The fifth fantastic Roland Harvey vacation book, this time focusing on the extraordinary landscapes, towns, and people of Australia's west Uncle Kev is lost. Can readers help find him? While readers hunt for Uncle Kev, he's looking for the rare Bearded Night Parrot! Each page contains a cunningly concealed picture of the bird, pursued by wacky Uncle Kev, often using inventive contraptions. Readers can follow Uncle Kev's hilarious antics as the family visits landmarks of Western Australia. Detailed and humorous pictures feature beaches, trains, boats, and mining towns, and showcase the astonishing beauty of WA.
This is the fifth book in Roland Harvey's series. I loved it for lots of reasons. Roland Harvey is one of my favourite Australian illustrators - I first fell in love with his work when I came across The Friends of Emily Culpepper. Harvey has a wonderfully spidery feel to his quirky lines and subtle colouring of his illustrations.
