Cliff-hangers always give me this uncomfortable, restless feeling and the cliff-hanger in this book, yeah, it made me blink and wonder where in the world was the continuation.

In general, Project ELE is enjoyable. It was interesting enough to keep me reading through the midnight hours. I finished it after one session of reading. Of course, I would recommend this to anyone who'd want a dystopian book with an adorable touch of chick-lit romance.

By the way, I was indirectly given this ebook by the author and through a GoodReads group in exchange for an honest review. I'm grateful for the opportunity.

Review of Project ELE by Rebecca Gober and Courtney Nuckles

Reviewed for Books4Tomorrow Facebook Event, ending September 9 2012. Ebook copy provided via Books4Tomorrow.
5 Stars +

I so totally enjoyed this most riveting and likable dystopian novel that I want to give it 16 or 18 stars. This is in the “champion class” of Dystopian sub-genre, and here’s why:
Like every “good” dystopian, there’s plausibility (yes, Virginia, our reality could experience something exactly like this or very similar); it’s near-futuristic (yes, Virginia, our grandchildren, children, even our generation, could experience this); it’s peopled with characters ranging the gamut of human attitude and experience.

Like the “best” dystopian, it doesn’t leave us depressed, gasping for breath to overcome despair. No, “Project ELE” (despite the terribly horrific meaning of its title) sings of hope, of faith-of trust and of love, of survival and of the will to overcome, not just to exist but to live. It even has an anti-bullying platform theme (yes, who would think in advance that bullies would be worrisome when the world is about to end? Well, most of us might not, but our very imaginative authors sure did!) This novel plucked the strings of all my fears about global warming, pandemic plague, and certain governmental agencies and policies-and I loved it! I absolutely gloried in this novel! Can’t wait to push everything aside and go read it again!

Disclaimer: I received a free e-book copy of this book from the authors in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely LOVED this book! It pulled me in from the beginning, and I would've read it all in one sitting if I hadn't started it so late in the evening and needed sleep!! Still, I finished it the next day, and I desperately need the next one. I laughed, I cried, I thought back to how I felt during my first "real" relationship, and I pondered what I would do if I had to deal with the types of things that Willow and her friends see on a daily basis. I honestly don't think I could, and that's what pulled me into the story so much: The fact that these teenagers are having to live through this world, losing their family members to a virus, or having to leave them on the outside while they survive in this shelter. The relationships, whether just friends or otherwise, are exactly how I remember my teenage relationships (friendly, kinda awkward, but definitely "real" and "true", as much as they can be at that age), and I can't wait to see how they continue into the next book!!!

5 stars all the way!! =)

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Willow and her family have been waiting on line to get inside a shelter that will protect them from the high sun temperatures and a virus that killed thousands. When their numbers are finally called they have to pass some testss before getting inside and not all of them manage to. With her family being torn apart and everything quickly changing around her, Willow has no choice but to adapt fast at her new surrounding, her new friends, her new life. With the help of her friends she will discover a secret cave inside the shelter, a cave that seems to give them powers. In the search for tha truth they will face dangers they never expected and once again their lifes will be changed forever.

Willow was a worthy companion through out this story. She was stubborn, loyal and most impoetantly curious. I love it when characters act all Nacny Drew. Then there is Alec, the love interest, he is perfect boyfriend material. He was sweet and caring and had green eyes, what more do you need to love him? Connor and Claire were the two best friends. Connor I loved, he was funny and could always lighten the mood. Claire on the other hand not so much. She seemed a bit bipolar to me. She started out quiet and shy and then ended up having a few not so Claire like moments. I get that she may grow but she made a few 180 turns in the book.

Another thing I enjoyed about this book is the life inside the shelter. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't want to live there because even though it was better than outside it was still a prison. A very high tech, luxurious prison, but a prison nonetheless. I loved the Runner job Willow and her friends had and the tablet that you always had to carry with you, the assemblies and the crazy Doctor in charge of everything.

This story was a great start to the series and had a killer, cliffhanger for an ending. Despite some editing mistakes I spotted it was great. Also even though it's Dystopian it wasn't that hardcore as I am used to by other Dystopian books. All in all I can't wait for the next one.

I had many high hopes for this book when I read the reviews. It seemed like a perfect book for me. But the many grammar errors in this book made it lose much of its luster. And I had the revised version, I am sure of it, because it has the revised version cover.

The first thing I did not like about this story was, as stated above, the spelling and grammar errors. At one point, I had to giggle when I read this sentence:
Excitement coerces through me when we reach our cave.
(In case you missed it: coerce means to force somebody. It should be course.)

But that was not the only spelling/grammar mistake that had me groaning. There were almost never question marks after questions, and commas were repeatedly left out, making it confusing to read the story. I'm not being an English teacher here; I wouldn't care, but I like reading my story without being confused as to what the heck that sentence was supposed to mean. Even people who may not care about grammar in stories can find this annoying.

I also wasn't a big fan of all the gushy names. Alec and Zach almost always called Willow sugar, baby, honey, etc. I just wanted them to call her by her actual name for once; a few times is cute, but if you never call her by her real name, it gets annoying.

And, the romance was cheesy. Sorry. Claire and Connor weren't too bad, but in every other scene Willow and Alec are making out and Alec is saying something like, 'I am so glad you didn't die because I can't imagine life without you in it.' That's paraphrased; it sounded worse when I read it.

Also, at the beginning it seems like Willow is this kick-butt, Maximum Ride-ish heroine. Nope. She has her moments, but at most parts I saw her as being rather weak.

There were things I liked, of course. The ending was amazing. The beginning was too. It was the main part that I hated.

The big question is, will I read the next book in the series? I don't know that myself; with that ending I may just have to. Let's hope it's edited this time, though!

I received this book from the author to give an honest review.

WOW! Where do I start? First let me say I have never been disappointed with the books I have read from these authors. Every book they write makes me want to read more from them.

That being said do you guys have book 2 available already? Because I am very anxious to read what is going to happen next, the ending made me want more. I was kind of sad that the book ended so quickly, I guess I should have slowed down my reading. :)

Project ELE will keep you turning page after page just to see what will happen next. In Project ELE you will encounter characters that you will fall in love with. There is Willow who is in a shelter with her father and had to leave behind her mother and brother. While there she meets other teenagers around her age and befriends them. Claire who is very shy but starts opening up when Willow starts to talk to her. Then there is Connor who Willow had met outside of the shelter, but gets to know him better in the shelter. Then there is Alec who starts off as Willow's boss but then it turns into something else. As Willow, Claire, Connor, and Alec adjust to their new lives in the shelter they discover there is more going on than meets the eye.

I do have to say I absolutely LOVED the way the authors made Willow's brother I just fell in love with the little guy, and even though he is a character in a book. I wanted to give him hugs and kisses because he was written to be so darn cute. I wanted to cry when the unthinkable happened.

If you enjoy anything to do with the paranormal and people that have powers then I highly suggest you give this book a try it is a perfect read for YA and adults.

This wasn't a completely terrible book. It had an interesting premise, and there were some nice world building touches that I quite liked. However, I still had to rate this book as average, for a few different reasons.

Grammar mistakes. Spelling mistakes. They were plentiful. I've only downloaded the book from Amazon recently, so as far as I know those errors are still there. If as an author you can't catch all the errors yourself, that's fine, but I would suggest the help of a paid editor. Even a knowledgable friend or two. Because for someone like me, it puts me off reading the rest of the series when I keep being shoved out of the book by glaring mistakes.

Also, as much as I wanted to I couldn't relate to Willow. She loses half her family early on, but for all that she's upset at the time it happens, she barely mentions it afterward. It's like she doesn't care, because she rarely worries about what her mother and brother are going through. I would be beside myself.

I must say, though, that the love interest, as well as her friends, were nicely rounded out. I enjoyed reading about them, and I loved that Willow's love interest wasn't a complete jerk, like so many YA boys seem to be anymore. I actually rated this book one star higher than I would have otherwise on the basis of her friends and her boyfriend alone.

However, I still can't bring myself to care enough to read any other books from this series. If the authors can get a handle on their mistakes, I'd be willing to give it more of a try. But until then, I'm afraid I'm done with this series, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you are capable of being a very forgiving reader. I, apparently, am not.

I received this book from the author for a review. I also review for Loves All Things Books and left this review on their page as well.

At first I was afraid I wouldn't like this story, the first two chapters didn't grab my attention and I thought awe man...but after that things picked up and the characters grabbed ahold of me and pulled me along for a fun-filled and emotional ride. All in all, I love Project ELE!

In Project ELE there is a virus killing the earth's population and the UN has pulled down the patches to increase the earth's temperature in hopes of killing the virus. Families are standing in line for days hoping and praying that they are healthy enough to be admitted inside the F.E.M.A. shelter to be protected from the deadly temperatures. Strange things begin happening to Willow and her friends and not everyone can be trusted.

Project ELE
By Courtney Nuckels & Rebecca Gober

Extended description from Smashwords
"Millions have already died, and thousands more are perishing daily. As a last ditch effort to preserve the human race, the government implements Project ELE. With the earth heating at rapid speeds, all remaining survivors are forced to turn to F.E.M.A. shelters to wait out ELE's wrath.
Fifteen-year-old Willow Mosby's life, as she knows it, ends the moment she walks through the shelter's door. Willow has to quickly adapt to the new challenges that shelter life demands, which includes making new friends and working a full time job.
Soon after making an interesting discovery, Willow and her friends start exhibiting strange abilities. Seeking answers, they embark on a mission to find out what these new abilities mean and whether they are a gift or a curse.
This new adventure can send her world crashing down around her. The question is: Can Willow survive the fall?"

We start the story with Willow, her brother, mother, and father waiting to be admitted into the F.E.M.A. shelter, having to leave their home because of the incredible heat and inability to access resources to survive outside of the shelter. I quickly came to love Willow. She is a savvy, bright young woman who after experiencing incredible emotional hardship picks herself up and tries to be kind others and just get through the day with a little hope. She soon befriends several others and they become close. These four young people stick together and explore, discovering secrets, and gaining new abilities, as well as and insidious plot. There is wonderful character and world building and I could actually see the story in my imagination. I loved the characters and their interaction with each other. The bad guys are the kind you love to hate and the heroes are made of the stuff that makes you cheer them on to beat the baddies at their game. We have a new twist on the dystopian read with a taste of a little something different and surprises that leave you hungry for more. I loved this book and cannot wait until book two is out and will be at the front of the line to get it. Definitely recommend this read to fans of the genre and hey if you are new to dystopian give Project ELE a shot it is worth it.
I requested this book from the author to read and review and it was provided to me with a request for my honest opinion without any compensation whatsoever, other than the joy of reading a new book.

Where do I start? I’ll start by saying some of the reviews for this book are crazy. I’ve come to realize that a lot of people who read reviews instantly disregard five star reviews. As they for some reason believe the review comes from the author’s family and friends. So I no longer give them out, unless the book is perfect in every way shape and form. This was not perfect; there were a few things that had me shaking my head. for instance with two authors I would have thought they would have caught that they used the word wine instead of whine. But honestly I didn’t really care; the story was that good.

As a self-published author myself I recognize that without the backing of a major publishing house it is hard to afford the luxuries those author’s receive; like an amazing cover designer, an editor and well . . . financial backing. Don’t get me wrong those authors work hard and they deserve it. But you often spend a lot more money on their books then you do on an indie author’s book so while all these other reviews are harsh (I’m talking about the amazon reviews) I actually really enjoyed this book. (I like the cover too)

Let me start the actual review by saying that I don’t generally read these kinds of books, but I recently connected with a blogger who has recommended a few books lately that I have found completely out of my genre and yet I loved them.

This book is perfect for all ages really. I generally prefer the more adult side of Romances. Yes if look at my reviews I am a sucker for a good vamp novel ;) anyways continuing, this book is so interesting and I have to admit that I finished it only a few minutes ago I’m writing this review and I’ve purchased the second book because I have to know what happens!

I won’t say a whole lot because I truly believe if you like the apocalyptic style novels you will enjoy this one. The human race is succumbing to a virus, F.E.M.A steps in there’s a whole separation of those who carry the virus and those whose blood is clean. The story follows a teenage girl and her friends as they try to rebuild their lives in a new place—i.e the shelter. Ok I really won’t say anymore there are twist in the plot I did not see coming and at the end some things click while others open up all new questions. I can’t wait to get started on the second book.

On a side note if by some chance the authors read this, all I want to say is the book was so good, I hope that the negativity other put out there never deters you from this series or any other writings! Bravo.

This book was given to me by the authors for review.

This story follows Willow, the main character, and her friends, Alec, Claire, and Connor, in an "end of days" era. Now, don't go running for the hills yet. I know a lot of people don't really enjoy reading books in that genre, but trust me, you NEED to read this series! When you hear apocalypse or end of days your brain automatically goes to zombies, or weird vampire hybrid zombies. This is not the case with this series. Yes, there is a virus, but it's not a zombie-eating-your-flesh virus. This is just a really painful, crappy way to die. Who wants that? No one! So, in swoops the "government" to fix the problem. They create "shelters" to house some of the people who have survived the super virus, depending on whether or not they pass a few tests to get in. Some are approved entry and some are denied entry. Think of it as a mix between the movies "2012" (with the ships that "everyone" goes in to survive the flood) and "The Crazies" (with the testing to determine if they get to leave the city or not). Very good, very suspenseful, very fun!

I laughed, I cried, my heart raced with the suspense.

What I love most about this book is that it's fast paced, but not so fast that you can't keep up with what's going on and who the supporting characters are. It's a bit of a who-done-it mixed in with a bit of conspiracy. You really just get such a great mix of so many different genres that there is something for everyone. And while this is a Young Adult series, it is really just an all ages (well, children under 10 probably wouldn't care less, I mean boys do have cooties you know - YUCK!) book. Teenagers can relate to the characters, they'll be able to read Willow's thoughts and think to themselves, "I know exactly what she means!" Adults will read the story and think, "I remember that..."

But do you know what the best part is about this book? I couldn't guess what was going to happen next. Generally, when reading, or even watching a movie, at some point I can figure out what's going to happen next and how the story will end. Not with this. Great job, ladies!

Grab a copy, it's not expensive, it won't break the bank if it's not your cup of tea. But, what if it is, and you miss out?

I received this book from the author for an honest review. The world as we know it is ending. A new disease runs rampant that started as a cure for everything from a common cold to cancer. It turns into a deadly disease that has scientist and the governments making the decision to take some of the healthy people underground and other safe place to live for 3 years while they heat the earth up in hopes up killing the disease. Willow and her father are among those chosen to go. She goes to classes and works her job. Everyone has to work or go to school unless you are rich. She soon learns not everything is as it seems and soon begins to see changes in her self and others.

We all have read those books were we say just one more chapter. Well this isn't one of those books. I started this book and the next thing I knew I was hitting the next page button and there wasn't a next page. I looked and I had finished it never looking up till it was over. I look at the clock and it's 3 in the morning. Yeah it's that kind of book. My first thought is WOW this book is amazing. My next thought is NO I need the next one now. The book started out breaking my heart and I won't say why. As it progresses the action never stops. When they get underground Willow along with Alec, Connor and Claire make their way discovery everything they can on their days off. The chemistry between Willow and Alec is so adorable I love them. Claire and Connor make their own mark with you and none of them you soon forget. When they start discovery things they shouldn't know about and have stuff happen to them that shouldn't you can't help but feel your right there with them. This book is amazingly written from the plot, the characters just the whole thing is a favorite of mine now. The ending will leave you begging for more. If you want a futurist book with a paranormal twist that you can't put down this is for you.

The book starts off with fifteen year old Willow waiting in a huge line with her family. Why? To be screened to see if they eligible to get into a shelter. Willow lives in a post-apocalyptic world which came from a “virus brought forth from a cure”. In trying to rid the world of disease they brought forth a super virus that has been killing people off at an alarming rate. Life as they knew it stopped, children were home schooled and people were afraid to leave their homes. The government implemented Project Ele, which is raising the temperature of the earth to exceedingly dangerous degrees in hopes that it will kill off the virus. The shelters were set up to protect human life, but you have to be healthy with no latent disease in you, and you have to pass rigourous screening to be let inside. Once inside the screening, Willow learns that her and her father are accepted…but the rest of the family is not. With her family torn apart, Willow enters the shelter. Inside life is totally different. Forced to work, Willow meets many kids inside that she connects with, one being her boss. Connor, Claire, and Alec become Willow’s rocks. Together the four of them decide to explore theirselves out of their boredom, finding WAY more than they baragained for. This book is filled with emotion, suspense, action, and a good dose of unique paranormal. I read this book in a day and was SO thankful that I already had book two in my hands. The cliffhanger at the end will have you begging for more. I’m not gonna say much more because I dont want to spoil it. Lets just say that I was suprised at the way the book turned out and that I have found a new pair of authors to love. The small grammatical errors did not detract from the story in my opinion. The book is just too good to care…and this is coming from an editor!

I know the average review is 1 to 5 stars but I have to say I give this book 10 stars!! I loved it! I'm usually not one to read Apocalyptic style books, but I found this one to be surprisingly good and such an amazing read!!! :)))) I cant say enough how much I loved it! So this story is about survial and love and heartbreak and amazing friendships! Ths story is told from the view point of Willow, a 15 year old girl who has spent most of her life being homeschooled because of a virus thats killing off the human race. They are forced into a FEMA shelter so that they can survive while the earth heats up. Once inside this shelter Willow makes some new friends who help make her life so much more bearable. She also finds love! Who doesnt like a story which has a wonderfully love story inside? I know I do!! Willow and her new found friends find ways to keep themselves amused, and entertained. Along their journey inside the shelter there are bumps and twists and turns that will leave you wanting more! I love a good story that keeps me on my toes and keeps me guessing and this has it!! During the first few chapters your taken on an emotional roller coaster as you get to know the characters. These wonderful authors bring it! Right from the beginning you cant help but feel for Willow and hurt for her as she is forced to deal with something so heartbreaking it had me reaching for tissue!! :) I promise you will laugh, you will cry, and you will scream!!! I know I did. The end brings with it the need for more! I know I cant wait for book number 2!!! :) I'm so glad I read this and tried something new! If you take the time to read this book you wont be disappointed!!! 10 stars!!!!

I have read a number of post apocalyptic books, and I always find them quite disturbing when I think about the fact that it could actually happen; though hopefully not in my life time! The major incident that brought about the need for project ELE, was not a war or an unknown super plague, but a manmade virus that was the result of a ‘cure all’ that scientists had produced. It really isn’t so far fetched either with human beings intolerance of illnesses these days, even the common cold is seen as a major inconvenience and something we feel the need to treat!

Our MC, Willow is a teenage girl, she and her father are some of the lucky ones who were offered a place in one of the few shelters set up to save humanity from the deadly outbreak. They have to adjust to a new way of life in the underground facility that is to be their home for the next three years. Things settle down quickly and soon Willow makes friends with a few kids her own age. Like normal teenagers the group like to explore but when they suddenly start to display unusual abilities, like becoming invisible and mind reading they realise that something more is going on in this place.

Project ELE is a steady paced book, some areas dragged but on the whole it was an interesting novel. I found the writing to be fluent and comfortable. The characters were fully developed and the dialogue was natural, it was an easy read. I was frustrated by the ending because it left us at a point where we met up with a character we had separated from early in the story whose fate I had been curious about, but the book ended before any answers were given, I hate cliff-hangers! I’m now going to have to wait for book two, I hope I don’t have too long.

Well I definitely did not get much sleep last night. Wondering why? It’s because I could not stop reading Project ELE! This book was absolutely amazing and definitely a must read for anyone that likes a good book.

Co-authors Rebecca Gober and Courtney Nuckles wasted no time at all getting my hooked. Within 20 minutes of reading, I was already reaching for the tissues.

Project ELE is an apocolyptic book that introduces us to 15 year-old Willow Mosby. There has been an outbreak of a virus that is killing off the human race and the only way to eliminate it is by heating up the earth to unbearable conditions. They have set up shelters for the healthy to stay during this process, so this will be Willow’s new home. She leads a rather boring existence at first, but soon she is able to make friends and even find love.

The new rules she has to abide by are pretty strict, but once she settles into a routine of work and school she is able to make some time for fun and adventures.

After being in the shelter for awhile, strange things begin to happen. Is this only happening to her? Why isn’t it happening to everyone? And just what exactly is up with her eye? How is she going to handle it if outsiders start to notice? Willow has a lot ahead of her, will she be able to survive it?

I would say out of 5 stars, I would give Project ELE atleast 10. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, I was basically on an emotional roller coaster for the duration of the book. Once I got to the last page, all I wanted was more. Rebecca and Courtney leave you with a cliffhanger for sure. I will definitely be following up with the sequel later this year to find out what happens.

Project ELE is a page turner. We meet Willow who is in a shelter with her father and her younger brother and mother. I immediately fell in love with her younger brother because he just sounded so adorable. What happens next is a family’s worst nightmare. Willow, her father and mother all receive and accepted stamp on their passports but her younger brother does not, so the family decides that Willow and her father would go inside and they mother and brother would remain outside and hope for the family to be re-united in 3 years after the project is over. I can say that the author did an amazing job at character creation because I so wanted to scoop Sebastian up and run off with him to protect him from the evil nurses and government officials. The same can be said for all the characters they all seem so very life-like.

The story continues with Connor and Claire and Alec meeting Willow and becoming close friends. They start to adjust to their new lives in the shelter and then they discover that strange and unusual things are going on in what is there new home.

If you like stories where the characters start getting paranormal powers and a bit of a mystery of who is behind it you will love the story.

The only thing I didn’t like was how the book ended. I thought it was a bit abrupt of an ending. I do recommend this book for YA and Adult readers alike.

I was given a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is the first installment to the ELE Series.
A virus hit, killing millions, and the government attempts to save what is left of the human race by setting up Project ELE into place. The remaining survivors are forced to leave their homes, some even their families, and stay in FEMA shelters.
Willow's world comes crashing down on her as soon as her families numbers are called. Forced adapt to her new way of living, she makes a few friends, starts school, and working. If life in the shelter isn't strange enough, her and her friends start have strange powers. Now they have to learn what is going on to them without anyone finding out. Who know what would happen if the wrong people found out what they could do.

Loved this book! It kept me interested from beginning to end with all the suspense. Very well written and the characters are amazing. The ending left me with and OMG feeling. I can't wait for the next installment. I am desperately wanting more, I can't wait to see what happens next. A must read!!!

I normally read paranormal books, but I was given the chance to read this in exchange for an honest review and since books are my drug (Hi my name is Shona and I AM a book addict)I jumped at the chance. I knew nothing of the plot, but I have heard the phrase ELE(Extinction Level Event)before so had a brief idea of what I might expect. From the first chapter I knew this was a book I could enjoy, by the end of the book I am on the verge of stalking the writers to find out where/when I can get the next instalment.

The book begins with Willow and her family (mother, father and younger brother) hoping they will be granted entry into the shelter that promises to save those not infected with the virus that threatens to wipe out the rest of the world. Before they can be accepted they must undergo some tests. Its at this point that Willow's family falls apart.

Inside the shelter, Willow soon finds herself a small group of friends in Connor, Claire and Alec, and in an effort to stave off the boredom they go exploring the mountain and its tunnels. Its these adventures that lead to Willow discovering all is not what it seems.

I received this book in exchange for a honest review ~WaAr~

I can honestly say that this is one of the best books I have read in years!! It is action packed, with romance, sadness, and adventure. It is a great dystopian book! You will love this! I am floored, I just couldn't put this book down for the life of me, then it leaves you on a cliff hanger. This is one of the books that will have your mind reeling trying to go over the information again. Their is twists that I didn't see coming.

The book opens and tells of of a disease that sweep the world. Scientists have made a type of vaccine for those that haven't contracted it. They also have a serum that will kill you instantly for those that have. Willow and her family wait in line to go in the shelter awaiting their new life without having to be exposed to this disease. Will all her family make it? Willow is just a teen that when she enters the shelter is alone, but after a while befriends Alec, Conner, and Claire. They start noticing things happening to them. What is happening? How did it happen? Will Willow be able to handle it? Who is behind it?? I give this a BIG 5 STAR!!! Can't wait to read the next book!!!!
