So according to the scanlations, I'm on Volume 4. However it is not compete so as of now, there will be no rating or proper review until the full volume is available to me,
It's been over a year since I read the previous volume, and I forgot that I'm not enjoying this series as much as I want to. For one thing, the characters are very flat, undefined, and boring, which makes it really hard to care about them. The details are sometimes inconsistent--see the clock issues I had with previous volumes, and in this volume one character . With art this simple, I feel like that should be very easy to catch and I'm a little disappointed.
I think the plot is a tad more exciting in this one, because the stakes are getting higher with fewer characters to be killed off and the characters' desperation shines through. Granted, the main arc in this volume is an , so if that's not your thing, you may not enjoy this. It also bugged me that volume 3 ended with such a cliffhanger, and the explanation for that is here but it's glossed over almost immediately in favor of that other storyline.
Overall, I'm going to continue reading because I am hoping that we'll get interesting stories about how the characters embody the 7 deadly sins...whether the series delivers remains to be seen.
The Goddess of Justice and Order... Themis. In her left hand, she holds scales to measure right and wrong. In her right hand, a sword to protect society from evil. And over her eyes, a blindfold for impartiality under the law regardless of one's wealth or status. It symbolises the idea that all people are to be treated equally.
9 strangers, each with a deadly sin in their past, are kidnapped and locked in an old courthouse to face their judgement. Every 12 hours they must vote for one of them to be judged.
This forth volume sees the group come to terms with Kazusan's suicide following him being voted for in the second judgement. Finding the cellphone he had hidden they start to suspect greater forces at play within the Judgement. Meanwhile, Hiro still tries desperately to find a way to ensure the remaining 6 can survive their ordeal. However, the next judgement approaches and the groups are now split equally, with 3 in each.
Who will they vote for? Will they escape judgement?
This is seriously good and completely gripping. I can't wait to read the next instalment. 5 stars.
Summary (for the whole manga): Nine people wake up and find themselves in a building with animal masks on. Each of them have no idea how they ended up there. A stuffed doll then speaks and informs them that they are all in a game called "Judge" and that all of them are here because they committed a sin: pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth. At each round of the game, they will have to vote for a person who they think should be punished. At the end of each round, the person with the highest votes will die. At the end, only four people are allowed to leave the game.
Review: I gave this manga a poor rating because of the plot in the last chapter.
Alright, I am on volume four of this series and I genuinely have no idea if this is going to have a satisfying ending. The gore, violence, and general plot have been minimal and lackluster. Countering that (or part of that? I'm not sure) is that these are incredibly quick reads because the word count on each page is sparse. I'll definitely be finishing this series because, well, I checked out all six from the library and since I've got them I may as well finish them? I'm moderately bummed out that I dont like this series more, I've really wanted to read it for a while.
Ebben a mangában például felbukkan Themisz az emberi ügyekben is törvényt hozó görög női titán (titanisz), aki Zeusszal együtt tartja fent a rendet. Mindig picit kedvesebb a szívemnek valami, amiben utalnak a (görög, római, etc.) mitológiára.
I really like this book series, it's centered around the seven deadly sins, however. It is not what you think it would be. As one reviewer said, there is no actual judging, or really any confession or connection to the title.
But it's still worth a read, even if the lord of the flies plot is over done at this point, the art style is amazing, and at least worth checking out. It definitely creeps me out to be sure.
I honestly don't remember the character names anymore because I read these a couple months ago and I read a majority of the series between 3-5AM so... but anyways, I loved the idea of the horse guy and the main guy having to fight to the death in this volume. It was really satisfying to see the horse guy go because he really got on my nerves.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Been a while since I read the last volume. But got to say the suspense and creepiness is still there. And the art is ever creepy and drawn well, especially the backgrounds. So yeah, this series is weird and creepy. That cover.
