For Voss, a Coletti Warlord, conquering the universe is a piece of cake. After all, he's a master of psychic seduction; no one can resist him when he sets his mind to it.

Zoey Jones is determined to find her mother's killer. Surrendering to a fierce Coletti warrior is the last thing on her mind. When Voss is determined to make Zoey his mate, she unleashes her own brand of whoop-ass to discourage his pursuit. When her clever disguises, skunk perfume, stun gun, and smoke bombs fail to stop the ruthless warlord, she's forced to negotiate her she would mate with him if he would help her find her mother's killer.

To Zoey's surprise, Voss agrees, and the hunt is on. Their quest to bring the villain to justice leads to unlikely alliances in an interplanetary war, and more surprisingly, to love.

Gail Koger - Vexing Voss - Coletti Warlords #3

How do I love this book let me count the ways…

First, the title. I have a thing about titles, so many of them feel like they were computer-generated. Push three buttons and then bingo! it generates your title. Or marketing picks the title, riffing off whatever the latest bestseller is. (Think of all the 50 shades of fill in the blank you’ve run into.) I like titles that actually tie into the story. Ones that months or years down the way when I think of the story I’ll actually be able to remember the title in case I want to reread it. Vexing Voss is just such a title. Which brings me to point two: the heroine, Zoey.

Earth is in a bad way. It was discovered by an alien race that finds humans delicious. In step the Colletti warlords. They will help protect Earth but only if they are given any psychic women, and no, the women are not given a choice.

Zoey is a loose cannon and a trouble magnet. She’s got a revenge driven agenda and the last thing she wants is to be mated to a Colletti warlord. She’s a strong psychic and has skills she uses to avoid the mate hunting warlords. (She leads him on a merry dance but put your money on Voss.)

Zoey spends a lot of time vexing her mate, Voss. Sometimes on purpose, but mostly she responds to stressful situations with a bad case of motor-mouth. Which is how she manages to offend, insult, and otherwise vex, Voss, various warriors, aliens, and even the Coletti overlord himself. This leads to a lot of fun and snarky dialogue.

Voss is used to total obedience. Too bad obedience isn’t in Zoey’s vocabulary. She’s so unreasonable! All he wants to do is protect her. And she insists on calling him weird pet names like Poopsie and Snookums. Very undignified. More than that she seems to be a nexus for chaos. Which brings us to point three: the plot.

I love an action plot. And boy does this have action! It seems that Earth’s troubles are actually part of a larger galactic war so there’s ample space for fighting, daring rescues, explosions, space battles, betrayals, torture and assorted mayhem. Fair warning: this is not a book to start when your in-laws are coming to dinner, you’re baking cookies, or you have to pick up the children at school. You will not be able to put it down. Which brings me to the last point: characterization and world building.

The author has a talent for providing a complex setting without requiring a four year degree in the sciences. Her aliens are quirky but their characters are clearly drawn. Zoey cuts a swath through them all, making friends and destroying enemies with equal verve.

The bottom line? It’s a great book and a fun read. It’s the third in the Colletti warlord series but stands well on its own. Sadly, books 1 and 2 are currently out of print. According to the author, she plans to re-release in the future. I for one plan on buying them both as well as the sequel she currently has in production.

sometimes when you read a lot of paranormal romance it can seem like there is nothing more out there that you have not already seen. i can honestly say that Gail koger is that something new. this is the third book that i have read from this author and in her Colletti Warrior series, which i adore. i loved this book, with the difference between the military trained Warrior hero and the somewhat criminally minded but law abididing/gun toting trouble magnet that is the heroine, you could not help but laugh out loud at every page turn. :) the undercurrents that ran thru the "family" and the hilarious commentary betwen Zoey and the other "characters",had me laughing out loud, a lot! this would not have turned out well if the Hero(a a Coletti Warlord) was not such a wonderful and stubborn ,"Pain in the @#$, As Zoey would say". who was seriously head over heels in love when it came to his heroine.

All i can say is i will never look at chickens the same way again, LOL!

if you like: 1) paranormal books, with the most hilarious sense of humor running through them. 2)the against all odds romance that just might contian chocolate. then grab this book and dig in for the duration. go ahead and hibernate with it for awhile, i can guarantee once you start reading you won't want to put it down any more than a chocoholic would give up his/her Godiva. LOL!

Vexing Voss is #3 in the Coletti Warlords series, and the first published by Loose ID. This book still has the over-the-top great action, humour and oddball alien characters as the previous two books, just with added smoothness due to better editing.

Our heroine is Zoey Jones, cousin of Kaylee Jones from book #1 Just My Luck and the hero is Voss, the Overlord's Battle Commander. Zarek the Overlord is the hero of book #2 The Warlord's Comeuppance and pops in occasionally to spice things up.

There is a Galactic War going on between Earth, the Colettis', the Alliance and their allies against the Tai-Kok and Rodan. The reason being that the Tai-Kok and Rodan like to eat us, we taste good. So there is lots of scope for mayhem and destruction and lots of explosions.

And why do aliens always want to tattoo the Jones girls?

I must say though, I missed Woo, the baby Tabor that attached itself to Voss in the first book.

Looking forward to #4 Reality Bites, especially after the last line of this one.

Very over the top, but entertaining

It was a good story. But there was so much action every second of the story. The heroine would get into one situation and then another, literally every second of the book. It was a bit over the top and so was her attitude that I kinda rolled my eyes most of the 2nd half of the book. The prose was choppy and the characters were one-dimensional. Zoey had great psychic abilities and was fearless and sassy, but eventually out got to be a bit much. Voss was a macho he-man where he expected Zoey to just blindly obey his every command.

The Romance Review

Snarky heroine and chest-beating alpha male mixed with flesh eating aliens up your alley? How about a tentacle penis that can rock your world? Where have I been that I've missed Ms Koger's books? This is the first book I've read of hers and I'm completely hooked. VEXING VOSS is the third in her Coletti Warlords series. After reading this book, I am going to have to buy the first two and read them. This book is on my must read list.

Zoey Jones is a hardcore investigative reporter who happens to possess a rare psychic power. She is also on a mission of vengeance. She will hunt down the bastard who murdered her mother and no one will get in the way, not even the right hand man of the Coletti Overlord.

Voss is second in command to the Overlord and in search of a female mate. He wants a strong woman who is also a fighter. He is searching for Zoey. To be the bride of a Coletti warrior is an honour in his eyes. Zoey's interpretation is a bit different. She's no alien breeder to be isolated and fucked to produce child after child.

What happens when two headstrong characters butt heads? Crazy things happen. Both Zoey and Voss are in for a wild ride because trouble follows Zoey everywhere. This story is a little predictable in the way it will end. What is fascinating is the crazy train Ms Koger throws the reader on. Hang on because the ride is bumpy and there are frequent derailing stops before we arrive at our final destination. The situations Zoey gets into are deadly. It's an action-packed non-stop fight to stay ahead and not be killed. For some it may be too much, for me it was perfect. I was riveted as I devoured every fighting scene and scrape.

The characters in this story really did it for me. Zoey is quirky, snarky and completely irreverent to those in higher power. She's the small, short kid that doesn't realize she isn't the same size as everyone else. To be fair, her cleverness makes up for most of it. The way she cuts males down to size in this book is hilarious. Grabbing guys by the balls to make a point is my kind of gal. She says and does things I wish I could do at work. The character I feel sorry for is Voss. Zoey is a walking time bomb at times. He is the one who has to adjust the most in order to be acceptable to her. He's an alpha male who now needs to learn how to be a partner.

Lastly, the reason why I enjoyed this story are the different deadly aliens. It reminded me of creatures from Stargate SG-1, Dune and Firefly. I loved all these sci-fi shows. For it to be packaged in good writing, fun plot and great characters, what more could I ask for? If the author asks, it's more kinky sex. Lack of kink aside, this is highly recommended to sci-fi/fantasy paranormal lovers who love frustrating the alpha male.

First, I love this series, you can read this as a standalone, but it really adds to the story to know more of the history of the characters, war and the worlds etc..

This series just continues to get better and better. The characters are strong, smart and funny! These stories are all well written, with an interesting world, beings and interactions. The humor is fabulous. Plus, the couples are HOT.

If you love sci-fi romance with just the perfect amount of hotness, humor and strange beings. This is for you. Highly recommend.

Gail Koger is an auto buy author for me. Can't wait for more!!!!

What a ride! All the trademarks of a truly great sci-fi romance are here...hot alpha male - check! Strong, alpha heroine with an attitude - check! Very interesting sci-fi story - check! Throw in some very funny, original, laugh out loud situations that the heroine gets herself into and we have a book that is awesome!

Loved it! I could not put this one down. Zoey is a kick ass, spunky chick with a mouth on her that won't stop. Voss is one scary, oh so yummy guy who surprisingly is not easily ruffled.

The story is fast paced with tons of predicaments and all the suspense you could want, mixed in with some sexy stuff. This sci-fi was enough to make my little reading heart dance about with joy.

Enjoyed this ride very much, thanks!!

I was tipped off about a really good Sci-Fi Romance by a fellow reader from Good Reads who shares my interests and yeah, baby am I glad I heeded her recommendation. I've never had so much fun with a Sci-Fi Romance in my life. It had all these crazy wonderful elements going for it and I ended all hopped up on those happy endorphins that laughter, sizzling passion, awesome characters and world building can give you.

Cautionary note: This is not for those high-minded folk who take their Sci-Fi too seriously. The book tells a fun, swashbuckling alien adventure romance tale that doesn't take itself too seriously. It was like the original Star Wars movies in a way. This is for those of us who love our strong sassy earth heroine who braves big bad alpha aliens for the heck of it even as she dispenses her own brand of humor, whoop-butt and sexy in equal doses as needed to the dense, thick-headed males around her who try to use her, kill her, or under-estimate her.

This story takes the approach that we are not alone in this universe. The earth was initiated brutally when the squicky human-devouring Tai Kok attacked and decimated large portions of the population uniting the people of earth to fight this common enemy. In the eleventh hour when hope was lost, a new alien race factored into things. The Coletti discovered that there were human females who were gifted with psychic abilities and thus were compatible to their males. The Coletti were a dying race because their females were mostly destroyed, but now in exchange for help in fighting off the Tai Kok, the Coletti warriors would be given all the psychic women as breed mates.

Naturally there were a few women who weren't up for this plan and they hid. Zoey is one of them. She hides what she is both from her own greedy, ambitious father who would hand her over as a breeder in a NYC minute to get what he wanted. Zoey pretends to be human and mousy even while she secretly hunts down her mother's murderer and the traitors within the humans who betrayed their own for profit. Somehow, she hasn't fooled everyone because she finds herself within the sights of the Coletti Warrior Commander no less. She leads him on a merry chase while trying to pull off her own well-laid plans.

Unfortunately, Voss, the Commander, is the commander for a reason. She can't shake him or best him so her only option is to cut a deal to which he shockingly agrees. Zoey becomes Voss' mate and he partners with her to track down the murderer and traitors. Their dubious partnership sets off a whole new series of adventures for both of them and it was a wild, rambunctious ride to the very end.

The story is told all from Zoey's point of view. Let me say, I loved her to death as a narrator. I snorted and flat out belly laughed so much I thought I would pee my pants. She is so outrageous and her mouth gets her into so much trouble. She operates on adrenaline and tons of luck more than plotting and skill though she does that too. Her moral compass is on the acceptable side of right, but she's not afraid to fight dirty or kick up her heels for the heck of it. Zoey was no shrinking violet when it came to mating Voss. Zoey cracked me up when she got a look at Voss' unique alien plumbing and jumped at the chance for an up close and personal. She admitted her attraction and got her sexy on, but this didn't mean that she would let him take away her freedom to decide for herself or be who she wanted to be. He was this huge, buff competent warrior with scary strong mental abilities, but Zoey thumbed her nose at him and went about doing what she needed to do. 'Take me the way I am or get the heck out of my way' was her attitude that left that poor bewildered male crossed up with a strong dose of respect, frustration, and irritation. It was hilarious.

After Zoey and her thing with Voss, my other favorite aspect of the story was meeting all those new alien races and worlds that she encountered through her adventures. Best part of any Sci-Fi story for me. Those worm things revolted me, but I loved all her alien friends even the huge ones that ate anything and I mean anything.

It wrapped up a bit quick for me, but its part of a series so I assume we'll meet up with everyone again in the next book to check back in with how they're doing.

As to reading it as a stand alone, it can be done. I did it and that's saying something. It has a good enough prologue and beginning that gets the reader settled right into the world before it takes off with the story.

This one is for all those who enjoy sizzling hot alien romance mixed with a lot of humor and adventure.

Side notes: For those like myself who enjoyed this book and want the earlier stories, I wrote the author and discovered that the first two books are unavailable for purchase at the moment because her publisher went out of business and she's trying to get the rights back. Join me in impatiently waiting for the book gods to rain down their powers to free up these stories.

Zoey's commander father is looking to get ahead. He wants to use her abilities to become ruling Commander. Zoey is a powerful psychic. She can control minds& kill with just a thought- a great asset in battle-only Zoey refuses to fall into line. Voss is the Overlord Commander- one of the most powerful Coletti warriors. He penetrates Zoey's mind shields and claims her for his own, but Zoey is having none of that.

Zoey is one of greatest heroines I've ever read. Smart, resourceful, and naughty. Trouble is her middle name. She constantly proves herself a warrior in a male dominated society that refuses to see females as anything other than breeders. Voss has met his match,Zoey is as cunning and brave as any male. Not to mention she is a Jones- one of the most powerful psychic female bloodlines. He has his work cut out for him if he thinks he can make Zoey submit. A few honorable mentions: Zarek-the Overlord- the most powerful of his kind seems to be the only one able to curb Zoey and their exchanges are hilarious. Her"bodyguard" and warrior in training Hothar helps keep Zoey out of too much trouble.

Because of Zoey and Voss' psychic abilities, much of the dialogue isnt spoken. It's very easy to follow as all the "mind" dialogue is italicized.A lot action, even some smexy times between Zoey and Voss even though they always seemed be rushed because of the ensuing war.

I absolutely loved this book, reminds me of SE Smith's Lords of Valdier/ Choosing Riley meets Brides of Kindred.

Re-visiting the Jones and their Coletti Warlords, the magic's still there.

Four years ago, Kaylee Jones left earth, met her Coletti warlord and the universe hasn’t been the same. By the end of Just My Luck, it looked like Voss might have a Jones family member in his future. Unfortunately, for various reasons, Voss had to wait awhile for his story. Now the wait is over!

Zoey Jones may not be as much of a trouble magnet as her cousin Kaylee but it’s close. She uses a lot of ingenuity to try to stay ahead of the Coletti who are hunting mates. Voss has years of experience as an interstellar warlord and isn’t afraid to be ruthless to accomplish his goal of capturing Zoey. Keeping her safe and out of trouble might require more work on both their parts.

Vexing Voss is relatively stand-alone, reading the previous two Coletti stories adds some depth but is not essential to understand the major players and the action. However, characters from the two earlier books do make brief appearances, although Zoey would have probably liked a bit less interaction with Zarek, the Coletti Overlord.

Nonstop action, over the top plot, tongue in cheek dialogue and scenes, snarky heroine, alpha hero, unique sidekicks – all of the signature components of a Gail Koger story are there, just polished by her continued writing experiences of the last several years.

Luckily I stumbled onto this gem of a book during a search of Amazon. I absolutely love this book. I've already re-read it and will be reading anything I can find by this author. I would say that fans of Gini Koch, Shelly Laurenston/GA Aiken, S E Smith and Suzanne Wright will love her work. I've added this title to the following Goodreads lists: Humorous Paranormal Books and Best ADULT Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. If you loved it as much as me please vote for Vexing Voss on these lists. The more momentum we gain the faster we may see a re-release of her earlier, out of print titles (I've already sent a request to her current publisher Loose-Id).

For those that may wonder....I'm not a relative, friend of the author or paid reviewer. I'm simply a fellow book lover who paid the cover price and consider it money very well spent.

What do I think? I love this book, I could not put it down. Non stop action, Best Alpha Female character ever(!) and gotta love 'em side characters of family, new best buds and villains (how many ways can the heroine kill the villain? Gail covered most of them)

This is a read over and over again (5 and counting), stay up to 3am, when going through story withdrawals; pull this out - book! You will never get tired of reading this.

Vexing Voss was my first Gail Koger book, so you know I am "jonesing" for the previous book "The Warlords Comeuppance". (Gail so graciously provided me with a copy of "Just my Luck" - that only whetted my appetite for more. Gail please, please hurry and come out with a new book!)

Action, romance, sexy growly alpha males, kick-ass psychic h, what's not to love. Vexing Voss is a keeper if your like me and you love a good sci-fi romance, this is one of those you are happy you bought. I found myself smiling as I read this book (I love when that happens) I love it when a book like this one has a great story, (alternate worlds but you don't need a dictionary to keep it all straight)and the H and h don't get lost in the world building instead, they are the story. I can't wait to read Gail Koger's other books.

Gail - love the continuation of this series. You take your readers on a roller coaster ride which is full of twist and turns. The scenes are dynamic and full of action. This is an intense and passionate read that will keep you turning page after page, you just have to know what Zoey will do next in her campaign to get Voss to drop his pursuit. If you are looking to laugh out loud then this is a book you should try.

I was actually hooked on this book the moment I set eyes on the rock hard abs of the model on this cover! The prologue on the preview of the book reeled me in, this book was such an exciting read. Vexing Voss has a strong heroine that isn't going to take any crap, a total alpha hero, and a wild science fiction plot that left me wanting to get my hands on the next book, yesterday! And the skunk perfume had me laughing my you know what off!

Zoey Jones has successfully avoided being kidnapped by the Coletti aliens who have promised to protect Earth from the Tai-Kok in exchange for brides. Most of her psychic relatives have already been taken and forced to marry the warriors to help repopulate their dwindling population but not Zoey. Nope. She's used every trick up her sleeve to stay under the radar. Until now.

Voss, Zarek's second in command, has been hunting an Earther female who he feels would make a suitable mate. She's been able to elude him for months but he's now found her. It doesn't take long to realize that having a warrior class mate won't be as easy as he thought. Why is it that the Jones' females have a tendency to find anarchy, mayhem, and pandemonium wherever they go?

Little does Voss realize that there is a rouge Coletti who has seen Zoey and feels that she is the one he wants to have as his own mate and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Another fun installment in the ongoing series of aliens who have discovered that certain Earth females are the answer to their dwindling population. To say this is an over the top fantasy read is an understatement. But it's just so darned good that I'm a fan for life of this series.

Voss. He's been in previous installments but has always had that 'hands off' persona. He's the guy you love to tease because he's just too serious and without any sense of humor yet you know if you crack him it's so worth the effort. So ya, I've waited for this installment since he and Detja started going at it in The Warlord's Comeuppance. I was in the zone as this book played out and Voss and Zoey battled each other in and out of the bedroom.
I loved those psychic magic finger scenes.

Good time to mention the adult content scenes. I did notice an increase in the degree of erotic play scenes between the H/h than in previous installments of this series. Whether that's because there's been a change in publishers or that the author has gotten more comfortable with writing those types of scenes I don't know but I did appreciated them. *non spoiler teaser*: aliens are anatomically different than Earth men...... hehe.

My one issue is that this series has been fun and full of snarky humor. The central female character is always a strong female lead and the hero alpha, possessive, and used to being obeyed. The ongoing battle of the sexes (or species I guess) always leaves me in stitches while singing "I am Woman" as the story plays out. Yet. I want more. I don't mean more humor or snark. I mean I'd like to see serious emotionalism or tenderness in a few scenes WITHOUT the humor. Example: gorums. It's really hard to love a species such as gorums but Zoey did. Askoles. Hothar. Jaylan. Zan. Bebo. I wanted to connect more to them without the humor.
Just sayin.

Each of the installments in this series is a standalone but there are cameo appearances from characters in the previous installments that will affect your understanding of the character dynamics and relationships in this read. Yet I'm reluctant to encourage you to read those previous installments because of a personal reason. Overall though I do suggest that if you do want to appreciate this book to the maximum degree reading the previous installments is suggested.

I ADORE Gail Koger and anything she writes. This author has an amazing sense of humor and character. Such hilarious antics but the books don't get overwhelmed by the silly or the weird things that happen - we are in outer space and on abandoned or scary planets here people! She has this wonderfully creative way of taking all the creepy/disgusting and fun parts and mixing them so instead of going "ICK" and tossing the book you are laughing and loving this poor couple as they grapple their way through their adventures. And as they learn to respect each other's talent's or abilities to get into and out of trouble. Or how they can hide weapons. Or where.

By the time you finish the book (for the first time cause you WILL read it again and again) these characters actually LIKE each other even as their hormones/bonding process makes them love and totally LUST HARD after each other.

The scene in this book where this couple finally physically mates for the first time would be not hot and very icky/creepy if it was something you experienced in your life. You (and I) would kick this dude's ASS across the room for demanding it be done HERE. NOW. It would be bye-bye jerkface (or toss the book) then shower in bleach to get the ick off of you. But not when Gail writes it - she makes it incredulous and funny and somehow sweet and even passionate at times. Sure its also awkward and uncomfortable but somehow that becomes part of the charm and grandeur of this couple and the love they have for each other and the life they have to fight for.

If you haven't read a Gail Koger book or talked to her on FB or had any kind of interaction with her writing something you are missing out. This super talented woman makes her biography funny and engaging so you have to explore the amazing things she can do with a hot alien (and his even hotter alien parts)!!!

Alright, I was looking for a new book and Vexing Voss caught my eye. Paying $6.99 (it's down to $5.79 on amazon) for an ebook by an author unknown (to me) is pretty unheard of for me but I downloaded the sample and was hooked. The heroine was snarky and kicka**, take no prisoners. The hero a sexy determined alpha with some unusual skills (psychic seduction). It was a fast paced, action packed space romp with steamy sex scenes, great fight scenes, and was literally full of laugh out loud moments. I was hooked. I found out this was the third book in a series and set off to find the other books as soon as I finished Vexing Voss. To my disappointment they were no longer available. I found out that the author did contests that I could win one of her previous books. I stalked...correction, followed her religiously. Entered every contest she had and won both Just My Luck and The Warriors Comeuppance. I love Gail Koger's books. You know you have a good book when you still laugh the second and third time you read it. She has a new book in the series coming out July 1st, Reality Bites. I am literally counting down the days. I have warned my family and friends that in six days I am going to lock myself up in my loft and not to disturb me unless the house is on fire or someone is bleeding.

4 1/2--5 stars. What a fun and entertaining read! Definitely not the typical "sappy" romance. Probably one of my all time favorite heroines-- she's strong, sarcastic, caring and witty. It's a story full of no-mess alpha males--including the hero-- who rarely show their softer side, but when they do, it's quite tender. Lots of action--I mean LOTS. Very funny at times. Romance is not "in your face", but very spicy. The only reason I did not give it a solid 5 stars was because I felt the plot moved a little too fast. It is probably because I tend to read quickly, and I got lost. The writing was very good--dialogue entertaining, but sometimes I felt confused about how we got to a certain point. Plus there was "physic sex"--took me a while to figure out what was actually happening. As a whole, I really loved it. I would definitely recommend and I am looking forward to more from this series!

After rereading, I would definitely go with a solid 5 stars. Just an over the top, fun read. Lots of action. The writing style is a tiny bit choppy, but I really didn't think the plot moved too fast this time.

I can ignore a bit of arrogance and autocratic behaviour in an alpha male stereotype, but Voss and his pals are downright rude, patronising, and Abusive.

You say no? How about I force mental/physical sex on you. Or jerk you around physically, pulling your hair, threatening you with rape if you don't be a good girl and do what I tell you? Or treat you like you're a stupid dog without an iota of intelligence. All the nonsense about "coletti warlords protect and cherish their mates" just sounds like pretty words for slavery. Sure we will "cherish you" as long as you do everything we tell you and behave like a "proper lady", and don't you worry your pretty little head about anything serious.

The first sexy time in the book had me scratching my head. Really, now?? In this particular location?? Romance =0, sexiness =0.

Recommended if you enjoy the trope of Abusive arrogant warlord mind blowing sassy heroine with magic alien sex after treating her like crap, and then getting his comeuppance (I assume) when she wins his heart and makes him a new man.

Avoid if you find Abusive neanderthal male behaviour distressing rather than sexy. Me, I gave up at about 50% in....

I loved this story and I hope to read more of this series in the future! I loved the chemistry between Voss and Zoey! I also loved how she stood up for herself! I totally recommend this book!

Voss is the Coletti Battle Commander, however it will take all of his battle acumen, patience, and much much more to handle Zoey Jones. Zoey is a Siren - a human with psychic powers - who is to be mated to Voss who choose her as his own. Voss has been tracking Zoey for four years which is in itself a feat. No one before has eluded him for even a day. Zoey is not a female like Voss is used to. She is determined to be independent and to fight her own battles. He wants to fight her battles for her and to keep her safe. She wants revenge on those who killed her mother and who destroyed her world. Zoey is a handful who winds up in trouble a lot. She makes allies with an alien race when she saves their king and one of his children. Their people had thought them dead. Will Zoey, Voss, and their allies be able to beat their enemies? Will they all come out of it alive? Read to find out!

Loved it, loved it, loved it...

I have been hanging out for this book for ages and I wasn't disappointed. It is fantastic; it is action packed and has great characters.

Gail’s books are always very fast moving going from one action packed scene to another. In this book I found Gail had really refined her writing skills and it was better than ever. The scenes flowed that much more effortlessly into each other. Don’t get me wrong her previous books are fantastic; but from a reader perspective this one was just that much easier to follow.

Gail's female characters are trouble magnets who know how to take care of themselves. The male characters are hot, hot, hot alpha males who get taught a thing or two about the strength of women. Aliens and out of space, humour, awesome technology and weaponry, extra sensory abilities and hot, hot characters and sex scenes... what more do you need.

I've waited ages for another installment in this series and after reading it I'm now hanging for another :)
Smart mouthed kick-ass women and big growly alpha males, that's what the Coletti Warlords series is made from.
Amusing and violent at the same time. There is more fighting and tumbling from one disaster to another than hot sex in this book. I would have liked Voss and Zoey to maybe get some quiet quality time with each other but that never really happened. She spent most of the time being sassy and he spent most of the time telling her off, so a bit of uninterrupted time together would have made a nice epilogue.
I really hope that there is more to come in this series...or a spin off. There are a lot of Jones needing to get a HEA of their own :)

This book was just Absolutely Awesome. Lots and Lots of action and blowing up things and big hunky males that just can't seem to figure out what to do with us human women! Its been a while since I had a book that had my laughing all night long as I was reading it. I loved how Voss slowly learns he can't tame his little while she devil, but if he's smart he can work with her to achieve the same goals. She'll match him in wits and courage and maybe just a few more things with her insane ability to get in and out of trouble and aquire die hard allies along the way. This book is a must read if you don't read anything else. I hope she gets the publishing rights to book 1 and 2 Soon because I have to have all of them!!!

Fun,smutty SciFi. Alien capture story Mars needs Women so to speak. A return to the Coletti Warlords. These guys put the A in Alpha male. Non stop fun and action- of several varieties either martial or sexual :) Introduced to a whole host of alien species. Enjoyed the hero and his mate. Like strong women who don't just roll over. She's tough and saves Voss a time or two. Didnt put it down until it was finished. My only complaint is that things seemed to wrap up to quickly. Fun read and would recommend this book to people who enjoy some humor with their hot alien lovin' ;)

"Slam bam, thank you ma'am" non-stop, titillating, balls-to-the-wall action!

I enjoyed this book even more than the first 2 and I'm hoping Gail doesn't take quite as long to get the next book published as she is now on my 'must-buy' list of authors. How one woman comes up with so many original, unique, fascinating characters and aliens is beyond me but then again, that is why she is the author and I am just the reader of this delightful story. Did I mention I can't wait for the next one?

**I just read this one again while I'm waiting for Gail's next book. I needed a 'Warlord' fix.
