Read my interview with Larissa Ione all about this book and a few peaks into the next one here
4.5 Stars

Aylin had gotten under his skin, and for all his experience fighting enemies, he had no defense against a female whose strength humbled him, whose voice soothed him, and whose touch drove him wild.

This book just reminded me all over again why I'm such a big fan of Larissa Ione's writing. If I had any doubts about this new series after finishing Bound by Night, I don't have a doubt in sight after reading this. As a matter of fact, I'm hooked, line and sinker, and cannot wait for the next one.

Chained by Night is a sexy, action packed read that you are not going to want to miss out on.

If you've read any of Ione's other series, then you know this one is a bit different, but in a very unique way. You get vampires but with a whole different Native American lore twist. While you can technically read this as a standalone, I'd highly recommend your start with book one as the story progresses throughout the series, and you really get a better grasp on the world building and the lore in Bound by Night.

As the clan chief of MoonBound and 2nd generation vampire, I just knew Hunter will be a force to be reckoned with...and he definitely was.

To keep his enemies at bay, he has agreed to mate a rival clan leader’s daughter in return for peace between the clans and an ally in the looming war with the humans. Too bad that the rival clan is ruthless, bloodthirsty, and his destined mate is one uber bitch, Rasha. But Rasha also happens to have an identical twin sister, that is the polar opposite of everything she is. Aylin is is sweet and caring, but also cursed. Born with a deformity and as the cursed second twin, the best her fate has to offer is a mating to a clan leader known for his brutality that far surpasses her own sadistic father.
She was an impossible combination of wary and unguarded, as if she didn't trust others but wanted them to trust her. Her spirit seemed desperate to burst from her with an explosion of energy, but something was holding her back. She reminded him of a bird with clipped wings or a wolf on a chain, wanting to be free but unable to make it happen.

The one thing I truly love about Ione's writing, is she can take even the most damaged heroine, but make her fierce in a perfectly understated way.

Hunter faces more than a mating he doesn't desire to a woman that turns his blood cold. He also faces an ancient curse that can only be broken by facing a challenge of 3 tests that is also foreseen to cost him his life. Add to that his undeniable pull to his mate's twin sister, and you got yourself some entertaining reading.
Screw the challenge and the danger and the demon.
He had a feeling that Aylin was the true menace to his future.

I found this book to be much quicker paced and more action packed than the previous one, and I devoured it in practically one sitting. The sexual chemistry and connection between Aylin and Hunter was practically palpable. I just couldn't seem to put this book down. You really get to see Aylin grow into a fierce warrior and a force to be reckoned with of her own as the story progresses. The impending war between humans and vampires continues to progress with new discoveries and twists and turns.

I loved pretty much everything about this book, ESPECIALLY the parts with Myne. There are some revelations about his connection with Hunter here that I never saw coming. It completely blindsided me and I am absolutely dying to get my hands on his book (which luckily will be next.)

Chained by Night had it all; a fantastic heroine, a fierce, possessive, protective and sexy as hell hero, scorching sexual chemistry, fantastic world building, action and romance. What else could you possibly want? This was everything I love about PNR and I cannot wait for more from this series.

Hunter and Aylin

Forever. Sounded like way too damned long to Hunter.

Hunter does not want to be mated. As a second generation vampire, a born vampire and the leader of the MoonBound Clan, he is obliged to be mated to one of the daughters of the ShadowSpawn Clan’s leader. More accurately he has to mate the first-born, Rasha. Since the two girls are twins, the first-born is only slightly older than the second-born i.e. insignificant Aylin. And this is a good thing, he guesses, because the second daughter is repulsively ugly and weak WHILE the first daughter is extremely good-looking and a warrior.
Of course Hunter has met Rasha before. But he did not like her.
And he has never met Aylin before. But he already feels sorry for her.

Then, Hunter and Aylin meet and he realizes that he has a major problem:

“Keep doing that.” His voice was a guttural rasp he could barely hear over the sound of his pulse drumming in his ears. “Harder. Suck me harder.”

Hunter is not supposed to want the other sister. Aylin is not supposed to follow him to the demon realm to help him during his trials and save his future-not-yet-born child and any vampire who talks to the animals should not be welcome at any vampire clan.
But still these things will happen.

Aylin with her crooked right leg, just before she mates with disgusting and brutal Tseeveyo for the good of her clan, she will decide to have her revolt. She will be proven worthy and she will start demanding everything that she deserves including Hunter.

It is hard to describe this book: Vampires with Native American origins with their totem animals, poachers, demons, mythical creatures (pterodactyl-bear things etc.), a mystic vampire army, a war between vampires and humans ready to start, prophecies, betrayals, pleasure and pain, enemies and lovers.

This is definitely an action-packed, fast-paced book. The world that was described in book 1 becomes more complicated and some interesting characters could really have their own book and their own story to tell, such as Myne.

I absolutely loved Hunter and Aylin in this book. They had chemistry and complement each other.

"You’re strong, Aylin, and it’s your strength that saved me. Saved us both."

Aylin is one of my favorite characters in PNR. She is ready to sacrifice herself and her dreams for the man that she loves and she never regrets it. Her character develops and is revealed while the story proceeds.
Hunter is a man of honor and he suffers greatly when he has to destroy his feelings for the good of his clan. Thankfully, he always makes the correct choice.

I liked the romance part of the book very much even though I felt like I have already read that love story a few times before. The rest of the plot though, not so much, and in some ways it was predictable, but entertaining.

I don´t really like the world that this series is based on, it doesn't attract me and it seems way more fitting to werewolves than vampires.
In this particular book, the fact that she introduced the demon realm and the challenges through me off a little, that part just didn't match the rest of the universe and reminded me too much to another of her books: Reaver.

I really liked Aylin and Hunter, they were a good combo.

It was nice to see how Aylin WOKE UP once she was outside her clan's bubble. I think that was a good analogy to real life, sometimes we need some perspective from the outside to really be able to see; we can be so absorbed by our own worlds that we fail to see other options and possibilities, even our true potential.

I wasn't a fan of Hunter's daddy issues, they are kind of pointless.

I wanted to hate Rasha but couldn´t; she loves her sister, in her own way, but she does love her, so I can´t hate her. However I do think that she is a bitch and a bad person and I certainly don't like her. However, I liked her character very much. I liked that she wasn't evil but a result of her upbringing. It is easier when we know what someone really is, black or white, it's easier to dismiss a character completely that way if we know they are no good. Instead Rasha have both good and bad qualities in her, which makes it more confusing for our emotions and minds to form a clear idea about what we think about her, and I applaud Larissa Ione for it, yay grey areas!

Overall, I liked this book more than the first one, it's an entertaining read and a good romance, but not memorable, just one more paranormal romance book. Larissa Ione´s series Demonica and Lord of Deliverance are brilliant though.

I really really don't know where to start so I guess I won't.
I only know that for all I could remember, this could be the only book, that gave me goosebumps when I received it, ever. I was soooo thrilled.
There were ups and downs, moments when I thought with a bit disappointment, "What???", or, "Eeeew...", or "Drat, after I was hoping so much..."
But, after going through more than a half book, things were starting to get interesting. At least for me. And as I finished the book, I knew I just can't wait to read the next book. Which I'm 100% sure it's about Myne! Please, please, come ASAP!

Vampires, heaps of action and forbidden love.
I absolutely, freaking, LOVED IT!

The second book in Larissa Ione’s MoonBound Clan Vampire series totally blew me away. Her vampire world is cleverly tied in with Native American mythology, and provides a spin on the usual paranormal setting with vampires constantly hunted by humans and living their lives in hiding. But the mythology and the politics between the different vampire clans brings a whole heap of danger, intrigue and action, and it is fantastic! Add to that the fantastic characters and a forbidden yet heart-pounding romance and it’s all win!

This book tells the story of MoonBound Clan Chief, and second-generation vampire, Hunter (excuse me while I shudder with excitement just at the mention of his name because he just. that. awesome). Events in the last book, Bound by Night, and the ever-present quest for peace see him betrothed to the daughter of a rival clan. Rasha is a bitch from hell but in order to protect the delicate alliance between the two clans and protect his people like the responsible leader that he is, he is bound to mate her. Travelling with Rasha to MoonBound in preparation for the mating is her identical twin sister, Aylin… and you can see where this is going already, can’t you!!

Aylin is the second-born twin, which means she is looked down upon by everybody in her father’s clan. Add to that, that she was born with a birth defect which has partially crippled one of her legs, and she has lived a torturous life being constantly shunned, ridiculed and downtrodden. But from the moment she encounters the MoonBound clan, and it’s sexy, powerful and deadly Chief, she experiences an awakening of sorts (firstly one of the sexual variety *wink*), and she quickly starts to gain confidence as she is surrounded by people who treat her like she actually belongs and provide her with a sense of equality for the first time in her life. I love Aylin! After all that she has been through, she just deals and carries on, but when given the opportunity to prove her strength, she is absolutely sensational!

And that chance comes when Hunter must endure a series of three life-or-death challenges in order to break an ancient curse, with Aylin accompanying him. Larissa Ione’s imagination runs wild as Hunter and Aylin face brutal tests which had me on the edge of my seat and prove just how fierce these two are. And the underlying sexual tension zinging between them just adds to the excitement and makes it all so much more intense.

“I want you, Aylin,” he growled. “I want you so bad I can’t think straight…” He ground his hard cock against her ass and smiled when she let out an erotic, encouraging growl. “That is why I didn’t want you to touch me. I want you, but I can’t have you.”

And when it’s all over, they have to face the fact that they have fallen for each other. But with the future of MoonBound Clan dependent upon Hunter’s mating Rasha, and with Aylin betrothed to an even more menacing Clan leader, the consequences of acting on their feelings could mean death to them all.

Screw the challenge and the danger and the demon.
He had a feeling that Aylin was the true menace to his future.

Once again, Larissa has taken us on a wild ride into paranormal world. I cannot get enough of this woman’s writing - the Demonica series remains my favourite PNR of all time, and while this series is completely separate from the Demonica world, with a very different feeling, the awesomeness is definitely there. And I thought this book was even better than the first in the series – but make sure that you read Bound by Night so that you understand the set up of it all.

Hunter and Aylin are fantastic characters, and their connection is undeniable from the very start. They are absolutely electric together! I loved every moment of their journey, but there is so much more to the story with some big reveals, a number of other stories hinted at, and the battle between humans and vampires ramps up big time! Something big is building for Myne, and I am hoping for his story soon!

First page to last, I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for more.

5 stars.

4.5 stars!

Wow! I really enjoyed the first book in the series, BOUND by NIGHT, but I loved this one! Hunter is one hot alpha male and Aylin is a remarkable, strong heroine with spunk and sass. I was rooting for them from the beginning. Ms. Ione’s take on the vampire genre is intriguing and unique, her world-building fantastic, and her characters have depth and … well, character! Great read!

Ohhhh... I was soooo right!!! :)

This one was as good as the previous one!

I loved the heroine Aylin as much as I loved Nicole in the Bound by Night!

As she's a birth defect that makes her lame, I was expecting a needy damisel in distress, but since the very beginning I realized that she's anything but! And, obviously, I loved her!

She's been demeaned by everybody (scums, the last of them!!!) in her clan. She's been starved and looked upon as a tainted one, but she's so quietly strong that I couldn't do anything else but admire her!

Her sister, Rasha, a strong warrior in her own, is a pampered, spoilt woman who think that everthing is owned to her because she's the first born. But, even if I didn't liked her, I see in some of her actions that she still, in her own twisted way, loved her twin.

Hunter, the hero, is bethroted to Rasha, even if he knows that she's insufferable, but for the good of his clan he's ready to mate with her. He's a honorable man, a good man, fighting his violent nature and trying to manage his clan not with violence, as all the other clans are doing, but with intelligence and justice.

Hunter is a great (and hot!) hero, a second generation vampire chief, a pure America Native. But still, for me, the very star of this novel was Aylin!

And excellent world building, an interesting lore, a destined love: it's all here! Excellently told by Ms. Ione!

I'm soooo looking forward to the next one!!!

Another great book by Larissa Ione! I didn't enjoy the previous book that much, but Chained by Night was wonderful.

Hunter was just great, I love how loyal he is to his clan, and how he stood up for Aylin. But I must say Aylin stole the show for me. She is just an amazing character, and it was wonderful seeing her realise just how strong she really is despite her disability.

The romance between Hunter and Aylin was passionate and intense, and I rooted for them to have their HEA.

I'm really enjoying this series, and I can't wait to read the next books.
I do so hope that Myne will be next, as I have a very soft spot for him.

Hmm... Not sure how to rate this. Around 3-4 stars.

It took me a while to finish it. And not because it wasn't awesome, but because after years and dozens of vampire and paranormal books, it's hard to start a new series and for it to keep me interested. Yes, there is the unmistakable Ione writing style that I ADORE, with all her wit, passion, badass characters, great world-building and kick ass scenes, and there are new spins to the vampire myths, but I can't help myself from comparing this with the others big series (I know, I'm repeating myself). It feels like Lords of the Underworld (ie. the human enemy) meets Midnight Breed (ie. the way the vampire compound is organized and the relationships between the warriors). The romantic part seems too familiar too.

That being said, I'll keep reading the next books lol. They're my drug of choice anyway.

P.S. Why does it always have to be the 3rd book the tortured hero one? *sigh*

4 1/2 stars. Heart the hero and heroine in this so much. Loved the bond they formed through adversity- even if it was in a demon realm which is sorta familiar, but still works for me.

Srsly. So good, but too long a wait. Wish it was longer too. (Not that it was short just didnt want to leave their world.)

I want real romances like these -not just 50 Rip Off Shades of 50 Shades of Gray stories like are getting cranked out now.

CHAINED BY NIGHT is the 2nd book in the MoonBound Clan Vampire series by one of my favorite PNR authors and since reading the 1st book Bound By Night https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... earlier this year I have been eagerly waiting for Hunter’s story. Leader of the MoonBound Clan….
 photo 9f89cc94-2f2f-4a77-893c-20aaa9b74419_zps1c3f1853.jpg
I was not disappointed……..what a fabulous follow up to the amazing and original , dark and sensual world that Larissa Ione has created.

The last book ended with Hunter, one of the few first pure second generation vampires (with a bit of Native American thrown in…
“There’s an old Cheyenne saying about how, when a man is as wise as a serpent, he can afford to be as harmless as a dove.”
and a bit of demon too…..) agreeing to mate the evil Rasha, daughter of the rival ShadowSpawn’s clan so that he could protect his clan and keep the peace between the rival vampire clans.

He will sacrifice his happiness for his clan’s survival – even marrying someone he despises. No two sisters could be so different. Rasha, the Evil twin, strong warrior and father’s favorite and Aylin, second born, abused and tortured all her life by her family and clan because of her leg deformity is seen as a weak to be ignored vampire that no man wants. But MoonBound does something to her…we begin to see the real Aylin…strong, intelligent, caring, loyal, loving and a true warrior. I loved seeing her bloom…
 photo 0dd37ada-dd40-4c6c-b6cb-5a46708df8fb_zps050671ad.jpg

But when he meets Rasha’s twin sister, Ailyn, he instantly feels drawn to her. There’s an immediate and powerful connection between them photo Kiss_of_the_damned_zps27d254b3.jpg and as he gets to know her, the more difficult it is for him to keep his word of mating with Rasha, who he despises more each day as she shows her true colors.

To break a demonic curse Hunter and Aylin who has volunteered in Rasha’s place…no this evil one does not do anything for anyone…..will have to cross over to a demon realm and complete three deadly tests.
“Aylin had gotten under his skin, and for all his experience fighting enemies, he had no defense against a female whose strength humbled him, whose voice soothed him, and whose touch drove him wild.”
Soon they give in to the undeniable sexual chemistry for each other and Hunter must now find a way to be with the woman he really loves without betraying his clan.
 photo tumblr_m7le6ixcGj1rup27ho1_500_large_zps141c931d.jpg

Giving us insights and revelations of the characters …ones we know from previous book…my favorites Riker and Nicole, who feature quite a bit in this book….and new characters that I feel we will get more of in the next books.

One of my favorite scenes…..when Hunter teaches Aylin to play video games………….
“...but sometimes mindless entertainment was a release of its own. Most important, mindless entertainment didn’t come with complications.”
Action packed, fast paced and so well written, the author has created yet another world that is just as exciting and erotic as her Demonica series.

I hope we get book #3 soon……….

Mon avis en Français

My English review

ARC Review: 4.5 Stars

I am thrilled to say that I loved this book! This is exactly what I’m looking for in a PNR.

1) This story features an honor-bound hero willing to sacrifice for his happiness for the security of his clan 2) a woman who, due to a physical disability, has been underestimated and abused most of her life. She blossoms under these circumstances. 3) There is serious tension between the clans and with humans whose prejudices are being riled.

Hunter has made a bargain to wed a rival clan’s princess. She has a reputation for being a bitch, and she is. Accompanying her to the nuptials is her twin sister, Aylin. Aylin is born with a deformed leg and has been treated worse than a second-class citizen within her clan. Because of this, she has had to learn to hone her other capabilities and she is a survivor. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Aylin ends up on a Quest with Hunter, where Aylin shows her fortitude, intelligence, courage and loyalty. Hunter is drawn to her light:

But Aylin had gotten under his skin, and for all his experience fighting enemies, he had no defense against a female whose strength humbled him, whose voice soothed him, and whose touch drove him wild.

I love an underdog story and watching Aylin’s overcome her past and shine is pure pleasure. Seeing how she stands up and wins the hero makes me feels like all is right in the world. Unfortunately, this all takes place in a world where the vampires are up against an increasingly prejudiced and paranoid human population. They are outnumbered and outgunned. A confrontation is looming in the horizon.

There are great secondary characters. The bad guys are really bad and the good guys are complicated: Rasha, Samult, Myne, and Baddon. These folks have many layers and I’m looking forward to future books to see how the author takes us down to the core.

Because this is a Larissa Ione book, you know that there is going to be great sexual tension and intense interaction between the hero and heroine. However, this story is also a prime example of a great balance of romance and dramatic adventure. The relationship plays well into the suspense enhancing, not distracting from, the storyline.

IN A NUTSHELL:
I loved this story. I recommend this story. I look forward to re-reading this story (something I rarely do).

Thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review

I enjoyed this book better than book 1, but there is still something missing for me.
In this sequel, Hunter, chief of MoonBound clan has to fulfill the bargain he made in book 1, to marry the daughter of a rival clan. While Hunter wasn't looking forward to mating Rasha, as a leader, he had to create alliances as the human attacks on vampires continue to increase.

Rasha travels to her new clan with her twin sister Aylin as a decoy in case they come across trouble. Aylin is disposable since she has a limp, and she is a second twin who should have been drowned according to clan customs. When the group came under attack, Hunter was able to rescue the princess and they spent some time getting to know each other. Imagine Hunter's shock when he learned that it was actually Aylin, not Rasha that he has been spending time with at the hidden cabin.

The contrast in personalities is vast as Rasha is just awful and Aylin is so sweet. I did find that cliche that the beautiful one was rotten inside and the deformed sister was a gem inside. But it put Hunter in a quagmire--does he do his duty or follow his heart?

The length of time it took to resolve this triangle, coupled with the dangling issues with Mine and the traitor left me unsatisfied.

The world building in this book was much better and more interesting. The origins of the clans, seeing some of the individual's abilities such as Aylin's gift was a good touch to this story. I will continue the series but I wasn't wowed by this one either.

4-4 ½ stars – Paranormal/Vampire Romance

I enjoyed this even more than the first book of the series. Larissa Ione always delivers first-rate, original, and addictive paranormal romances.

Chained By Night is the second book in the new series by this author. This series is about a vampire clan, that live in a time where their true natures have been revealed to humans, and they are considered the level of slaves, no rights and are constantly being hunted by humans. Hunter is the leader of the Moonbound Clan, his ways are far different from other vampire clans. When one of his own is kidnapped, he agrees to mate with the clan leaders daughter, in order to save another of his clan. His intended mate, Rasha, is brutal just like the rest of her clan. But her sister Aylin, is her total opposite. Aylin. Aylin and Rasha are twins, but that is where their similarities end. Aylin was born with a defect, a crooked hip bone, so she has a limp and she is treated like a outcast in her own clan. She has never been fully accepted by anyone. The plan is for her to accompany her sister, and help her prepare for the mating ceremony within a month's time. But then she meets Hunter, a vampire she is drawn to, he is so different from others she has known. He cares for his clan, treats everyone with respect, and protects. There is a sizzling attraction between them, but it is forbidden. But then Hunter and Aylin are forced to work together, are soon Hunter will have to make a difficult choice..his clan or Aylin?

Chained by Night was simply thrilling, and what a wild ride this one turned out to be. I just couldn't get enough, and stayed up most of the night reading it. It is rare, to have a book keep me up at night, but this one did. Every time I get a chance to read this author, I am always amazed by Ione's talent in weaving together stories that pull you in like magnets. I just couldn't get enough of this one. Everything about this book was amazing. There was so much depth and substance to this story, and the characters alone would be enough to get me to read this. They were so compelling and full of complexities you didn't expect. Hunter is one powerful alpha male, he is a protector, and has honor, unlike most of the other clan leaders. He is mating a woman he hates to save a member of his clan, and in this story we see how he deals with inner conflicts with Aylin, who is his match in every way. Aylin is desperate to escape her fate of being mated with a brutal leader, who has a harem of women. But she has no idea how, when she has a limp and even though she can fight, she is no match for her sister. Aylin is such a strong heroine...my heart just went out to her. Despite how difficult her life is, she still dreams of being happy somewhere, and despite the fact that she is isolated, she knows how to fight but in different ways and she has the courage of a lion. I love how she is willing to help those she cares about no matter the cost to her. I admired her character through and through.

The story itself was solid and full of depth and character...it has quite a bit going for it. There is much that goes on in this story I don't want to spoil for ya, but it was one of the most phenomenal books I have ever had the pleasure to read. There is quite a conflict for this pair to overcome, and it really had me at the edge of my seat for the whole way through...and it was quite a intense ride. Who needs cardio to get your heart rate up when you can read Chained by Night right?

Overall a story that will completely suck you in from the beginning, exciting plot, intense characters, dangerous villains, complex scenarios, intricately written, with thrilling paranormal elements...and best of all a romance to win your heart and take your breath!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

When I read the first book in this series I remember thinking that it was a good story and the plot of the series was really intriguing, but it left me wanting a bit more. So I was both excited and scared to go into this one. I wanted this one to live up to the potential of this series! But I was scared to have high expectations. I shouldn’t have worried. Larissa made me happy, once again!

Even though this didn’t have the level of sexual intensity, I guess, that I’ve come to expect with Larissa’s stories, that didn’t take away from the fact that these two were hot and sensual together. There’s something about Hunter that even though he’s a vampire it makes me see him as a shifter. There’s a rawness about him. A loyalty to his clan. The power that surrounds his persona. I found him alluring and intoxicating. There’s no need for bad boys when you can get one good to the bone but that will tear to shreds anyone that dares touch what’s his.
When we left off book one, Hunter had agreed to take on a mate from another clan to help rescue one of his own and his mate. Now as he receives his future mate in his home, he realizes he has a deep connection to her twin sister. Good and evil, Rasha and Aylin are polar opposites. One has had everything she’s wanted her whole life, growing up bloodthirsty and with all the power given to her by being the daughter of the head of the clan. But Aylin has only faced hardships. Being born with a disfigurement, and walking with a limp, she’s seen as less than everyone else in her clan, always made aware of her place in the food chain. She’s always known not to wish for things she couldn’t have. But she’s also always had a brave and good heart.
Aylin and Hunter were truly perfect for each other. I loved seeing their attraction grow from an easy friendship to a combustible love. CHAINED BY NIGHT was a sweet and sexy ride, full of action and adventure. The kind that you want to go back to almost as soon as you’ve had to put the book down. The forbidden love story, that shows us that true love can conquer anything and they will face whatever obstacles they have to and be together. This book reminded me why I fell in love with paranormal romance in the first place. Books and stories like this. We don’t need the sex acrobatics or a crazy twist. Just a solid romance that draws on everything alpha about a paranormal hero and takes us on an entertaining ride. And entertained I was. I can’t wait for more from these vampires!

100 year old Vampires, saying "dude" to each other, playing the x-box to relax and have a voice and personality of a teenager? Yeah, no. Too immature.

The story would've had potential. Read it 5 years ago, gave it 4 stars. But, the execution wasn't great. I can't take this seriously. And a world where vampires are the slaves of the human race, well I'm not convinced.

Oh, and the Hero only chooses the Heroine, because he finds his promised mate with another male in his bedroom. He had all the intentions of drinking her blood, even if he despised her and wanted the Heroine. No backbone or courage to find.

5/5 - Hunter x Aylin - amazing story

So so good. Larissa Ione has the right amount of everything in her writing. And she has likable heroines. They are as important to the story as the heroes and are fundamental in their mates growth.

The mythology is still so good. Vampires x Native American lore and culture.

I wish more books in this series would be released.

“Both twins would be the death of you. But only one of them will choose to bring you back.”

At the end of Bound by Night, Hunter, second generation vampire and leader of the MoonBound clan struck a deal with the enemy clan leader of ShadowSpawn. The condition of the deal was that Hunter must mate with the brutal leader’s daughter, Rasha, in exchange for the release of Riker’s mate, Nichole. This promised union not only secured Nicole’s release, but will ultimately provide peace between the rival clans and a united front against the coming war with the humans. Putting the safety of his clan above alls else, Hunter not only has to mate a woman he despises, but he also has to face three deadly tests with his intended in order to break an ancient curse against their firstborn child and any future children.

After humans attack ShadowSpawn’s team on their journey to MoonBound, Hunter rescues who he believes to be his future mate. Knowing of Rasha’s unlikable character and volatile behavior, he is surprised at the instant attraction he feels while tending to her wounds as well as her lack of a sharp tongue and overall gentle nature. When Hunter offers his vein to give her strength and healing, primal desires overtake both and during the heated moment Hunter calls out Rasha’s name. She immediately pulls away and yells for him to get off her. And then to Hunters horror and surprise the female announces that she is not Rasha. She is Aylin, Rasha’s twin sister

“She was an impossible combination of wary and unguarded, as if she didn’t trust others but wanted them to trust her. Her spirit seemed desperate to burst from her with an explosion of energy, but something was holding her back. She reminded him of a bird with clipped wings or a wolf on a chain, wanting to be free but unable to make it happen.”

Back at MoonBound clan’s headquarters, Hunter summons the demon, Samnult, in effort to arrange the “warrior’s worth clause” series of tests. Samnult informs him he is free to take either twin with him and they are to meet at the portal near Lake Chelan day after tomorrow. When Hunter informs Rasha that the time is set, she refuses to accompany Hunter, planning her own agenda with regard to the curse. Regardless of having no fighting experience and a lame leg, Aylin steps forward and volunteers to go with Hunter. As the journey unfolds, both are pushed to the limit on what they are to endure physically and mentally. During the tests Hunter begins to see how much Aylin is willing to sacrifice for him and his unborn children. Their mutual attraction and desire deepens and now Hunter must face his most difficult decision. Will he follow his responsibilities to his clan or will he follow his heart.

“Screw the challenge and the danger and the demon. He had a feeling that Aylin was the true menace to his future.”

The MoonBound Vampire Clan series introduces us to a most unconventional PNR world. A world where vampires, with a connection to Native American mythology, are purchased and enslaved by humans. Those that are not captured are in rogue clans throughout the world. While Bound by Night laid the background to this uniquely dark realm and introduced many of the characters in the MoonBound clan, Chained by Night is definitely more character driven with a steadier pace. True to Larissa Ione’s history, this series is a widely driven storyline and arc that builds throughout each installment. Where Ione’s past series have offered a more sexually charged vibe throughout the entire book, this series is a slower, more sensual burn that gradually increases between the characters throughout the action of the storyline. While I did not feel a strong connection between Riker and Nichole in Bound by Night, Hunter and Aylin’s chemistry and connection is immediate and intense. Aylin is a fierce and beautiful heroine. Shunned as a second born by her family, she is a woman of great strength and compassion and sacrificed much throughout her life. Hunter is a loyal, honorable, and fearless leader; willing to surrender his own happiness for the good of his clan. Together, Hunter and Aylin are a fabulous couple to witness with an unmistakable chemistry that permeates throughout the story.

Larissa Ione never fails to deliver solid and engaging storytelling, transporting the reader into a world of action packed dark and gritty goodness. Secondary characters continue to be vital to the storyline and I am hoping that Myne’s book is next. Readers who enjoy escaping into a captivating and seductive PNR world will definitely enjoy the MoonBound Vampire Clan series.

Favorite Quote:

“If anything I do makes you uncomfortable,” he said softly, “I’ll stop.”

“If you stop, I’ll kill you.”

“Noted.” He should have known she’d leap into this fearlessly. This was the female who had volunteered to travel to a dangerous demon realm and fight to the death. Sex certainly wasn’t going to scare her.

Larissa Ione never disappoints me, CHAINED BY NIGHT is a great follow-up to BOUND BY NIGHT. This sophomore novel in the MoonBound Clan Vampires series as a great hero and heroine.

At the end of BOUND BY NIGHT (book 1) Hunter, the chief of the Moonbound Clan, agrees to an arranged mating with the daughter of the ShadowSpawn Clan's chief in order to get two of his clan members back safely. The major problem with this arranged mating? The daughter is a bitch of enormous portions. Oh and she's a twin. And the ShadowSpawn Clan is full of mean, nasty (like in the fact that they don't bathe regularly) douche bags that's led by a real bastard.

So Hunter is not looking forward to welcoming his so to be mate, Rasha (the bitch) to his clan and he's surprised that she bring her twin sister, Aylin. They make look a like on the outside but Hunter soon finds out they are nothing like on the inside. While Rasha is a hard warrior and has a constant bitch face, Aylin is kind, bookish and soft.

Alyin has lived a crappy life because her father and clan sees her as weak because she is the second born twin and because of her birth defect. She's been told that she is  not worthy of being a mate to any male in their clan and that she should have been drowned as a baby. Ouch, yeah Alyin had it rough. Now she's being sold off to an even worse chief of another clan. But she gets to stay with her sister, Rasha til she and Hunter are mated.

While Alyin lives with the MoonBound Clan she sees that clan life can be a great thing and not all chiefs are cruel bastards like her father. In fact one chief smoking hot, kind and a great leader to his people. Hunter stirs all kinds of feelings and desires within Alyin that she's never felt before. They heat up the pages of CHAINED BY NIGHT with their building chemistry. They become a true partnership, both saving the other from a life of misery.

If I didn't need to eat, clean house, occasionally talk to my family and sleep, I could have read CHAINED BY NIGHT in one sitting. It was that good and I can't wait for the next book in the series. I'm guessing either Myne or Baddon will get their story next since they both have issues with women. It will be fun to watch either of these males find a mate.

Recommended for romance readers that lust after tall, dark alphas that know how to unwind will playing video games and watching Monty Python movies when he's not running in the woods in nothing but a tiny loth cloth (or naked).

I did not read book one, so I wasn't really sure what I was getting into, but it sure was a pleasant surprise!!!

Hunter is the super hot chief of a clan of vampires. They live in a society where humans know about vampires and the government is trying to enslave them. The old vampire ways are are brutal, they abuse weaker vampires, shun those with any abnormalities and kill for sport. When Hunter took over the clan, after killing his father to do so, he changed things for his clan. They are more tolerant, work together and protect each other like family. In order to save a clan member and his mate, Hunter agrees to mate with a rival clan's daughter. Of course she is a gorgeous warrior who is extremely intolerant and a total witch.

Aylin is the twin sister Hunters future mate. They meet and are immediately drawn to each other. Aylin was born with a birth defect and suffered the consequences of being born that way her entire life under her father's rule. Hunter and his clan don't see her birth defect as a weakness and marvel at her inner strength.

The chemistry between Aylin and Hunter is palpable. I was routing for them to find a way to be together without one of them being killed.

Some of the demon/witch stuff was a bit convoluted for my tastes, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I can't wait for Myne's story to come out.

MoonBound´s leader Hunter made a deal with his enemy in the last book, to save the clan he promised to take his daughter for a mate. Now the time has come for the wedding..
Aylin, twin sister to the intended mate Rasha, comes along as a decoy for the poachers or any other ambushes, but this is still better than staying at ShadowSpawn, where she´s seen as a freak and abomination as the second twin, not to mention her crippled leg. When circumstances puts Hunter and Aylin in close quarters, feelings blossom, and heat flares, but nothing can come from this. Until another deal with a Demon forces them both to get even closer..
PNR Romance, smutty fluff, action and suspense in a great combo.
Audiobook, so any misspelled names comes from me just hearing it all =D
Can´t wait for a book for Mine, and Rasha, or how about the human bounty hunter? I´ll take them all! <3

I really enjoyed Chained by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampires #2) by Larissa Ione...it was so much better then the first book in the series and I'm glad I didn't give up on the series after reading Bound by Night (MoonBound Clan Vampires #1).

Both Hunter and Aylin's characters were well written, and the chemistry between them palpable.
I thought that Samnult's tests were really the key to building Hunter & Aylin's relationship and Aylin finding her inner strength and accepting herself as a person.

For me an enjoyable five star read

** ★★★☆ **

The second book in the Moonbound Clan Vampires series. Mmmm, I was conflicted about rating this book, 3.5 but whether to mark it up from three or down from four.

Maybe I have just reached saturation point with vampires because the world building and storyline are fine. I just didn't love it although the series has potential, especially the story of vampire Myne which must be in the works. And it did build and improve on the first book, Bound by Night. Therefore up to four, it is.
