"Hello,I'm a self-proclaimed read-a-holic. I love most genres and would rather read than do most things. Stands to reason, that I'd have this inexplicable love affair with the written word!

Reading was the balm that soothed me during tough times as a single mother, working two jobs. As things leveled out, I found I enjoyed the places books took me, there was a certain solace learning about various times and cultures. When I began traveling, many of the places I visited felt like old friends. I could envision the characters from the books walking the cobbled streets, or running along the swift moving streams.

After twenty years of reading and collecting my favorite authors, I decided to indulge my passion for storytelling. I took classes, invested in seminars and sat nervously across the table from editors. It was a lengthy process, Finally, I got the courage to allow the market to judge my work. The market can be a brutal, but I think fair, mistress. Hard work is rewarded and appreciated. Slackers don't stand a chance. :-)."

Why would a man dying wife make him promise to still try for a baby after she's dead, I can see if it was through her frozen eggs or something but it wasn't. He had to do it by having sex with some strange woman he doesn't know, but the really crazy part, the part I couldn't understand and which having me rolling my eyes was the clause she put in that he should have sex with this woman once a week even after she got pregnant. Why would a wife do that, that baby won't be a part of her.

what wife would put that in a will. The woman could have been aids infested or just a scam artist, you can't find out everything about a person by those back ground checks.

I don't care the reason she had for doing it, she basically prostituted herself. His wife turned him into a john and her a prostitute. I really hate when this subject matter, about babies, is put into this kind of book.

I found I couldn't care about anyone in this story, just another porn wrapped up to look like romance.

This book for me was just okay! It had an interesting premise and some pretty good characters. But the story just grew stagnant for me. I can't put my finger on it.

Before you take time out of your day to read my review on this book, you should note a few things. One.. I am bias to books with extremely odd situations, I actually fall in love rather quickly with said books because.. it's different from the norm. Two... I enjoy reading about blended families.

Now..this book was hella odd, and next level weird. First, the situation surrounding the dead wife..okay can we just take a moment to simply say.. Annie was a basket case. At first I was like okay this chick is insane and then I thought... her husband is insane and whipped because no one in their right mind would agree to any of this, and no one would carry out a plan that is so freaking out of this world that all you could do was smile and repeat in your head "it's only a book, the situation can be hella odd and that's okay because it's just a freaking book"

I get the whole "I loved my wife like a fat kid loves cake" thing but Cannon was on my nerves for the first 30% of the book, I am like dude 2 years, I get it but still like what what he planning on doing, sitting in his house and wasting away... and then Karyn.. for her only to be 21-22 years old she handled her business like a boss. There isn't one time in this book were I was like... um well she is kinda immature.. nope didn't happen. I of course thought her agreeing to the terms of the contract was dumb, but the situation surrounding the need for her to sign.. I understood completely.

The whole rain, annie, cannon thing was... hate to sound like a broken record but it was INSANE. Annie wasn't the little ray of sunshine everyone thought she was lol. That tickled me because she was too perfect.. glad she got knocked down off that high horse.

What I did like... the ending, now I am glad everyone "got a father" so to speak but I was enjoying the whole blended family/little sister are pretty much my kid thing. But hey if that's the way the cookie crumbled then so be it. The ladies in this book are amazing and strong which is a BONUS!

Now if you enjoy situations that could not even begin to be real in my opinion but are fascinated by something a little different than the norm and how the author would be able to tie everything together, I would suggest this book. If you are a more of a "This isn't real at ALL and so unbelievable" type of reader.. I would highly suggest you stay away from this one.

Oh..and I hate the cover BTW..

I don't know if it was the narrator or narrator and the story but this book fell a little flat. There were some parts that held my interest by after a third of the way in I was ready for the book to end, I got bored. And since I was listening and not reading, so some parts just became background noise. The premise of the storyline was interesting but the writing and narrating didn't pull me in all the way.

Those promises turned into something else.

His promise to his deceased wife had a back story that let him know he really didn't know his wife Annie. He promised her that he would go on with his life and have their baby by a surrogate. Karyn was desperate to take care of her sisters and ailing aunt. The opportunity to be a surrogate was enough money to solve her problems. She was caught between a rock and a hard place. The twisting story surrounding the embryos revealed a plan Annie insisted that Flynn follow after her death but he found out there was more to the story as revealed by Annie's best friend Rain. Flynn and Karyn's relationship became closer during her pregnancy. He came to understand that it was okay to love the memories of his wife and love Karyn too.

Karyn's love of her sisters was tested with the scheming of her absentee mother Rachel. Flynn's family loved Bella and Taylor and adopted them into their hearts as family. They all wanted what was best for the girls. They were so sweet and deserved to be taken care of with love.

Flynn was really a controlling azz at the beginning of this story. The only person who supported Karyn with love and kindness was the house manager Alfreda and her Aunt Lanie. As the story evolved, more secrets were revealed that Flynn knew nothing about and he listened to his mother and sister's advice that he move on and do something about the memorial he had throughout his house. In the end, they welcomed a healthy baby but Rain, with her conniving and scheming plans blew up in her face, and Rachel got what she deserved too. With all the problems solved Flynn, and Karen can make plans for their future and family.

Good

Flynn Cannon loved hard, I wonder what would happen if Annie didn’t scheme all that surrogacy shenanigan. 🤔
Karyn is one heck of a young woman, smart, beautiful, intelligent and very responsible. There isn’t too many 21 yrs old college girls who would put their lives on hold and take care of 2 very young, babies really and their disabled aunt. Kudos to her 👍👍And that girl takes no prisoners,… Cannon couldn’t help falling for her and putting Annie’s ghost to rest. lol
That man was hanging to Annie’s Ghost so tight is a miracle the worms didn’t serve him papers for full custody. 😂😂😂
BTW, what’s Karyn majoring in ? She is almost done with her bachelor and going to grad school, for what??? Also, what’s the story behind Flynn’s parents divorce, Andrea is still bitter, and I love that woman, she is lovely and insightful.

Wonderful characters.🙌🙌

I love all the babies…, I didn’t see the ending coming, but I like it.
Can we expect some

Hot mess for sure...😏

From the initial Surrogacy plan to the circus of paternity tests and custody filings, a tangled nauseating mess. Cannon & Karyns' relationship at the start was so distasteful to me but they make it through the muck in the end. I wanted to like Annie but in the end her selfish manipulations, lies and duplicity were just awful. That the H&H found love despite the tawdryness of Annie & Rain and skank Rachel, was a minor miracle. I hated the separations in the end but there is a lot of Love to go around so everyone's future looks bright. This story for me was bittersweet and unsetteling.
Not too many typos and a realistic portrayal of people, perfectly imperfect. 😏

I am happy to say that i did not see the reviews of this title before i read it. If you are looking for boy meets, girl love boy and lives happily ever after this is not the one for you. The premise was one i was familiar with but the twists and turns this took was the most interesting i've seen so far.

Of course some of it was a bit Odd. Who would think of a dead wife leaving instructions for her husband. And he actually following it. But come on, won't you want to find out why?? I would and i did. I was thoroughly entertained!

Good story

This was a good story but felt the ending rushed. An epilogue would have been nice. The more I learned about Flynn's deceased wife, the more her light dimmed. Glad he came to terms with her manipulative ways as her loved her and she him. When he reconciled his feelings for Karyn the story got more interesting.

Enemies to lovers theme was pretty good and short lived. The romance is secondary and it's heavy on the drama side with multiple side plots. I did get a bit confused and felt like some things were left hanging and for reader assumption include of tight ends. Likeable characters with good chemistry just too much drama.

Fetish Dominant

This book really turned me off early in the beginning. It fetishes a black woman by a white woman. The idea of using her for making beautiful babies. Using a black female surrogate, Etc. It was just really weird. Then, although Flynn is young as well, the whole virgin/whore aspect mixed with the young age of Karyn was a bit much. Way too much going on.

🙂🙄😏

Actually I give the story 3 1/2 stars. The story was good but somewhat predictable. The sibling drama did play out rather differently and brought a little spice to the story. Will that make for future stories? One never knows!!!

This was an awesome read. Erosa tells a story of a promise that husband made to his dying wife and despite his objections and reservations, he tries to keep that promise. Karyn has taken on the job of being a surrogate. She is willing to do what it takes to take care of her family and she accomplishes that. She is responsible for her two young sisters and her ailing aunt. She is a very strong character. Cannon who is the male lead is stubborn and quite determined in the beginning, but comes around. I became wrapped up in the emotions of all the characters and the twists of the story. The side characters/plots make the book a little more interesting and draws out the emotions of the main characters.

The story line was tender and touching with a few areas of drama. There were a lot of side characters in this read. But in my opinion, it makes it that much better. This was a very good read and we highly recommend it.

Wasn’t an enemies to lovers story to me.

Flynn Cannon's commitment to honor a promise made to his late wife, Annie, leads him to uncover a web of secrets. The story revolves around the complexities of surrogacy, as Flynn confronts the reality that his cherished wife harbored secrets that shattered his world. The protagonist, Karyn Whitney, becomes a surrogate to provide for her family, leading to unexpected connections and profound revelations. The dynamic between Annie and her best friend, Rain, adds a layer of intrigue to the story. As Flynn peels back the layers of Annie's past, he uncovers a truth that challenges everything he thought he knew about his wife. The author's skillful prose draws readers into a world where the line between truth and deception blurs, leaving them guessing until the final page. With compelling characters and unexpected twists, this captivating read will stay with readers long after they've turned the last page.

Erosa Knowles surely knows how to tell a good tale. I loved this story from beginning to end. It was so heart warming in the beginning the way Karyn stepped up to take care of her family. The things she did, not many women would put their lives on hold to do. Her and Cannon...whew, fanning myself. They started out hating each other, but that quickly changed with their first night. They had some kind of fiery passion going on. I loved all the family interactions coming from both Karyn's and Cannon's families. I think there are a lot more stories to tell here, and Erosa Knowles should definitely turn this into a series. Cannon's sis Jan would make an interesting story, Andrei and Stanton....their lives with their new daughters will certainly be an interesting read. I think those cousins would light the pages on fire. Can't wait to read more.

four and a half stars for effort. A few grammatical errors that could be overlooked. This book was serious but hilariously funny ( if those two words can go together.) It was different from the usual IR books about babies. I really liked it. The last two books I read was about the mob so I wanted something refreshing and exciting and this did it for me. a full length book with 498 nook pages. The sex scenes were hot and steamy too.

This was such a great read. I loved both Karyn and Flynn and their story was intriguing and engrossing. Erosa Knowles stories are always more than just a love story there is always some sort of thriller or detective element to her stories that keep you hooked to the last page. I highly recommend this book!

4 stars. A unique plot: Flynn, a rich widower employs- Karyn , a struggling college dropout to be a surrogate mother to his child-what a novel idea. The story was well written with lots of drama coming from the minor characters whose stories enhanced the main character's story. The story did not get too bogged down with useless dialogue. This was an interesting and enjoyable read.
