Holy hell, this is one story that bends the mind and has you reaching for your significant other while wondering what this author will do to top this story. Seriously, HOT doesn’t even begin to describe everything that occurs in this book. But in addition to that, it really is a very sweet story of a man who falls in love at first sight with a woman who doesn’t believe he could want her. A hero willing to give the woman he loves anything even though it might kill him, a heroine who discovers beauty isn’t just in the eye of the beholder, and a game that might bring them both down if they aren’t careful makes Bases Loaded one spectacular story.

I can’t help it; I fell in love with the hero, Antonio (Tony) Ramirez in the first chapter. Yes, he’s a little over the top, he has no filter, and comes off a wee bit crazy but dammit, it’s hard not to love him when he falls in love at first sight and admits to it!

Clare Kincaid has had a crush on Tony Ramirez since he came up from the minor leagues. Oh she knows he’s way out of her league but she just can’t help how she feels when she sees him. Now working for the team her uncle manages, she’s excited to be in the same room with him but when he comes on to her making all kinds of crazy suggestions she knows that once again she’s being humiliated by a bully. She knows she’s not the stick thin model type he prefers but she refuses to be his victim.

Clare is one of those heroines that most women as some time in their lives can identify with. She has big time body issues and a whole host of horrible memories to go with them. Teased by mean girls and women and a couple of unsuccessful romances have only proven what she feels that she isn’t desirable to men. Tony has one hell of a reputation with women but the minute he sees Clare he is completely smitten and he lets her know. I love the way he tries to prove to her over and over again that he finds her desirable in a way he doesn’t find other women. When he begins to make headway, Clare questions him about his membership in a secret club and requests that he help her become a member. Outrage doesn’t even begin to describe his feelings on this subject.

This was one of those books where I truly felt for both the hero and the heroine. He wants to give her everything that will make her happy even if doing so will tear him apart. She thinks she needs the validation from becoming a member to make her feel like a desirable woman. Honestly it’s a really a messed up situation and when a nemesis raises her ugly head, it becomes clear there is only one way to deal with the situation and they’ll do it together.

There is so much I want to say about this book but I can’t without giving away too much of the plot. I will say that Tony does make Clare’s dreams come true in more ways than one. I think Clare learns some valuable lessons along the way and most of all she trusts Tony with her whole self. In addition, they both learn that together nothing can tear them apart.

While this book is a love story and a story about coming to terms with who you are, it is also a very erotic story with multiple partners. There’s no denying that Roz Lee hit a grand slam with Bases Loaded; it’s exciting, titillating, and absolutely sexy.

Clare the organist for the Mustangs baseball team meets her longtime crust Antonio at a charity event. He’s the new player on the Mustangs and spots beauty Clare across the room. He’s smitten at first sight with the curvy beauty but she’s not buying his declarations of love. Nasty rival Jessica makes Clare doubt herself and Tony’s motives. He and three friends concoct an elaborate plan to bring down Jessica while empowering Clare.

Roz Lee’s BASES LOADED is an erotic, contemporary romance.

When Antonio Ramirez was a New York baseball player and Clare Kincaid was living in New York, attending Julliard, she watched Antonio’s baseball games as often as possible. Clare was attracted to Antonio and would often fantasize about him, although they had never met. Clare is now the organist for the Dallas Mustangs Baseball team and Antonio has just been traded to the Mustangs, as their new centerfielder. Antonio sees Clare at an auction they are both attending, and falls head over heels. Antonio introduces himself to Clare and she is thrilled, but unfortunately she has no self confidence. Clare can’t imagine why Antonio is attracted to her when he normally dates models and actresses. Clare is curvy and full figured and doesn’t realize how beautiful she is.

I liked Antonia, he is a nice guy, a hot baseball player and always trying to make Clare feel good about herself and let her know how he much he likes her. Antonio had a wild past and is finally ready to settle down once he sees Clare. However, I found it hard to believe Antonio could fall in love with Clare so quickly. It’s hard to believe he could have such strong feelings for her after one conversation.

I liked the idea of a handsome, rich baseball player falling in love with a normal, everyday women rather than a supermodel, but Clare’s whining got on my nerves. She constantly complained about feeling unattractive and didn’t understand why Antonio wanted to date her. Antonio is willing to do anything to convince her.

There are a lot of hot steamy scenes in BASES LOADED. Some of the scenes are between Antonio and Clare and some include other people joining them. BASES LOADED has a whole new meaning for me now!

Bases Loaded was loaded with lots of insecurity on the part of the h, Clare Kincaid. Clare is a curvy girl who thinks she's fat and not very attractive, partly due to a nasty society woman named Jessica Roach who puts Clare down every chance she gets. Clare has been crushing on baseball player Antonio Ramirez since she was in college, going to his games when he played for the Mauraders and now ecstatic that he's been traded to the Mustangs where her uncle is team manager. Tony is happy to be in Dallas and even happier when he spots Clare at a charity function - he now believes in love at first sight. But due to her insecurities, Clare can't believe Tony is actually into her and thinks he's playing games with the fat girl. Throughout the book we run into this time and time again, and it makes it hard to understand why Tony wants someone with such low self esteem. On top of this, there is a secret sex club that Tony was part of in life in New York, where women earned a special charm for "running the bases," which required ménage sex. Clare is aware of this club and is convinced the only way she'll ever feel secure is if she's invited to run the bases. Tony tries to make her understand he doesn't want to share her, that he loves her, yada-yada-yada, but Clare is insistent.

I just couldn't get my head around Clare's personality and never liked her much. I did like Tony, and loved to hate Jessica. And Tony's friends - yum!! And although the story itself wasn't as good as in the first two books, the sex was hot!

i love romance and baseball. the fact that the heroine is a curvy gal makes it even better; however she is so insecure and self-doubting that it gets a little annoying. her "goal" and inability to let it go seemed foolish to me once she found love.

With all of her curves, Clare does not have a great image of herself. So when hotshot and oh so sexy Antonio falls for her she does not think that his feeling are real. The only way he can prove to her is for him to invite her to into the Bases Loaded game - a game involving four men at all the bases all at once. If she can go through all the innings she will not only get her charm but also the understanding that she is a beautiful and desirable woman. But will Antonio allow her into the game? Wow - after this story you need a drink and a cigarette. Filled with a whole lot of angst and romance this was a fabulous read.

Antonio and Clair might seem like an unlikely couple, but Antonio knows she is his from the first moment he lays eyes on her. It will take everything he has to give, and then some, to convince her that she is a beautiful, desirable woman who is worthy of love. He even has to call in a few friends to bring the story to a climax (tee hee).

Lots of consensual, multi-partner sex in this one. Be prepared or stay away.

The book blurb was misleading. The "game" is not a game between him and her.

I thought I would be reading a book about a baseball player finding a girlfriend and having steamy moments.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Bases loaded means he has a tattoo of a baseball diamond with different colored dots. Women get a piercing "downstairs" with a baseball diamond. Bases loaded is him and his "friends" in the Bases Loaded secret club having sex with the same woman.

Incredible!

This was a new author to me and I loved this book! The writing was suburb, the characters are interesting and relatable. I felt every emotion from uncertainty to joy to despair and back to joy. I loved watching Clare grow into a woman of confidence.

Roz Lee delivers a home run with her latest Mustangs Baseball series installment, Bases Loaded. You have to appreciate an author who can give her readers just enough of the right elements - whether you like a little kink with your romance or a little romance with your kink - this series will capture your interest and keep it long past book 1!

Antonio Ramirez relocates to Texas to revamp his very kinky bad-boy image. Clare Kincaid captivates him right off the bat. He is everything she ever dreamed of. She is nothing like he's ever known. What's a curvy girl to do when a baseball Adonis wants to work his wicked ways with her? Play ball, of course!

Perhaps the reason Ms. Lee is so successful at creating erotic romances lies in her ability to create real, multi-dimensional characters that speak to the reader. Antonio exudes sex appeal, enough to have you reaching for your fan while you read. But he is also empathetic - he wants to make Clare realize her physical appeal, so much so that he is willing to suppress that dark side of him that enjoyed his roll in the Bases Loaded club and ultimate allow her to indulge his passion with him. Clare shows both fragility in her fears and strength in her resolve. While not every woman imagines reclaiming her sense of self confidence by indulging in a single night of wild hot monkey sex with four gorgeous athletes capped off with a trophy piercing - you have to give it to her, she wants what she wants. This pair are unlikely but their connection is magical.

Full of well written dialogue and plenty of seriously sexy scenes, Bases Loaded kept me up past bed time and turning page after page. I'm no fan of baseball but I'll definitely read any sports story if it's penned like Roz Lee's!

RATING: Four Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries and a big ole glass of ice water to cool down after this one!

4.5 stars. Clare's a curvy girl who's long had a crush from afar on NY baseball player Antonio Ramirez. Of course, he would never look her way - he's always being photographed with slender model-types, AND he plays for another team.

But when he accepts a long-term contract with the Dallas Mustangs - the team Clare's uncle manages, and for which she plays organ during the season - it turns out he's not so fond of toothpicks after all.

Tony WANTS Clare, and he's determined to sweep her off her feet, whatever it takes. He has a hard time convincing her that his interest is not just another cruel practical joke, as Clare has been thoroughly bullied and shamed by a local model-type, Jessica Roach (and she makes the reader want to stomp on her).

I had two personal peeves with this: 1) There's in a scene during a couples massage where Tony believes Clare's masseur is coming onto to her, and he turns semi-violent. Red flag; violent jealousy/possessiveness =/= sign of love/affection, and even though he goes through changes and learns to share, even, I didn't like it. 2) Ending with the engagement ring - they have NOT known each other long enough, IMO for it to be presented or accepted, especially with the massage incident.

But obviously I believed in these characters deeply enough to worry about their future happiness, and that doesn't happen for me in every book. I liked Clare, totally "got" her finding validation in playing Bases Loaded, and would be delighted to let Tony put his bat in my rack, anytime. Nice humorous touches, hot, hot sex, but it does involve more than these two, so if that's an issue for you, you may not enjoy this as much as I did. This is part of a series, but works well as a standalone. Highly recommend.

This book and I just didn't vibe. I gave myself a week to let the most of my emotions die down, because I didn't want this review to be a bashing. But, since I like to review books I read (and you KNOW I'm a softie and give most books 4-5 stars, an occasional 3 and rarely less)
Couldn't even finish this. I sparingly read a couple of pages to find out what happens in the end, whether or not it would redeem itself... it did not. :(

I just couldn't get over the silliness.

Wow, a charm & a run around the bases is the goal for Clare but Antonio has a different goal. Love at first sight doesn't happen to Tony but when he sees Clare across a banquet hall he realizes he's found the woman of his dreams. Not believing in herself because of years of bullying Clare doesn't believe she's the woman for Tony but he can get her what she wants...a trip around the bases & the charm that goes with it. Tony refuses at first but after overhearing a confrontation between Clare & another woman he decides that he's got to do it, but he's also going to try to talk her out of it as well. Using all the silent auction items he won that Clare had bid on at the banquet where they met he plans to win her heart hopefully forever. Can he make Clare give up her crazy idea that she needs to run the bases or will he give in & help win her charm? Will he get Clare's heart in the end of everything?

I am a sucker for love at first sight, and even more so when the smitten person is the man.

In an attempt to escape a secret past and rumour-filled reputation, Antonio is hoping the move to Dallas and signing with the Mustangs can provide the security and calm he craves. But when Antonio looks across a crowded room at a vision in blue, he foresees his future the arms of this angel.

Clare is self-conscious, has been bullied her whole life, but has loved Antonio from afar for years and harbours a dark desire that only he can fulfil.

Antonio is every woman’s dream, gorgeous, totally devoted and sex personified, but can he Clare that she’s all he’ll ever want?

An emotionally intense story of the bone deep need for acceptance and a self-doubt that just won’t quit. This couple will tear at your heartstrings every single moment!

Antonio Ramirez has met the woman of his dreams in Clare, the organist for the Mustangs. She has always adored him but she wants an invite from him for the Bases Loaded club. Antonio says no because he does not want any other man taking her but in his mind he sees her with his friends--and likes it.

I like that Antonio listened to why Clare felt it was important for the invite. He is reluctant but realizes the importance to her. These are good characters with a good story. I like that they are both open about their wants and needs. I also loved how they handled Jessica. Cannot wait to read the rest of the series.

Hot, hot, hot! Antonio is a bad boy baseball player, who has just been traded to the Mustangs. Clare is a curvy girl, who has had a crush on Antonio for years. Clare is the organist for the Mustangs and the first time Antonio sees her, he falls in love. Clare, has very little self confidence and can't believe Antonio could be attracted to her. I loved Antonio, but Clare's negativity about herself got on my nerves. Antonio has a interesting way of showing Clare she is attractive. This is a erotic, steamy read and includes other people in the bedroom with them.

This book is not for everyone.
My interest was held through reading this.
Clare is very insecure about herself, being not "model thin" and will not believe when Tony tells her how beautiful she is. This is very common for women though
She asks Tony to let her "run the bases", he has a hard time giving into her wish but ...... well you have to read to find out
beware this book contains many sex scenes and multiple partners

Here's a case where the free teaser worked. I read Free Agent and then paid for and devoured the rest of the series in short order. Yeah, there are things I could quibble about, but I had too much fun reading the series to get hung up on those aspects.
