Twenty-three years have passed since Frankie Graves' Fourth of July killing spree. Those who lived through it would like to leave Frankie and their terrible memories buried in the past. But Frankie's awake again, and this time he has a new plan. He's hiding in plain sight among Hartfield's punk rock teenagers, and only the few survivors from the '50s have any idea just how dangerous he really is.
Will they be able to unravel the mystery around Frankie and stop him for good, or will Fourth of July, 1981, turn out to be a terrifying repeat of the past?
Frankie Graves Part Two mixes all the bloody fun of an '80s slasher movie with the rock'n'roll greaser style of the '50s. Slasher fans rejoice, old school horror is back!

This is an entertaining conclusion to this slasher duology. I particularly love thos narrative structure of these which smashes together the 1980s with the 1950s.
My newer preferences for literary fiction holds this back from being a five star read, but I have no criticisms of this work outside of my preference for more literary pieces. This author clearly set out to make a fun slasher story and has succeeded in those goals.
This duology is a great place to start for readers who want to try this author's work.
Disclaimer I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
I’m glad I chose to give Part One a 5 star rating because you really have to read both books as a whole to enjoy the narrative. Part Two is more fast-paced and exciting but you needed the back story to get there.
All I will say at this point is that Cameron NEEDS to put out more Year of Blood stories and more books in general because his output is just so much fun! At the end of Frankie Graves Part Two, he hinted that a Halloween book was in the works… I can’t wait!!!
I very much enjoyed this second installment of Frankie Graves. It started out with a bang, and didn't really let up. The first part was a little slow, but this one had very good pacing. I loved that the massacres from the other books from the Year of Blood series were mentioned. This is also a really good 4th of July set of books to read if you're wanting a good summer, 4th of July themed slasher. My only complaints for this book are: I didn't feel that the whole grandma, witchy thing was really tied up and deep-dived more. It felt somewhat like a loose end. I would have liked a bit more of an explanation into what was really going on with his grandma and her children. I also hated that Cheryl and Dennis had fallen off so badly. That was a real bummer. I wanted to see them find their way back. Also, the ending note says Cameron Roubique still has Halloween to consider for the Year of Blood series, but it's been a few years now and he seems to have disappeared from social media, so I'm not sure what's happening, and I hate that it doesn't look there will be any new books anytime soon.
Frankie Graves has escaped his watery grave and is out for revenge. This is a great follow up to the first Frankie Graves novel. Full of suspense and scares.
Exhilarating conclusion to the Frankie Graves story. A ludicrously entertaining blend of slasher flicks from the 80s and old school 50s EC Comics horror stories- it's gotta be Cameron's best book yet, go read both parts!
