Swimming with evocative imagery, Victoria's first published work of fiction offers the promise of things to come. Her style is terse and uncomplicated, but do not allow yourself to be lulled into thinking that the style is simplistic. She is able to hammer these diminutive sentences into tiny works of beauty and depth. The characters leap from the page, draw you in and lead you into their shimmering setting with comfortable ease. For a first outing, this is a fantastic job, and I encourage you to read Victoria's work (and urge her to give us more, as well). Brava!
