Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin (W.i.t.c.h.) are five ordinary friends with an extraordinary secret: they each have the power to control a natural element-air, water, fire, earth, and finally, the mysterious "Heart of Candracar." The girls use their powers to guard against evil and to uncover the truth behind mysterious portals leading to other worlds. Between school, family, and a new interest in boys, these girls had enough to worry about! But now they have the secret to turn into a group of friends with special powers . . . destined to fight the evil Prince Phobos in the magic world of Metamoor. W.i.t.c.h. combines fashion and fantasy, magic and middle school, heroism and humor, friendship and family, teamwork and transformation, in a wholesome mix proven to charm the tween girl market. Introducing a hybrid format that combines four-color comics with a traditional chapter book format.

I know that these books are kids books so I’m technically too old for them, but they’re just so enjoyable and comforting to read!! I love the characters in this series so much and each book in the series is so fast paced.

I hope that this series gets a live action remake someday. Maybe something like Fate: The Winx Saga but with better and more complex CGI.

Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

I really need to stop re-reading the books from my childhood.

I always used to love W.I.T.C.H., it was my entire childhood. I always wanted to be Cornelia, always used to pretend I had the powers of the girls and it was a fun time. I collected all of these books when I was younger and managed to find this one, tucked away in one of my book boxes. For nostalgia's sake, I decided to give it a read.

I'm. Disappointed. Not in the book itself, the book is still a good read, a good plot line, good characters. The writing is... weak. Obviously written towards children, rather than older teenagers. The feeling of nostalgia is still there.

So why am I disappointed?

Because it wasn't the same. It wasn't the same magical story I knew as a child. I've grown up. The characters I all loved are still here but the spark isn't anymore. It's still such a good book, but it's just not the same. I enjoyed reading it again, I enjoyed going over my memories, quoting parts of the book that I remembered but I miss reading it for the first time when I was only about 7-9 years old. The entire magic that surrounded the WITCH universe was absolutely amazing, especially to a child as young as I was.

If you have a young child, I'm sure this book would be amazing for them to read, a younger brother or sister might really enjoy your old copy of this, but I wouldn't re-read it if I were you. It's not for the elder generation that grew up on WITCH. Keep your memories of it, keep it special to you; don't re-read them and become disappointed like I did.

I love the books and the television series.....EVEN THOUGH I only watch the episodes on YouTube (darn you television for canceling WITCH!). I hope everyone who loves fantasy and is a girl would read this book. It is pure awesomeness. What are you waiting for still reading this? Go to your local library and read this book NOW!

Finding Meridian WITCH 3
Plot: Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin try to work out their powers. After escaping a near collision in the basement of Elyon's house with the help of the Heart of Candracar and their powers combined they open the mysterious book Hay Lin found and discover the Seal of Phoebus. Again the Guardians unite and with the heart, they're able to disintegrate the Seal. Led back to Elyon's house in search of clues they come upon a portal and a tunnel that leads them to Meridian. In Meridian, they come face to face with a group of foes and an unlikely friend (or is she)?

MY THOUGHTS
CHARACTERS:
* (WILL) As each book progresses Will's leadership ability gets stronger She's growing into her powers and the more she does the more confident she becomes. As this book is for young readers Will is a good role model for girls. As a character, she's easily relatable to because other than seeing the supernatural side we see her struggle with adapting to the changes in her life (ex with her new friends, new environment, and acceptance of her mother dating).
*(CORNELIA) Even though Cornelia is probably the most self-centered character and she tends to be the most in doubt of her powers, in Finding Meridian we see that in the heat of battle she proves herself to be a force on her own and when combing with her friends. As a character, Cornelia's loyalty is constantly shown in the W.I.T.C.H series.
*(TARANEE) I like as a character because even though she's probably the timidest of W.I.T.C.H she proves that you should never underestimate the most understated character. Taranee's power is BOLD and so is her nature when she transforms.
(STORY)
* Hungry (thinking of Will's bread and chocolate spread)
*Sympathy for Will. (It can't be easy at her age to have just lost her father to a divorce and then see her mother out with another man. This combined with all the other changes going on in her life (with trying to close the portals, new school, and trying to figure out her magic).
*A little bit of Cornelia's disbelief (Does the Heart always come through)
*Suspicion (What's Elyon up too)
*Question (Was the Seal Of Phoebus really destroyed?)
* Interested to read more about Elyon and Meridian

So I've been taking a stroll down memory lane by re-reading these books which were my favorite books when I was 10 - 13.

The first book was about the five girls meeting each other for the first time and discovering they were magical. The second book was kind of filler-ish and it didn't feel like anything new really happened, although I enjoyed the hilarity of Irma turning her crush into a toad.

But finally in this book we start to get some real action (with still just enough questions left unanswered to keep you wanting to read the next book). It starts out pretty normally, with the girls meeting up to practice their powers together on Sunday. The story continues with Will having trouble with math class and her teacher offering to help; only, Irma doesn't trust the math teacher's intentions and thinks the math teacher must secretly be a monster from the evil world Metamoor.

After that a lot of things happen very quickly. There are mysterious books with no text on the inside, journeys through portals, and the girls finally discover where Elyon is. They try to take her back to Earth, but she doesn't want to leave.

I may not love these books as much as I did at 10 - 13 years old but it's been fun to take this nice rewind to childhood. I already can't wait to see what happens next.

As I wait for another book to come in the mail I Ann continueingnronread one of my childhood favorite series.

I still enjoy these books as much as I did then and I still adore the quirky Hay-Lin and the dorky Taranee. Watching all 5 girls discover their powers is just so entertaining and I'm looking forward to starting book 4.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

You would expect the book to go by quickly, but there are times you need to re-read it to get the full grasp of what's being said. The language is choppy, the presentation is so-so (several misspoken cliches), and it is just a little TOO fantastic.

I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.

I am giving this a high ranking in stars because it takes me back to when I first read it and even though I am sure there is so much wrong with it. Like teenagers complaining about having magic, and so on I just enjoyed it.

This was an amazing re-read, I love the adventure's that this group of girls go on. It was so interesting and brilliant to read about the development of the girls and how they learn about them selves. It was very enjoyable and very fantastic read.

I used to really like "W.I.T.C.H.". But it seemed to go on forever. It was like 'the book series that would never end'. I stopped at about Book #19 and didn't look back.

I love witch, the friendships that they made. Just after they have got the idea of having there powers they discover Meridian and without problems begin to flow throught the series.

Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin....
Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)

We are slowly feeling like the girls are progressing in their quest. They are sensing more things and travelling more places.

They have questions about if every creature from metamoor is bad and if their friend Elyon is actually a part of metamoor.

Excited for what the next book has to bring.

Even if I read after I book, skipping the second one of the series, it still revealed all lost puzzles and continued that magical connection with the story!
