The hunt for a missing woman Leads them to each other.

Once he sees Aspen Stevens in action though, he discovers that she’s as capable as she is gorgeous. As lies and raging water swirl around them, they have no choice but to trust each other—while resisting an off-limits attraction…

Most recently, Danica was the winner of the Paranormal Romance Guild’s Paranormal Romantic Suspense Book of the Year Award and Chanticleer Media’s Paranormal Book of the Year for her novel Montana Mustangs. When she’s not working, she can be found in the wilds of Montana testing her patience while she tries to understand the allure of various crafts (quilting, pottery, and painting are not her thing). She always believes the cup is neither half full nor half empty, but it better be filled with wine.
Oh Lawdy this book, haha. Yes I'm about to tear into it a little because of all the utterly stupid shit contained within, but honestly I'm going to have to give it five stars because it was so much *fun* to read. I rate books on the blast factor, so no matter how dumb they are if I had a blast it's all good.
Aspen and Leo are quite possibly the worst people to conduct a search for a missing woman. They are unprofessional, skeevy slags, the pair of em.
It's day one, they uncover vital evidence in the woods which strongly suggests their missing person was murdered, and within hours they are sneaking off a mere 30 paces from the rest of the team to have dirty sex in the underbrush. Having sex during an active search, with a person you barely know, within earshot of your entire team, is PEAK trashyness. I felt nothing but disgust for these two. How disgusting and disrespectful to the missing woman whose hysterical, weeping, devastated parents they had calmed down a few hours before. Nothing gets you in the mood like grieving parents and an active search for a dead body.
When one of Aspen's team mates confronts her about how unprofessional it is to have sex in the woods during an active search, she starts screeching at him 'you're just jealous because I'm not having sex with you in the woods!' and then Leo punches him. We are supposed to be cheering this?
While they are off trying to have sex in the bushes, the vital evidence is taken from Leo's bag, thus breaking the chain of evidence. This is enough to get any future murder case thrown out of course. Leo is utterly incompetent.
During interviews with key witnesses these two are off in their heads thinking about sex. At one point, literally during an interview concerning a possibly murdered woman, Aspen is thinking 'phwooor I want to lick his body and ride him like the stallion he is'. Again, I am disgusted.
Leo loses vital evidence again while chasing after his dog.
During the major sex scene in the woods she (dear god I can't believe I'm typing this) howls at the moon. Actually howls at the moon while riding his dick. The cringe is very real.
After knowing Leo for less than 48 hours, Aspen says something to the effect of 'our hearts and souls are in synch now... we are one'. I threw up all over my own hands at that bit.
Soooo much trashy, sleezy, ridiculous shenanigans going on. But it was a fun fun fun adventure, the mystery plot kept me hooked even if I happened to think Aspen and Leo were kind of skanky.
I really liked Swiftwater Enemies. This is an exciting series. Book #2 was almost the same as book #1 except for Characters and rescue methods. I really liked Aspen and Leo's chemistry. Another surprising ending with plenty of action and intrigue. Looking forward to continuing with this series.
I give Swiftwater Enemies 4 stars for its action packed ride. I would recommend this book to fans of Intrigue.
This book was a fun read. The chemistry between Aspen and Leo was simmering. Leo didn’t like Aspen at first. She was a first responder in her town. He didn’t care for new comers trying to tell him how to do his job. He did find out quickly she knew her job, and how to do it. They did end up working good as a team. This book had lots of suspense, and a little action. Reading this book was a great way to spend a few hours.
This was another slow to get into, Intriguing romance . This was another Goodwill store buy and they are not cheap anymore there. This has a bit of action and a little romance. This is not for the under 18 readers because of sexual content and I've given it a 4.5* rating The story was interesting. There were several possible bad guys but I didn't see this ending coming. Sorry this took so long. Major computer problems.
Animosity started between these two but they soon came to an understanding. Aspen was hired by the family to find their lost daughter. Leo knows the odds of her being found alive are slim. Things come to a head and the mystery is solved.
Great story and quick pace. I was able to read in one sitting.
A fun and exciting novel about a missing person search-and-rescue. The descriptions of the landscape made me want to go camping in the woods! It was a fast-paced novel that made for a quick and entertaining read. Not to heavy or graphic, just a fun mystery with a few spicy scenes. It was perfect to take on our vacation!
This was a great next entry in the Big Sky Search and Rescue series, which is a romantic suspense series. I read it one seating, because I wanted to know how it would all end. This can be read as a standalone. This had great action and romance.
Come il libro precedente, la parte suspense non è male, ma non sono convinta del tutto su quella romance: i due protagonisti sono sembrati subito come due animali in calore, agendo anche poco professionalmente a mio parere.
This book is much better than the first book in the series. However, I still disliked the main characters for most of the book - about 3/4 of the way through the characters became semi-likeable. The mystery was interesting and the work by the SAR team was quite interesting and detailed.
Danica Winters once again delivers a fantastic, action-paced read. The character development and research behind the adventures pull me in every time. Thanks, Ms. Winters, for a fabulous read.
