I am a true romantic at heart and with a modern contemporary erotic twist to my romance novels, you had better fasten your seat belt, as the ride is always fun, exciting and fiery. Living in Las Vegas, but a mid-westerner at heart, I find plenty of inspiration for my books in my own exciting life. I have always loved the arts and as a young girl, I took dance classes and spent the summers reading books from the local library. Fascinated with the written word and its power to guide the imagination, I started writing short stories and later took Creative Writing classes in college. I graduated from The University of Iowa with a B.A. in Journalism and an M.A. in Higher Education. I also have a Teaching Credential from Chapman University in Southern California.

First off: Amazing sex and foreplay. The strawberry scene... HOLY CRAP... Yup! There is some good sweet lovemaking in this, and except for the "fuck me" comment. (see status update) I have nothing to complain about. This is definitely what saved the book from another 3 star rating.
The caracters reviled themselves early on and I had no problem relating in this one, which was a real problem in the first book. We have a real bad boy- who turns all sweet and caring. (I felt his pow was cut of at the end though) And the moshy girl, well, her story/reasons got a bit more believable. Well both of theirs actually.
It's all good Kat got her recording time, but what about Chase? What about him??
The mom and dad/uncle business was all sweet, but could have a bit more fire to it.
And Niki should have thrown that icecold water in her fathers face and given him a big old bitchslap! I know I would have gone fore a full on right hook and maybe even a shinkick or two! And maybe "the old" Jesse should have a word with him as well... :D What an ass!
Jesse should absolutely have brought the teddybear- no question about that! But he is sweet enough- so I'll forgive him...
It's all good in the end so I'll shut up now. We all like a sweet hea :)
Fearless picks off where it last left off in the first book Breathless. In this book, we learn more about Jesse's mom and the situation with Uncle Kenny. As for Jesse and Niki, they are stronger than ever. They are working together through all the obstacles that life has thrown at them. Jesse is starting to get his motocross career back and Niki is finally following and pursuing her dreams in the fashion industry
This book series was not for me. I felt it was scattered and the heroine was lacking a backbone. She is constantly needing to be reminded by Jesse that she is his future. I just felt the author did not cover the important issues that were in Breathless. The story felt repetitive and I did not connect with the characters. Don't get me wrong, the book had all the declarations but I didn't feel any emotional connections with Jesse and Niki. The only good thing about this book was that it had a HEA.
I started reading Fearless immediately after finishing Breathless because that cliffhanger was killing me and I needed to know what was going to happen next. I liked Fearless a little more than Breathless because I got to learn more about Niki and Jesse's pasts and what made each of them who they were when they first met. In Breathless, we got to see how they changed each others lives as they became closer. In Fearless, we get to see a little more of that but also there is more character development with the additional stories of their pasts. Also, as Niki and Jesse learn to open up about their pasts to each other they learn to accept the past for what it is and start to move forward. I enjoyed learning about Jesse's mom's story too. Her story is a part of his story so it was interesting to learn about how the things that she experienced affected Jesse. The story between Jesse and his Uncle Kenny was pretty heartwarming. I am not really sure where the third book will go since I sort of feel like Fearless concluded Jesse and Niki's story in a good place, but I suppose we will see in 2014. I felt like Fearless was a much more compelling part of the story than Breathless. I also felt like the transitions between different character's points of view was smoother in Fearless. The story as a whole was enjoyable, but so far as individual books go Fearless offered a lot more character development and plot progression than Breathless.

***I was given a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.***
Hmmm ok so I've still not made my mind up whether I truly enjoyed this or not. I wanted to, the story was good and it had the right amount of intrigue and romance to make it a good read. Yet, there was something about it that was stopping me from really loving it. It was either the characters or the writing. The way in which they all talk was kind of hard to follow. It may just be me, but it seemed like every other word was a cuss word. I'm no angel and have my cuss rants but it seemed like sooo many were squished into every conversation. Anyway I still read it all and still enjoyed it. It was an easy read and I wanted to know what would happen to everyone.
This is the sequel to Breathless. I don't think it was really a sequel but more like the rest of an unfinished story. There was just so much happening with the story line that I kind of lost interest. There is suppose to be a third book coming out soon but I can't say for sure that I will remember to read it. The story was a little forgettable.
This really a compelling read. I love the emotional tethers of this story. It's a really fun read. I'm looking forward to reading about how Nikki's father handles her defiance.
Jesse has finally got his career back. With the help from his friends. Working on strengthening his hand and leg. He also has been working on his relationship with Nikki. He has many other issues with family. Read to see how he handles them.
Alright, so book 2 leaves off where book 1 left off. Only we get to see a little of Emily(Jesse's moms story) Now we understand the whole Kenny thing. I mean Frank was a a-hole. Later on we learn some secrets Emily was keeping, as a mother, who wouldn't do that to protect their children. I only hope her and Kenny can be happy now. For some reason I just don't love this series, I think this one was better than the first and the author did a very good job and I didn't see any errors like the first book, so job well done! Lots more goes on in this book, I enjoyed it a bit more. But I also felt it lacked in a lot of ways. I wanted to know more about Kenny and his treatment, the surgery I think we should of seen a little bit more on that, well I would of liked to read about that. I wanted a little bit more drama, I felt the entire book something BIG was going to happen and it never came. Niki, I am glad she finally stood up to her father, LOVED that scene! GO NIKI!! I do love Jesse and Chase, those two are pretty funny. Also would of liked to see a bit more with his mom. And I thought Niki was supposed to meet his friends, kind of wanted to see that. All in all it was far better than the first and I did enjoy it, it just doesn't scream amazing and must read. But I enjoyed them. I like the whole motor cross thing though, haven't read that before. I hope Jesse and Niki have a wonderful life!
Some quotes I loved:
"Come on, Niki. Come with me. It will be fun and I don't want to leave you here. I don't trust your dad. He might work a deal and have you in an arranged marriage by the time I get back."
"You see how I've changed on the outside. I look healthier, I'm all tan but what's changed the most is the inside and it's all because of her. She does something that no one else has ever done. She makes me want to be better person. Call me crazy, but I'm f^%&*-ing keeping this one."
I am strong, because I've been weak. I'm fearless, because I've been afraid. I'm wise, because I've been foolish. Life is looking up for Jesse. With expert help from Chase, his injuries are healing and he makes preparations to enter the Pro motocross circuit again. A decision that could force Niki to make a difficult choice. Kenny starts chemotherapy treatments but his bar, Rookies, is hurting from the lack of attention and lack of customers. As Jesse and Niki work to find a way to keep the bar from going under, life throws other obstacles in their way. From a manipulative dad and flirtatious step mom, to news from home about Jesse's mother, that lands them in New York state in search of answers from the past. Dark secrets that were never meant to be revealed.
Oh, and those dark secrets are what make the book so good! I finished and wished I could just read on. I was holding my breath when I read this book because there were more than a few moments were I really feared for that amazing couple. Niki is tough, which I love, and she lets nothing come between her and the guy she loves. Even though she was hesitant at first, she then would give everything for Jesse and trusts him fully... Which I loved because Jesse does it just the same. Those two were meant to be together and yet, I really wish we'd see more of Jimmy... He seems to be an amazing character as well and Jesse is so far away from what was his biggest hold for a long time... I don't know, I just really wish they'd be all together in one spot.
The book is a read you should enjoy when you love the bad boy no matter what.
I liked this one a lot better than the Breathless. The story developed nicely, Jesse is recovering from his injury, Niki is taking strides in her life. Jesse's mom get out of rehab and a whole bunch more.
My thoughts are a little muddled because I read the books one right after another so it was like one giant book for me.
Anyway here are somethings I wasnt fond of.
Some of the story was just unbelievable at times and Niki was still weak she didnt grow as a character really and was very self centered only really thinking of herself some parts especially about Jesse's career
I did like this one better than the first one though!
Received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Fearless is the second book by Eve Carter in the Jesse series. Fearless picks up exactly were Breathless ended.
Jesse and Niki are stronger than ever, working together through all the obstacles life throws them. Jesse is starting to get his motocross career back after his injury, but still has to deal with saving his Uncle Kenny life as well as his bar and helping his mother when she is released from the mental institution. Niki is finally following her dream and attending school to become a fashion designer. Through each other they have found the strength to follow their dreams.
I enjoyed Fearless better than the first book in the series, but I still wasn’t able to connect with the book. Niki was just as insecure in the book even after Jesse’s constant reinforcement that she was his future. I found her needy and weak. Another issue I had was the constant jumping in time from one chapter to the next that would skip over huge issues that developed from the first book. I wanted to read how they were dealing with the situation as it happened not after the fact.
Fearless ends with a HEA but there will be a book 3.
I gave this one 4 stars it was better than the first and I liked that we found out more about Niki and Jesse's past and Jesse's mother with the whole uncle thing but at the same time I still would of liked more from this book. How the first was one and how that was written I didn't really set myself up for more but that's okay still because it all worked out.
I would of liked some more drama because that's just how I like my books to go e.g not all roses and I'll do anything to have you in a way.. but hay can't complain it was a nice little read but again I still don't think this book is for me, but at least it was a lot better than the first...
A question my wife asked me "Would you still read something else by Eve?" and I'm not gonna lie it took me like 1 maybe 2 mins to answer and usually that's not a good sign, I think it was because I felt cheated from the first book is why I couldn't get so hyped up about this one but in the end I told her yes, this one made up a lot for the first part and Im glad that I read it and their HEA so it total 4 stars...
This story is the continuation from the first book. There will be another book in the series but at least with this one there is no cliffhanger ending. I was really hoping I was gonna like this book a little better then Breathless as the rating was higher, but unfortunately I found myself liking this one a little less. It reminded me of watching one of the "B" movies where the actors all sound like they are reading their lines and you never get the real feeling behind the words. That is how Fearless felt to me. It had all the words, all the declarations of strong feelings, but I never felt the emotion of the character. I think the best glimpse of emotion, and the best dialogue came when Jesse is talking to his mom at Kenny's house and Kenny's response to the conversation--that was good, that I felt.
Just like in the first book, I cannot believe the transformation of Jesse. He seems like an entirely different character then the Jesse we are introduced to. Niki, at least was less annoying in this book but I just never got in to her character to begin with. The concept of the storyline I like and that is why I gave it the 3 stars.
In this installment of Nikki and Jesse's story they face a lot. There's Nikki's dad who doesn't like Jesse, even though he wont give him the time of day. There is Kenny, Jesse's uncle who is facing cancer treatments. Jesse's mom who is getting out of a facility that she was staying at for depression and attempted suicide. Jesse's career is lining back on track for him, and Nikki is still going to school for fashion design. Everything seems prefect between the two of them, until her dad gives her a choice, either she gets what she wants, everything, school, rent, car etc but no Jesse, or she can let go of everything he is offering and just choose Jesse.
This book is fast paced and fun. I like how much Jesse has changed and its all from the help of Nikki. He wants to be a better person and has made the changes rather fast.
The story continues on in a 3rd book that is due out net year. I hope it comes out sooner rather then later, I can't wait to see where the two of them end up.
*a copy of this ebook was given to me for an honest review.
Fearless picks up where Breathless left off. Jesse just found out that he’s a perfect bone marrow donor match for his Uncle Kenny and that the reason he’s a perfect match is because he’s actually his father. Not only is Jesse shocked but he’s trying to deal with everything else he has going on in his life. The possibility of racing again is looking more and more promising now that he’s been working out with Chase.
Niki has her own stuff going on and has to deal with her terrible overbearing controlling father.
This book was fun to read it tied up all the loose ends from Breathless and answered a lot of questions I had. I really liked Jesse a whole lot more in this book. He wasn’t nearly as much of an asshole. He actually tried really hard to be better person. This book ended on a happy note. There is a third book coming out soon however but it’s not one I’m in a hurry to read this one ended in a really good place.
Fell in love with Jesse in Breathless and the romance continues in Fearless. Now Jesse has to come to terms with all the secrets coming from his past. He discovers secrets that his mother has hidden from him, all for his protection. Nikki is by his side, they make a lovely couple, very passionate and very sexy.
We get to know Nikki and her past, the connection that she has with Jesse hits beautiful heights. Jesse has grown into a wonderful young man. His love and support for Nikki is testament to how far he has come. Nikki goes through hell with her father, his controlling ways nearly break them, but love wins out.
Fantastic emotional story, with all the key elements of a great love story. I love these stories of such great love that it changes the ways of man whores. But all that they have been through in their pasts make them the wonderful characters they are today. Very sexy, hot, passionate, loving, emotional and at times heartbreaking.

This is a continuation of Breathless and should not be read as a stand alone.
at the end of Breathless Jesse finds out that he is a match for his "uncle" and is able to donate his bone marrow to help with his cancer. In finding out that he is a match other things come out that Jesse has never known.
Niki and Jesse make a trip back to Thunder Ridge New York, Jesse's home town, to meet with his mom and get some answers.
This story was more intense then the first book in my opinion because of what he finds out about his past and the past of his parents.
It's a good read and I look forward to reading the third book in the series when it comes out.
Opposites attract. Niki redeemed herself a little in this book but who ever heard of never having a job by the time you are 21 years old. I don't care how rich your Dad is, HIM being rich is the operative word here. I could not live being dependent on someone especially financially. However, I think he made her emotionally disabled so he could control her. She was an easy target after her mother's death. Trained that way at a young age. He certainly has control issues based on the other fact of having a child ho' for his bride. (I hope she takes him for the ride he deserves.) On the other hand what I wouldn't have given to have had someone like Jesse in my life. He just loves life and lives everyday as if it was his last. I love Jesse. I just hope he doesn't sabotage himself and I hope that Niki doesn't help him with that. Please Eve another happy ending ok?
I could not wait for this one and I was not disappointed. It is a great story with Jesse trying to recover after a motorcycle racing accident and Niki trying to live her life her way and not her Dad's. Jesse and Niki are falling in love with each passing day. He is more calm and less likely to drink and fight when he has Niki. Niki is following her dream to become a fashion designer. Along with her friends Kat and Chase. Jesse and Chase are working at Rookies bar for his uncle Kenny is taking chemo for his cancer. Will Jesse be able to move past the news of Kenny being his dad and forgive them for not telling him? Will Niki break free from her dads possessive ways to control her future? Eve Carter has a writing style I love. If you are looking for a great story with a few extra twist in it, then you should read this series. Can't wait for Jesse- book 3.
OMG I LOVED IT!! I couldn't put it down till i had finished this book! Had a few tears a few laughs and love these characters. This isn't a rock your world with angst and romance and sex, its a feel good love story and easy reading, with characters that are open with each other instead of the normal secrets. It won't blow your mind or have you deep ugly crying but its an enjoyable read. I loved how Niki and Jesse's relationship developed, and how she became stronger throughout the book, till she actually made the decision that was right for her. Jesse has become my new book hero, he dealt with everything thrown at him, in his own hot sexy manner!! Cannot wait for the next episode of this journey, i'm sure it won't all be plain sailing but i know Jesse will make everything right!!
Liked the series very much. A little different from the norm. Jesse has anger control issues; they don't go away but he learns how to control them and how to problem solve in ways that do not involve his fists. His love interest helps him through that and he helps her with her issues of abandonment, et al. They work as a couple despite their very different backgrounds because they get to the root of their issues and love each other enough to give the other opportunities to find ways to help themselves as well as each other. The author does not gloss over the negatives and there is not an easy fix. She allows them to be who they are, face their demons, and find their own way through them. Furthermore, she does not gloss over the serious issues each has to face. Good story.
Seize the day. Niki and Jesse have a hot romance that seems to keep going, but with all great loves there is always something or someone that wants to control at all cost. Poor Niki has been thru a lot and has a hard time trusting and stepping out of the box she knows but like all bad boys Jesse pushes her to live life for her with him. Her dad tries to get her to do what he wants and she needs to go and live for her. She finally has a LOVE that fills her up and trust Jesse so much since she has had lots of men leave her out of their minds and lives. Can't wait for the next one. Wonderful book. Wanting more.
So, this book continues to follow the romance of Niki and Jesse. Jesse's injures have finally healed and he plans to move forward with his motocross career. Niki feels like he will loose his sights on her once he starts back in the circuit. Niki's dad continues to try to control her life and ultimately her relationship with Jesse. Will their love be enough to keep them together, or will life prove to be too much and their relationship crumble? I know but I'm not telling.
Okay, I will say that it does have a happy ending, but their is a cliff hanger. Gonna be another book, and who knows what will happen?
