Falcon Point Suspense #2

From an Unknown Sender

Rate this book
Smuggling knows no boundaries. Neither do family ties.

After spending a busy holiday season putting drug smugglers behind bars, CIA operative Cole Bridger is looking forward to spending a quiet Christmas in Vienna with his girlfriend and fellow operative, Isabelle Roberts. But when Isabelle is tasked with investigating a string of suspect financial transactions and redirects a suspicious package to a museum in Amsterdam, she inadvertently places Cole’s cousins in the crosshairs of a drug smuggling ring.

Lars and Marit have no desire to be drawn into the deadly dealings of the criminal underworld, but when Lars’s sister, Tess’s, life is placed in danger, they willingly join Cole and Isabelle in their efforts to uncover the mastermind behind the drug smuggling ring. Unfortunately, the two couples’ involvement does not go unnoticed. And though each step brings them closer to the truth, they also reveal a startling picture of greed and corruption at the center of a dangerous organization that will stop at nothing to retrieve what it has lost.

Thrilling, edge of your seat suspense. I loved this book! From an Unknown Sender is the exciting second book in the modern spinoff series of the Heirs of Falcon Point series. (The Danger with Diamonds was the first in the series.) I’m honestly amazed at how Sian Ann Bessey and Traci Hunter Abramson are able to seamlessly weave a fantastic story together that reads as if it’s written by one person. The action, romance, and suspense kept me up most of the night because it was so hard to put down. Total lack of sleep here!

I loved spending more time with Cole, Isabelle, Lars, Marit, and Tess as they try to thwart a drug smuggling ring in Amsterdam during the busy Christmas holiday season. Tess is inadvertently put in danger when Isabelle reroutes a package of a suspected drug dealer to Tess’ workplace. Thinking it’s an early birthday present, she opens up the package not realizing the contents. When the bad guys realize where the package was rerouted, Tess’ life is put in danger. As the three cousins work together along with their significant others, it’s a race against time to shut down the smuggling ring and stay one step ahead of the bad guys.

Along with the suspenseful, action-filled plot are the romances between Cole and Isabelle & Lars and Marit. It’s so fun to see the differences between the male cousins and their approaches to their relationships. Cole is afraid of commitment and while he cares for Isabelle, spending time with her family at Christmas gives him definite cold feet. Lars on the other hand is head over heels for Marit and though he’s nervous, he’s not afraid to voice his true feelings. The good natured teasing between Lars and Cole was so fun and I loved all their interactions. The two couples make a great team and while Cole and Isabelle are trained secret agents, Lars and Marit can completely hold their own.

Taking down the drug smuggling ring undeniably kept me on the edge. Having glimpses of the bad guy’s point of view throughout the story made things even more intense. There were several nail-biting moments leading up to a thrilling conclusion. Now I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

With the perfect blend of romance, humor and suspense, I highly recommend this and the whole series to romantic suspense fans! While it’s the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. It’s more enjoyable though if you’re familiar with the Heirs of Falcon Point series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the authors and publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

The series "Falcon Point Suspense" is one that I always jump at the chance to read. The first two books in the series were amazing and From an Unknown Sender can be described the same way. Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Ann Bessey are so in tune, you never know who has written a particular chapter. Both of them are fantastic writers and each has written so many books. There is also a historical part of the series that A.L. Sowards has written called Codes of Courage. That review will be coming soon.

It's great to be back with characters that you feel you know. Cole and his girlfriend Isabelle and Lars with his girlfriend Marit. Surprisingly they all play a huge role in this novel. We also get better insight into their personalities and their relationships with their significant others. The romance is nice but it's not the main part of the story.

From an Unknown Sender is full of action and mystery from the beginning of the novel. It was great how the plot unfolded as the story went along. The suspense aspect is off the charts too. The mystery involves a drug trafficking ring, who is behind it, and who committed a vicious murder. Readers are kept on their toes in anticipation as they watch and try to solve the mysteries alongside the characters. There are many chase scenes, shootouts, boat racing, and yummy food eaten. It was also fascinating to have the POV of one of the bad guys. I liked having this additional insight.

If you like a good mystery suspense novel, this book and series was written for you. The non-stop action was not only entertaining but kept you breathless until the very end. This could be read as a standalone but trust me, read the books in order of how they were written. You will have a more rich and connective experience if you do.

There’s nothing better than a thrilling and chilling romantic suspense and this one definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the camaraderie between cousins Lars and Cole and their girlfriends, Marit and Isabelle. The way they seamlessly worked together under pressure and tirelessly labored to break codes and stay one step ahead of someone unknown was riveting.

While this book can stand alone, it’s better savored in order, as the character development and backstories are simply gripping. In the midst of all this mystery and tension are moments of banter, sweet romance and connection. I love these characters so much and the individual roles they each played to meet their end goal.

Bessey and Abramson write so well together and this series is extremely fascinating in all aspects–I just can’t get enough!

Content: mild romance; mild+ moments of peril/death/talk of drugs

Authors Traci Hunter Abramson and Sian Ann Besse have come together and crafted yet another action packed romantic suspense, that is a fantastic addition to the Falcon Point Series. This thrilling story will have readers on the edge of their seat from the turn of every page. A fast paced story with fun, engaging, and sensational characters that readers will fall in love with--Cole and Isabelle and Lars and Merit, especially with the witty banter. This story has two sweet romances that readers get to delight in. Although part of a series, this story can be read as a stand alone. A fantastic story that readers will not want to miss out on.

'...the CIA and Interpol needed answers, and Cole had been tasked with finding them.'

Romantic Suspense.
One of the best genres out there.

I've been a longtime fan of both of these author's books and when they combine their efforts it's double the fun and excitement...as well as suspense and mystery!

The suspense is great in this one. My proof is that I started this one in the early evening and finished when the sun was coming up. This book was completely un-put-down-able and the hours of sleep I missed out on were totally worth losing being able to see this book come alive, and of course trying to figure out how it would end!

The romance-so good. Two couples means double the swoon factor. Throw these couples in the middle of shoot-offs, high speed chases while trying to figure out coded documents...that is the definition of an amazing romantic suspense!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND everything in The Heir's of Falcon Point series/spinoffs as well as both of these author's individual novels. So, so good. Every single one of them!

Thanks to the authors, publisher and NetGalley for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

Abramson and Bessey have teamed up again for another CIA adventure. Cole is a CIA field agent and his girlfriend Isabelle is authorized by the CIA and keeps an eye on an international bank where she works in Vienna. When she notices some irregularities in an account she sends a package heading to Amsterdam to a different location. Alerting Cole they head there to see what is being shipped. Cole’s cousin Lars is there along with his model girlfriend Marit, they helped them in the first book of this series, The Danger of Diamond (Oct 2022). The foursome, together try and solve a mystery that includes drug trafficking and murder.

This can be read as a standalone but if you want a better introduction to the characters read the previous book. I know reading these authors I’m going to get a clean book for language, some kissing and non graphic mayhem. I thought some of the cousin banter was missing between the men but I like friendly conversations between Marit and Isabelle. I love Amsterdam as the location and could easily envision the museums and canals. I would have liked a little more on the romance side too. There is easy familiarity in the kissing but no discussing feelings. I am really enjoying the Falcon Point Suspense novels but it can be a little confusing as there are also Falcon Point historical novels. As I’ve read everything in the series it took me a moment at the beginning to place the characters and remember the connections.

Thank you to NetGalley and Covenant Communications for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review

If you’re picking up this fantastic new read from Traci and Sian anytime soon, better cancel all your plans until you finish it. It’s nonstop intrigue from beginning to end with Bourne-esque action and the best moments of swoony romance to round things out. Cole, Isabelle, Marit and Lars are right in the middle of another mystery, this one stemming from a mysterious set of packages and an unexpected murder at a local museum. Figuring everything out before someone else gets hurt is going to take all their sleuthing skills and dedication. You’ll have to come read the story to find out what happens because I’m not giving spoilers here #sorrynotsorry Definitely get this highly engaging read on your TBR right now, it’s an absolute smash of a book!!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the author via BookFunnel. I am not required by anyone to write a positive review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.

Do you love a good suspense novel? The modern day characters from Heirs of Falcon point find themselves in a precarious situation with a mystery to solve, before it’s too late and more people get hurt.

This was a fun story with familiar characters and a wild ride solving a mystery. This novel includes 2 couples that work together to uncover the people behind a crime. While the relationships are solid from the beginning, it’s fun to see them grow closer in this book. If you want clean mystery/ suspense, and you’ve read the other books in this series, this book is for you.

I really enjoyed the connection between the characters, and making guesses about the mystery. I have enjoyed both of these authors and it was a treat to read a book they collaborated on.

Wow! What a fantastic read!
Some authors set the bar for others to meet. Traci Abramson and Sian Bessey are two of those and they keep raising the bar. This book is so very good, that I had a terrible time stopping to do anything else. I started Monday afternoon and finished Tuesday morning. The characters are rich, real, and thoroughly believable. This book starts as the main characters, Isabelle and Cole, become involved in tracking and stopping a drug cartel. Unfortunately, the actions of Isabelle cause Tess and Lars (Cole’s cousins) as well as Lars’ girlfriend, Marit to become involved not only in the investigation but placing them in danger. Soon they are deeply involved facing dangers as they race to decode clues as to who they are facing. What a great read. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone since the earlier books’ plots and characters may be mentioned but are not needed to follow the plot. That said, I highly encourage you to read the earlier books as they are excellent. Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the copy. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.

Traci and Sian, you have knocked it out of the park AGAIN! Just. Wow. I am seriously flabbergasted every time. How do two people write this and still make it so seamless? How do you come up with these villains and stories? I’m here for it. I am allllll the way here! I will cheer and shout from the rooftops and read every single book you decide to work on together (I’ll read all your solo books too, for the record, just in case there was a question).

Anyway, I adore Lars & Merit and Cole and Isabelle. I really enjoyed that this wasn’t a romance in the traditional sense of “will they/can they get together,” but more of how to make their relationships work with life throwing curve balls at them. I liked the relationship growth (is that a thing? Because it felt like a thing) between each couple. Lars and Merit are #RelationshipGoals and Cole is hilariously left-footed when it comes to a girlfriend! But yay for adult, mature conversations! Also love Thor. IYKYK.

The relationship between Cole and Lars is so much fun. Having grown up in a relatively tight-knit family, and getting on well with most of my cousins, seeing cousin-friendships is very special. I also love the friendship blossoming between Merit and Isabelle.

This one kept me on my toes the entire time I read. As soon as I would think there wasn’t a way out, or how could anything go wrong, you both pulled out all the stops I didn’t see coming, and made it happen. And I loved it!

This is a fabulous suspense novel, and the sprinkling of romance (with some really good kisses thrown in for good measure! Good work guys!) added the perfect touch. And now for the annoying question every author hates: when is the next one? 😉
All my love,
Jessica

I loved this latest installment in the Heirs of Falcon Point series! I’m so happy the authors continued writing about these characters. This book grabbed my attention immediately, and it was so hard to put down! I loved reading more about Marit, Lars, Cole, and Isabelle. I hope there will be more of this series to come!

Drug smuggling, spies, romance and more! Cole and his girlfriend, Isabelle, are both CIA operatives tracking down criminals to try to stop a drug smuggling ring in Amsterdam. After Isabelle, unintentionally gets Cole's cousins involved, Lars and his girlfriend, Marit, join them on their mission.
I really enjoyed this story! I didn't read the previous books in the series, and I can say this one definitely works as a standalone. However, I do want to go back and read the others. Anyway, I loved all of the characters in this story and how well they work together. I loved that there was a little bit of romance involved as well among the suspense. I also liked the sense of humor of the characters. The authors do a great job of keeping the story fast paced and entertaining. If you love spy novels/movies, you will love this book! Very Clean and I definitely recommend!

This is not my usual genre to read, but I thought I’d give it a try. I admit it was better than I expected and more engaging, though a little lean on the romance.

It was very intriguing to see how all the characters’ lives intersected and how the actions of each affected all the others. I have not read the previous books so am not familiar with the backstory of the characters, but I feel that didn’t affect my enjoyment of the story.

If you like action, adventure and mystery I think this is something you will enjoy. There are some great chase scenes and lots of suspense as they try to figure out who is sending drugs and how to stop them without getting killed themselves.

Content warnings: There is violence, gun fights and death.

I did enjoy the sense of family and how everyone was willing to do whatever they could to help, backup and protect the others even when it placed them in danger as well.

If your looking for a fast paced, double the romance, double the danger, and double the friendships then this is the book for you!

Two couples thrown into a wild ride and a seriously dangerous situation! Over and over they all show their commitment to keeping each other safe.

Two couples
Cole and Isabelle both keeping the work they do as much of a secret as they can.
Lars and Marit. Lars is a photographer and Marit is a supermodel. The skills they show and determination help in the best ways.

Planned to have a quiet Christmas just the four of them, but danger comes knocking right at their doorstep.

Look forward to...
🚤Epic Boat Chases
🚤Stroop Waffle Craving
🚤Surveillance cameras
🚤Stake outs
🚤intrigue and danger
🚤support from unlikely places
🚤 Devotion

I’m loving this series and need to go back and read Falcon Point and The Danger with Diamonds.

Do you like romantic suspense? I love it, and this was definitely a fun one! It’s action packed and a fast paced read!

CIA operatives Cole and Isabelle fight to uncover and stop a drug smuggling ring in Amsterdam. Cole’s cousin, Lars, and his girlfriend, Marit, also become involved with the case. Things quickly turn deadly, and these four need to track down a killer before he finds them first.

The story has a well written plot, and I really loved the setting in Amsterdan. The suspense, as well as the double romance, made this one hard to put down!

I received a complimentary copy but a positive review wasn’t required. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another truly amazing suspense story by the authors of Falcon Point Suspense series! Non stop action, heart stopping suspense, light romance- what could be better than that?

This can be read as a stand alone book or as part of the series. Drug smuggling, spies, humor and intrigue kept me on the edge of my seat and engaged with the characters from beginning to end. Highly recommend this book and series!

I went back and re-read the other books in this series before I started this one and I am glad I did. This is like an extension to The Danger with Diamonds. I really like Isabelle in that book but not as much in this one. Cole still drove me crazy. He is WAY too full of himself. Lars and Marit were better agents than either Cole or Isabelle and they aren’t even agents. The overall story was intriguing and worth the read but go in with low expectations. The exciting parts are great but it did drag in places.

I really enjoyed the other two books from this series but this one was very disappointing. Not a lot of action, suspense, or mystery, which were all things I was expecting. It dragged a lot throughout. I think one thing that kept me going was that I liked the audiobook narrator. Throughout the book, were so many unnecessary references to going out and getting food and what they ate, the book even ends with the words “mandarin chicken”. I was disappointed because I usually enjoy books by these authors.

This next book in the Falcon Point series is on point!!! Almost all of my favorite characters are back together and the action, suspense, and mystery kept me reading as quickly as I possibly could. I loved the small and intimate moments sprinkled throughout the story. Those really grounded the characters for me and made everything feel real. But the action and suspense were the showstoppers and were off the charts and Abramson and Bessey are the masters!

Isabelle and Cole who are CIA operatives, inadvertently involve Cole’s cousins in an operation to track down drug smugglers. How could they keep them safe and track down the criminals? The fast pace of the book made me not want to put it down! Another hit for the Falcon Point series, From An Unknown Sender is a must read!!!
This book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the other books in the series.

Romantic suspense at its finest!

Romance, sweet, suspense, contemporary; series but stand alone read.
Isabel and Cole are caught up in a drug smuggling sting. In between trying to figure out a murderers identity, and figure out all the players in this smugglers group, some sweet moments, made this a fast paced, sweet romance. Great addition to this series.
