Five hundred years in the future, a smart, high-spirited and hard-drinking young woman begins a tour of the Solar System with a centuries-old mad scientist, who has employed her in a project that will change the course of trans-human history. The two face the dangers not only of hostile otherworldly environments, but of human treachery, as unscrupulous corporate powers seek to learn what this scientist is up to. Collects the first 400 strips of the popular serial-adventure webcomic by Scott Bieser.
This is the first time I've ever read an on-line comic. I spend so much time with computers, I prefer to get away from them when I read. But, reading this on a tablet worked well for me.
The story got me hooked right away. It should appeal to fans of Doctor Who or Star Trek and similar things. (In fact one main character looks, and to some extent behaves, like the fourth doctor, and another looks like Uhura. Those are intentional references, but these are different characters and the story is an original one.)
I, who can barely draw a stick figure, am amazed that someone could produce enough quality drawings to keep a story going on the web day after day for several years. But he does it, and does it well. Lots of detail in the drawings.
Great start to the series. The art is fun, and I love the high-tech transhuman world building. I think I will use some of the ideas in my next GURPS Transhuman Space game.
I followed this series online for years. It's still ongoing. I've started buying the books to make rereading them easier. Ya gotta love this story line.
I got into "QV" in the current volume online, begin confused I had to read the story at the beginning. Before this I was dropped into a very deep, well thought out plot with multiple characters. This explains a lot of the why's but I still have questions, so its volume 2 on the Murphy thread of the story for me. Highly recommended.
I read this online. At first, I intended to read a few a day to catch up to current (past Vol 1), but it sucked me in often and I finish several hundred strips quickly. It is creative and full of interesting references. Highly recommended.
