Andi was doing just fine on her own. Sure the world had been hit with an outbreak that turned anyone infected into flesh eating zombies. Not to mention that everyone she ever loved was now dead. She was alive though, taking care of herself. She had little desire to indulge in building relationships with anyone. People just couldn't be trusted. Whether they screwed you over intentionally, or just managed to get themselves killed, no one stuck around for very long. She didn't need anyone else either. That was until Will showed up to save her.

Will, with his sparkling green eyes, lips you just wanted to taste, and insanely adorable crooked smile, wasn't letting Andi get rid of him so easily. Yet still, Andi did everything she could to push her feelings, and Will, away. The more time they spent together though, the more difficult that became. In a world where another day was not something you could count on, wasting even a single moment, could mean missing out on your only chance for happiness.

Dude, seriously! Brace yourselves people, I feel a hardcore rant coming on and it's filled with spoilers so as a summary for those who don't want to see them, in a nutshell I liked the writing of the author like others of my bad-review giving ilk, but I uber hated the shit out of the heroine. A..hem, let us begin...oh and there's belligerent language about to be involved too I'm sure, so now you've been properly forewarned.

To sum up the book: a pretty well-written story about an emotional ditz and the people unfortunate enough to cross her path, insert zombie apocalypse here and there.

If our author had given much more thought to the apocalypse she wanted to set the novel in and built us a solid protagonist with substance instead of silly girl thoughts then this would've been a serious force to contend with. That's the problem with an apocalypse I guess, readers expect the survivors to know a thing or two about...surviving.

And the award for most annoying female in a zombie apocalypse goes to.....

MOST ANNOYING FEMALE MC POSSIBLE

It's sad when you immediately hope the mc dies, isn't it?!?

Get to know her...

So we meet her in a dog kennel surrounded by zombies. Will, a stranger, saves her ass. She immediately walks off without even a 'thanks motherfucker,' citing how you can't trust, depend, or get attached to anyone. He follows her bitchy ass anyway, and then saves her a second time. #ungratefulbitch

She decides it may be okay to have him around for a minute, but is adamant that they will not be friends nor will she ever trust him. On this note, she brings him to where she has food and weapons stockpiled (lmao) in one of the few, if only, places with fing water. Smart!! Really smart! Hell, she even decides to show him said weapons and let him 'play with them.' Keep in mind this chick says how no one is to be trusted around 100 mantra times in first 15%. #TSTLbitch

Bam... Insta handholding and suddenly he is such a wondermous guy!!! #isshe12?

Well, until her dumb ass doesn't listen to his safety advice and gets herself kidnaped while she's taunting him about being a big baby. Because he , unarmed, didn't "do something to save her" from two armed and much bigger guys, suddenly he is back to being an untrustworthy "selfish bastard." Yes, it's all his fault that he wasn't willing to die for her, whom he's known all of 24 hours, so she might could get away. #nowords

She's ignorant. She's annoying. She's hypocritical. She's what you'd get if you tried to candy coat a gummy bear with ghost pepper sauce.

As time goes on, she just gets worse. I really didn't think it was possible, but it was!

Incessant crying, whining, bitching, jealous fits, idiocy, etc. AND, it's all on repeat with her saying the same shit over and over and over!

She sounds like she's 12-years-old - no, he can't like me... He likes the other girl... He's so hot... I hate him... Oh, I wish I could get my first kiss... I'll run away unarmed... Could this be love. Blah... Blah... Blah... And blah!

She runs off without weapons. Goes through zombie land yapping away like it's a Dr. Phil episode. Even has to be carried piggyback by Dan (clearly the love pentagram's fifth wheel) when they all go on a scouting recon because she's tired. And, I'm supposed to believe she survived 2 years on her own when she has to be carried (un-injured mind you) by a guy. Nah, blow that smoke somewhere else!!!

Male Mc Could Be A Chick Dressed As A Dude?!?

I've never read a book with a male mc crying and pouting so much. He's mid-twenties? Really? Uh... No! #pansy #screechhasmoresexappeal

Hello, Polyamorous?

If she said this shit once, she said it 100 times... Dan is so hot. Dan is so sweet. Dan is so sexy. BUT I'm crazy about Will. If I didn't *love* Will so much, I'd *love* Dan. #lame

She's cuddling Dan up multiple times, but is supposed to like Will. All this cuddling, kissing, "sweetheart," and "baby" stuff between Dan and she was fing weird, gross, and so unbelievable if she really wanted Will. No one would be okay with that shit from the person they are "with."

Bottom Line

From the book cover to the characters to what little plot was here... All of it was just awful. This book is like an old episode of Saved By The Bell set to the zombie apocalypse.

I'm going to read on... But, only because I have a twisted wish to see this chick either have a wake up call and grow the fuck up ~or~ to read about her death.

4.5 Apocalyptic Stars

~Arc was provided by author in exchange for an honest review~

Andi is 18 years old, she lives alone because everyone she loved is dead. She has no desire to stick with a group because in a Zombie Apocalypse no can be trusted! That is, until Andi finds herself trapped in a dog cage with zombies surrounding her and trying to make her their next meal. Will, who is also traveling alone, come across trapped Andi and saves her by killing all the zombies.
"I guess this would have been the end of me if not for my knight in shining armor. And by knight and in shining armor, I mean a tall boy wearing combat boots, ripped black jeans and a black t-shirt with a pretty pink pony smack in the middle."

After being saved by Will, Andi going with her gut tries to send him on his away but Will sticks around, feelings for one another quickly form between Andi and Will. Through their travels they come across Janet and Dan old friends that they've met along the way. Can love survive jealousy, hate, rage and lust while in the middle of a zombie apocalypse?
It's the one thing that's never changed. When everything is different and the whole world sucks, you can look up and it's the same. The same stars I looked at with my dad in the backyard when I was little, the same ones above the lake on Saturday night when everyone hung out having a great time, without having a care in the world. It's the only thing."

Save me was a great read a story filled with fear and hope. You will feel the drama unfold while gripping your e-reader and never wanting to put the book down.
"No matter what happens Will, I want you to know how much you mean to me. You've saved me."

I love zombie apocalypse books its my favorite genre, I highly recommend this book to the new zombie readers out there its a much lighter zombie book, so don't be afraid. lol And if you are a zombie freak like me, well I promise you it wont disappoint! All in all a great book and I cant wait to read book #2 to see what the future holds for Andi, Will, Janet and Dan.

"The moment I first saw you, trapped in that dog cage, I knew that you would be the one to save me. That very moment, you became my salvation."

This review will sound conflicted because it is indeed a conflicted review. My thoughts are that lost on the matter. Save Me is a zombie apocalypse romance novel. It started off well. The description was good but I failed to connect with the main heroine. A few things bothered me. How she met the hero and took him back to her place after a year of not being there bothered me. It bothered me because here was this perfectly good sheltered place that she could’ve been living in for the past year and instead she wasn’t? I don’t get that. She had solar panels and a basement stocked full of supplies and weapons. I just don’t see someone leaving a place that sheltered with protection during a zombie apocalypse no matter the bad memories. So once there… they connect… she’s blind to his attraction and affection. More characters come into play and she starts getting jealous and then he starts getting jealous of the affection she’s getting from another secondary character. For an apocalypse novel there was way too much whining and not enough blood, guts and glory. Now, even though the story itself didn’t capture me; the writing did. It was actually pretty flawless. Word usage was superb. That is where I will sound conflicted. But it’s the truth, the writing was good enough to keep me reading the story even though it wasn’t for me. If the book would have been longer and less whiny with more connection… I would be dubbing this a 5 star read. This Author is one to watch because if this writing is applied to a longer, less rushed story… it will be a five star read I’m sure of it. I imagine this is only the beginning for this author and I will look forward to reading more. This is just my opinion; this review is… just that. My opinion. Look forward to seeing more.

Review of Save Me by L J Baker
Copy provided by author in exchange for honest review.

Save me is the debut story for L J Baker, I have to admit most times I am nervous to read first books because it’s hit or miss. This book grabbed me from the start. Baker has a talent for making you feel like you are right there with her characters as the scenes play out. Save Me is more than just the typical romance novel; it is an exciting adventure into what reality would look like for the Average Joe during a zombie apocalypse.

Baker has created characters that make you cheer for their successes and rage at them when they are making mistakes. Andi is a tough-as-nails on the outside, soft-and-squishy on the inside kind of girl. Her incredible sense of humor and level of snark will have you laughing from page one.
Will, her knight in pink pony armor (I promise it will make sense when you read it!) will have you falling into book boyfriend love.

Without giving much of the story away, the supporting characters Janet and Dan will take you through many emotions- hate, lust, rage, fits of girlish giggles, acceptance, and so much more. You will just have to read to see the beauty in the drama that unfolds. One thing will be a constant throughout… no matter who saves who you will read it to the end wondering if they will ever save each other.

Save Me is a must read debut novel that I give a full Five Stars! Not only did I fall in book boyfriend love, but book boyfriend lust enough that I considered being a cougar might not be such a bad thing! GrawOr!

I received this book for an honest review. I really gave this a 3.75 rating but I rounded up :)

OK I must first say I am not a HUGE YA reader but I did enjoy this story. When a fellow blogger mentioned needing some reviews of a zombie book with a love story, I said YES PLEASE!! I love zombies love stories and the Walking Dead.

When I started reading this story it was a little slow to get going. Andi and Will were kinda living in the same space and dealing with their reality. Then Andi is kidnapped by not very nice cousins who want her for "companionship" to put it nicely. Will saves the day and then he and Andi have a "moment". I was waiting for that first kiss but it didnt happen. Then Will gets a bit douche and is pulling away. When I get really angry at him is when JANET shows up....growl JANET!!!! So they have a "history" and she is defo giving off the Will is Mine vibe to Andi. Andi is sooo confused, as was I. She thinks Will likes her but he is sleeping in bed with Janet at night?????? So I begin to notice I can't put this book down. I am totally and completely invested in the book. I will say I was shocked at how fast I got completley wound up and stressed!!!! Which is the marking of a great book right????? So anyway, the angst is ramping up and my emotions area alllll over the place. When I am totally confused and stressed out over Andi/Will/Janet comes Dan....*rolls tongue back in to my mouth* Dan puts the moves on Andi and Will gets jealous!! WHUT!!! I am like Andi and confused totally. Well Dan and Andi talk and straighten things out. When the Dan/Andi and Andi/Will and Will/Janet mess is finally revealed I was happy. So I think Wow that was great but wait...there is still more to the story!!!! So the 4 decided to make their way to a medical/military base to get support and maybe have a real life??? OMG then the story gets intense again......they get trapped by a horde.....OMG this was a great book but I am left kinda hanging as to the end....is there more to this story? i hope so because I want to know what happens with everyone.....

When I first found out that this is a zombie apocalyptic book, I was terrified. I'm not much of a zombie fan. I nearly crapped myself watching the Walking Dead tv series, but it's kind of like you're witnessing a terrible accident happening and you just can't turn away despite being terrified to death? Walking Dead is like that for me. It scares me. I couldn't be alone for a while (big wimp I know). Did it stopped me from watching it? Hell no. In fact, I'm addicted. I need those freaking zombies whether if I like it or not.
So when I stumble upon this book, I was kinda happy and terrified at the same time. I want to feel that goosebump creeping into me. But what did I get? Nada.
Dude. Post apocalyptic world. It's suppose to be terrifying, running for your lives kind of situation. But this book hardly mentions much about the gore, about the scariness of the zombies or any goosebumps inducing scenarios. In fact, this twit of a heroine seems to skip around in daylight without much of a weapon and still lives the day. Wtf? Sometimes, I wish that the heroine, Andi gets eaten by a zombie just to see some action happening.
I think Ms. Baker aims for the heroine to have a snarky attitude. She's more like a spoiled brat to me.
For example, Andi refuses to kill a child zombie despite that little killer hobbling towards her like she's chow meat and Will, the hero got pissed at her. And Andi was like, 'dude, why are you pissed?'.
Correct quotes are: 'I don't know why he was being such a jerk. He knew it was difficult for me. Why did he need to push so hard?'
wtf man. Andi, you're surviving the zombie apocalypse. Duh! It's hardly the time and place to be picky!
And also, Will tries to save her sorry ass many times and she ended up getting pissed.
'He really was being an ass. How long did I need to be punished for one little mistake? He was being a little ridiculous now, holding a grudge this long over me going upstairs without him'.
This nice guy tries to save her life and she's being a bitch about it *smh*.

Overall, it was a pretty short read although I could've used that time to read other books. Or re-watch my asian dramas.

I finished this book but it was very frustrating to see this young woman with no self esteem complaining and acting like this is a normal world, yet thinks she could just refuse help if offered, run off by herself into a zombie infected area, get herself taken by bad guys, get rescued and still her biggest worry is if this guy likes her. I know; I just wrote a huge run on sentence. You can imagine my frustration with this young woman. It is such that I am not continuing with the second book because I can't listen to this girl worrying about if anyone likes her, if she can trust a guy who has saved her life.

So this primarily a romance. The zombies are just a little extra.
I can't really even like this girl and see no reason for the young man to like her either other than the fact that she is the only girl his age he has met and that they have shared time together. She insists she needs nobody but she obviously needs help to survive . She is a bit of a brat.
It was well written and I would read other books by this author but probably won't read more in this series.
So I am giving this three stars but probably two and a half would before accurate. Rounding up.

Save me drew me in and kept my heart pounding page after page. Watching Andi's life unfold in her unique zombie apocalypse, I was in a never-ending cycle of terror, tears, and exhausted relief! Definitely not the best decision to read before bed! You'll thrill when Andi is saved by green-eyed charmer, Will, and grip your book or Kindle in horror imagining friends and family eaten alive! LJ Baker has begun an exciting new series destined to be a success! I'm sure I'm not the only one who can't wait for the sequels! That's the frustrating part, great new authors, with great new stories, can't possible keep up with how fast their fans can devour their books! This one is sure to make me a Facebook stalker constantly checking to see when the next one will be out!

I found it to be repetitive, predictable, and completely unbelievable. The characters were so stereotypical and shallow, there was no development or story arc here. They met, they fell in love in moments, and then nothing. There were small spats that were absurd (if this girl really had been fighting zombies and meeting all these different groups for almost two years, she should be less of an absolute moron). It was silly.

I remember when I encounter this book cover, I liked its colour palette and the whole edgy end of the world feeling it had. When I read the synopsis I was into a romantic little zombieland journey, you know to freshen up my mind after a crazy year, can you imagine my surprise at the fact this content had also some hard topics and painful situations going on for the main character, not only love related ones but loss and death related traumas that I loved reading about since it brought me to tears many times.
I COULD SMELL THE YA-NESS.
Don’t get me wrong, it was kinda funny feeling upset by the reckless decisions of the main character and the insta-love with some abusive boyfriend alerts popping up, it was entertaining to see how these little aspects that would be imperceptible for teenage me were now so obvious and kinda threatening. I mean this was probably written in 2012, so I can understand how much of a hybrid this was (half Wattpad, half real book) not caring about girls actually believing this is love and this is how you must respond to a new relationship, by becoming submissive and totally submit to his decisions and bruise provoking handles. I mean the story is good, and I like the main character a lot, but well, let’s say this is not for teenagers of today (2021) because its romantic message is kinda dangerous and sexist.
SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR TV.
The plot, surroundings, and zombie context is perfect for a TV show. No joke, something for the CW. I can see it been developed, of course with some updates to today’s technology, since well nobody uses MP4s anymore so perhaps an iPhone would be enough for Andi as a souvenir from her previous life, and well guns would be okay in this context too. I could see the sarcasm and little action-fueled shooting moments it would have, I can fucking see it adapted for TV and becoming a hit.

Why does Andi have to be annoying

I really wish Andi was a less whiney annoying character. If she didn't spend so much time making bad decisions this book could have been rated much higher in my opinion. I love a zombie apocalypse story and slow moving living dead are my favorite kind. It makes way more sense to me that a bunch of 20 somethings (19 in Andi's case) with zero military training could survive as long as they have when the flesh eaters move slow enough to take out at distance. And this book did that really well.
But still I just have to talk about why I disliked Andi. Because I like tropes, I don't mind at all when a character has a "prepper" father with a dooms-day shelter or that there was insta chemistry between the M/F main characters. I don't even mind when they throw in an antagonistic female character to be the antithesis of the main character...except that in this case I kept siding with Janet. Andi was annoyingly reckless and made every dumb decision she possibly could. Then not only was Will falling over himself for her but when you throw Dan in the mix... I almost gave up. Honestly I liked the plot and writing style enough that I'm probably going to read the next book...I'm a sucker for a cliffhanger I don't like things left unfinished. But I'm already preparing myself to say goodbye if Andi doesn't mature a lot between novels.

Immature characters, they all acted like they were around 10 instead of 20 they were clueless about pretty much everything. The book concentrates on their teenage drama and puppy love instead of something that actually matters, the whole thing was silly. But with all that said the writing itself was not half bad, with more mature characters, or if they at least shown some growth and an actual story where they have a plan a goal something to achieve it could have been something great.

Good writing

The author is a very good writer and although the main female character is a whiny, insecure, irritating person, the story rolled along like a YA story gathering speed until chapter 9. And Janet. The story which was loosely apocalyptic until then ( more of a romance with a few zombies thrown in) got tedious. I have eat the rest at a fast somewhat skimpy pace just to get it over with.

New Discovery

I was looking for a new apocalyptic romance series and came across this book. So far so good. The author has built up the characters sufficiently to engage me in their journey and be concerned about their future. On to book two. Great world building.

LOVED it! Read in one sitting. Review to follow soon :)

This book was originally reviewed on The Book Hookup.

**I received a copy from the author but that did not influence the review**

First Thoughts: 4.5 stars Oh swoony swoony swoony. This book reminded me of all the reasons I love YA, AND it’s apocalyptic FTW!

Plot, Setting, Pacing and Style: Loved the storyline. The zombie-apocalypse began 2 years ago, and it appears there is no end or cure in sight. Andi has been on her own for a while now, and nearly gets taken down by the flesh eaters when swoony Will comes in with his cross bow and ends the monsters who were closing in on her. He is alone as well, and after some persistence Andi is worn down and lets Will stay with her. This is a fight for survival, and at the same time we get to see their relationship blossom.

The setting is exactly what you would expect for a zombie apocalypse. Houses have been ransacked, people are wearing old clothes, food is scarce. It’s awful and depressing. And I loved it! There’s obviously more details about their surroundings, but I’d rather you read about the home base and enjoy it for yourself.

The pacing was slightly rushed, but how else could it go? No one knew if they were going to live to see the next day. Honestly, I totally dug it and wouldn’t want it any other way.

The style was my fave: 1st person. (It’s actually getting to a point for me that I get sad when a book is in 3rd person.) I loved Andi’s voice, loved hearing her fears, her desires, and feeling them for myself. If I hadn’t been in her head I might not have liked her as much as I did. :)

The MCs: Andi was a great female protagonst. Now, she definitely annoyed me on more than one occasion, but I still adored her. I am just going to blame it on immaturity and the fact that she was alone for so long. Once she decided that she really did want Will, she let go of the games and it was great. She is also pretty brave, but she really didn’t have any alternative if she wanted to survive.

Will, ooooooh, let’s talk about him. He has black waves of hair and green eyes that seem to pierce through Andi. You know what though, I don’t know what his body looked like. What? Yes, ladies, I don’t know! I assume he was muscular, but gah, there were no descriptions if he was lean or broad. I do know that he smelled delicious though. He is fiercely protective, and at first he doesn’t even know why himself, he just knows he has to protect her. He is also so selfless, and more than willing to just take care of Andi. Then, when he seemed slightly unsure of how Andi felt, his insecurities showed through….but once he found out Andi felt something for him… let’s just say he gets confident in a very smexy way that helps with her shyness. RAWR!

“Tell me Andi,” He spoke slowly, dragging out each word until I felt like my legs would give out from the tension. “When you blew out your candle, what did you wish for?”

Romance /Chemistry: Yes and please. That was the most perfect first kiss I have read about in a long, long time. I would quote it here, but frankly, you need to experience it for yourself. Just trust me, it’s really good. I can’t wait to see them get even closer (*cough in more ways than one cough*).

Title/Cover: Perfect and perfect. Andi needed saving for so many reasons, and it turns out that Will needed some saving too. The cover is beautiful and sweet. I love it.

Ending: le sigh. It ended in a great spot, and at first I was thinking it was a stand alone novel (it could be), but I asked Ms. Baker and she said there’s a 2nd book on the way *whispers* and maybe a 3rd.

Gripes/suggestions: Andi is a little annoying, but you know what, I don’t know what she looks like. I know she didn’t think she was stunning, but did she have brown or blond hair? What color were her eyes?

Final Thoughts/Rec It? YES!! It was a great read, lots of action and of course the swoony romance. You know what I am kind of hoping for? A story with Dan!! *looks over to Ms. Baker* That would be a great final installment :)

I just finished reading Save Me by LJ Baker and the only word that comes to mind is Awesome!
I really enjoyed it. It is not my typical read and you should never turn a book away because of that or you would miss out.

Andi has been alone for awhile after a attack turning people into zombies. Will has been alone for awhile too and he ends up saving Andi while she is in the middle of an zombie attack that you know that if he didn't show up, she would have ended up dead.

I loved the story line. Zombies. We have all seen it in the movies. As you can imagine, one bite and you are toast. This story follows Will and Andi trying to survive and meeting friends from the past along the way.

The secondary characters were cool too. I really liked Dan and Janet. Some people add characters into the mix to keep the dialogue going. I really didn't see that here. They were definitely apart of the story and needed to be there for us to get the backstory of Will.

I felt sorry for all of them. It makes you imagine what you would do if this was something that did happen in the world. I know Andi at times made some bad choices that could have caused more problems that what did happen, but I had to put myself in her place. We were 18 once, we sometimes thought about just ourselves no matter the situation that we were in. She was alone and had to take care of herself even if it was the wrong choice. She is leaning more towards Will now and Im grateful for that. When you get older you learn to do that and make better choice when there is more the one person to think about.

I cannot wait for sequel, cant wait to see what happens!!!
Would recommend this book for anyone up for a good read that is fast paced, good writing and a good plot!

3.5 Stars From Me!

Zombies, zombies and more zombies. What wouldn't be fun when it comes to beating someone to death? Well, considering these 'someones' are already dead, it would still be fun! At least if you aren't running for your life. And that is what is happening with Andi, trying to stay alive in a world that everyone is trying to kill you.

While I usually enjoy the different books that are out there, there are not that many zombie books that I have found. This one was different that is for sure, so of course I signed up to read it! Some parts of the book I completely enjoyed, other parts though I didn't really like and skimmed over a bit. There were some parts where, as funny as this may sound, it felt like there were too many characters taking place in a scene at a certain time.

Certain scenes of the book, Andi comes off as a little brat. I'm sorry but its true, to me at least. Will's character was very strong, and I think that certain parts of the book were really pulled off because of him. Other than that the other characters in the book did pull their own 'weight' I suppose you can say and end up making the story work out.

The storyline itself was original in itself, I enjoyed how the author used the doomsday preppers actually having a reason for freaking out. I liked how detailed she was when explaining what was going on. Especially the parts where they were attacking the zombies, and what the zombies looked like. The amount of details that were used was done in the right amount for me.

Even though I have mixed feelings about this book, I will probably read the next one because I want to find out what happens next. But overall, I think that Andi's character could have used a little more work.

When I heard this book had zombies in it, I knew immediately I had to read it. That it was a zombie romance just intensified my excitement about it. Save Me is set a couple years after the start of the zombie apocalypse. It starts out with the heroine, Andi, in a dangerous situation from which the hero, Will, rescues her. I knew from the first moment he appeared with his pink pony t-shirt that I was going to fall in love with Will, and I was right! Will is a sweet, sensitive guy, but at the same time he's possessive, super protective of those he cares about and a total badass. The perfect combination!

The chemistry between these two isn't really apparent right away. And among so many books where the hero and heroine hook up immediately, it was refreshing to experience a little anticipation. It's slow to build, but when their attraction does flare up...wow! All I can say is, who knew a book centered around the zombie apocalypse would contain one of the sexiest, swooniest first kisses ever?!

I really liked the supporting characters as well. Janet...well, I did want to smack her a time or two, but she eventually grew on me. And Dan... *sighs* I just loved Dan with his knowing smiles and sexy Irish accent.

I am so glad that the author is writing more about these characters. I can't wait to read more of their stories.

When I opened this book and realized it was about zombies, I was very disappointed. I don’t like zombie apocalypse books. I have never been able to wrap my head around the idea that there could be a good romance going on with flesh eating zombies around every corner. So I have never bothered to read one, thinking it just wouldn’t sit well with me. I was wrong. I enjoyed it from the very first word to the last. I read it in one day, and was sad to see it end. Will and Andie find each other under the worst circumstances imaginable. Both have been alone for a while, and Andie has serious trust issues. It does not take them long to fall in love and it is so very sweet. There are some really funny lines in this book, especially when Andie is talking about how hard it is to get away from a zombie. “They could be slower than an old woman with a walker. Except for the fresh ones. The fresher they were, the stronger and faster they were,” made me laugh really hard! This author really knows how to tell a story. It kept me interested from start to finish! I loved it!! I cannot believe I am giving 5 stars to a zombie book!! But there it is. Highly recommend this book! If you like YA books with zombie’s and very strong, likeable characters, you will love it too!!
This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Let me start by telling you that I did not read what the book was about before I started to read it, I am so glad, because it is so much more than a zombies book! It has the sweetest love story in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. Andi is a girl all alone, her friends and families are all gone due to the Zombies. She thinks she is strong and can take of herself, until she gets in a dog cage and zombies surround her, trying to eat her. Will, who is also all alone, saves her by killing the zombies. She wants to just go their separate ways, however Will does not. As the story goes along you know they have a attraction to each other, but they are to stubborn to admit it to themselves, and they are also trying to survive. They meet friends along the way who finally make them realize they are going to push each other away or admit that they like each other. I really liked this story, it was very well written, and even though it is about zombies, that is not the main story. I started it and finished it in one sitting, one long sitting! It sucks you in. and you need to know what will happen next! It proves that everyone deserves love no matter what else is going on in their lives as well as reminding all of us that when you least expect it, love will bite you in the ass!! I can't wait to read more from L J Baker!!

I am a YA nut and I LOVED this book! Throw in some zombies and heart stopping terror and you have this nerd girl in book heaven.

Andi has been on her own for a while. After the virus hit and the zombie apocalypse began, she was with her parents for a while in the relative safety of her basement. They got too comfortable and ventured out too much and that's when she lost her family. Andi was doing an ok job of staying alive on her own, but one day she needed saving and Will showed up out of the blue to open a can on some undead ass and save her from certain death. She was grateful, but not looking to be part of a group again. Will though was hungry for companionship and wanted to stay with this surly girl even though she pushed him away. Soon though Andi opens up and finds herself feeling very comfortable with Will and possibly falling for him.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a bit of everything I love; drama, horror, suspense and a love story. <3 I loved Will and Andi's drama. Does he like me? Does she like me? The jealousy when Dan and Janet enter the picture just adds fuel to the fire. The group eventually ends up traveling to a safe camp where more drama ensues.

It was a wild ride that had me fearful, sad, happy and eager for more! I would definitely give this one 5 stars!! Great job LJ Baker! I can't wait for the next one.
