Surprisingly fun. You'd think with so little text being present on each page the adventure would suffer, but the plot threads are entertaining and atmospheric. The rough illustrations certainly don't hurt. Another big plus is the high internal consistency; you're exploring a world that does not change on the author's whim.

I'll probably continue with this series.

This is such an entertaining read for any and all ages. I think these, unfortunately, are not being written anymore which I think is a shame as this book is a real adventure. So many twists and turns it's so much fun.

I have fond remembrances of this book from childhood. My brother and I would read it to each other, and pass it back and forth after the one had chosen the next area. I would love to have this one again.
