Allison Carmichael is thirsty for blood and hungry for answers. Lured away from her illicit extracurricular activities by news about her kidnapped husband, Allison rejoins her adopted family that's promised to help her find him. Allison's search is detoured, however, by sinister vampire politics, the seeming good will of her fanged family, and the return of her nemesis. Circumstances unfold that shatter the foundation of her world. In order to successfully play the game she has been thrust into, Allison must battle loss and betrayal and accept unexpected love. THE SEARCH is on for answers, but when answers are found, will they be what Allison was looking for?
Kelley Grealis was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She has a B.A. in Accounting from Baldwin-Wallace College and a Masters of Business Administration from Cleveland State University. She has loved all things vampire since she was a little girl, and it was that passion combined with thirteen years of Catholic schooling, that inspired her to write THE DESCENDANT. She lives in a Cleveland suburb with her husband and their two cats.
I know what you're thinking...the author seriously rated her own book? Yes, I did. Why not since Goodreads gives me the option?
The Search, Book 2 in The Descendant Vampire Series, is the continuation of Allison's journey. Allison is desperate for answers to lots of questions, and she gets those answers, but are they really the answers she was hoping for?
Allison has to battle her addiction to human blood, loss of an unpredictable magnitude, attractions she can barely control, sinister vampires who are out for blood and more. Will she find Matt, her husband who was kidnapped by the vampire that transformed her? You'll have to read the book to find out!
I hope you enjoy The Search. If you read it, please consider leaving an honest review on Goodreads and the site through which you purchased the book. Reviews are like mini advertisements that really help authors with book promotion.
Thank you for reading The Descendant Vampire Series!
Allison is on a killing spree, leaving a trail of bodies, and absorbed in her new found freedom of becoming a vampire. She struggles to deal with all that’s happened to her, such as her husband missing, Vincent’s lies, and trying to cover up her new self from her best friend. Everything suddenly comes into focus when one of the Drake’s tells her, “We think we know where Matt is.” You’re put into a story where Allison’s search begins to accelerate.
I really enjoy Kelley’s stories. The uniqueness of these vampire books are a huge A+! I love the biblical weave she brings into every tale, giving you more nuggets that make you wonder if maybe vampires are real! The author is descriptive enough to give you a clear picture in your head, while not bombarding you with too many details. You will get some unexpected twists as you read the Search, leaving you wanting to know what will happen to Allison next. If you’re a fan of the vampire genre, and need a break from the “norm” story, then pick up Kelley’s books!
Allison's life is a mixed-up mess, picking up where The Descendant left off. Sometimes situations are complex; there's more to the story than meets the eye. Allison runs into one obstacle after another in her search for her missing husband. I don't want to give the story away, but it is full of twists, turns and unexpected surprises. I felt that The Search was more "horrific" in a vampire-thirsty way, than the first of the series, The Descendant. I mean, a girl's gotta eat. Kelley Grealis has spun yet another interesting vampire tale of Biblical proportions. If you enjoyed The Descendant, you'll love this one too.
A completely different take on the vampire world!, September 11, 2013 A completely different take on the vampire world! If you love your vamps as much as I do you will find this story intriguing! If you are looking for a whole new intense world to jump into grab a copy of this book now. Kelley Grealis takes us to a slightly darker side of the vampire world showing us many personalities from newborns to the ancients along with plenty of action, emotion, & suspense. These vampires definitely don't sparkle, but they will have you entranced none the less! Bring on Book #3!!!
I was gifted this book from the Author for an honest review. I gave this book 5 stars. This is book two in The Descendant Vampire Series.
Stars: 5
Book: The Search: The Descendant Vampire Series
There is more to this book than meets the eye and honestly while reading this I didn’t think Allison could go through anymore throughout her life. Getting sick, hearing her husband is dead, meeting this new guy who is supposedly her new boyfriend, and of course other things I don’t want to give away in this review. In this second book she is in search for her missing husband, though she seems to be getting lost in her blood lust more and more as time goes on.
There were a lot of things I didn’t see coming in this book and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time while reading it. Nothing is at it seems in this book and I always love a good twist in a mystery. The characters were so well rounded and Kelley Grealis did a great job making me jump back and forth between who I should trust when it came to characters. I liked the first book a lot but I have to say that I loved this book even more. I seriously couldn’t put it down, because I had to know what happened.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery and wants to be up late stuck in a book because you “just have to know”. I can’t wait for the next book, I have so many questions left after this one.
At the end of The Descendant, the first book in the series (see my review), Allison Carmichael is confused, lonely and just a wee bit upset at how her life had changed from what she once knew. She takes off and leave the Drakes and everyone else behind. Book 2, The Search, picks up months after Allison had fled. She has been binging on humans the entire time. Not good. She is at risk for exposing vampires to the mortal world, but she doesn't seem to care. All she cares about is satisfying the need, the drive for human blood. Well, and she says she's still searching for her husband Matt. Must be in between the humans she's consuming!
I liked the first book The Descendant because it was a vampire story but with a twist that I haven't read before. There are a lot of surprises in this book and it floored me so much that I had to message the author and tell her "Holy shizz!!" I really didn't see a lot of the surprises coming and I liked that a lot. I like when a story can surprise me and make me go "Wow. Didn't see that one coming!" Kelley is such a great story teller too. I love all her characters, even the bad ones because, as Shrek says, they are like onions.....they have layers. They aren't one dimensional or even predictable. Kelley also knows how to build up the suspense and drama and tension in a story, as well as make it sexy. I actually think I like this book better than the first!! If you haven't read the first one, go get it, then you can read this one! I give this book 5 books!
I received this book to give an honest review. AHHHH how do you write a review without giving anything away! It is so hard to do especially with this story. This is one book you have to read. Man I thought I truly liked book one but in this one wow! You are swept away with this one. You leave off right where book 1 stopped. Allison has been on a spree trying to find answers to her husband's whereabouts but is she truly finding out anything? When Allison "adopted" family tells her that they may know where Matt is, Allison is all for trying to find where he is, she wants to see the love of her life again. But at what cost? Vincent doesn't play too big a part within this book being as he comes and goes throughout the story, and of course he still loves Allison even though we all know she doesn't love him. I found myself on the seat of my chair wondering towards the end is the bad guys going to accomplish what they have set out to do? Or will Allison and the new characters stop them? You get to meet new characters and lets just say there is a revelation that I really did not see coming and I loved that. This author has a way to keep you engaged in the story and wanting more of what is to come next. You get more of a depth within this story line with the new characters. They play a bigger role than you would have ever thought before which is great. Now I for sure can not wait to read book 3.
I just finished reading “The Search” and I am blown away. Kelley Grealis said “..this story is a vampire story that I had always wanted to read..” and I could not agree with her more. I loved the first book but this one is even better. This story has it all. It has such a nice twist on vampires and how they came to be. I started reading it and could not put it down.
What I really liked about this story was all of the suspense; you were just as much in the dark as Allison was. You could watch her grow as she discovered things about herself and the world that she was thrust into. I was kept on the edge of my seat at times not able to read fast enough to find out what is going to happen next. There were surprises throughout the book. Of course, there is a love story but I think it is a bit different from the usual one, at least I thought so. I will not say any more about it, you have to read and see if you agree.
The new characters really added depth to the storyline. I loved how you were given more of the history of how vampires were created and the how the gypsies fit in because they were alluded to in the first book but you never knew exactly if they had a role until now. I cannot wait for next book to come out, there are still a lot of questions in my mind but no cliff hangers—Yeah!
You know, it's absolutely fantastic when an author tops themselves in a sequel. This book picks up right where the first one left off and doesn't waste any time getting things moving. This is a hard book to say anything about because if I say too much, then I give away things from the first book. And of course, if you've followed me for any time at all, you know I don't do spoilers.
I was excited to dig into this book. So much so that I put off writing the review for the first book just so I could read this one. I'm glad I did, too. The title is so apt for this story. More than one search is happening. Secrets unfold as answers and curve balls abound. I was riveted from start to finish. While not exactly enemies, a short truce is called and Allison and her family gain much needed support from some temporary allies.
As much as I enjoyed the first book in this series, this second book has cemented Grealis as an author I plan to watch. Occasionally I mention that box I label "favorite authors" on those rare occasions when I move. She just ensured I have to start a second box. I was up until 3:00a.m. so I could finish this story. She's also ensured I don't start her books when I have to be in at 6a.m. the next day. Unlike book 1, The Search was perfectly edited. I found no errors in my reading.
Allison met Joe in a bar and she is taking him home to the apartment that the Drakes own. Joe has no idea whats going to happen to him. Her hearts only purpose was to move the Devil's venom through my body drive her toward the singular goal of another mortal kill, she doesn't know what city is in since she traveled to so many different cities over the past several months that they all looked the same. When the get to the apartment she was about to strike before she could they were interrupted by Marlo. When she interrupted she told Allison that she has news about Matt. Allison finally decided to go back to the castle. They went on a search for what? Matt? The Garden of Eden? Vincent? Allison has been on a non stop binge for human blood. She is a newborn vampire. Felix has been working on her family tree to see why she is so strong. Marlo found Allison. Lorenzo is part of the Council. Max is vampire. Vincent's Allison's would be suitor, he is in hiding. Matt is an archangel. This is the second book in the search series. I loved how the characters were well developed. I also loved how I was hooked into the story from start to finish. Kelley you did it again.
The Search is the second book in the Descendent Series. Allison is a rogue vampire at this point and has become addicted to human blood. She continues to search for Matt, unsuccessfully. Found by Marlo and taken back to the castle, the Drake family now has to go before the Counsel with Vincent and to hear their case. Will Vincent be able to prove he received permission from Allison to turn her? The Search takes a deeper look into the twist that Grealis puts onto the Biblical story of the Garden of Eden. You will learn the relationship between the vampires & gypsies and whether they can find the Garden of Eden. I found that there were a lot of twists & turns in The Search and may secrets are revealed. Her relationship with her creator seems to change when he finally gets the chance to explain himself. However, you don't really find out what happens to Allison's best friend. I am hoping in the next novel this is explained and am also looking forward to see where Kelley takes us next!
I LOVED this vampire series. This is the best one that I've read. Kelley does an amazing job incorporating biblical stories into the lives of the vampires and how they were created. This book picks up where The Descendant leaves off, with Allison running away from her new "family". She goes on a bit of a hunting spree and becomes "addicted" to human blood. She's still not adjusting to her new way of life, and harbors a grudge against her creator Vincent. While on her journey, she continues to search for her husband Matt, but has no idea where to find him. Upon returning to her coven, she discovers that there are even more unbelievable things; things that she thought were just fairy-tales, that are indeed real. This book was so great, I was sad to come to the last page, and I CANT wait for the third book to come out!
Allison Carmichael is ravenous and she wants answers. She’s drawn to the one man she can’t stand and in love with one she can’t have. But, when her life seems to spin out of control, and there are more questions than answers, the Drakes are there to help. Unfortunately that includes the selfish bastard Vincent. She has to battle through betrayals and accept loss, but will she be able to move on?
The Search was fantastic and it left me wanting more. It’s full of twists and turns you won’t see coming. This one is more bloodthirsty than the last as her characters fight for survival. Kelley created another fantastic Vampire novel and if you read the first one in the series reading The Search is highly recommended.
This book picks up right where the first one left off. You find out what is going on with Allison and how her life has been since she changed. The loose ends are quickly tied up and you are spun into another 'chapter' of her undead life. This book was a non-stop read for me and it moved at a much faster pace then the first. I had a few "what?" moments and 'didn't see that one' while reading this sequel. If you liked the first one, you will love the second....now off to the third in this series!!
What a refreshing twist to all the other vampire books I have read. I enjoyed all the twists and turns that kept me guessing what was coming next. I loved all the descriptive words she used that helped me feel like I was there. It was also neat living in the Cleveland area to read all the local references (even if they were disguised). Can't wait for book 3!
Allison Carmichael has gotten herself in the middle of a serious family conflict. DARNED serious. Her ex-husband Matt is involved with an angel, her current beau is siding with vampires; the vampires are having their own internal struggles. Allison has a definite interest in how things work out, as Vincent IS a vampire. And, he has turned Allison, as well.
“The Search” is the second book in the Descendant series. As the middle tale of three, it reminded me a lot in spirit of “The Empire Strikes Back”. The first story, “The Descendant”, like “A New Hope”, introduced the concepts, environs, and characters. It had an innocence about it, in which good can overcome overwhelming odds and defeat evil. THIS tale, however, like “The Empire Strikes Back”, is much darker in tone. Not only do “the good guys” find out that its not enough to be pure of heart to defeat a powerful adversary, but it becomes obvious that the line between hero and villain isn't as clear-cut as it first appears. Further, as in the Star Wars analogy, this middle tale has the FEEL of a transitional story. It stands on its own, but it also serves as a bridge between the innocent introduction and the no-holds barred conclusion of the 3 story set.
I'm looking forward to reading the 3rd and final book in the series. After that, I hope that the author rediscovers her muse, as she has been silent for far too long in the literary world.
RATING: 4 stars.
DISCLOSURE: I was provided a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Small Spoiler of Where We Left Off: ** Allison has taken off, run away from her fate, after killing a big, bad guy and finding out that her husband is still out there somewhere. There’s other stuff in there, but I really don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who has yet to read the first book.
I was a little disappointed by this book — and I do mean only a little. After reading and reviewing the previous book, The Descendant, (my review for that book found here ), and after yelling at my eReader for the abrupt ending of book one, I suppose my expectations were a bit high for this.
Do not get me wrong, this is still a very good book; however I was not as drawn into it as I was with the first. There are moments that tend to drag out a bit too much… and overall, I think a lot of the book could have been edited down to a smaller/shorter book.
But let me discuss the things I liked! I like giving positive reviews and I do like Kelley Grealis’ style of writing — I even made a note that I love the font used for the chapters (i.e. “Chapter 1″, “Chapter 2″, etc.) — I want that font. It looks awesome.
There was a point that made me giggle because as one character is trying to escape being captured, he pulls the old “HEY LOOK OVER THERE!!” trick and runs away — and being a vampire, he can run quite quickly. I scoffed at first, thinking the others should never have fallen for it, but it was quite believable and then I just giggled. It’s an old trick in the book, simple, yet clever and effective.
I also enjoyed the new knowledge — or relearning the lore that vampires are also compelled to count grains of sand or salt. This comes into play within the book and I remembered that members of the Fae must do this, but I hadn’t remembered that vampires (in some lore) are also compelled to do so, which is why they can’t cross a line of salt. The lore is that they cannot move until they have counted every single last grain. I LOVED that this was used. So kudos to Ms Grealis!
Let it be known that, while there are no sex scenes in this book, there are still a few heated glances that make me look forward to book three, which will be coming, though a set date has not been announced. I will continue to read this series and any other books Kelley Grealis decides to grace us with because I do enjoy her style and the storyline — as I mentioned in my previous review, I enjoy her take on vampires and how it’s different from others. I love the religious aspect and I love how she brings lesser-known myths and lore into her writing. It’s creative and new in a world of books that seem to be cookie-cutter formats. She cuts her own path and for that I will forever respect her.
In summation, this is a great book — it didn’t quite live up to the previous one, but it still leaves me thirsting for more. Check out this series if you enjoy new takes and lesser known lore. Honestly, I’m loving it!
This is the second book in The Descendant series. The Descendant series has a great twist on the subject of Vampires. The series has a biblical base on the story line. This one is five stars for sure. Allison is having trouble controlling her taste for human blood after running off in search of her husband alone. Being a newly made vampire she left before she could be taught more about control by her new family. Her sister Marlo is finally able to find Allison and convince her to return to the family home by promising Allison that they have located Allison's husband Matt. Upon her return her brothers Felix, Lorenzo and Max explain how they were able to locate Matt. They agree to take her to Matt but first she must agree to their terms. She had to stay with them so that they could help her learn to control her urge for human blood. Allison agrees and is told where Matt can be located. She and the Drakes (her new family) leave to begin their journey to locate Matt. On the way they make a stop to save a family from some other vampires. It is here that Allison learns that her worst enemy is still very much alive and it is here that she comes face to face with the man who stole her humanity from her. She also meets an important vampire and she and the Drakes are ordered to report before the vampire council the following night. At the meeting the Drakes are given twenty-four hours to locate Vincent and return with him, while Allison remains with the council as their prisoner. It is in prison that Allison meets Jal a Gypsy who comes to free her and help her escape. Jal also tells Allison that the trip she and the Drakes had planned to take to find Matt would be a waste of time because Matt is not where they think he is. Jal then gives Allison the answer she needs to find Matt.
This one is full of twists and turns, unexpected plot twists and a battle that you will not soon forget.
Wait until you finally witness the reunion of Allison and Matthew. You will also want to know if Vincent is really a good guy or a bad guy, are the Drakes really everything they claim to be? Do they really want what is best for Allison? Those questions I am sure will be answered in "The Truth" which will be released October 21st
(I received this book for free as part of Goodreads First Reads giveaways).

I do think vampires are overused in fiction, but I actually enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would.
Although this book was the second in a series, I didn't find myself confused at all by the events that took place. The characters were likable and well-written and I was a bit surprised to see that, although he came across as a bad guy, I found myself actually liking him as a character.
I found the use of Cain from the Bible quite an interesting twist, though I think I've seen/heard of Cain as a vampire in other fiction. The Bible code thing was kind of confusing - I don't think it really works as a prediction in the way it's done. Then again, it was fiction - and they didn't interpret it perfectly, so...
I did find Allison quite an interesting character. Although there was something special about her, she wasn't the centre of the universe and she wasn't completely perfect/unbeatable.
The origin of the vampires was quite an interesting one as well. I was a bit thrown when the story suddenly slipped into present tense. I think I would have been less confused/thrown if there'd been something else to indicate why there were scenes in present tense - or at least an indication after the scene changed.
The use of the angels was quite good in the book and I would have liked to see/learn a bit more about them. I think I would have liked a bit more about the history of the vampires. It also seems a bit unfair that humans killed by vampires lose their souls, since it's not a choice they themselves make.
I did notice a few errors in the book. Nothing too major, but they were there.
I think I'd definitely be interested in reading more books in this series in the future. This was a better book than most of the teenaged-human-girl falls in love with much-older-vampire as soon as she lays eyes on him. It was a really refreshing change and I would recommend it to people who aren't as irritated by vampires in popular culture.
This is the second book in the series, and we are learning more about Allison and the ways of a vampire, and their rules. I love how the author continued the story, although it starts 5 months after the end of book 1. We do get an idea of how Allison (Ali) has been living since leaving Castle Adena. Vincent does come back in the picture. He seems a little different, but still a bit self centered. He appears and disappears from the Drake family through most of the book. New characters and groups are of course added in this book, and enhances the story well. It gives more depth to the whole background and storyline. Ali is still bent on trying to find her husband, Matt. I won’t give away anything on this subject. Except that the Drake family find Ali and bring her back to the castle telling her they have information on Matt. Although, this is not a romance story, the love Ali and Matt have (had) is deeply still affecting her in her new life. And Vincent admits that he is in love with Ali. I liked how this stayed on the path of Ali’s life, but I think I would’ve liked to see a bit more romance squeezed in somehow. Although, I’m not quite sure how and where it would’ve fit in, in this book at least. Maybe in book 3 we will get some romance between Ali and Vincent. We don’t get the HEA we want at the end, but we do get a semblance of HEA. Overall, a very great book. I patiently wait for book 3.
I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the 2nd book in The Descendant Vampire series, once again a well written story with a clever rendition of the original vampire. First off I want to say I intend to read all the books in this series, this series is strictly paranormal in nature, so if you're looking for PNR you really won't get that here. Once again the character are likable enough, we get to interact more with all the Drakes again as well as some new characters. We are also introduced to archangels and gypsies which I thought a bit out of place in a vampire book until Ms. Grealis gives us a rather enticing background history of their connections, a well thought out conception. As with the first book this one did not grab me and suck me in, but it was a good read. I again was able to put it down and come back to it several days later and picked up where I left off not missing a beat. This particular book in the series did seem to drag out a bit, very slow moving in several areas. I liked that Allison was able to find some closure in regards to her past, and I liked that in the end she turns to her creator. For all of Vincent's flaws I really do believe he cares deeply for Allison, though I have a gut feeling Ms. Grealis might just have us switching those thoughts because Vincent seems like he might have ulterior motives when it comes to Allison. I look forward to finding out what happens next.
I just finished reading "The Search" and I am blown away. Kelley Grealis said "..this story is a vampire story that I had always wanted to read.." and I could not agree with her more.

The Search: Book Two in the Descendant Vampire Series, by Kelley Grealis, continues Allison's search for who she really is, and hopefully, to find her husband, Matt. Angry by the Drake family and the lies they told her, she flees and goes on a killing spree. When the Drakes catch up to her, they talk her into coming home with them by telling her they know where Matt is. Vincent is always nearby keeping a watchful eye but he has problems of his own with the Council to clear up. Again, Ms. Grealis adds her own interpretation of the Garden of Eden and Allison's connection to Adam and Eve's son, Cain.
This was even more enjoyable than the first book as we see Allison struggling to come to terms with who she is now and how it all is connected to the Garden of Eden, which she has dreamt about many times in the past. Now she is seeing it all come together. Finding Matt and his connection to everything really adds suspense to the entire story line. We are left eagerly waiting for Book 3, which will definitely let us look at Ms. Grealis' version of the Garden of Eden.*

I actually had to prepare this read and am so happy that I did. Miss Grealis’s début novel, The Descendant, was a fast paced, impassioned, serious read. Which had me both anticipating and dreading this read.
Anticipating, because like I expected, The Search was an emotionally charged, action packed, quick read.
Dreading, because… HOLY BOOK-HANGOVER, BEXMAN!! She answered all the questions left from book 1, then I blinked and it was the climax. Followed by a beautifully crafted ending. Which had me scratching my head wondering, “What the HECK do I read NOW!”
Kelley Grealis’s next edition to The Descendant Vampire Series is book 3, The Truth, out sometime this year. No exact ETA, but our girl is crazy busy typing away.
I agree with the author about wanting to read this type of vampire book. I LOVE IT!!! Every book I read of Ms. Grealis', I can't seem to stand walking away from. But my body just can't seem to stay awake long enough to read it in a day.
It is a page turner, a easy read and I love how she uses ideas from the Bible to weave into her plot. I have finished both books now, and wait with bated breath for the third in her series. I wish it were being released now as I'd love to get started. I think I'm addicted. ;)
***SPOILER ALERT***
OMG, WTH is with Gabriella? I wanted to punch her in the face myself? I would sooooo love to know, is there going to be a love interest between her and M***?
What happens with Lucious? Will Ali meet with the Ruling Council again? What about her and Vincent?
I was given this ebook free for an honest review. I absolutely LOVE to read Kelley's work! It's so well written and presented! I love the way she weaves the story! As you are reading the words really just jump right out at you and entwine you into the lives of the characters! The Search is the second book in the Descendants Series, and it picks up immediately after the first book leaves off. We find Allison is searching for her husband, and learning more about Vampirism. I really love Kelley's take on Vampirism and her twists involving the biblical background, and we see much more of both in this installment. Don't worry, you'll see more of Vincent as well! I would give this more than 5 stars if I could! You simply MUST read it!!
FANG-TATSIC!!! WONDERFUL!!! AMAZING!! Book 2 was no disappointment that's for sure. Bringing in Angels and Gypsies to the equations is unbelievable and I have never read a book like this before. Kelley did and absolute amazing and Fang-tastic job with this story and learning more about Allison and her life. Allison still searching for her husband and learning more and more of the truth about her life and the life of a vampire. Kelley kept the book still using the bible basis which is good cause it has to do with the story and just continued to let it flow. I can not wait to read book 3 The Truth. I know I won't be disappointed and I want to see if it continues or if it is the end of the series. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Search picks up where The Descendant left off. There is no lag, no delay - the AWESOMENESS continues.
There is in depth character development - flaws are seen as the outwardly perfection remains. Explanations are given as to why things happened in the Descendant. This story deals with Allison's struggles and assimilation into the world of vampires. There is the hunt for prey but in no way is it graphic or gory - its survival. The assimilation from the mortal to immortal world is clearly depicted. You feel the emotion and understand the turn of events. There is some romance definitely no horror.
Kelley Grealis' method of storytelling is refreshing and clever. Very well thought out and engaging.
I enjoyed this book better than the first it seemed to flow a bit better, and despite my disbelief in areas, I managed to plough on.
The main character is not really likable in many ways with no consideration or thought beyond her own needs. A self-absorbed character, she has no remorse or thought for those around her other than they serve her every whim. She seems incapable of thinking logically, and her crass stupidity and gross ignorance make her continued existence possible only because she’s immortal. Thankfully these episodes are generally short lived enough that I didn’t take a desperate plunge into the skimming pool.
The writing style is consistent, and the conversation and action balance each other out nicely to a level playing field and create a good tale.
I absolutely loved this book! The author continues to weave old myths and lore together with the modern day and the result is a fantastic tale about vampires and how they came to be. The characters continued to capture my attention as they navigated through all the twists and turns in the story I never saw coming. Just like the first book in the series the plot still continued to stay entertaining without all the x-rated sex scenes and super graphic fights that I am used to seeing in this genre. And though there is nothing wrong with either of those things in a story this was still a nice change of pace. The author has definitely captured my attention and I am truly curious to see where this series could possibly go next. In my opinion The Search is definitely recommended.
