When Nikki Reed walks into Mark Harrison's office, she's there to sell out. Nikki is finally ready to give up her dream of being a professional artist and get a sensible 9-5 job. Working in marketing probably won't be so bad, especially with a hot boss like Mark.

Only it's Detective Harrison, and Nikki's in the wrong office.

Mark is hot on the trail of notorious art thief Ghost, and when Nikki's art knowledge proves useful, she finds herself dragged along for the adventure.

As she starts to fall for Mark's brilliance and gruff kindness, Nikki knows she has to fight it - Mark is a workaholic who clearly isn't interested in a serious relationship. And while Mark finds himself wanting to investigate Nikki as closely as one of his cases, he knows the consequences could be dire if he gets too close.

Because every detective has a past, and the secrets in Mark’s could prove deadly for both of them.

I absolutely loved this storyline! An no it is not your “Fifty Shades” walk in an office meet a hot guy kinda story… there’s a lot more to it! There is adventure, turmoil, fear, and love.

I just love Nikki! She knew what she wanted in life, and was about to give up on it when fate steps in. She gets to enjoy her love of art in an entire new aspect. She also has a past… which don’t we all!

Mark is such a guy, but one that has been hurt. He tries to keep his feelings at bay. He is a PI, and good at it. He doesn’t need distractions. One item he does need is sleep! Which I thought to myself… there is a reason for that!!!!

This book was full of adventure. I loved how it wasn’t your typical romance novel. There was a lot more to it! It was more about how the past effects the present, and how it can continue to impact your future. This story will keep you on your toes, is well written, exciting, scary, nerve racking, and an AWESOME READ!!!! I highly recommend that you read and 1-click Detect Me by Selma Wolfe today!

Out of work artist Nikki Reed is desperate for a job, on her way to an interview she walks into the wrong office and finds herself face to face with a masterpiece in person, Detective Harrison. Detective Harrison is on the hunt for a notorious art thief and Nikki's expertise is just what he is looking for. As the trail to the art thief get's hot so does the attraction between the two. But not everything is as it seems, Detective Harrison has a secret, one that could put them both in harms way.

First of all I have to say that I loved the easy flow that Detect Me had. It was easy for me to get caught up in the story, especially the chemistry between the two lead characters Nikki and Mark. I think Selma Wofe did a great job of giving me an insight into both of the characters with the way that she told the story from both POV's. And it wasn't an every other chapter thing either, she alternated POV's in the middle of the chapter. And usually that would bug me, but Selma Wolfe did it with such finesse that I found myself loving it!

I also loved that despite the instant attraction between the two characters there wasn't an instant you are the love of my life moment. The attraction and relationship grew over the period of the story. I found both characters intriguing and really enjoyed getting to know each of them. And I secretly really loved the secrets that Mark was hiding. I loved the tension that it brought to the story.

However, I am a little confused on how Mark became a detective and wished that more emphasis was given on his past. This is a character that I really want to know and I want to believe in but with his background I have a trouble seeing how he ended up as a detective. And despite loving the story I did have a few technical issues with the moments that involved police officers. I am not an expert in police procedure but I don't think what was written was completely accurate. But I do understand what Selma Wolfe was going for. All in all those moments didn't get in the way of my enjoyment!

Detect Me was a fast paced read that was over in the blink of an eye. It had adventure, suspense, a little mystery and just enough romance to leave me wanting more. Detect Me is perfect for that quick weekend read.

What initially attracted me to this book was the wrong-place-right-time theme. It seemed very coincidental and I liked it. After struggling for a year in New York and not being able to achieve a successful art career, Nikki Reed decided to go for a pen-pushing job in a marketing company but instead of landing a nine to five boring job, she mixed up her interview room and ended up helping a freelance detective, Mark Harrison, by partially solving a crime case and ultimately catching the infamous art thief named Ghost.

I loved Nikki. She was smart, quick on her feet and extremely bright. Given that at times she didn't have a filter and regretted what she said the next minute, I still loved how nice and caring she was to Mark, even though he was a stranger to her. She pulled in her contacts on time and really made an effort to be helpful. I loved her sincerity and passion for art. Honestly, Nikki would have made a better detective than Mark. As for him, I don't even know where to start. One: He was a too frightened and scared person to be in a field like that. I get that something bad happened in his past to make him act like an immature and paranoid officer but he should have quit or taken a break instead of stressing himslelf. Two: Mark shouldn't have kept any secrets related to Ghost to himself. He knew that thief on a personal level yet never shared his story with Nikki, which I thought was stupid and created unnecessary misunderstandings. So besides Mark, everything worked wonderfully in this book and I enjoyed the overall package.

Detect Me is a short length book and a delightful afternoon read. One of my favorite element in this story was the gradual relationship between the couple. Nikki and Mark had hots for each other since their first meeting but I absolutely loved that they didn't give into their feelings until they knew each other well enough. Plus, I loved that the story was told from dual POV's and not once did I find anything confusing. Kudos to the author for pulling that off. Detect Me by Selma Wolfe is recommended to readers who enjoy quick reads with an engaging plotline and a realistic romance.

Very interesting book, I'll say that, this is the second time I have read it actually, once on my friends eReader, then on my own. It was my first book that I owned on my eReader, I read it in just one day. I must say, it was set out in a very good way, it pulled me in like no other, I loved how both characters broke through their fears and overcame things, I loved it. But in my term what is the hardest about ending a single book, is the ending, now I loved it, expect for maybe how she didnt say 'I love you' back... Im not sure, but she does say it in other ways, but what's like no other, when you say 'I love you' its like a spell, its magic even, but the author does cut off the ending very quick, but I think it was a good way to end it.

But besides that, overall I give it a full 5 out of 5 stars, I loved it passionately.

I read this book in a couple of nights. I loved it! It was extremely well written, funny at times, flowed well... and a what beautiful love story. I fell in love with Mark too! Wow, when the author has me on the edge of my seat just waiting for a kiss... The sexual tension in this book was through the roof! It had a great plot besides the love story and there was plenty of action. I would have loved to read on to see what happened after the end but the book really didn't need it... I was left very satisfied and happy for the couple. I think this is a series, and if so, I need the next book now!

After reading countless romance novels and chick lit, it's nice to read a novel with some convincing character development. Obviously we read romance for escapism, but it's hard to enjoy a novel that is too far-fetched (and full of unrealistically perfect characters). The first kiss in "Detect Me" is TO DIE FOR. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from Selma Wolfe.

I think this author didn't do her research very well. The procedures for the police, everything was such a joke. Same with the whole detective thing. It was amusing for a while but after that, it got old quick.

Am I misunderstanding something or does the author/the characters really think that Amsterdam is in Iceland?
