Faint heart never won fair...mage? What’s a werewolf to do when his mate runs away? Chase him, of course
Aspen, a master mage, has loved his foster sister Brie for years, but now that she’s been forced to become an acolyte, the only way to ever win her is to find another source of the power their faction needs before the new moon. Seeking information about the were, Aspen walks into Locke’s café and finds what could be the solution to everything. He could finally have Brie...but sometimes what you think you want and what you get are two very different things.
Locke is shocked when Aspen walks into his life. He’d always been told that as an omega, he would never have a mate. But the joyous occasion is marred by his banishment from the only life he’s ever known, and even worse, Aspen has disappeared. Now, with nothing more to lose, he must track down his wayward mage. But trouble has beaten him there and unless he acts quickly, Aspen could be killed. And that’s not even the worst possible outcome...

The third book in this hilarious series was as much fun to read as the first two. While the focus was on Locke, the werewolf, and Aspen, the mage, and it works well as a standalone book, it was great to see the characters from the first two books make an appearance. The events very cleverly answered some of the questions from those books as well, so this is an all-round brilliant sequel.
Aspen is a mage and he thinks he is in love with Brie, another mage. When he meets Locke, though, he learns the difference between platonic love and romantic love. It was interesting to watch his reactions, as he was previously pretty unemotional. Very focused on his work, and protecting his adoptive family, he needed someone to awaken that ability to love deeply.
Locke never expected to have a mate, since he is an omega. He's been suppressed and told all kinds of nonsense by a cruel pack alpha, all of which turns out to be untrue. He is so focused on making a life with Aspen, so hopeful, I really felt for him. He is also very protective, but more in a partnership kind of way, rather than in the domineering way of a dominant alpha. That difference may have been subtle, but I thought it was a fascinating part of his character.
If you like stories that make you laugh, yet want some action and suspense, if you enjoy men learning new things about themselves, then trying to cope, and if you have eagerly awaited Locke's story, then you will probably love this book as much as I did.

If you liked books 1 and 2 inthe series then you'll definitely enjoy this one too. While this ones about Aspen Black and his mate, readers also get a little glimpse of the couples from the previous two books.
The 3rd and last book in the series. You really do need to read the first two to have all the other characters make sense, especially since none of the books are not very long so they are not very deep. Fun to read, but not long enough for a lot of in-depth character building.
I want to say 4.7, I really enjoyed it like the previous two, but the other two couples I liked better... even though I really enjoyed the way all three books came together in this third one. :) For such short reads, they were very, very nice!
Yes, you saw it coming… another cute, short read! *grin* This series was just adorable! A little short on information, but we got enough to keep me happy! Locke and Aspen were the MCs, but we were so caught up in the whole “save my friends” thing that we didn’t really get much of their actual story… :( I would have been happier if the stories had been a bit longer, the plots more defined and if the POVs hadn’t bounced around so much… but, overall? I had a fun time reading each story and that is what counts in my world! ;D
