Susie Bright says, "Cecilia Tan is simply one of the most important writers, editors, and innovators in contemporary American erotic literature." Since the publication of Telepaths Don't Need Safewords in 1992, she has been on the cutting edge of the erotic form, often combining elements of fantasy and science fiction in her work. She is also founder and editor of Circlet Press.

She has been publishing Daron's Guitar Chronicles as a web serial since 2009 and her Secrets of a Rock Star series (Taking the Lead, Wild Licks, Hard Rhythm) is published by Hachette/Forever. In 2018 Tor Books will launch her urban fantasy/paranormal series, The Vanished Chronicles. I first read this book the summer before I turned 25. In the same month I was handed both Patrick Calafia’s Macho Sluts AND (the immortal) Rita Mae Brown’s Venus Envy. One day I will write a dissertation based on the resultant brainstorm but, for now, suffice it to say; I bloody well married the woman who first loaned me her copies.

I tried for nearly an hour to compose a fitting review for this book. I finally gave up in delight and you get this:

Don’t miss it. There’s no counting how many times I’ve reread it over the years. Caveat? Check for content warnings if you’re not the adventurous sort. This book has loads of fabulous sex in it.

It’s sexy, thought-provoking, funny, provocative, revolutionary, and I found it oddly cathartic. Don’t miss it.
