Este librito fue el punto de partida de mi idilio guevarista. Por suerte, como todos los idilios, fue uno que no duró mucho ni tuvo grandes consecuencias.

A decent quick introduction to Che Guevara. Most people (accurately) point out the book is biased toward him, but if you live anywhere inside the US sphere of influence, everything is so anti-Cuba that the pro-Cuba influence here doesn't really matter. My main issue with the book is the amount of typos, including with dates. Otherwise, it's a decent but not amazing introduction to Che and his legacy.

Leerlo escuchando “Hasta siempre comandante” de Carlos Puebla, “La era está pariendo un corazón” “Fusil contra Fusil” de Silvio o “Elegía al Che Guevara” de Quilapayún, es un deleite, más aún, con las muy bien acabadas ilustraciones de Miguel Ángel Scenna.
Recomendable totalmente para admiradores del comandante. Hasta la victoria siempre...

okay. cómo partir.
primera vez que leo sobre el ché, antes de esto, sólo fueron cosas que siempre se mencionan, referencias en media que consumo. quise investigar desde hace un par de meses su figura ya que desde algunos lados me picaba la curiosidad fuera de cuál era el mito y la verdad, y cómo era la visión de fellow anarchists. antes sí me crucé con un artículo sobre que si eras homosexual, el ché te fusilaría, leí el título y nada más, su figura nunca me llamó ni interesó en mi lucha, y esa mancha misógina, homofóbica, aún más me alejaba.
desde este libro, que expreso mi gusto/disgusto/crítica desde el libro -un libro sobre su figura, y antes que crítica, son notas personales, que no deben considerarse conocedoras, como dije, literal no he leído nada de él fuera de cultura general-, antes que cómo está escrita la historia "real" o lo que narra su autor, que might be one sided too.
hoy pillé este libro en una biblioteca, vi que era corto y dije, bueno, llegó el día.
me parece burdo decir 'bueno' como revolucionario, tirarle flores y después no criticar su persona, que el. ya que justamente la gente que pide no centrarse en lo malo, es la que únicamente se centra en lo bueno, o la tonta 'no se puede criticar el pasado con ojos de hoy', que x haya sido común en y tiempo no lo hace más bueno o justificable, es entendible, pero no lo justifica. siempre prefiero ser crítique de figuras e ídolas/os/es antes que ponerles en pedestales. que es necesario destacar y recuperar lo que nos sirve, sí, pero también hay que reconocer sus otras facetas.
el libro estuvo interesante, como siempre para estas cosas, mucho hombre zzzz; preciso y abre muchas puertas a más indagación, a veces los dibujos y diálogos dan risa pero quizá es cosa mía, sí crea una base a la cuál afirmarse (supongo, espero; que complementé con mis conocimientos previos).
No sabía que Fidel confío en EEUU, lmao, ay mor, eso nunca se hace. well, go antiimperialism, fuck latifundistas, go mutual aid.
Encontré y coincidí con Guevara de acuerdo a los puntos escenciales de la guerrilla tho y varias de sus ideas, puedo ver por qué se le alaba tanto su figura, pero siento necesario el verificar desde otras fuentes estas versiones del Ché, ya que sí siento que se idealiza mucho. no pensé que me 'agradaría' tanto la verdad, si bien, esta es una pincelada, una primera capa de pintura a su idea. me queda seguir descubriendo su persona e ir comparando.

Definitivamente voy a tener que leer todos los libros "para principiantes", una colección bien preciosa para iniciar en el aprendizaje de diversos temas

I’m glad to know that books like this exist, but I found it a difficult read due to the writing and organization being quite sloppy. It felt more like a long-ish, very cut-and-dry pamphlet than a book. It was difficult to latch onto any kind of narrative thread. Nevertheless, it was an okay primer for learning about a very important figure.

This is a nice little book that tells the (somewhat romanticized) life story of Che Guevara in the form of a graphic novel. The book is less than 200 pages long, but it does give you a general view of Guevara's ideas and actions. Recommended as an introduction to the man or, for those already more familiar with Guevara, as a recap of the who, what and where.

Well, it's nicely illustrated to say the least and can be a good source to know Che Guevara if one doesn't know him at all, yet I think this biography is biased in favor of idolizing Che. And this comes from a fan of his! :D

I was given this book at a very young age by a teacher with an agenda. It is very pro- CHE and one sided. He is idealized, a few years later I was shocked to hear of the bad things he had done.

Highly enjoyable comic book version of Che Guevara's life. Both the text and the illustrations are at times kind of wonky, which just adds to its appeal.
