A heartfelt romantic comedy, loosely inspired by The Proposal.
Lost and guarded after getting out of a toxic relationship, Noli Kasper follows her older sisters to idyllic Cashmere Cove to get her life back on track. But when she’s pulled over on the way into town by a police officer who turns out to be her insufferable new boss, her dreams of an uncomplicated fresh start feel dead on arrival.
Collin Rattler has spent his whole life trying to live up to his cop dad’s expectations and reputation. Now, Collin has his sights set on earning the title of county sheriff—something even his father never accomplished. When early polls show Collin’s playboy habits are hurting his chances, his team makes a settle down with a nice, respectable woman for the year leading up to the election to prove he can commit. The problem? Collin doesn’t do relationships.
Yet when he lets slip his team’s preposterous plan to Noli, a woman he finds as self-righteous and enigmatic as she is beautiful, he’s not sure what’s more shocking—that she offers to help him or that he finds himself falling for her in the process.
Noli has her own reasons for saying yes to Collin’s fake-dating proposal. And when her past won’t leave her alone, she finds herself relying on Collin, a man she thought she despised, to see her through. But it’s all just a temporary, mutually beneficial arrangement, right?
Because enemies don’t fall in love…do they?
(Enemies Don't is the second book in the Fall In Love series, which follows three sisters as they find love after moving across the country to the small town of Cashmere Cove, Wisconsin. This is a closed door romcom with plenty of sizzling chemistry and romantic tension, but no spice. Enemies Don't is a standalone book, but it's best enjoyed after reading Friends Don't.)

I liked this one a lot. After getting off on the wrong foot seeing Noli and Collin come together in a fake dating scheme brought out some fantastic banter and the forced proximity moments I crave.
I struggled with the time spread throughout the book. This book covers a whole year and chapters would jump to the next month or two with only a small nod towards what happened prior. I wish the time had been condensed a little more. There was still plenty of showing vs. telling, but I kept feeling like I was missing something.
Collin has lots of swoony moments though and I loved watching him fall in love. It’s tender and he didn’t even realize how much he cared. I loved when he and Noli had good communication lines and took the time to get to know eachother.
I also didn’t understand why Noli kept her secret for so long. If she had brought it up soon after realizing she could trust Collin I feel like it could have played off better. There’s a little dash of suspense to bring things all together and wrap things up well.
Looking forward to the next book!
Overall audience notes: - Contemporary Romance - Language: none - Romance: kisses - Violence: low - Content Warnings: An ex who is stalking and harassing Noli
Plot- The premise of their fake dating relationship was quite the stretch. It lacked credibility. And then when they actually got married to really “sell it”… that was next level nuts. Who does that?
Writing- Most of the time the writing was fine, but some responses in conversations didn’t feel natural. Like if Collin actually gave this declaration to Noli’s ex-colleague in this casual setting IRL, he’d be getting a bit of side-eye:
I turn up the wattage on my smile and flash it at Noli. “Good thing I’ve made it my mission to make sure she knows how absolutely stunning she is every day from here on out.”
Romance- Their chemistry was mediocre. There should have been some swoony moments, when dealing with her stalker especially, but they fell flat.
I have to say, it was very strange that there was a lack of physical intimacy between them even though they were married and in love. Their obvious attraction turned into genuine affection, and even after they both confessed to being in love (and don’t forget they are MARRIED and cuddled in bed sometimes and kissed while being alone), they never made love. Why not? What’s stopping them? It could be closed door, but just pretending like sex wouldn’t be a natural progression in their married relationship was a glaring omission.
Characters- They were both fine. I liked that the MMC finally stood up to his dad. I liked their good communication! Unfortunately, their banter was meh. I think their back and forth quips were supposed to be charming but I thought they were dorky.
“That’s what I was going for.” “What?” “To make you laugh. It’s my new goal.”
Content- Language- no swears Substance abuse- none Spice- clean. Tame kissing only. Cover- oh boy. Someone please help. Format- KU
How I rated the series- Book 1, “Friends Don’t” - 4 stars (I enjoyed it!) Book 2, “Enemies Don’t” - 2.5 stars
This enemies to lovers read was hard to put down, so I didn’t! 😊 Collin and Noli develop with equal parts humor and depth. They grow as individuals and as a couple from the jump. The road to true love is never a smooth one. Enemies Don’t will make you laugh a lot, cry a little, hold your breath, and shout with joy, all in the name of love! Get yourself to Cashmere Cove and enjoy this fresh, smart RomCom by Leah Dobrinska. Could be your best yet, Leah! Way to go! 🧡
When I tell you I DEVOURED this book. This is hands down the author’s best book. I knew I was going to love it the moment I read the description, and it did not disappoint. It has all of my favorite things:
Grumpy/Sunshine ✅ Fake Dating ✅ Dual POV ✅ Enemies to lovers ✅ Golden retriever MMC ✅
The conflicts had me on the edge of my seat and I was flying through those pages to see how it shook out. The romance was *chef’s kiss*. And speaking of kisses, the elevator kiss lives in my head rent free, okay!?
Overall, a great read and 5 stars! Can’t wait to read book 3 after that epilogue!!
I loved Collin and Noli's story! We start off the story getting to see Collin's POV of the pulling over incident, which I loved! The timeline is interesting in this one because it sometimes jumps ahead a couple of months. I still felt like it flowed well; it was just unique. For Collin's campaign to become sheriff, he's advised to get into a serious relationship. After Noli saves drunk Collin from embarrassment, she suggests that they fake date for *reasons*. I really loved how Collin and Noli started softening towards each other as they went out with Mack & Poppy and spent time together in public. Even as their feelings began to chance, banter continued to be top notch throughout the story! Loved it and can't wait to get to Rose and Anton's book!
Favorite Quotes: -“This, right here, is what we need to talk about.” “What? Holding hands?” “Public displays of affection in general.” “What about them?” “I’m not a fan.” She looks away from me. “This may surprise you,” I whisper, drawing her gaze and forcing her to inch closer so she can hear me, “but I am a big, big fan of PDA.”
-“You can talk to me, you know. You don’t have to carry this alone.”
-“You are strong.“ I shake my head. “You are,” he insists. “But you don’t have to be.” ... “You can be soft with me, okay?”
-Because I think I’ve found the way I want to spend the rest of my life: proving to Noli Kasper that she is not damaged goods. That any fractures and breaks in her heart only make her more beautiful.
-Marriage is like the tides. The feelings ebb and flow, but the foundation is as constant as the sea…hopefully as deep too.”
-"I’m a mess, Collin.” She shakes her head slightly. “You’ve had a front-row seat to it.” I use my finger to tip her chin up. “We’re all sorta messy, aren’t we? But through all the ups and downs, I’d go through this whole crazy ride with you again and again.”
-The man is distracting. Even with a wall between us, my REM cycle is like, Peace out, girlfriend. We want to focus on the beautiful specimen of a man who recently had his arms wrapped around your waist and his chin tucked into the crook of your shoulder.
-When you say my full name, it sounds like you’re holding it in your hands. Like it’s precious to you. Like I’m precious to you. I like the feeling,” I add quietly. “You are precious to me, Magnolia. I’ve got you.”
-“We all have pasts. But that’s not where we live. We can’t, or we’ll be miserable."
-“For as long as I’ll have you, huh?” He swallows, looking slightly bashful and all the more endearing. “Yeah.” “Good. I love you, Collin, and I think I’d like to have you forever,” I whisper as his lips press into mine.
Wow, if I thought book 1 touched on hard issues, it has absolutely nothing on book 2. This book takes the broken life of a girl living in the shame of past mistakes, and weaves a raw story of restoration… while somehow pulling off a sweet rom-com. Truly an impressive feat.
I often find the doubts and fears of a romance FMC to be forced and unrealistic, especially when it’s a fake-relationship trope. The contrived insecurities are the standard go-to for creating relationship tension, and though I understand a little tension is necessary for a good love story, it’s usually cringe-worthy in how poorly it’s executed… NOT so here. Noli’s fears and insecurities are real. Noli is real. The guilt and shame of past mistakes - devastating and life shattering mistakes - is raw and powerful. My heart couldn’t help but break for her.
The author does an amazing job with this book and its characters, handling a sensitive topic with taste and heart.
Content: Trigger warning - this book centers around a prior abusive relationship (physical and emotional), and the abusive man continues to stalk and harass the victim.
There’s no foul language or sex. There are a couple heated kissing scenes, but they are limited to kissing and holding. There’s no mention of faith or God.
Enemies Don't is the second book in the Fall in Love series but can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone just fine as well.
Friends Don't was one of my absolute favorite books last year, so naturally I was really excited to get Collin and Noli's story in this one... and my goodness, it does not disappoint! First of all, that meet cute!? I loved it. It definitely set the tone for this enemies to love story. The banter was absolutely fantastic... and the chemistry was even better. And of course, I am always here for a marriage of convenience story. These two very quickly won me over and I just couldn't help but adore them together.
While there are definitely plenty of laugh out loud moments to keep it from feeling too heavy, this book does take on some weightier topics like abuse as well. I felt it was balanced very well and made me love these characters and their story all that much more.
Friends Don't is a closed-door romance with kisses only.
**I received an ARC for consideration. All opinions are my own.
I started reading this in hopes to just have a couple pages of a good book before bed…but I just couldn’t put it down. No regrets! The characters are wholesome and there is diversity in the storyline.
This book gave some excellent vibes from The Proposal (movie) and I so enjoy the little nods to different cultural references throughout. There were parts when I laughed out loud and then was on the edge of my seat with needing to see what happened next. If you like a fake dating scenario, this is the book for you.
Excellent read. Five stars. And definitely got me on the hook to read the next book! That epilogue—wowza.
❤️ Love the sisters texting threads ❤️ interesting character’s jobs ❤️ little bit of action and mystery vibe while still being a Rom Com!
Even with some heavy, realistic topics, Leah keeps the overall feel of the book light. I appreciated reading about characters going through difficult situations.
I didn’t know how I’d feel about enemies to lovers. However, I liked the way the characters developed over time and in the end, I grew to love them.
Man, oh, man!! I’m still in a Collin and Noli daze! This book was enemies to lovers with a special kick. It was everything I had been hoping it would be! Leah just keeps knocking them out of the park!
This book picks up right where Friends Don’t left off, with Collin and Noli’s meet-cute…which is hilarious by the way! This story was good on so many levels. It had lots of depth, while also having all the banter and romantic tension you could ask for in an enemies to lovers romance. Believe me, it’s goooooood!!!
Collin was just dreamy!! The way he cared, protected and stood up for Noli was beautiful. He had a heart of gold! Noli was a firecracker! On the outside she came off as tough, but underneath she struggled with her self-worth, due to a past toxic relationship. My heart went out to her. It was beautiful to watch Collin slowly break through the walls she had built around her heart.
These characters had so many layers to them. They both had to overcome past troubles and they helped each other see the others’ worth. I can’t even with how powerful this aspect of their story was. I loved watching their fake relationship slowly become more. They definitely had the sizzling chemistry I love to see and that elevator scene was 🔥🔥🔥! And the marriage of convenience trope was done to perfection.
It was great to see Poppy, Mack and Rose again! And now I’m so intrigued about the next book, which will be Rose’s story! I need more after that Epilogue!
I can’t recommend this book enough, y’all! It will touch your heart, and leave you laughing, swooning, and rooting for these characters to get their HEA!
Things I Loved: Ice Mountain Gatorade “The Snake” Ground rules Bowling date Handwritten notes🫠 Officer Prowler All the nicknames! One bed He defends her The elevator kiss!!🔥🔥 Wedding Night Sleeping forts Spoons 😉
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I loved the incredible dual narration! This was a clean, closed door romance with swoony kisses and no foul language. The characters had realistic conversations about important issues, their fears and motivations were believeable, and the slow-burn enemies to friends to lovers was delicious.
This high quality, hilarious rom com had me falling off my chair laughing. I just found out there will be an audio book, so I'll definitely go get that.
I couldn't get enough of the Noli/Collin romance! There's so much tension in the novel while staying clean and wholesome. I'd definitely recommend it to any romance fans!
Easy cute read! Definitely had me tearing up in some parts. I loved that there wasn’t a “third act break up” and when Nelson did come back at the end, it was quickly handled- didn’t drag out!

Wow. I feel like I say this a lot but this is an extra special wow.
Collin and Magnolia are seriously enemies when you start this book. They both have misconceptions about each other, a bit of pride, past hurts, and secrets.
This story is a beautiful unfolding of forgiving, humility, healing, and honesty.
The growth BOTH characters go through is immense.
I especially loved Magnolia's growth. She had gotten out of an abusive relationship and has to learn to heal, to forgive herself, and to realize that being the victim does not diminish her self worth.
I cried so many times for Magnolia because I see so many aspects of family and friends who have been in hurtful relationships in her character. Not to mention my own struggles with my own self worth.
It was stunningly beautiful.
I healed right along with her.
Oh man and COLLIN. Wow. He turns into a stunningly amazing man with all the swoon and charm and I can't even. I love that guy so much.
So. Good.
I obviously loved all of the cameos from Mack, Poppy, and Rose in this book.
Don't even get me started on the epilogue about Rose's book. I need her book ASAP.
But back to Magnolia and Collin. Their story is beautiful and I loved every second of it.
Thank you to the author for the advanced readers copy. My obsession is completely my own. 😉
👄Kisses only ⚠️Past abusive relationship, stalking, and one drunk scene
✨ I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of Enemies Don't from the author, Leah Dobrinska, and read through the entire book two times. ✨
This is yet another amazing rom-com by Dobrinska, picking up right where the epilogue from Friends Don't tapers off. Enemies Don't has an amazing story line that allows readers to really get to know Collin and Noli, and how they grow as individuals and together as a couple. It's also great to learn more about the Kasper sisters (Poppy, Rose, and Noli) and Mack as well. The Kasper sisters are obviously nothing short of amazing, but it's great to learn more about their family history and why they are so close and protective of each other.
While there are aspects involving toxic relationships and leaving an abusive boyfriend, I think Dobrinska does a wonderful job showing how despite obstacles, trauma, and learning how to heal and flourish again, everything feels real and relatable, and there's always second chances and love out there for everyone. As Noli eventually learns, it's always nice to know that someone is on your team and has your back, no matter what.
If a variety of pet names, heart to hearts, pillow forts, and a strong pillar of a man who's actually a real teddy bear are right up your alley, I strongly recommend you enjoy the Fall in Love series by Leah Dobrinska. Enemies Don't is hands down another 5 star book. I'm already eager for the next book, Exes Don't to come in the future. Boy oh boy, was that teaser of an epilogue something else!
This book was a hard read for me. I didn’t want to finish it, but I pushed through in hopes it would get better—unfortunately, I was very disappointed.
I usually like fake dating as a book concept, but the plot here was ridiculous. The reason behind their fake dating was so weak, and I felt like Colin was acting like a child, only doing it to please his father. Yes, he eventually stood up to him, but it felt like he just used Noli. Who in their right mind would agree to fake date—let alone fake marry—just to win a campaign? It really speaks volumes about both his and Nolis characters. Noli only did it to run away from her ex. Even when they officially started falling for each other, it still didn’t feel like they had a real connection and their relationship and story was all over the place.
I also didn’t like how the book skipped around so much with the timeline. For example, they kissed for the first time, and then the next chapter jumped three months later. It felt like there were so many gaps in the story, and everything was rushed. And it completely baffled me how casually they decided to actually get married—just to convince people! That’s a huge decision, but they agreed to it like they were deciding what to eat for dinner.
The writing was cheesy, and the banter between the two characters was mediocre at best. I felt like these characters were acting like teenagers playing house in a complicated so called relationship. I’m all for romance, but this book just did not do it for me.

“Hey, hey, hey. Fancy seeing you guys here.” Katherine steps up next to Collin and places a hand on his shoulder, giving it a squeeze. Collin’s gaze juts to mine, and for a brief moment, I see a flash of regret in his eyes, but I must have imagined it, because in the next second, he’s standing up to hug Katherine and fist bump a fellow police officer.
Then, they’re rearranging chairs, and we’re making room. Collin and I get separated in the shuffle, but Katherine ends up at his side. Somehow, her hand remains on his shoulder, his upper back—wait, is it in his hair right now? Collin is cool, calm, and collected as always. He’s shooting the breeze with the new arrivals and acting as if everything is normal."
"The waiter swings by to take our order. “Let’s do an extra-large thin crust.” Katherine bounces in her seat. “Sausage and black olives good with you guys?” No one complains, and no one argues, so the waiter leaves, promising to be back with our food ASAP. It’s ridiculous that the pizza selection is what sends me over the edge, but I feel tears pressing against the backs of my eyes. Thin crust? Sausage? Black olives? That is so opposite from what I literally just told Collin I like, and he doesn’t say anything, doesn’t make an effort to get my opinion."
"“What’s going on?” I pull up before I get to the door and face Collin “What’s going on is that you’re acting like a complete player—just the thing you wanted to avoid.” “What are you talking about?” He covers my hand with his, pressing my fingers into his cheek. " “Is this about Katherine and the guys?” He reaches forward and squeezes my hip. “I can explain everything. No need to get all mad.” “I’m not mad. That implies that I care. About you. Which I don’t. At all.” “Of course you don’t. Clearly I’m the worst.” His tone is laced with sarcasm. “What with my trying to be friendly to our coworkers and all.” Ignoring him, I plow ahead. “The only thing I care about is not looking like a fool. If you want to entertain other women in the privacy of your own home, on your own time, fine. But don’t do it here in public, in front of my sisters, who I’m trying to get to believe this whole thing. It makes me look pathetic.” “You don’t really know me at all, Magnolia. I don’t entertain women at my house.” “Forgive me for not believing you. I call it like I see it.” I push away from him but keep my hands fisted into his shirt. “And stop using my full name, Rattler. I’m plain old Noli to everyone else. So, I’ll be plain old Noli to you, thank you very much. Now go back to the table and be charming. It’s what you’re good at. But remember, you’re the one with his neck on the line here. I don’t have a reputation to outrun. That’s all you.”
I’m sorry, you know,” he blurts out. I blink. “What?” “For what happened at Romeo’s.” I keep my face neutral. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” “Yes you do.” He holds my gaze, and I hate that I look away, but his green eyes are so piercing it’s like I can feel the look he’s giving me in the center point of my brain. I feel exposed. “We were getting along…” At my arched eyebrow, he adds, Getting along better than we had been. And then we went out to dinner, and Katherine and the gang showed up.” “Yeah. She and all the other women of Cashmere Cove seem to flock to you.” “This month has been miserable, and I’ve been wanting to apologize for the way everything went down.” He pauses and considers me for a second before he says, “You’re sort of a tough nut.” I’m so startled I sputter out a laugh. “Wow, thanks.” He shakes his head. “That came out wrong.” He offers me a sheepish grin. “What I mean is, you don’t make it easy on a guy. I guess I was feeling insecure that night on the drive over to Romeo’s, and I knew I could get some validation from my friends.” “From Katherine,” I say, because I’m going to make him own it. “Yeah, I guess so.” He sighs. “But it was petty of me, and I don’t like that I did it, and I really don’t like that I hurt you. So I’m sorry.”
-----------------
Enemies Don't is the second book in the Fall in Love series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone as well.
This story is a true lovers-hater from the beginning, then we add fake dates, marriages of convenience, and abusive ex-partners to the mix and we get this whirlwind of emotions.
It's an incredible story in which we are allowed to really get to know Collin and Noli, see them grow individually and together as a couple.
The book involves toxic relationships and the process of leaving an abusive and manipulative partner, the author did a wonderful job showing how despite the obstacles, trauma and what the process of healing psychologically entails, finding a second chance to fall in love and believe in love despite being afraid.
Magnolia and Collin had to learn to trust each other. I liked the progress that there was in their relationship, I quite enjoyed the romance and chemistry between them. They balanced each other and helped each other heal past wounds. Since everything was a slow process for them as they began to trust each other, they fit together perfectly.
I highly recommend this book and many thanks to Leah for receiving this ARC.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 2 in the Fall in Love Series and can be read as a standalone, though the MCs are first introduced in book 1 and I think the reader experience will be richer if you've read it. The book's blurb is straightforward, though be sure to read the author note for content warnings. Enemies Don't is told through Noli and Collin's pov and is a sweet marriage of convenience romance.
After ending an abusive and toxic relationship and moving to Cashmere Cove, Nolli is doing her best to adjust to her new life. While she likes being with her sisters and having their support, she doesn't want to worry them and have them hover over her. When a situation arises and entering a fake proposal with Collin seems like a good solution to her problems, she agrees to it - even if she hasn't always gotten along with him. As she spends time with pretending to date him, she gets to really know him and feel safe in his presence. Because of what she experienced with her ex and the fact that she works as a dispatcher, Noli put a lot of blame on herself. I liked seeing her learn to acknowledge that she wasn't at fault and heal as she forgave herself and let Collin into her life.
Growing up in Cashmere Cove as the son of the chief of the police department meant that there were certain expectations Collin had to live up to. While Collin followed in his father's footsteps of becoming a cop, he didn't want to follow the example his father set for relationships. Dating around has given Collin a reputation as a playboy, which is not a good look as he's in the running for sheriff. Though they aren't on the best terms, proposing a fake engagement to Noli is the best solution to both of their problems - he will appear to be committed and help her with her troubles. Yet, as they get to know each other, Collin's desire to protect and care for Noli become stronger. I loved that he didn't push her into revealing her secrets and hurts but slowly let her come to him with them when she was ready. And, as much as he was there for her, her company and friendship helped him to realize that he was capable and worthy of love too.
Because of their first meeting, they didn't have the best impressions of each other so their romance was a slow burn (one sided) enemies to lovers one. While Collin didn't dislike Noli as much as she did to him, he had some misconceptions about her too. I liked seeing them come together to help each other and go from being acquaintances to friends. Neither was looking for a serious relationship so I liked that they were able to get to know each other without that pressure. Of course, the forced proximity and acting as a couple was fun to read. I like their back and forth and their chemistry was strong. The romance was a clean one consisting of descriptive kisses and no cursing was used. Aside from the romance, what I really enjoyed about this story was how tough subjects were dealt with and balanced with the perfect amount of lightheartedness and sweet moments. I loved the relationships that Noli had with her sisters and the friendship that Collin had with Mack. Overall, this book was worth the wait and I cannot wait to read Rose's story next.
When you think of romcoms, you think of meet cutes probably, except in this book it’s a meet hate/despise! Nobody likes to get pulled over, no matter how good looking the officer may be!
At the start of this book, Noli is on her way to her new life in Cashmere Cove only to have a siren turned on her by Officer Collin Rattler! After the uncomfortable exchange, Noli continued to a party thrown for her sister, Poppy and Mack – she was knee deep in explaining her late arrival only to find out that Collin was not only Mack’s bestie but also her supervisor at her new job! Yay! Poor girl! First impressions die hard, right?!
Officer Collin Rattler is determined to become county sheriff, so he struggles to dismiss Noli’s flirting to get out of the ticket but stands his ground! As he starts his campaign for the coveted seat, it comes to his attention that to be seen as a real candidate Collin must put aside his “playboy ways” and show “commitment” in a relationship form! After an evening of struggling of how to handle the change in political tactics, he asks Noli if she would consider helping him out! She agrees with a few conditions and that’s when the book really takes off!
Over the course of this story, we see these characters have some major personality transformations and for the better! While a relationship of convenience is always an interesting read, I felt more invested in this one than others I have read in the past! Perhaps it’s because of the circumstances surrounding their arrangement that has me turning page after page! Overall, Collin and Noli are a couple worth cheering for and I hope all the best for them! Also may Noli learn to love herself again!
I’m so very glad to have made it back to Cashmere Cove. This small town is just lovely and if it were possible I just might move there. This time we get to see things from Noli and Collin’s perspective and I was definitely here for it. I loved that they came from the same world of emergency services and we got to see some of the behind the scenes of their jobs. But what was even better was that this story was a solid enemies to lovers story that required some work to move from entirely despising each other to finding love together. There was epic banter, sizzling attraction, snarky quips, awkward and yet hilarious flirting plus some honest conversations, fighting for each other and finding home with someone who chooses love over winning. It’s the kind of story you could read a hundred times and still want to read it again. I’ll definitely be adding it to my favorites shelf because I know I’m going to reread it many times. Highly recommend you grab your own copy so you can love it too.
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the author via BookFunnel. I am not required by anyone to write a positive review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.
4.5 stars Oh my goodness! This was just as good as I had hoped! Enemies Don’t is the first book that I have read by Leah Dobrinksa and I adored it! Enemies Don’t is the second book in the Fall in Love series and I am super excited for the next one. Magnolia and Collin were the cutest together. They fought against each other in practically every way but when it mattered most, they had each other’s back. Magnolia and Collin had to learn to trust each other. I liked the progression of their relationship and how they were never truly “enemies.” I enjoyed the romance and the chemistry between Magnolia and Collin. They balanced each other and they helped each other heal from past hurts. It was more of a slow burn for them as they figured out their relationship but it fit the story perfectly. They had to pretend to be a couple and it was sweet to read about them falling for each other as they tried to help Collin’s chances of becoming sheriff. The story was enjoyable and I wanted to see how this book would end. I adored the side characters and I am super excited for the next book! Magnolia’s sisters are the best! I really enjoyed Enemies Don’t and I would totally recommend it! The characters were engaging and they felt like friends. There was conflict but there was resolution and growth. Enemies Don’t is a closed door romantic comedy I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.
I have been SO looking forward to this sequel, and it did not disappoint.
It was so fun to return to Cashmere Cove and the Kasper sisters. I loved Poppy and Mack, and I was so happy that they made appearances in this book, but the real--and deserving--stars are Noli and Collin. Their insta-hate sets meet cute set the stage for a year-long, slow-burn romance that sucked me in from chapter one and kept my attention through the end. Seeing how badly these two hated each other, I HAD to keep reading to see how these two would end up together.
While this story does touch on some tough issues (Noli left an abusive relationship), it does so in an non-explicit way. Enemies Don't is everything you want from a sweet contemporary rom com: all the tropes, all the sweet touches and kisses, and a worth-the-wait happily ever after.
I can't wait to read book three and will definitely read more Leah Dobrinska books in the future. If you like Emma St. Clair or Becky Monson books, I highly recommend this book.
Noli and Collin were just as funny as I hoped they would be!
In this second book in the Fall in Love series, we meet Noli, the youngest of the Kasper sisters as she starts a new life in Cashmere Cove. Noli has a run in with Collin, who is the best friend to her sister's fiancee, and Noli's new boss.
Noli has issues with a past abusive partner, and Collin is dealing with a controlling father. Together they form a fake relationship that they hope will be beneficial to both of them. I laughed out loud several times as their fake relationship began. Lots of fake dates later, Noli and Collin start to have real feelings for each other. Opposites attract, drama ensues, and lots of swoon worthy moments are sprinkled in!
Thank you to the author for the digital review copy, and for letting me share my early thoughts on Enemies Don't!
I don't even know where to start with how much I loved this book. I blazed thru the first because I knew I had this as an ARC, and I freaking loved the first book, and so I went in high expectations, and it blew them outta the park. Noli is the youngest sister and and her first meeting with Collin was him pulling her over. They end up in a dating/ marriage of convenience to help with his career, but quickly realize the feelings are real. The notes and the nicknames were absolutely everything, it's quickly becoming my favorite micro trope. There were some heavy topics in the book around abuse and stalking and I thought Leah did it very well. I was giggling and kicking my feet throughout this whole book, and I loved every bit of it!

Since reading Friends Don't (the first in the Fall in Love series) and hearing the second in the series was coming out, I have been so ready for it, and it did not disappoint.
Man, I loved Noli and Collin. They start off hating each other (based on misconceptions), but when circumstances throw them together, they get to know each other and are caught off guard by how their feelings shift. A true enemies-to-lovers if I've ever read one, which I appreciate because nothing is more annoying than so-called enemies-to-lovers that secretly love each other the whole time.
They each have pasts and insecurities that they have to both grow past on their own and grow through together, and I am here for it.
Thanks, Leah, for the ARC and for this fantastic novel!
Noli & Collin. Man, I love this couple. The banter between these two is perfect and lets the tension build up so good!
Both Noli and Collin are dealing with personal issues and the growth we witness in 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 is ugh. So good. Noli and Collin are so good for each other. They balance each other out so well.
I don’t have enough good things to say about Leah and her writing. She comes up with the most lovable characters with the most beautiful stories.
Seriously, y’all. Go check out her books. They’re closed door but written so so beautifully.
If you enjoy any of these tropes, check out 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁!
⇢ enemies to lovers ⇢ grumpy/sunshine ⇢ fake dating ⇢ only one bed ⇢ golden retriever mmc ⇢ marriage of convenience ⇢ no third act breakup ⇢ closed door ⇢ the proposal vibes
If you’ve ever seen the show 911 this book gave me some of those vibes. Add in a little dash of the movie The Proposal and I couldn’t put it down.
Noli moves to town after an abusive relationship and is a dispatcher, while Collin is a police officer who wants to become the sheriff.
Colin and Noli do not get off to the best start. A routine traffic stop and a ticket would definitely not be the best way to start a friendship with someone. I absolutely loved the banter. Noli really can’t stand Colin and she does not hide her feelings. When a plan comes into play for a fake relationship it does not disappoint.
I seriously cannot recommend these books enough! They were fantastic and I’m so excited for the next.
