This is a sweet, chaste romance.

This is a sweet and fun story of the wagon train to the west. They encounter excitement and adventure along the way. Samuel is the trail boss on the trail and Hannah is a beautiful young woman traveling with friends to her sister and her husband in Colorado. Several of the folks on the trail come down with cholera and Hannah is one of them. Samuel takes it upon his shoulders to care for her and spends a night or two caring for her. The preacher traveling in the trail find the unexceptable and announces Hannah has been compromised and they need to marry immediately or her reputation will be totally compromised. You will enjoy discovering all of their adventures and how they find their happily ever after.
It comes as no surprise to say that I enjoyed the book. It's an easy read for a Saturday night. The cholera epidemic was a nice touch to the story as it allowed opportunity for Samuel to show his true feelings for Paulina. Baby Laura losing her parents added to the drama. It also reflects the culture of the time. You took in orphans and raised them as your own. No waiting period. No legal formalities. You just did the right thing quietly and moved on. I am already looking forward to the next book in the series!
Paulina decides to join her sister Hannah in Denver. Chaperoned by family friends, she joins a wagon train headed west. Through all the trials and tribulations, wagon master Samuel Tucker is there to offer support. By the time she reaches the dividing point to head south to her sister's, she is married and looking to set up a home while Sam continues on to California with the wagon train. Thoroughly enjoyed this read and looking forward to book three.
I enjoyed this tale of a young woman traveling West to be close to her sister. I really liked the author's inclusion of the "cholera" episode while on the wagon train. I'd never heard of the treatment used and found it fascinating. I thought it very sweet and endearing that Paulina - an unmarried woman took on the responsibility of the baby when the parents died. Of course, she didn't remain unmarried long. She and Samuel made a very cute couple. An enjoyable and interesting read. Thank you.
Its an ok read but the characters were not as well developed as in the first book.I didn't care much what happened to them. I also thought the H/H very horny and their encounters too descriptive. I couldn't recommend it for young readers and I know I won't read it again. To each his own.
Book Two: Second sister takes to the trail headed to Denver City...and another book filled with danger, adventure, friendships, death, marriage, babies, and being reunited with family. Amazing what these pioneers to the Old West had to do to survive. Keep reading this series - it's worth it!
This was another quick, but enjoyable read. I liked the storyline and think it gives an accurate idea into what it was like enduring the hardships of life on a wagon train.
