Through the Mists of Faerie: A Magical Guide to the Wisdom Teaching of the Ancient Elven

Rate this book
This is a book about High Elven Magic. Not the magic of chants and spells and ceremonies, of which we've already written quite a bit, but of the Quest to become like those kindred of ours who we, and others, call the Shining Ones, and which most folks think of when they fantasize about what elves are-even when they deny that we are elven or that elves exist at all. The Shinning Ones are the evolved beings who guide the elven people upon their spiritual Path. If you would enter Faerie, or Elfin as we often call it, this is a book about the Path that leads there.

Definitely a 5 star book! I have read a few of the wonderful books by the SIlver Elves and wish I had started with this one, because it really explains the elven philosophy and makes the folk lore understandable even in this modern world.

Through the Mists of Faerie book is probably, the most magical, the most profound and brilliant book in my life that I have ever read.

It is about the Elven Path, about the Elven Philosophy and about the Magick, True Elven Magick and the device of this world in its true essence from the point of view of the elves, ancient spirits in the human bodies.
The book is written in a simple language about not simple things.
Reading this book, you can really experience as going through the dence mist of Faerie forest with the authors and slowly this mist is lifting and opening before the eyes so many new things, so many things that was previously hidden or covered by a veil of mystery, suddenly, at one moment becoming clear and understandable.
This is really one of the best books of The Silver Elves on my opinon.
It is filled with very vivid examples, comparisons and explanations.
I think in this book everyone, absolutely everyone, can find something new for self: it is for both an awakened elf and just for a person who wish to become better acquainted with true elven philosophy and magic and to evolve, to develop.
Many elves ask themselves: Here I awoke, I realized who I am, but what's to do the next? – the next thing, I recommend is to continue to explore and develop the elven subject, because it is so broad, so deep like a river, which in the end may seem for newly-awakened with pitfalls or the endless forest, which in the end can seem as dangerous. So, it is very important to study and analyze everything, and in the end to decide what is right for you and what is wrong. This book will help you to receive all answers.
For me, information written in this book seemed absolutely new(although please note that I have read numerous esoteric books for over 8 years) Here the Silver Elves described the Truth! True knowledge, True wisdom, True Esoterical Teaching. Just Truth about this world and about the elves. Through the Mists of Faerie is the first book that I would recommend to newly awakened brothers and sisters, because here is collected almost everything that need to know one, who decided to follow the Elven Path.
You will discover much unusual in this book.
Reading it, you will feel something so familiar, so native...
Because all the knowledge described here, we all actually already have, inside of us, but very very deep, somewhere in our subconscious. This book just created, written to remind us of who we truly are, what is our true our essence and why we are here.
It opens eyes to many things. It wakes up. It elevates to a new level. This book is brilliant. It is just perfect. It is magical.
I will read it again and again, all the time finding in it something new.
All of these things described here is not a fantasy, it is reality. It describes the mechanisms in the Universe, in life that really works and we can notice them all in our everyday life.
The Silver Elves are true masters of the word.
I higly recommend this book to everyone who wish to evolve, who wish to to get acquainted with the real elven magic and real elven philosophy and to wake up completely!!!

I found Through the Mists of Faerie to be easy to read yet deeply into the magic of the elven life. It takes some very complex teachings and truly brings them home to the understanding of being elfin and living as an elf. This point of view that the elves express is quite different than anything else I have read, but perhaps very close to the Taoist philosophy. I highly recommend this book!

At this point in November 2015, this is our most popular book (closely followed by What An Elf Would Do and The Elven Way) of the 35 we have published on magic and enchantment. Enjoy.

THROUGH THE MISTS OF FAERIE is the most popular book by The Silver Elves and I must admit that it is one of my favorites too, along with The Elven Way. If you wish to understand the philosophy and magic of the elfin, this is a most delightful book to read to begin your journey. If you are already on the Path of Faerie, then you absolutely will love this book! You can read excerpts from this book and the Table of Contents here on The Silver Elves' website: http://silverelves.angelfire.com/HAth....

I bought it because of the high praises in the reviews, not knowing what I was going to get into.

I really enjoyed learning about their philosophy and perspective on life. In fact, I'd say that I identify with some of their views. I've even learnt some new perspectives and mindset. My personal favourite: "We seek excellence not because we need every detail to be perfect but because we seek to develop that habit, that energy of doing our best in all we do."

What made me bring it down to three stars is the writing. While it is gentle with the vocabulary, the usage of punctuation threw me off. Some sentences had far too many commas; I had to reread the sentence several times to understand it. Some also felt like run-on sentences, causing me to lose focus while reading it. Also, I've caught a few grammatical errors (wrong use of tenses?) in certain areas. I felt a bit frustrated while reading it.

Other than that, this book was a really interesting read.

This book could've been 50 pages and made more sense then the cluster fuck this book is. If you have "The Elven Way" save your money and don't buy this book. This book is so unnecessarily dense, confusing, and hard to digest that if I was approaching elven spirituality as a beginner I'd actively avoid it for the rest of my life. I'd say take a shot everytime the author goes on a tangent or repeats themselves but I'm pretty sure you'd end up in the ER before chapter 2.

**2.5

As with many books, this is not a complete write-off. There were some very insightful and poignant nuggets here and there. For me, it was a little ‘too out there’. Wicca and witchcraft is really something I identify with, and it’s hypocritical of me to say, but this was too far for me. The writing isn’t bad, the content is just not for me.
