We Follow the Rules is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.8 and Literacy.L.K.1. Large color photographs of school-related activities such as students in a classroom, teacher-student interaction in a playroom, and chalk-board demonstrations along with narrative nonfiction text demonstrate the behaviors that are considered polite and courteous in a school environment. This book should be paired with “Our Classroom Rules” (978144888692) from the Rosen Common Core Readers Program to provide the alternative point of view on the same topic.
